If its between you and your God, then why posting it here on the world wide web for the entire universe to see?

seems to me like you just want to display your "piety", not that you're in any way actually repentant for whatever you claim to have done.

In other words, you're doing this for publicity. Or for your "partner" to see.

can you explain this verse to me:

Let your moderation be known unto all men.

Show me what these ministers you mentioned, are doing in moderation. Or does moderation only apply to church members who arent leaders?
PoliticsRe: Blacks In America by tpia: 5:46pm On Jul 24, 2008
Blacks in America have had a long and tortuous history with whites.

True, they have opportunities now that may have not been present before, but it came at a price.

The fact is, whites are the ones making the laws, and whoever has the ability to manipulate and control the legal system, has the ultimate power. So I think thats why the majority of AAs seem to be on tenterhooks all the time, and never take anything for granted the way Africans abroad tend to do.

However, some attitudes, like ignoring black on black violence while constantly harping about (white) racism, are self defeating. Same applies to Africans.

I dont watch the program, because I feel much of it has already been said at one time or the other. Maybe I'll try to catch it one of these days.
You guys cry rightly. but has the Igbo genocide ended?
No! After the 1969 have the killings not continued in Jos, Bauchi, Kano, Kaduna etc.? Even where there is a terrorist act between the Kadunas or Biroms vs the Hausa the next minute they change it to Hausa againt Igbo. Its not that They are strong but because they take us unwares. Before you organise yurself if you escapped their death the Nigerian government will send in troops commanding them to stop the Igbos from any action and at the same time to help deplomatically without a trace kill any Igbo man that the Hausas couldnt get.

The next minute the fake news including VOA, CNN, and BBC will announce that Christains and muslins are fighting, but is it true?

I remembered the last Jos crisis of 2001 how the army came and killed the remaining good souls in Bukuru.
I absolutely do not hide my feelings that we can never ever be one! The Nigerians Killed us. the Youruba and others including the Akwa Ibom and Rivers sold us out. The cameronians allowed Nigerians to cut behind us through their land.

Nigerians also stopped us from having a place in Nigeria and from being the top notch in technology today
I still resound it unless we secede we i will never take them as one, not after the killins and lootings
thats it in a nutshell.

Anyone who dares contradict these assertions, or asks for clarification, automatically becomes "the enemy".
IslamRe: Can The Christian Section Be As Quiet As The Muslim Section? by tpia: 4:16am On Jul 23, 2008
criticism is allowed . . . infact i find out it forces me to search my bible deeper, to question why i hold certain beliefs
thats it in a nutshell oh.

Any religion where I feel complacent, and which I dont find challenging, is not the religion for me.

Your reasoning is warped.
Does this Q sound intelligent to you in the course of this discus?
Who were those being sought for killing?

There were Igbos killed in Benin and Lagos
Were those Igbolands?
Or do you need help to figure out that Igbos are in virtually every nook and crany of that failed state you call Nigeria
I knew you or someone else would reply in this manner.

In case you don't know, I heard some of the people killed were non-Igbos who were mistaken for Igbos. I just wanted to see if anyone knew the same.

Most of the towns mentioned in your quote, were not in Igboland, as I pointed out.

True, Igbos were singled out in many of them, but how do you know if every single one of the people killed from Warri to Asaba, was actually Igbo?

My question did not deny the killing of Igbos in any way. I simply asked because anyone with an Igbo sounding name or who looked Igbo, could have also died during the massacre.
CultureRe: A Must Read. by tpia: 2:30am On Jul 23, 2008
a lot of the towns mentioned here where mass killings occurred, are not in Igboland.

There has been genocide on the occasion of the 1966 massacres,  the region between the towns of Benin and Asaba where only widows and orphans remain, federal troops having, for unknown reasons, massacred all the men" (Le Monde, 5th April, 1968)
Were all of the people killed in these places Igbo, or were some of them non-Igbo?
Christianity EtcRe: Our misplaced trust in Gods integrity by tpia: 12:53am On Jul 23, 2008
Babalegba:
Hi all,
Many people always talk about the holiness of God, Gods integrity and actually believe that Gods integrity is without reproach. After becoming a practising christian and walking with God for a number of years often through really testing conditions , i have come to realize through personal experience that God lacks integrity. Two categories of "christians" do not realize this, those that read the bible but spiritually have no knowledge of God and those that live in fairly normal conditions.

When the promises of God fail in their life, these two groups tend to blame themselves thinking the promises failed because of their sin, lack of faith or as a result of a test and eventually if the individuals are living in normal circumstances, life progressing along as it usually does ,their situation could change and they would be none the wiser of Gods lack of integrity.
The truth of the matter is that when a christian in unfavourable circumstances rely upon Gods word, even his explicit personal promises fail and you need to be living a fairly predictable life for this fact to escape you.
I dont see how your post is actually related to the topic.

Even in a relationship between a man and a woman, they can still read themselves wrong and have unrealistic expectations of each other. This is two people who are sleeping together, seeing each other all the time, and consider themselves soulmates or whatever.

A human being can also have unrealistic expectations of God, since He never claimed to be a magician on call all the time and pulling tricks out of a magic box.

People can pray. If the prayer doesnt seem to be answered, I still dont see how that affects God's integrity, except in the mind of the seeker.

If my parents dont give me everything I ask for, I could be hurt, but it wouldnt necessarily mean they lacked integrity.
Christianity EtcRe: Prophet Tb Joshua's Birthday Bash. by tpia: 12:08am On Jul 23, 2008
I doubt if TB Joshua is doing all this for publicity alone.

The fact is, he's very shrewd or maybe wise, and he will definitely have the support of the people he's feeding, just like Adedibu was able to sustain his stronghold on Ibadan politics with his henchmen, many of whom he supported financially.

Adedibu singlehandly sponsored someone who was too broke to pay for his own father's funeral. He (Adedibu), supplied the cows, money, food and everything needed. He even delegated some of his attendants to provide moral support.

I'm sure if that guy wasnt a Mus'lim before, he'd most likely convert afterwards.

same goes for these people being fed by T B Joshua.

The guy is just following the news, thats all. And adjusting his message accordingly. If he decides to run or sponsor someone for public office, am sure he will get enough votes.

isnt it obvious: so many religious figures accumulating wealth and sharing the wealth with other rich people. T B Joshua accumulating his own wealth but sharing some of it with the poor.

I still don't see your point.

I knew about the thread where he called himself a liar before he started this one. At least I read that topic though I didnt remember he was the one before I responded to him here.

In any case, someone getting that hot and bothered over religion, shouldnt also be calling women bitches and sluts, on an open forum. He can do one or the other, not both. Its not just the lying, its also about the language. If you're going to say things like that, then you shouldnt be presenting yourself as a Christian knight and expect to be taken seriously.

Anyway, to whoever is messing with my posts: watch yourself. undecided

If you're based abroad, its okay to send a thank you note. It shows good manners and gives the employers a positive impression of you.

It seems people are saying that in Nigeria, sending a thank you note would be a negative. hmm- that's interesting.

What Tpia did by searching through his posts has been done by other users - like razorr.

Have you forgotten when he told us to forgive him for his 'ways'?
You are missing the main point, which is that he's talking with both sides of his mouth.  And as a compulsive liar, what exactly was the credibility in what he said, that made that thread get locked even though he barely even posted there? The whole thing looks worse by the minute undecided

Accusing others of something you are doing yourself, is annoying.  Defending your favorite Man of God doesnt have to be at others expense. He has a mighty log in his eye yet is checking out the speck in others eyes, with a magnifying glass. undecided

People objecting to something a religious leader is doing, doesnt make them atheists. If that were so, every major religious figure including Jesus, Buddha and Mo'hammed, would be athiests, going by jayson's definition here.

why are women giving themselves headache about what a man does outside, they shld be glad they finally got him to marry them, besides men stay active longer then women, so they shld concentrate on the kids and developing their lives than who is the next sweet 16 their husband is seeing, because he may just be doing that to stay alive. doesnt mean he no longer loves his wife.

in some cultures even till now, women encourage their husband to get a concubine, because they knw they can't keep up with his strength any longer.
now you are hitting the nail on the head.

This is the kind of attitude this thread is about.

Its not good when its common to a majority of men.

Marriage requires hard work and commitment on both sides, not just from the woman alone. undecided
