So he could be trying to turn me into his at-home-lover. That could be true, and yet the way he looks at me is diferent than before. It's warmer. Men are funny. You never know what's on their minds.
you're already his at home lover.

Maybe he enjoyed the previous day's sex, or he just got a promotion at work. Or he just got a new niece/nephew.

Any number of reasons.

However, before you start thinking of spray painting your name on his living room wall, remember the bolded portion!

Dont be surprised if he also looks at someone else that way. I'm not saying he's cheating- just that maybe its his nature to be warm and friendly. Some people are like that.

I've never heard him speak any Yoruba words but he was great in The Mummy 2.

Is he a pilot or why is he featuring in so many flight related roles.
Celebrities › Re: Girls Can U Date A Man By Urself? by tpiah: 5:52pm On May 21, 2009
interesting question.

I could, but it depends on the man. Though I wouldnt tell him I love him oh. undecided I can say I like him however.

For a naija man, its better to let him feel he's the one doing the chasing even if he isnt. Naija women (and women in general) have perfected this art.

at this junction with all the reply coming in now , i dont know how to defend myself on my kind gesture to kola

i want all those that are critizising me to know that all i did , did out of the love i had for him

i did not do all this just because he promised to marry me

at least i wasnt a kid when all this happened

i knew what i want and i went for it

i neva knew it would turn out this way

pls stop condeming me ,

i ve had enough for the past one month now after getting to know about his marriage
once again, sorry for what you're going through, but the reason people may be sounding unsympathetic is because its not the first time we've heard such stories and it wont be the last.

Many men do not marry the woman who helped them through school. Even if they do, most times their hearts might not be in the relationship and they end up emotionally absent sooner or later.  And as a Nigerian, you know the high importance men place on being the head of the home.

So, unfortunately, blowing money and feelings on a man doesnt always buy his loyalty especially if the feelings are mainly one sided as yours seemed to be.

I dont know if it was this nairaland or somewhere else that I read a story about some girl who said she dated a sugar daddy in order to help her boyfriend through college. All with the boyfriend's full knowledge. Yet as soon as the guy wrote his finals, he dumped her without much ado.

Its always dangerous for a woman to have more love for a man than the man has for her. You'll get someone else, dont worry. Just chalk this one down as life experience.

Nezed:
methink, its a gud thing he did not marry her cos, he will just be marrying her out of loyalty/duty, not becos he loves her, and Boy, he will hate her for that!
Let her marry a man that ADORES her, u know, treats her like a woman!
thank you!
Family › Re: Is It Proper For A Woman To Build Her Own House? by tpiah: 4:26pm On May 21, 2009

Hi Tpiah, Maybe I didn't phrase that properly.

What I meant is that when it comes to the kitchen there is no compromise.

Hubby & I discuss the design & furnishing of the other areas of the house and both reach an agreement. We both have different tastes & styles e.g he is a laminate flooring guy & I'm a carpet girl.

so sometimes he compromises and sometimes I compromise. . . . . But as for the kitchen; No compromise wink
oh, ok. grin

kola was in school for two good year and cant even boast of a single spoon in his room not to talk of pot and he survived for good two years, I was the one paying his school fees , hand out, I cook for him , wash his cloth, in short I never let him feel that the parent cold not help at the time he needed them most,

in return for all my gesture , kola promised that he will never betray me and that he would love me for the rest of hs life

I was so much in love that even when he offend me , I will still be the one to apologise to him
and you seriously expected him to marry you?

Sorry for your situation, but you should have just loaned him the money without expecting marriage in return.

Is this one of those nollywood threads? huh

I'm just saying dont make a bad situation worse by capturing it on tape.

Same way people are advised to practice safe sex and use condoms.
Family › Re: What Will You Do If You See Your Wife On Cameral With Her Private Being Shaven by tpiah: 3:38pm On May 21, 2009
naija women- if you're planning on marrying and settling down in the future, stop letting your boyfriends capture your unclothedness on camera!

Same goes for married women getting some nookie on the side- its bad enough as it is. Dont make it worse by featuring in a misguided porn shoot if you're not a porn star!

Family › Re: Is It Proper For A Woman To Build Her Own House? by tpiah: 3:27pm On May 21, 2009
All our properties built/bought home and abroad after the marriage are in both names. The only thing I can say was my sole input is my deciding how I wanted the kitchens to be designed & furnished
I dont disagree with what works for you, and I know most of your posts are very sensible and well thought out, but personally, I dont think I'd be happy if my sole input to a joint house design was only the kitchen. Hypothetically speaking.

That's just me sha- I'm not easygoing by nature when it comes to some things.

Omonla:
Maybe if the title of the thread was "Are Nigerian Universities Populated by Fake Academics", the OP wouldn't be attacked as being tribalist? Personally, I don't care which tribe is being attacked by who, but  it gets old, this Nairaland quarrels for 'Tribal Superiority.'  grin

At the end of the day, do these quarrels put bread on anyone's tables here? Are you able to boast to a fellow American, Canadian, British person on the subway that "I had a tribal quarel with (insert tribe here) today, and God bless me, I won!!!"  (?)

By the way, has anyone noticed that the Hausas don't get tribal attacks on Nairaland often, unlike every other tribe? Could it be because they don't care what the 'others' think of them, therefore no one tries to thrash tribal propaganda towards them?

Could it be that Hausa's are not 'important' so no one insults their tribe often except for the usual "Hausas are not educated" threads? If that argument holds (Hausas not educated), one would wonder why Hausas have ruled the country for a large portion of Nigeria's life? Maybe they are more concerned about better things than empty insults towards their fellow Hausamen?

Or maybe Hausas are not educated enough to wage a counter argument when they are attacked on an anonymous message board? (Doubtful - There must be a measure of intelligence if they can ignore deragotory comments towards them, while a minority of them work their way into ruling the country while everyone else is quarelling).

That is the measure of a 'smart' tribe.
Many bloody battles have been fought over Hausas and other tribes, here.

If you do an in depth NL search, you will weep for being Nigerian.

Right now is Yoruba bashing time. After a while, the pendulum will swing to another tribe.

No name and insult people wont throw at each other in the belief they're superior to everything in the cosmos!

Racism is a disease!

some Nigerians act like they were raised in the jungle or under a flyover (likely enough to be true). Is this governor just finding out? huh

My worry this morning is not about my political status, but when they spill over into my private life and where my children became the object of ridicule, that I will not accept. I care for their life and their future, I won’t mess them up, I will rather step down to protect their reputation,” Lamido said.

eddy1977:
Dear all
from my experience, i have come to beleive that the best place for us africans of subsaharan descent when choosing to relocate is the land that is controlled by caucasians of european descent. its obvious that white people regardless of the race card, will eventually live peacefully with us. the kind of racism you meet in non white countries is way different. for example in asian and arab (even northern africa) countries, your very presence there is a national concern. so if u r serious about relocating, remember these advices: choose pure white countries. you may encounter difficulties to penetrate but before sunset you will smile. stay away from the rest.

now the floor is open. whats your take on this.
Maybe what you mean to say is ex-colonial countries which have a known history of interacting with blacks.

That covers most of Europe and the US which didnt colonize Africa but still has African interests in any case.

I dont like the kinds of unions where the kids will start wondering why their parents dont look "normal" like other people's own.

The guy should have stuck with his first wife who probably complements his look. He dresses in hunting gear, she ties hunting wrapper. And things like that.

Not dressing in warrior outfit while your wife puts on an evening gown.

anyway, na them sabi. undecided

Not my portion in Jesus name. undecided abeg make I rebuke that kind thing.

it is rather sad that some people allowed themselves to be used by the big wigs, however, the govt needs to find a way to deal with the request of the people.
from what most people have been seeing and seen in Nigeria, there's nothing that can be done to satisfy Nigerians.

A lot of the states are slowly gearing up towards making an attempt at development. But nothing satisfies people.

The problem is innate, and one cant help but wonder where and how it began. I dont believe it started with Nigeria's creation. Rather, it was halted by it, and continued as soon as the Brits were gone.

I dont know if solely blaming Europeans for Africa's problems, is on the mark either.

Our people never get tired of war, it seems. That's our lifeblood and the values instilled in us from right within the womb.

Expect retaliatory attacks, more kidnappings, and further punishment until something gives somewhere. In a vicious cycle.

and as usual the small fry fight and die on behalf of the bigwigs staying behind/elsewhere in wealth and safety. If it isnt one thing, it'll be another.

Likewise, I have the right to point out the fact that you dont delete your own posts where you insult and curse others as if you're the only person who knows how to do so?
