Shukuakukobambi:It's very easy to know where the log of election would fall in Oyo state especially when talking about the major competitors. The perceptively favoured candidate of most indegenes (especially Ibadan people) is Seyi Makinde. Right from the time Ajimobi was sworn in for second time, fingers have been crossed for Seyi to become the next governor. This is the major hand Seyi Makinde is having and if you look at incidents in Oyo state in recent times, Seyi has been acting as the "next-in-line, criticizing Ajimobi and promising to be different. Akala doesn't have any chance mainly because many people were not expecting him to contest again even though people don't really like him as such. For ADC, I don't think they have any major candidate that'll make Oyo Sate people drooling. Perhaps with Seyi Makinde but as it is, Ladoja, all the Lamites, Lanlehin and so on; they are not formidable enough. Meanwhile, Accord party still exists with some of former Ladoja loyalists who have now turned against him. Strength and unity of the party is one of the major factor that'll determine the next governor in Oyo state. The other one is the candidate PDP has (Seyi Makinde) but they don't have much strength. ADC don't really have any strength nor any candidate the indegenes are ready to die for. APC has Ajimobi and this Bayo is already spreading money anyhow (I unfortunately witnessed him spreading bundles of #100 notes on the streets). So APC still has the largest hold and whoever Ajimobi supports (the man is kinda feared though) will make it really difficult to beat APC. |
Shukuakukobambi:People really think Oyo's people's support is totally unwavering. For now, Ladoja doesn't have the respect he used to have in Oyo State (especially Ibadan) again since the Dasukigate period and all his defections across parties. The only reason people might want to support Seyi Makinde is because he's been contesting for gubernatorial seat for several elections period. Meanwhile, APC that people think doesn't have hold in Oyo State still has a very strong hold. I can say it categorically that despite all the Lamists that have defected from APC in Oyo state, it will be difficult to beat whoever Ajimobi supports. Not because Ajimobi is well loved, but because he has a better hold of the state and the party itself. The power of the incumbent especially one with Federal might can't be easily underestimated. Whoever want to rule Oyo state outside APC needs to rally support beyond Ibadan. Ibadan alone cannot win election for any candidate. Even Ajimobi is desperate to become a godfather. |
micskales:That's for you to see people who wouldn't read content but will look for shortcut to show they understand what's at stake. If that education bank is implemented with the way Nigeria is going, a world of extreme anarchy is what will follow with hundreds committing suicide because of misery. Africa is yet not wise. These guys want us to copy what's obtainable in US where getting well paid job is not that difficult instead of looking inwards and solving our problems in a unique way. |
MyGeneration:And your excellency thinks that making degrees hard will automatically generate a lot of employment? Your lordship even said that "education is not for everybody". Should we pray that your type, with this statement of yours, should become a major leader in the country? Please check your comment and rethink sir. |
GoTV:That's a huge lie from the pit of hell. Even if you don't see the politician going to campaign in the mosque, what about imams telling Muslims in the mosque not to allow Christian rule them? Is that not a way of telling the Muslims, "do not vote for any Christian"? Nigeria is too religious (without morality) and it is the root of our political problems. So stop telling us it's church or mosque. Meanwhile, what's a program organized for youths with a venue in Lagos doing with campaign for Delta gubernatorial seat? Let's learn to judge critically but logically. |
You don't even have any and don't deserve all you've enjoyed at all... This man is using style to tell us that he is a confident law breaker compared to Adeosun who deceptively broke the law. |
You're even going far. Just ask him if he would be in the ministry todat if he had been a farmer. Let's ask him about all those benefits they enjoyed from the FG in their own time so much that they came back, set up consultancy services and still collecting money from government. They enjoyed everything Nigerian, and yet it is their lot that spoilt the country for us. QuickStandard: |
K'olorun májẹ ki a seesi ku... |
Franzinni: |
Who then will stop one man era in Lagos state? These two parties ought to keep quiet and look for other means of propaganda. There is nothing ideologically, behaviorally or culturally different between the two parties. |
Lool...literally Ajobiewe senator modath: |
And yet feminists think it is women and women alone who get cheated, subjugated and exploited. Why is it that most ladies are desperate to get undue advantage from men? |
Celebrating them because despite the bad leaders every section of the country has suffered from, Nigeria has a people is still struggling to ensure something good comes out of desolation made by our prodigals (bad leader). You're so on point. Let's grow above ethnicity, bigotry and so on. Every part of the nation has suffered from a single disease, corruption. If not Anambra like many other Nigerian states could have grown to become economic giants. nextstep: |
Don't mind them jor. Let's also start creating threads to celebrate our friends and colleagues who do remarkable things. Tonimagnificent: |
Why should the companies keep making money without paying taxes when due? Sometimes when laws are being enforced, there's always this feeling of "our government is wicked". |
naijacentric:Exactly! We are the ones holding down ourselves. We are the one who needs to wake up and do everything independently. |
When he was busy watering their grounds with his seeds, was je drunk. Now they're demanding for their sacrifices like gods he's whining. |
OlaAshawo:You mean little FG's presence? Don't they have SGs and LGs? |
naijacentric:I guess there will be a national blame here. Our lecturers are only giving us what they were given. Is it not a common saying that "you can't give what you don't have"? The white man sampled down an educational system that'll make us dependent. Ours as a nation is to determine our national problems and find out unique, environmentally friendly ways of solving those problems through our education system. But we've refused to do that. The country is not developing and even the quality of the 'half-education' we've been getting is reducing. |
If education is about what is given to us in this regimented system, then our graduates no matter what, will remain unemployed. Firstly, we don't get educated according to the needs of our environment which could have enabled us to become problem solvers. Secondly, the regimented education being given to us is such that will make you ever dependent in thinking and creativity. How then can someone be employable in that regard? In my opinion, we have to broaden our horizon and go FAR beyond what is being fed us by the school system. Let's dig deep and pursue knowledge. This is when somebody is truly educated. |
viosky:You pick a side to fault, give reasonable reasons and you'll get both. Let's do some academic juggle here. |
Ezedon:Lol... |
Ehiscotch:You don't want responsibility again abi? I don sight you. But seriously had I know childhood is the sweetest part of human life, I'd have enjoyed my childhood more and refused to be bothered by adults who wanted me to be 'serious'. |
nextstep:Well, I'm still surprised with the kind of responses I'm seeing here. What it takes to manage a country like Nigeria is more than the patience Sowore decided not to exercise with his visit to Ooni. If he failed to exercise patience that could have granted him favorable view from the traditionalists and the Africanists, where will he get the patience to lead Nigeria? I learnt a similar lesson not quite and no matter how much you're wronged, you'd still be wrong if you refuse to repay wherever way you're wronged by doing the right thing. Sowore disrespected the whole Yoruba culture with what he did. How should we trust someone who has no respect for culture or modernism now means we should be blind to what belongs to us? I know the real Yorubas are on the streets and they'll never understand the fact that the Ooni delayed him. What they'll all say is "the man that has no respect for our culture". |
katunboy:He/she is probably unaware that Notherners are the most fearful of serving in the East. They are very aware of political tensions around and they know what's up with the two regions. Meanwhile, westerners don't find ut difficult to cope in the east. Forget all the online rantings.i still prefer the east (after my home) to the North. |
Yambee:Just maintain your lane wherever you are. The east is really cool. I'm enjoying this place. |
Ojima23:People should just remembered how Jonathan stank to Nigeria during an election period like this four years ago. The same is about to be repeated here with this Saraki man. Thing is, why can't we shame this guys and ditch them for some new sets? |
Abi! I was about asking why all of a sudden this man has become our new hero when few months after Buhari came in, everyone was calling for his neck, calling him a thief because of CCT issues. Now that Buhari has failed us, we're opting for another untrustworthy leader. How then are we different even the youths, from our parents recycling the same set of failed leaders? Can't we find another person to support outside this cycle. Is this not the beginning of another addition to our national headache? midolian: |
...is a good thing. |
Reference:But language scholars refer Nigerians as L2 (second language) users of English. Mother - tongue is still mother - tongue whether you can speak it or not. So you're still L2 user though you say you know no other language. |
This is one of the reasons why reading is important no matter your age or class. For second language users of English language like Nigerians and since it's our formal language, it's only more beneficial if we improve daily in the usage of the language especially the written language. At the same time, I'd never relegate my mother's tongue. No language is as beautiful as my own language. |
We must learn to separate religion from politics. This is a vey bad example we Christians are setting. You will never find a Muslim politician campaigning in a mosque. We Christians are just making Islam appear better than Christianity
