From what I know, Christianity is a religion that teaches love for oneself and others. But the thing is that, for one to practice this love, the individual should already have the capacity to love. Christianity does not have what it takes to change anyone into a better person. Most Nigerians are self selfish and self centered and Christianity cannot do much in changing that. After becoming born again ,they pretend for a while and like a dog to its vomit, they revert to their old ways. Christ, according to them, has died for all your sins both the old and the new ones and even more the ones you're yet to commit. You're covered by grace . So therefore, you can live your life as before .Nothing spoil Yahoo boys and corrupt politicians are prominent members of most of these churches and they are not ready to change but instead are praying and fasting for success in what they do. Pastors pray and bless them all the time. What most of the so called Christians are good at is pretentious Holiness I know of friends and family members who claim to have become born again and even went to Bible school and ended up becoming pastors but still hold on to grudges they had with others before becaming born again. If you come across a loving Christian, just know that the person has been a loving person before now. It is not my business how people choose to live their lives. But no wicked person hiding under Christianity should go about telling others to change from their evil ways. That is hypocrisy |
The Op's argument is a fallacious one. He has committed the fallacy of false analogy. There can be no comparison between Seun, the owner and creator of nairaland, and an almighty God that is believed to have created the world we all live in. Even if we all agree that both can be compared , it is still not enough reason to cast Seun in the mold of almighttyness. If a law is not meant for you , and you go on to act not minding it, you have not violated it in anyway even when others around you that the law is meant for are obeying it. The Op cannot pretend not to know the reason for the restriction placed in the Muslim section. Due to the fact that the forum is a faceless one, some persons go to that section regularly to make comments they would dare not make if they know that their true identity offline could be easily identified. How many of such persons who are in the habit of making those vile comments in the Muslim section dare go to their Facebook page where they can be easily identified to nsult the Muslim prophet and risk what would come with it? Seun case is different. unlike most of us here, is not hiding. He is well known not only on this forum but worldwide. For this reason, he cannot afford to behave like those who hide here to make hatefilled comments in the Muslim section. And so, it would not make any sense for anyone to expect him to swear to something that should not concern him . The Op Should provide a valid reason why God should bypass his laws And how does the Op even know that God can bypass any of his laws? If God works in mysterious ways, as I am sure he agrees to ,is not possible then that he, unlike imperfect humans, still can obey the laws he has created ? One struggles to see how ordinary humans get automatically conferred with almightyness for disregarding a law or rule they are not even supposed to obey in the first place The Op's argument is a very weak one . Instead of accepting this and find a way to make amends or to discontinue the conversation, he has been busy trying to shift responsibility for his failure on others by accusing people of not understanding the nonsense he has written. |
The sheepies will obey because they can't think for themselves. Nothing last forever. It's just a matter of time freedom will come for the minds that have been enslaved. |
@op I understand your pains. It is obvious you feel cheated because of what you have come to discover about the condition of her womb. But is it possible she wasn't even aware ? Since she wasn't married before or tried to get pregnant for someone else, I don't think she would have found it necessary to check for anything. Whatever the case ,its obvious you don't really love her . The reason I say this is because I know of someone who found himself in the same situation as yours. It wasn't even an issue for him. He understood it was her past and was a mistake. No lady in her right senses would deliberately do abortion in order to damage her womb. So what did the person I am talking about do? He stood by her and from one doctor to another, several miscarriages and even still birth, the wife finally gave birth. This was a period of about 8 years. Love doesn't last forever or something that just grow on it's own . It is won everyday by the things you do to keep the flame of love aglow. The problem is yours and not hers. You got married to someone you never truly loved. If you get a new wife with a perfect womb and after getting married something then happens to the womb, what would you do then? |
SexyBabe001:Your reply shows you didn't take the time to read my response. You said it was obvious the pastors were lying. Why did you say so? Was it not because of what the Bishop has said? You created a thread and commented on it but are unwilling to take criticism for what you started. Oyedepo has not set any "record right" from anything he has said. The issue has to do with money and he is silent about the actual source of the church revenue. Once that is known, nobody will accuse him of employing pastors to make money for the church .So what are you talking about? Anyway its enough now. Let's end the conversation. Have a wonderful day |
Ogbuefi2020:The Benins never at any time sold itsekiris as slaves. If you think they did, then tell us the history. You certainly don't know the strong connection that exist between the Benins and the itsekiris. The fact that you can't even spell the name of the tribe correctly shows that you don't know anything. |
Hardfacts234:Tell us the history of the Benin and itsekiri slaves amongst your people |
SexyBabe001:Nothing in what your pastor has said has proven the pastors were lying. If someone accuses you for being a thief or a scammer because of the extravagant way you spend money and reports you to the police, the only way you can defend yourself is to provide proof of how you earn your money legally to show that you're not involve in any criminal activity whatsoever. Now , the sacked pastors have said the reason for the sack was because the church told them that they were not generating enough income. Since the accusation has to do with money, we expected your pastor to have directly address it by providing enough proof of how exactly the church makes its money to build those churches and also pay the pastors their salaries regularly so as to clear the church name that they never at anytime asked the pastors to bring new members for money. Unfortunately, there's nothing in his address that has shown exactly how his church earn its revenue other than a very embarrassing attempt to pull the wool over people's eyes. Or does winners chapel, print money secretly? My opinion is that if your pastor believes he his doing good for the larger society through his church business he should have remain silent and allow people say whatever they want. As for the pastors themselves, I think they were stupid for complaining. They can't pretend not to know what the person who employed them wanted them to do or not to know how the church makes money to pay their salaries. |
Vivien458:I may only advise if I know why exactly you believe you under a curse. The truth of matter is that if you're really under what you think is a curse you won't even know it except if someone else draws your attention to the fact based on what they have observed. But you shouldn't just believe anyone who tells you that you're under a curse. Curse or not you're the only one who has the power to change your situation. You just need to drop your fears |
The pastors were sacked because the system which LFC operates is now working against them. More sacking is coming unless something changes. The church and the members continue to live in denial Why would a Church registered as a non profit organisation employ pastors and put them on a fixed salary not allowances from the irregular tithes and offerings given by the faithful? How does that make any sense to anyone? I don't see how those pastors would have been sacked if their pastoring was voluntary. Pastors who work or operate voluntarily in other churches do it wholeheartedly because they believe they were called by God and he, God, would provide what they need to survive as long as they continue to serve him. This is what some of us, in the past, observed, knew and understood while growing up and attending churches . These days everything keeps changing and people are getting confused What I see in LFC is very close to how a ponzi scheme operates where Peter(the faithful) is being robbed to pay Paul (pastors) and when it becomes difficult to get any new "Paul" things start to crumble. Sacking of pastors and closing of churches starts to happen. BTW when did we start having the words; pastors, employ, salary and sack in the same sentence? Is it that these Pentecostal churches are operating with a different Bible ? I also like to ask , does church growth now means more members or the impact a few faithful members have on the larger society? Has the statement "many are called but a few chosen changed to many are called but many must be chosen ? |
Vivien458:It may not be what you think. In other words ,you may not be under a curse. |
Which of the God(s)? |
Ishilove:How do you know church growth in winners chapel is not the same as "income generation" when the church has remained silent on the exact criteria used in determining this growth? If you have any info as to what constitute church growth in that church please let the public know so that "heck circulating" on the Internet is stopped |
pafra:What is it you have said that has made any sense? Nothing |
pafra:It seems you like to ramble If the main concern for the Church is the winning of souls and not money, why bother at all whether they the souls bring or don't bring money? Why not focus on the job God has called you to do and let him reward you with prosperity Or are you God's Chief accountant to take account of his finances ? |
Lifestone:The pastor dragged winners chapel to social media because he is an insider who knows exactly what goes on in that church that the public is not aware of. BTW which other Pentecostal church in Nigeria you think would employ a pastor that was openly disengaged by oyedepo who is seen as infallible by most, if not, all Pentecostal Christians Except those pastor open their own church or find something else to do , their ability to fend for themselves and their dependents has been greatly jeopardized. I don't think they were paid any disengagement benefit. If they were, then they should use the money to set up something for themselves. But I doubt if they were paid any |
pafra:You just rambled without mentioning the exact source of your Church revenue |
FODA:If they were doing the job because of the salary as you have said above, then it means only one thing which I am sure you already know |
This is for those defending the decision of winners chapel in sacking its pastors What is the actual source of the money used in paying employed pastors in winners chapel? How does the church make money to pay its pastors? Is the money coming from God directly? Answer the above questions honestly to wake up from your sleep . |
MaxInDHouse:What is racism? Do you know the meaning? Or maybe you have your own definition because I fail to see how any of those you mentioned above contribute to racism. If you think they do, please give instances of how |
Image123:If you have understood anything, the reference to the color of Jesus is just one example of implicit racism which the op discussed and it doesn't prove I am racist in anyway or against Jesus. Why are you reacting negatively if you have not mentioned or imagine a white Jesus How am I racist if the colour of God or Jesus is not Known in the Bible? You head is not there at all. Trying to guilt trip me is a stupid gimmick which I won't fall for I am sure a lot of people have read the topic but you the only one who has been displaying a lack of understanding Should it not worry you? Your problem is that you don't know the difference between explicit and implicit racism. The op has already advised you to know the difference before participating in any discussion concerning racism. We are discussing implicit racism right now .So all your accusations are off And sorry , you lack the awareness to know what has been done to you. Next time make sure you understand very well a topic before commenting so as not to exposé your ignorance |
MaxInDHouse:What do you mean? |
Image123:You have not seen God or Jesus before and nowhere in the bible did we have a mention of their colour. So tell me the reason for your anger if the op says there's a lot wrong with you when you imagine God or Jesus as white. How did arrive at the conclusion that God and Jesus are white when it is not even mentioned in the bible. Do you know that there are black Jews and that the lineage of Jesus is known to be black and not white. Well that's not what I am interesting in. Just tell me from the bible how you got to know that Jesus or God is White |
MaxInDHouse:Not true that people promote racism through pagan customs and festivals. Infact when you regard your traditional African religion has pagan belief and by contrast foreign religion ( christhianity, Islam) as holy, you're implicitly contributing to racism. |
Image123:If the op is beyond your comprehensoin , then don't force yourself to comment You have been exposing your ignorance and at the same displaying childish behaviour with all you have done here. The reference to Jesus is not the main point of the issue under discussion. If you have failed to understand that ,then it's your problem to deal with. Please I don't find any pleasure in engaging a religious zombie like you. It should end now. Goodnight. |
MaxInDHouse:Good that your group has been able to use the bible in a positive way. Happy it has worked for you. But the discussion here is how we implicitly contribute to racism. My reference to the colour of Jesus should be understood in the context of the op and not that I am against you practicing your religion |
MaxInDHouse:OK. The end justify the means then |
orisa37:How is it rooted in the Genes? |
Image123:The subject matter of the op is not to discuss the color of your God or Jesus but how we implicitly contibute to racism. If my reference has pricked you, then know that not everyone imagine God or Jesus as white. BTW why jump in here to attack the personality of Lordreed? Where did that came from? If you have issues with him before now, has your Jesus ask you to pursue him here. Please don't derail the thread. If you can't find any meaning in the op, please get something else to engage you |
Image123:You have a whole lot of issues to deal with. I am not your cure. Please find help elsewhere |
Image123:The answer is in the op |
Image123:Why should you even imagine God or Jesus if it is real to you? |
