What we need now is constant electricity firstly in all major towns and cities and then in every rural communities. The other things will follow automatically. |
Introversion is indeed a gift. It allows room for intuitive thinking and a lot of observation. You know the names of a lot of people even though they don't know yours (because you don't talk to them but you hear people call their names). You also learn to be your best friend and though, introverts can be shy, they have a lot of self-esteem. However, just as extroverts need to balance-up by finding time to think, introverts need to open up a little more also. Because I rarely talk, most people would think I have ni idea what's been discussed until I eventually open up. I do procrastinate calls a lot, miss all undergraduate dinners and award night (though I was to be given an award) and for a long time now, I've been using work and study as an excuse to avoid family ceremonies. On top of this, one still needs to open up a little bit. Acute introversion is a sickness on it's own the same way been too lousy is bad. |
goodnessme1:You intended to type "Yorubas should allow their " fellow countrymen " to rape, kill, kidnap and takeover their farms". That's indeed the definition of "accommodation". |
ContractKiller:I wouldn't deny that but there's still a level of wealth. Now considering how much of oil revenues they've enjoyed, poverty is still ingrained in them. So this is not religious issue but that of bad leadership. |
ContractKiller:At the bolded, if one is to consider Islam judging by the Arabs, one would say that Islam is a religion of extravagance and opulence but where did the symbolism of poverty attach itself with Islam in Nigeria? This is more about leadership than about religion. Religion is just a sword you can wield to the left or right. |
Octopusssy:The first time somebody rained insults on me on Nairaland, I felt really bad but I know I must reply him. After replying calmly and telling him how much disappointed in him I was because of his insults, he apologized. Another time, the person kept quiet. Whoever doesn't have the stomach for insults must stay off the social media. It'd be difficult to really deal with online trolls. |
Even within Osun State, citizens are divided over where the new FCE should be cited. To us, that's the dividend of good governance. What about electricity? What about good roads? What about a good and sustainable living standard? Having a school in a senatorial district doesn't provide all these so why the noise? |
Time has caught up with them. Fame is like iron, it doesn't stay floating on water for long. It will always go down. The only difference is time BTW, all those people bantering women should stop. Attaching yourselves to the morally decayed ones doesn't mean that all women are decayed. Women are getting stronger these days but you won't see that if you focus on the oloshos. |
simplesearch:I used to underrate the need for medicine until recently when I've been frequenting a top teaching hospital. That's when I figured out that it will be difficult to have the number of doctors that'll meet our needs in the health sector. This is why those who have the intelligence and willingness to study special courses like that, should be given the chance to without minding all the tribalism-inspired principles. |
If you were preparing for UTME when you read this, why won't you be more serious with your preparation now? This is why I was ranting about meritocracy that time. We shouldn't let intelligent and hardworking individuals suffer because of principles that has not favoured us as a nation. |
Most of them already disengaged themselves and still collecting the 30k. Government is not ready to make the programme effective else, Npower and NYSC is a way to develop the capacities of the youth while still paying them stipends. |
You're right. Movies have a way of affecting our values and belief system. Every time you finish watching a movie, something has changed about your orientation. So when you notice a movie following some patterns you don't accept, just stop watching it. I don't mean to sound 'extra intelligent' o but I think it would be more appropriate to put it thus : "The Dangers of African Films to Christians" |
Azmanaty:That's the world of propaganda where we live. How many people suffer from malaria in Antarctica. He left Africa, the home base of malaria and went all the way to the south pole where the few people there are scientists, 'to eradicate malaria'. |
Awesome01:One is democratically and reservedly cunning while the other is forcefully and unapologetically hungry for war but the two are the same deceitful politicians making decisions that affect the lives of all including those who think politics means nothing. |
IAmStrange:If people would do anything that contributes positively to the world, just to get known it would be better. But they just want money without leaving any value to the world, money without any improvement to the way humans live; that's the genesis of the problem many are facing in life as regards money. Ask some people, why do you want to be rich? They'd tell you your question is foolish yet, riches doesn't last if it doesn't have a value it sustains. I hope the youths will recognise this and redirect their steps. |
This is what I call Need-based policies. Not making a policy because it's what we see other countries doing. Finland might not be a noisemaker country in the world, reading anything about their lives will tell you how amazing and well-planned out the lives of the Finnish are. |
We're watching... But at the bottom line, stock markets' prices would be affected, the price of oil will definitely be affected also. Then, Nigeria will understand that modern politics is more than tribal hypocritical jingoism. Politics in the modern world is how much bluff you can call in the international realm. And whether Iran is weak or strong, they're not in the league of countries like Nigeria presently. |
CAPSLOCKED:The code that allows you to chose a religious status is the same code that allows others to a chose a particular religion. People might have used both Christianity and Islam for whatever they want but you should know that religion is like technology; you can use it for whatever pleases you. So dear sir, it insults your intelligence to lambast others of belonging to one religion or another. It's enough to keep quiet about your belief. The same intolerance we accuse those religions of, is the same thing you display when you comment carelessly. |
Litigant:Unless you're confident about your contentment and others are contented with what they have too; greed is now seen as normal in many professions and it's as if no one can be trusted again. |
Nigeria! A country where we see swindling others as smartness. We are one with our politicians and it's just painful for the few honest souls that found themselves in Nigeria. The truth I can say about Nigeria now is, the country is really fit for most of its citizens. The righteous is still suffering though. |
Someone just replied on FB and he said "the mastermind are still at the NASS. They stole 37billion." |
Inhabitable1:This image portrays something really terrible. Despite the change in our system that I strongly advocate for, I pray may we never get to a state where our coat of arms becomes this representation. |
emmyw:The rubbish began before the new year. The best thing to do is to turn a blind eye to all this kind of news |
Keenmind2019:For someone like him who comments on almost every post, being a little neutral would have helped him. But I guess, he gets something from the government hence, he probably deserves it. |
Angelfrost:There are still some of us, though young and uninterested in politics, but we can assure you of our integrity. So don't lose hope. Losing hope makes you become like one of them. |
Believing in God outstretches Biblical records. In essence, if you don't believe in a supernatural being, you can never believe in what the bible records. So the op doesn't believe in God hence, he's using what he doesn't understand about the bible as an escape route. Religion has failed but please who created religion? It's man. And has anything not failed that was created by man? I hope you discover within yourself, the origin and source of all things that were and still are. Then, maybe the Bible will make sense to you. |
It's time we stop blaming all these people for being corrupt. In my opinion, it's not their fault. If Nigeria has majority of her leaders deep into corruption, what confidence do you and I have that we won't also be corrupt if we were in their shoes. It's our system that allows it but all we do is grumble and rant online. After that, nothing happens. When the citizenry wakes up enough to call of execution as capital punishment for corrupt public officials, then maybe our system will be better. But for now, corruption in Nigeria is our fault. We've been on this a long while yet, we haven't call for any change. |
Typhoonsbane:The first one "NO". The second one " that's ma nigga" |
Slawormir:The kind of huzzle that should be every where. Bless your huzzle bro! |
Freshfish4:Are you forgetting that most stupid things are always very colorful and attractive? I believe it's not Naira Marley that's solely responsible. They're all showing the stuffs they're made of like I'm showing the stuffs I'm made of when I consciously choose what to do without yielding to pressures. |
rusher14:So sad to say this but we don't need to look for the bigwig politicians before we find those who're spoiling the country. Do you understand the term "government worker". If you do, then you probably have a peep into the source of the country's rot. |
