seriously, what's with all the preening mentality.

do people actually believe they have the key to discovering the lost island of atlantis, or why do so many nigerian men constantly screech about getting "the best" of whatever female abi na cattle nationality they're riding for visa or whatever at any particular point in time.

and whatever happened to keeping your illegal activities under the radar.

nowadays they shout it from the rooftops.

oh dear.

poster, better fast and pray even if you're not religious.

you say he's not an alcoholic even though he came home smelling of whiskey.

he took his toothbrush and toothpaste when going out, and later said he might or might not be coming home.

all these point to one thing imo- he's trying to disguise whatever it was that would be smelling on his breath when he finally arrives.

these are indeed perilous times, lord have mercy. undecided

some of these men are the ones pushing women to babalawos and spiritualists i swear.

@ proudlynaija

stop quoting newspapers to probe your point.

The white doctors involved, like most other people, have never seen an albino baby before.

So dont jump for joy thinking someday you'll also have a caucasian baby.

^^yes, everything is peaceful because dissent is dealt with, whether it comes from camerounians or whoever.

if you know your entire village, LGA and region will suffer the consequences, you'll have incentives to be peaceful.

btw, these "nigerians" in cameroon- are they not cameroonians? huh

Cameroon is a blessed and peaceful country, you can ask to Nigerian brothers who live there, and they're many
not all of them have good stories to tell, but i understand it could be dangerous to voice dissent of any kind.
Culture › Re: Why Our English Speaking Brothers Think Cameroon Is A West African Country by tpia5: 12:32pm On Jun 23, 2011
because it's close to nigeria.

but you're right- it's a central african country, not a west african one.

please do not bring God into this @ the religious nutjobs.

stop giving christianity a bad name for goodness sake.

na so una go dey commit all kinds of crimes using religious mumbo jumbo.

it is impossible to have 7 babies at one month intervals within the space of one year, ok?

God doesnt work pointless miracles, alright. Adoption options are always available for people who desperately want children but cant have them.

break the cycle of scamming culture, jeez.

@ the one saying a black couple had a white baby- have you never seen an albino before? huh

proudly9ja:
Question is, what is the crime? Under what law was the woman arrested? Everything that has been stated thus far has been postulations. Last time I checked, you don't lock people up based on guesses. Maybe we need to see what the Nigerian police detention centres look like for us to understand the gravity of what we are saying.

Note that I have not said the woman is innocent. All I am saying is the police have no right whatsoever to lock the woman up unless someone has complained that they are looking for 7 kids or someone has proof that she stole/illegally got the children.

What I find even more annoying is that majority support the action of the police!!!
sad
#smh
she may have been detained, not necessarily arrested. One never knows with these reporters.

in any case, there are 7 babies involved here, of unknown parentage and origin.

she has to be questioned and interviewed in order to get as much info as possible about their origins, though i doubt she'll cooperate.

i think the mistake she and her crew made was, being uneducated, they assumed announcing such a thing was the same as the octoplet lady in texas. ie the women who had eight kids at a go in houston years back.

however, while it may be possible to carry 8 foetuses in one womb, saying you delivered 7 babies at one month intervals, beats the imagination.

Family › Re: Not Every Mother Deserves Motherly Love. by tpia5: 9:05pm On Jun 22, 2011
^^CPS works with the police to investigate cases of child abuse or child neglect, and determines whether a parent should be classified as unfit to raise their child/ren or not.

in many instances where there has been extreme cruelty to a child, it's often found the parent involved is a drug user and/or involved in lifestyles that could endanger the minor/s involved.

so it would be appreciated if you brought that into consideration instead of automatically lumping every mother into the same category.

going by your reasoning, a mother who spanks her child is abusing the kid. However, even CPS makes a distinction- there is abusive spanking and there's mild spanking. Though admittedly sometimes you might not distinguish between the two.
Family › Re: Not Every Mother Deserves Motherly Love. by tpia5: 8:46pm On Jun 22, 2011
^^the majority of the mothers you're seeing in child protective services, are on drugs.

you should always point that out before encouraging people to attack their mothers anyhow.

like i keep saying, the op is yet to convince me her mum deserves all the criticism being heaped on her here.

When did it become a crime to have 7 children in a year?
definitely not a crime to have 7 children in one year.

after all, a man can have twenty children in one month sef- its not illegal.

however, a crime was committed by SOMEBODY OR SOME GROUP OF PERSONS if you claim 7 mysterious children of the same age and different parentage suddenly sprang up in your living room out of nowhere.
