na wa for all this generalization. ![]() Well, I dont know the exact statistics on bleaching, but the guy I used to know, who bleached and also jerry curled his hair, wasnt Yoruba. Terrible effect too, since nobody was fooled. ![]() |
black american ko, black Nigerian ni. |
adamsy07:all these ones you're saying, are just excuses. Some parts of Greece arent a walk in the park either, but people still go there on vacations and cruises anyway. If you're starting a business, you don't expect to recoup your starting costs or begin making a profit, immediately. You may be thinking the average Lagosian wont be able to afford a cruise, which actually isnt true. People go on cruises for their honeymoons, banquets, vacations, etc. And if you're waiting for constant electricity, good roads, perfect security, etc before you allow yourself to relax and enjoy life, then you probably never will. and check the ages of most ships at sea. ![]() |
I saw a picture of Ovomramwen somewhere, after his capture and exile to Calabar or thereabouts, and believe me, it wasnt funny at all. He almost looked destabilized. ![]() He was in chains too. |
Blu Malam:once again, how does this fix the potholes on Nigerian roads, or improve the erratic power supply? |
madamkoko:Some Nigerians abroad go on cruises like nobody's business. The Nigerian Christians/churches arent left out either. Who no sabi good thing? Even over a decade ago, there were some overseas based Nigerian cultural organizations arranging and booking annual cruises for the members. |
@ OP: why is 98% of your extremely weird posts about Nigerian men? Do you see any release from this your agony of fixation? Can you spare others the torture of being forced to agonize along with you? I did not send you message, abeg. Please talk things over with your Nigerian lover and lets all have a breather. I myself don't spend all my time wondering about Nigerian men even though I'm Nigerian. |
so, caliente, what you're saying is that animals do in fact turn into human beings? ![]() So, just for the sake of argument, how does that repair the potholes in the Nigerian roads, or fix the erratic power supply? Or provide people with meaningful jobs so they don't have time to troop out en masse and gape at the pointless wonder? ![]() |
Behind the Numbers |
please remove the mystery from juju. Science is nothing but juju with the gullibility removed. turn juju into something to be used for progress, instead of destruction. Or at the very least, have an inquisitive mind. There was another thread talking about how urine was used to revive someone from a "coma". There's nothing fantastic about that- smelling salts (ammonia) will revive anyone anyday from a fainting fit. ![]() We know many African people ( politicians, native doctors, area boys, etc) make a livelihood from all these things, in the name of culture, but its to everyone's benefit if we reduce our level of gullibility as a people. Did the cat thread get deleted? As I pointed out, if it were abroad and someone runs up yelling they saw a cat turn into a woman, people would lock their doors and call the police to take the fellow to a mental institution. If you go out to gawk at the wonder, you may end up seriously injured in the event the shouter has a gun. ![]() |
If the ship is meant for cruises and tourism, then what's the big deal here? Dont people go on cruises abroad? Or is it written somewhere that only foreigners can own cruise ships? Am even surprised Nigerians waited so late to start this kind of venture. Am also sure the churches will soon follow suit if people notice its successful. |
@ topic: oh dear. ![]() |
darfur:"This kind of thing" is done in many parts of Africa. Its linked to African Traditional Religion. Some parts of Nigeria have nearly eradicated the practice, but it still exists nonetheless. |
na person wey get time dey answer this willywilly. ![]() |
the moral of this story is: don't let a man keep leading you on for donkey years without marriage. Regardless if he's a minister for the past fifty years, an average casanova, or in between both extremes. If he keeps dodging the issue, dump him. Before he dumps you, that is. |
I feel sorry for the family. Its a bad situation all round. His wife has been sick for so long, and maybe he needed sex. Some men don't even use a wife's sickness as an excuse to fool around. They'll do so even if the wife is healthy and giving them sex 24/7. maybe John Edwards ought to be given some slack. His wife should be the judge, not the general public. The whole thing reminds me of Bill and Hilary Clinton. |
some hausa doctors in the south are actually very hardworking. There's one my friend used to know, who combined farming with his physician work. He even faced down some Fulani who were grazing their cows on his land, and they left him alone. The guy also had a non-hausa fiance who I think was Yoruba. There was another doctor who was also okay except for the polygamy stuff at his young age. |
@ topic: yes, I can believe that. ![]() Some people's relatives are the ones aiding their misfortunes. ![]() |
lucabrasi:yes, it works for some of them just like 419 can also profit some yahoo yahoo boys. It doesnt mean there's magic involved- just a method and maybe some hypnosis. |
there is more than one way to kill a cat. A fight that's been going on for forty years and yet still no end in sight? I think people on both sides of the conflict need to sit down and ask themseves just how long they intend to keep on killing each other while the rest of the world gapes at them and goes on by. It doesnt speak well of anyone to continue holding on to an unending 40 year old grudge with an everlasting cycle of violence. I'm sure that's not the only way to resolve this issue, even for the undercover foreign sponsors who are profiting from the militants activities. The whole thing is getting pointless, just like the Congo, and Ugandan mini-conflicts. After a while, the original grievances get murky. Shell caused environmental degradation. The militants are also causing environmental degradation. What's the difference. Even if shell wants to make amends and clean up the area, how can they do so now? |
the world is getting tired of all these conflicts all over Africa. Everyday its one new conflict or the other, all over the place. After a while, the so called " militants" even forget their original reason for fighting, and just openly engage in pointless violence. As one oyibo man said years ago: its so easy to start an armed conflict in Africa- just give people some weapons and they will start killing each other for whatever cause. Very true, although the man may have been drunk when he said this. I hope one day we can all wake up and take a good look at ourselves and really sit down to think. Europe and the US ended their own armed internal conflicts long ago, for the most part. Meanwhile, some Africans are proudly boasting of how much more damage they can do to their environment. As if even before, there was so much to boast about anyway. and if Oyibo (or even Chinese) invades that place tomorrow, that conflict will end within the year, I assure you. When push comes to shove, oyibo no dey mince words and they no dey sentimental. Its only if they dont feel the need, that they allow things to go any which way. ![]() So the only means to negotiate this Niger Delta issue is through killing, kidnapping and destroying? Alright then. We need to pipe down with the constant drumming about how American/Western culture is 100% bad for kids, while Nigerian culture is 100% good. Such narrowmindedness. |
lucabrasi:na them sabi. You are only agreeing that the belief is what seems to be the key element here, more than other factors. The witchdoctors cant perform without the people who believe in what they're donig. I'm sure a lot of native doctors have good laughs in private, at people's expense. Asking someone to tell all his problems to a little chicken: isnt that hilarious? The native doctors must be laffing their guts out on occasion, at people's gullibility. ![]() |
@ ken: are you serious? ![]() na wa oh. |
@ OP: its important to know the genotype before you marry or even start dating someone. No need to be sentimental about things like this. Its not easy raising a child with sickle cell. And thats an understatement. |
