Image123:If your God has helped you to appreciate yourself better, then you should be in a better position to appreciate others no matter what they stand for. |
MaxInDHouse:What is the colour of Jesus of Nazareth? Black or white? |
LordReed:Thanks. Will go through the link |
MaxInDHouse:You have only looked at the t title without reading and understanding what was written after. Please take your time to understand the op so we can discuss better. I am not against your group or what you think you're doing to eradicate racism but .my aim is to make every black person realise that we might just be unconsciously contributing to racism while claiming to be totally against it. This is it. How do you know that you're not contributing to racism by your unconscious behavior |
MaxInDHouse:Sorry sir. I am afraid you don't understand the op at all |
DoggoneDogg:It is very possible the people he met have the special ability to perceive the thought form of the uncle floating I around him. But it is a lie that the uncle , by this , possesses the power to control his destiny. |
MaxInDHouse:This thread wasn't opened to discuss any group fighting racism but to create awareness about the things we unconsciously do as black people to promote it. This is what the op is all about .Please focus on that so the thread don't get derailed. I am not going to mention any group as you requested because I don't want to influence anyone joining anything . No group is perfect. They all have their dark side unknown to the public But I know there better religious organization than JW.. It is your responsibility to find this out for yourself so you can know if your group is lying to you or not. |
MaxInDHouse:Well, I don't think I would like to mention the name of any group since I don't want to promote any However, there's a member of this forum who post regularly nearly everyday on this board to promote his religious group. He has been here for a long time. You don't find him engaging in any confrontation with anyone . Unlike you, thats in the habit of responding with insults or snide comments, this person has been quietly doing his thing And having flirted with that group in the past ,I know they have members from different parts of the world who don't discriminate amongst themselves Infact ,they are more united than any other group that I know and can think of. Maybe I am saying because of my past involvement with them. But the truth is that I witnessed and experienced what I am talking about. So quit that thinking that your group is the only one where members don't discriminate amongst themselves |
MaxInDHouse:Your group is not the only one that has members drawn from different parts of the world and are united in worshipping their God. I know of several groups who are far more united and peaceful than yours and they don't make any noise about it. Inspite of your boast ,,racism is still here with us. If you believe racism has been defeated within your group but it still exist outside of it, then I am afraid you're living in denial. I rather you looked within yourself and be aware of how you might be contributing to it |
What every African should know. How do we defeat *racism*, if we ourselves don't understand the difference between " *IMPLICIT* " and " *EXPLICIT* " racism ? Get informed and learn how to consciously debate or discuss racism if confronted with it. https://www.verywellmind.com/implicit-bias-overview-4178401 *Get informed about IMPLICIT and EXPLICIT racism...* _What every black person must know about racism_ *Explicit* racism includes any speech or behaviors that demonstrate a conscious acknowledgement of racist attitudes and beliefs. By contrast, *implicit* racism includes unconscious biases, expectations, or tendencies that exist within an individual, regardless of ill-will or any self-aware prejudices. Making ourselves to be more conscious about the "Topic" *Racism* _Simple explanation_ : Unconscious racial stereotypes are a major example of implicit bias. In other words, having an automatic preference for one race over another without even being aware of this bias. So any time you imagine that God or Jesus to be White, then there's a lot wrong with you. * Footnote* Topic inspired and paraphrased from a friend's WhatsApp chat. |
How do you expect to break free when you already accepted the lie that your relative has power over you. Your relative is not the source of your problem but the people you went to consult.. Nobody has the power to control your destiny unless you allow them |
Calitoscassius:And who tells you bias cannot be countered with objectivity? If you think I am bias then say the right thing.or tell me why you're very certain her story is true. That would help to counter what you regard as my bias Right now, everyone has one bias or the other concerning the case and you are not exempted .No one knows the other story other than hers. |
Calitoscassius:No emotions. I explained why I no longer consider her story true based on the exact things she did during and after the incident . Instead of labelling it as my bias or emotions,, counter all I have said or tell more of what don't know. I have not jumped into any conclusion. I only said I no longer believe her story to be true. So I have not really judged her a murderer. |
For anyone who has read my comments on this thread concerning the case at hand, this is just to let you know that my opinion about the girl has changed. I no longer think her story makes any sense whatsoever. She did not scream for help when she was been attacked by the man and didn't make any attempt to run away from the room. Why? She claim she was high and didn't know exactly what she was doing but she knew exactly where to stab him that can actually result in death; twice to the neck and then the stomach. if she didn't intend to kill him or wanted him dead ,why watch and allow him bleed to death without calling for help to save his life. I read the girl's confession again and got to noticed for the first time, the offhanded manner she mentioned that the man was lying on the floor while she dressed up to leave the apartmen without any consideration or sympathy for him dying man. I ask again , why did she not do anything to save the Iife of the man who at this point is no more a threat to her. If she is claiming self defence, why the third strike to the stomach when the first two strike to the neck is enough to put him down and make him unable to stand up to attack her again. Her story no longer make sense to me. Concerning the withdrawals, ATM machines in Nigeria allows a maximum of between 150k to 2000 daily. So if according to the report she has withdrawn 380k , it means she did the withdrawals on separate days. She really was after the money and was willing to risk going to the ATM everyday to empty the account before it was blocked. She was certainly after the money and it may have been the reason for the murder. Very unfortunate incident and I think the victim just like most people, myself included, may have been deceived by the innocent look of the suspect. A person's appearance doesn't determine what they can or cannot do. But the victim, to me ,should have known better and should be blamed too If the suspect was his daughter and he was tipped off by somoene that a 50 year old is lodged somewhere with her doing drugs and having sex, I am sure he would have gone there to get the man arrested. CC ; Pocohantas, DWjoBscom, calitoscassius, breathelove |
DWJOBScom:I also hope the police don't torture her to change her story. If what she narrated is true, she should stick to it. She may walk away free. What do people expect her to do ? to relax and allow the man choke her to death? Then the headlines would then read; 21 year old Unilag female student found dead in an apartment in lekki. That would have been the end of the matter But I hope she is telling the truth . |
DWJOBScom:Everything for now is based on her narration of events. I think we would get to know more in the coming days. The only thing I can say for now is that the man gambled with his life by hooking up with a call girl that do drugs. Those kind of girls are not mentally stable and are quick to behave irrationally. |
breathelove:Everything I said is based on her narration of what happened. If she is telling the truth, then she had no option to defend herself at the moment she was being choked to death. If she went ahead to remove money from account, it doesn't mean she already planned it. According to her ,the man already gave her the ATM and pin before the incident. We can say she acted stupidity to go ahead to withdraw from his account after the incident. But remember she was a desperate girl looking for money and that's all that matters to her. You don't know some of these girls. Money is their major concern. If they follow you anywhere and you slump and die, the next thing is to search your pockets for what they can find and disappear. it has happened to several people in the past. Ask any police officer they would confirm what I just said. Ashawo nor get conscience . Or do you think the girl is in love with him or what? |
Calitoscassius:Exactly. I don't believe she planned to kill him.She found herself in a very desperate situation and she acted instinctively to save her life. |
pocohantas:Read up her confession when she was paraded by the police, you will get the full details |
pocohantas:There's no mystery .According to her, the 50 year old pinnned her down on the kitchen cabinet and was choking her to death. She was helpless to push him away and with her free hand, she had no option but to use a kitchen knife on the cabinet her eyes strayed to. From her narration, ( if she is not lying) it can be seen that since the man was lying on top, it would not have been possible for him to notice her outstretched hands picking up the knife to stap him on the neck. If they were in standing position and some distance between them, no way the girl would have succeeded. She wouldn't even think of it None should be happy that the man was killed in such a manner. But imagine if you were in her position, pinned down after your head was hit on the wall by a man under the influence of drugs, what would you have done ? These days it is not uncommon to read stories of ladies who were murdered in hotel rooms by the person whom they checked in with. |
I hope there's also a CCTV camera where they Lodged . if what she narrated is true and the cameras confirm it, then she may walk free. A girl who was being choked to death by a 50 year old former boxer would not be expected not to react to save a life. |
shogsman:You may be mistaken about why your thread is not filled to the brim. Most people who engaged in witchcraft practices do so not because it can be explained rationally but because of the assumed power it gives them For those who believe in it, they do so because it has become a part of their reality having grown up in an environment where such practices are rife. So, if you want to convince such persons to abandon what they have come to regard as real, then you would need to come up with something far more persuasive. Your Op lacks what is needed to achieve this. Another reason I think your thread is being avoided is because you are not a good teacher of what you know . You have certain experiences which has convinced you the spiritual is fiction but you're not willing to share the details of those experiences to convince otthers . Furthermore, your attitude is a problem. It is too condescending for someone who intends to enlighten others about what you think you know or have discovered. A good teacher should respond to any kind of question . It doesn't matter how stupid or unnecessary it may appear to you. Someone asked you some questions at the begining of this thread which you refused to answer or answered in a condescending manner . How can learning take place in such an atmosphere of trying to put others down just becuase you think you know better. Others following your thread may have similar questions too. If you answer those for him ,then you should have answered for others . A teacher should also learn to be patient and tolerating of students he assume he knows better than and not insult or mock them because they fail to follow up or question what is being taught. It seem to me the purpose of you creating this thread is to mock and insult others who believe in the supernatural.. If you intention is to enlighten ,then quit the mockery and insult and focus on your task. Why should people participate when it seems you want to fight anyone who disagree with you. There are adults on this board and no one likes to be called a fool or stupid for what they believe in. You're throwing innuedoes everywhere and pretending as if you don't know what you're doing These are just my observation. Hope it has not created any offence |
Strongbest:The issue is not whether Adeboye is one-sided or not but demanding the Government regulate the Internet for everyone because some few persons are misusing it.. Why should I be made to suffer for someone else's irresponsible behaviour when I am in know way responsible for how they have chosen to behave If the Government heed to his call, how would it possible to ensure that those who don't abuse or misuse it are not affected by its regulation. Don't defend him because you assume he wrong cannot be at any time. Learn to think for yourself . |
It is knee jerk reaction for anyone to call for restrained access to social media or the Internet If we have people whose lifestyle and thinking has been badly affected by it, we equally have others whose lifestyle and thinking has greatly improved through its usage These days, nearly every student in every single higher institution in this country depend wholly on the Internet to carry out their assignments, prepare for exams and to keep abreast with current happenings around them. So why should any right thinking individual advocate the government ban or restrained access to the Internet or social media just because some young persons are abusing it. The truth of the matter is that the blame should not be placed entirely on social media platforms but on users who lack the personal discipline to control their behaviour Any form of addiction is a personal problem and should be dealt with personally by the person or persons it affects.. Parents whose children are addicted or misusing the Internet or social media platforms should be advised to take responsibility and not look for whom to blame for their inaction. It is only when the misuse of social media platforms affects everyone else that the Government can step in. But they should at such a time only target those involved in its misuse and not make others suffer for the stupidity of a few.. |
Missyajoke:Dreams where you see yourself being constantly chased by someone or anything is usually an indication of the presence of fear in your life. This fear has build up to a point in your subconscious mind where it is now causing stress and you have not done anything to deal with it hence the recurring dream Look for the source of this fear in your outer life, deal with it and the dream would stop. You are not being pursued by demons neither are you under a curse. If you feel overwhelmed by the situation and think you cannot deal with it yourself , then seek professional help from a competent practitioner who would assist you to uncover what exactly it is that is responsible for your recurring dreams and help to proffer solutions so can have your normal life back |
ba7man:Of course, you also know that not everyone from an affluent background is a thief or not every politician is a thief and if by your comment you're insinuating that Reno is a thief, please provide proof or you shut it |
Kobojunkie:If people actually know the sort of mind bending techniques used by TB Joshua to force them to buy his useless anointing water and to visit his Church, they would know who he truly was. Whatever anyone does is preceded by thought. So anyone that can have control over your mind can control every single action you take or can make your do anything even to kill yourself |
Kobojunkie:Doctors who refer patients under their care to faith healers are going against medical ethics..They are taking are huge risk that can lead to their licence being withdrawn. In fact any medical Doctor that would refer me to a faith healer is not properly trained or does not know what he or she is doing. |
frog12:How do you expect me to know the cause of his illmes and why he had to die suddenly. I am not a prophet neither am I God |
mutter:Exactly what I have tried to let some people understand. Lots of people have lost their lives or have had their health condition worsen by relying on the nonsense anointing water. These unfortunate victims were the sources of the money that came to TB Joshua. |
frog12:What was he doing in TB Joshua's synagogue? Do you know? |
slimman007:Not true .You don't know the meaning of the word ,refer , when it comes to medical practice, Pastors are not medical consultants. So no Doctor would ever refer any patient to them. In this part of the world , when a medical doctor ask you to pray because the condition seem to have defied treatment at the moment, he just saying that for you to keep faith in what he is doing with the hope that he may find solution later. But was happened and still continue to happen is that a lot of you religious people would wrongly interpret their words to mean that they are referring you to a pastor or prophet for further treatment. Any medical Doctor that refers a patient under his care to a pastor for further treatment would automatically lose his licence when it is discovered You don't know what you are saying.Any medical Doctor that consult with a pastor for any kind of treatment is doing that in his own personal capacity .It has nothing to with their practice or what they are trained for |
