The darkness in people's hearts.... And off course I'll have the fanatics say don't judge pastors or you attract the wrath of God...leave it for God to judge and whatnot.... You see both the heaven we piously work toward to and the hell we dread so much, lie within us.

Dude. Take few seconds to think!

Did they know that the whole house was infested with cameras?
Did they know that the program was televised publicly?
Did they know that any inglorious scene they create stands the chance to remain indelible on the internet and serve as a continual source of shame to them and their families?

A right thinking individual would have been smatter to either avoid the show or rather maintain an honorable stance throughout the show.
Alas! They chose otherwise. They chose to have sex like animals will do; publicly.

Except for a career in porn, that scene would be used to hunt and destabilize them (especially the lady) in any profession she opts for.

You sure wouldn't like your children to "express love" to strangers on national T.V for their children and grand children to see. Would you?
How about we don't have such programs at all on our TV's. And having to follow it and talk about it with this much glee and excitement...I mean come on...we give them hero's welcome in the airports...limousine rides...and afterwards you see them in several talk shows, endorsements and much more like they're astronauts who found a new planet or discovered cure for AIDS. With all these i mean you could even argue why they don't have a national medal pinned to their breasts by the president to cap it all. This program and most importantly the amount of attention it gets by very important social cycles of the country, DEBASES us! cry

Politics / Re: What Baffles Me In Jamil Abubakar & Fatima Dangote's Wedding by troy20(m): 9:03am On Mar 17, 2018
SoNature:

I want to correct something here. In Philosophy, St. Augustine argued that even though God created us, we still have the power to decide our fate, with or without God's guidance.

Yes, we have the power to choose over good or evil. In the Bible, God anointed many kings of Israel, but they all went astray along the line, killing people and disobeying God's will.

In relation to Buhari, yes, God might have chosen him 'as a good man,' but he allowed evil men around him thwart God's will for Nigeria, making him appear as evil as the evil men.

Keep in mind, however, that 95% of the decisions presidents make are suggested to them by experienced, sophisticated and learned advisers, who present them with convincing argument. It's now let for them to take or leave the advice. A typical example was the idea of removing fuel subsidy Okonjo-Iweala suggested to GEJ.

Everyone making assumptions of what God might have wanted or what he may not...its sickening the mental bondage this imported religion has placed on us. Take a moment to ponder the stupidity of that. Its a waste of time saying this as you'll fight me to the death with bible references to defend your faith. Your not best placed to make any corrections to his comment. Everything he posted was spot on. You are the one in need of a self discovery.

Nigerians have demanded for years to know the pay of federal legislators, now that we know, what next? Do we just rant online and still vote for them? Which sadly is what will likely happen as Nigerians are too meek and unbelievably patient with government, but not with their fellow poor Nigerians. In other civilised countries their streets would have been full of protestants. The thing is so annoying imagine a country with minimum wage of #18000 yet government can spend so much on bunch of incompetent buffuns, wetin NLC and other labour unions dey do sef?
I recall the labour union used to be so active during the obasanju regime. Its so unbelievably dead now

have left several Parish to another because of the issue.
the first was when a pastor asked us to come out for prayers if we wanted to become millionaires, more than half of the church came out , next he asked us to go to our bags and sow a seed of 5k, that failure to do this will attract curses, I went straight to my seat , took my bag and left , my hubby who had refused to come out for the so-called prayer laughed uncontrollably , I was soooo bitter .

Frankly that dumb shit arnt what one should be getting excited over even if I have to poke in from time to time.we are giving it much more than it deserves public ly.
TV/Movies / Re: Immorality In Our Living Room: The Big Brother Naija Show by troy20(m): 1:15pm On Feb 07, 2018
It would have been more appropriate for a lot of you who quickly defend it to admit to it being immoral but still watch the show rather than trying to justify such show aired publicly..you say people against such program probably watch porn, smoke dope and indulge in a lot more social ills but people with whatever immoral indulgences don't go making a point or display of them; I don't recall having met anyone who is comfortable telling everybody he or she watches porn. Even 'oloshos' conceal their business because they know its perceived as morally wrong and that's the point. The moment we feel comfortable displaying our immoralities publicly then we are done for as a society. I guess everyone might as well get on with their fantasies.

The cliche, common sense is not so common afterall couldn't be better applied to the black man.its a deep mental desease with africa.after decades of inexistent health development and managment in your own country of origin you go to london for medical treatment costing us millions of hard forex and enriching a foreign economy.we even give testimonies in churches for foreing visas at this times in a 21st century with many economies heading for their peaks in development .if we take a moment or two to ponder about the things we do and how we live and reason in this continent we'll be amazed at how lost we are.but a mad man doesn't even know he's mad na abi? cry

its not strange.the hausa's have always had that skill of projecting themselves and thereby gaining influence whenever and wherever they mean to.they make their confidence of superiority known always.i served in the national assembly (in my youth corp) where very important committee meetings often held by senators and summoned directors of parastatals and ministries where conducted in hausa language.

Romance / Re: Sudden Increase Of Single Ladies Above 28: Ways Of Salvaging The Situation by troy20(m): 1:00pm On Jun 22, 2017
selflessmaya:
i love threads like these because while they show me how stupid some nigerians are, some comments also remind me that we have some functional thinking ppl in this country.
the reason while there are more spinsters in this generation is because nigerian women are finally realizing they can do and deserve better. most men here riding the "go and marry" brigade are the worst specimen of men out there. let's be fu<king honest, let's go there, how many nigerians want to have a marriage exactly like their parents? i grew up in a stable household with very nice parents but i can personally say that i dont want a marriage like theirs, a lot of you here talking trash wont even exist in this day and age cos your mothers wouldn't have settled with your fathers. but the differnce is that girls grow up wanting and grooming themselves for a more romantic fun marriage and guys are just more than comfortable being as uninteresting as wet bread.

most nigerians are very bitter when they see a woman who wants to do well for herself, be it a woman who strives for independence and success or a woman who wants to marry well and won't settle for less. that's why they gather like ants when celebrity marriages fail because they love to laugh at those who even had the nerve to think they can have it all and still have their happy ending and i'm using celebrities as an example because they're the only public cases we get to see. this is why successful women like genevieve and rita dominic are constantly told "go and marry" by ppl here who can't even afford 1/10th of the life they live, that's why anytime a scandal arises about adaeze yobo's marriage, they gather around to laugh and say "she never see anything" meanwhile she married at 20 and did not even get the chance to "slay mama" before marrying like most ppl like to justify their dragging with, that is why they drag female celebs who got out of unhappy marriages when they cry on camera, then drag them when they show signs of moving on with their lives. this is why they're happy whenever a new rumor rises about caroline danjuma's husband's cheating, "oh she thought fine girl will save her" "haha shey she's the one that wanted rich husband", this is why they're at the uche jumbo thread typing "ghen ghen" hoping her marriage fails so they can come again to tell women that working hard and being a boss is nahhht the way to go. this is why when an everyday case of domestic violence goes viral, they sympathize but when it's a successful woman who's a celebrity they do the most trying to attribute everything to her celebrity status, she must have been a bad wife (because she's successful in her own right and we all know women who don't need you in order to feed are just terrible and must be dragged)

the issue here is not that many women are not marrying but that many men are NOT marriage material but were raised believing "a man is never ugly" "woman education ends in kitchen" "let boys be boys"and they drank it in whole and did nothing to better themselves and are mad that girls are out here calling their bluff, getting sh!t done and not that bothered about marriage anymore with a "if it happens, it happens, if it doesnt, boo freaking hoo" mindset. basically these men are angry because they cant attract gold while being trash but in the old days of lesser female empowerment a lot of amazing women had to settle for whatever comes their way and these generation of girls are saying NO!!! no more being a maid with glorified title of wife, if men are not ready to be husbands, many girls these days are not ready to sit around wifeing for them and cleaning up after a grown man, whiny like a baby with a head full of entitlement that they dont even possess. many ppl born in the 80s-90s grew up in a world totally different from what it is now and they're refusing to stay stagnant as the times change. women are more practical these days, all the "slay mamas" are hated because girls these days are no more the breed to grow up with an impractical view of how life works, they see the harsh realities surrounding them and they know now that marriage is not a prize but a huge gamble. these men are so angry that women wayyy above them wont reduce their standards and settle for them, so mr man, why dont u reduce your own standard and find girls your own level, it's because mr man was lied to and told that a man is a prize and any girl will give an arm and a leg to have him and reality is just punching holes in the bubble he lives in. women just dont view men as a prize anymore, they view them as human beings and if u can't be the one, they're fine earning their cash, paying their bills and watching whiny threads like these from their comfortable cozy homes, live with it.

ps. lol at the one complaining that girls these days want wedding, pre-wedding pic and reception which is expensive in his opinion and they should settle for court marriage, my friend, when women were marrying a lot like u claim, the same laws applied, you're just broke.

Sounds like she's the presumptuous type to me, hence she keeps putting a foot in her mouth, particularly with the last guy. Another funny thing is, she's calling him a bastard because he rejected her. This imo, is someone that thinks she's a catch, basing it only on her achievements. So she's shocked to realize that it doesn't work that way. You're successful business-wise, cool. But are there other attractive qualities besides that? Marriage is not a business contract. I think perhaps, these guys pick up on her haughtiness in general & are put off by it.
quite a smart observation
