Nice project.

These are the things I love to see across Nigeria.

BTW, the picture quality (abi na filter😁) of the camera is awesome!

It's garnished with filter or graphics or whatever you can call it. It's my area, quality road nevertheless...road should be about 1.5 kilometres but should be less than 2km if I have not mistaken.

Education / Re: Today's Mock Jamb Was Indeed A Mockery by transient123(m): 3:10pm On Mar 31, 2023
Mummyfour:
Students from far and near went to their different jamb exam centers to write the mock exams today.

The exam was supposed to be in two batches.
There was a batch A that was slated for7 am and candidates were expected to have been seated by 6:30 am, then there was the 9 am batch and the candidates were also expected to have been in their centers by 8:30 am.
I actually took my daughter to the CBT professional test centre at bwari FCT not few metres away from the JAMB head office here In Abuja, that was her center.
It was an annoying situation when even as at 12:30 pm the candidates that were billed for the 7am exams had not started.

Parents that were waiting for their children became apprehensive and couldn't just understand what the delay was about.
Most of the children had not eaten and some parents had actually done drop off with the mind of coming later for their ward.

Most of the children that had been dropped off, had no money, phones or even food because they felt they could endure whatever hunger until after the exams.

At about 12:40pm, 3 coaster buses drove into the centre and the staff and security personnel at the centre began to direct some of the children to get on the buses.
In the process, some parents raised alarm and began to shout even as they wondered at the rationale behind such action.
At a point some of the children that had seen parents yelling at them to get off the buses, quickly did.

Meanwhile before then, no body not a even staff came out to address the waiting parents as to what was really going on, and when parents asked them, all they were told was that network was slow thereby affecting "thumb printing", for 6 hours?

It was at the point when parents were yelling at the gate that the Registrar of Jamb drove in with 3 Hilux trucks of security men armed to the teeth.

He grudgingly stepped out to address the parents because they compelled him to.
Before then, parents had begun to look for snacks and drinks for their children who had started complaining of hunger. They kept on coming to the gate to talk and complain to their parents, because they were not in the exam hall, but under a makeshift tent.
Some were even feeling sleepy and tired after staying up late to read at night.

The Registrar with every sense of pomposity told us that we were breaking the law because we came close to the gate to give our hungry children food and drinks.
It's not as if they made any provisions for the children o.

We were even expecting him as a father to sympathize with the children and beg them for understanding being their fault that their systems were not working.

When he said that, all hell let loose.
Parents began to scream at him out of anger, because we were expecting some kind of explanation or even apologies. Instead he told us that we should not have come close to the gate.

I asked him how we would have been able to pass on the food items to our children, and that if they had done the right thing, there would not have been any reason for parents to come close to the gate.
At that question, he began to ramble and tell us stories of network failure and all those annoying lies.

He subsequently told us that the second batch were to get on the buses and go and write the exam in jamb office.

A parent asked how the children will come back to the original center they were posted and he swore that the buses will bring them back

To cut the story short, the exams actually started at 3:45pm and ended at 5:30pm.

And the shocker we received was that those children that were taken to the jamb office had to trek all the way back to their former center, except for those that their parents took them their with either bikes or vehicles.

I don't know when we will get it right in this country.
Ordinary mock jamb in FCT..
So how would it be in other states and local government areas?.

It keeps getting worse every year.
And those children came out of the center broken, dissolutioned, and frustrated. You could see the children that were all fired up in the morning, and ready to do justice to the Mock exam, coming out very cold and troubled.

I have said it, let us go back to the days of shading with HB pencil abeg
It's not worth it.
We can't seem to get any thing right in this country.
Ordinary computer based test?

Mods please push to front page

I knew it will get messy when I was told I had to go to Abeokuta for my son to do mock exam, MOCK in Abeokuta from Lagos, who does that. I didn't even blink, outright cancellation.....he will prepare himself and will pass his exams by His grace. 6.30am and 9am batches kawai.

I just dodged a bomb of ineptitude, it shall be well with us as a people.

Celebrities / Re: AY: I Lost N500 Million Opening A Non-Smoking Night Club by transient123(m): 2:59pm On Mar 31, 2023
hitng:
Popular comedian and actor, Ayo Makun, known by his stage name, AY, has opened up on losing 500 million Naira to a nightclub business which did not permit smoking.

He said during a recent interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo that the nightclub crashed after a huge investment.

According to AY, his wife advised him against the decision but he refused to heed and he later regretted not listening.

He narrated how he would visit the club on Fridays but it will be empty and he did not realise that having a club where people don’t smoke is bad for that type of business.

The comedian said the reason he made it a non-smoking club was because anytime he and his wife go to clubs, she always comes back with her hair smelling of smoke.

The stand-up comedian said he was motivated to do it by the mere fact that he could fill up event centres for comedy shows.

He said:

Every presidential election cycle, losers would go to court. None of them ever asked for ING. The process of handover would take place while the court matters are going one. Why do you want it different this time? Is it becuase this is the first time a presidential candidate of Igbo extraction Igbos is on the ballot? What does that tell of Igbos as a tribe?

It's probably the first time a "saint" is the flag bearer of a party and he represent the only hope of a people or tribe, other things matters not 😂.

DSS did not mention Labour Party in their press statement so why is Labour Party taking this personal? Are they planning to overthrow a legitimate government? Are they planning an insurrection?

These LP kids don’t even know what they are doing. They think they can usurp political power by making noise on the street? When Donald Trump and his gang of election deniers invaded Capitol Hill, did they succeed? How exactly did Peter Obi think he will be allowed to get away with an insurrection in a country like Nigeria?

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be sworn in as president on May 29th, 2023. We will never allow a gang of losers to derail our democracy.

Was just thinking why LP replied to this allegation of insurrection or interim govt....anyways, all these are just games.....if LP is truly culpable of the phantom allegation and LP is also falling into the same trickery, it means LP and its adherents are the most stupid people after their inordinate mandate and noise about winning elections.

How can intelligent group of people fall for this type of trap. Later, they will start wailing and playing the victim cards as usual. There should be wisdom in everything, Politicking isn't an exemption.

In this scenario of bigger motives, what’s the end game?. I’m genuinely curious. Is it like a world where it’s illegal for men to marry women and vice versa? And people will be punished for having traditional families?

The end game is a world of satanic rule. It's end product is to ensure multitude deny the Almighty and live under the spell of the real Satan in full force. All these government and pronouncement are just wetting the ground for their master to accede to his throne. It will definitely be chaotic for anyone that dares to challenge the rule.....the world is fast gravitating to his emergence. SAD though!

Even though we know a whole lots of these people engage in one illegality or the other, mentioning Mr Obi is needless and unnecessary.

Okey Ahiwe (PDP) - 88,529 votes

Labour Party won the election with 86,938 votes .

Good he won, am elated too. Abia will now be the new template to assess LP, even though the presidential flag bearer had no template we can use as benchmark, aside ethnic, religious bigotry and the money saved in bank which was tagged worthless by an incumbent.

Fingers crossed.

FOLYKAZE:
Electronic Voting on national level cannot be compared with local election within a state. Reason is that this electronics have more than 500000 ways of manipulating it. Believe you mean, the memory slot where the votes are store can be manually changed, hacked or destroyed remotely. Moreso, results can be intercepted during transmission. There are tons of loopholes desperate politicians can exploit to manipulate results. The Government might also collude with INEC to pre-programmed to favor a candidate.

Judging from the attacks on irev portal in the recent president election, report has it that there was more than 10000000 attacks on a single day. Now factor that big electronic distributed in about 180000 Polling units, imagine the different alterations, disruptions and manipulations that can be deployed to favor a politician?

Oga we need nation reorientation..... Not this big big machine

This is what a lot of Nigerians whose candidates lost out in the just concluded elections seem not to understand, they are now clamouring for all round electronic. You have just itemized the inherent issues of full scale electronic voting system, infant, it's the easiest in terms of manipulation especially with these sets of over desperate political class that can wipe out their families for power.

If Hilary Clinton could be short-changed because of electronic voting system, Nigeria's alteration of result electronically will be a child's play.

Our solution is simple, demystify money politics and ensure ease of participation, pay politicians like civil servants or public servants, give room for independent candidates and fortify our institutions by making them independent of manipulations.

Let the end of tribalism start with you. Now u know Gbadebo is a good leader, he is also half igbo and half yoruba. Let us now show yorubas we are not tribalists.. Can we now gather our self to buy labour party Governorship candidate form for Gbadebo for Anambra governorship to contest against soludo. So he can use his wonderful ideas to change Anambra.. So that when yorubas see what he has done in turning anambra and continuing the legacy of obi.. Lagos can now vote him in after Sanwolu... I think is a good idea.. Don't you think.. Let Eluupee people push this my idea.. Or let Our celebrities contribute and buy the LP governorship form for Anambra for him.. Someone must show others how it is done. You don't just shout tribalism is bad.. Act to show it.. Let Gbadebo who is competent, obi agrees zoo that he is competent.. Let him rule anambra..

Same free advice I said yesterday. Good GRV has Igbo blood line, he can show us how it's done in Anambra, then we can beat ourselves and wail forever knowing we threw away a jewel by not supporting him despite him calling us afonja, despite him leading a headless mob to burn some of our treasures in the name of a fathom massacre where the identity of the victims are still not known till date. At Least, if the army killed and went away with their corpses, their parents, guardians, colleagues and even friends can come online and tell the whole world his/her friend was missing after going to the tollgate to protest.

Some persons still do not understand the principles of being good neighbours and not poking the eyes of your neighbours irrespective. Hausas, ibibios, kanuris, Efiks, Igalas and other major tribes live in Lagos, why is the affront of my Eastern neighbours overbearing, why same in South Africa, why same in present day Ghana, why same in present day Lagos......why not others, something is fundamentally not right.

Stop playing the victims card, do self appraisal, you had address fundamental issues.

I have transversed every nooks and crannies of Nigeria as an Engineer, I have been to the north east, North Central, South south and south east, I know the psyche of an average Nigerian based on geographical location, I know where I can not advice any enemy to stay and live because of hostilities and what have, I know where you are a persona non grata especially when it's known that your disappearance will cause no harm to the community.....

I wish everyone in this enclave respect his/her identity and ensure boundaries are not crossed as much as possible, by so doing, there would be mutual respect and fundamental trust.
