My question is How do people know that the guy is really Hausa by tribe, is it because he speaks the language which off cause a lot of people understand and speak because they were born in the northern part of the country. Or maybe because he wears dresses like Hausa which off cause is worn by all irrespective of the tribe or religion of the person.
The way u guys reason and talk is very annoying. So u can't differentiate between hausa, yoruba nd igbo again? Besides from the news, the hausa man recently came in the community. So the the villagers can't distinguish between forigners and indigene among them. Instead of u to condemn the babaric act by the hausa, remember u're a girl. Nawa ooo

Listen pls, the president to an extent has more power than NASS. A bill passed by NASS can't be implemented without the president endorsing it. However, a bill pass by the president is always endorsed by NASS if it means well for the country. In this case restructuring is good for the country. It must start from the president. Let him proposed a bill on restructuring and let see if NASS will reject it.
PoliticsRe: Intensify Oil Exploration In Northen Nigeria, Presidency Orders NNPC by TruthisGOD: 3:05am On Jul 27, 2016
mesoprogress:
I have worked in oil field for 8+ years, a Petroleum geologist. I haven't worked in Chad basin but have spoken with professional colleagues, and seen the basin data myself. Seismic data suggest presence of hydrocarbon, actual exploration wells show presence of oil wet sands. Field architecture show possible oil migration to Chad republic side. Chad is already producing this oil and selling. There is possibility of finally getting extractable oil. Question is - what quantity, is it worth it? Is this purely a political move? To be frank with you, it's easier to get hydrocarbon in southern States - East, West, Niger delta than this misplaced priority. It's a waste
There are some flaws in your statements though you're to an extent correct if the following are adjusted: seismic data can never show the presence of oil but oil trap if any. It is actual drilling using wireline loggin or LWD in conjunction with reservoir data that will show the presence of oil and the probable quantity. Now, by your assertion what you mean is that seismic data shows oil trap but the trapped oil migrated to Chad. I think that assertion is wrong cos oil can never migrate from oil trap except from the source rock. Although the location of the source rock has being a subject of debate in the petroleum industry; howerver research has it that it is not far from the oil trap. Your assertion maybe correct if the Nigeria-chad basin is the source rock. Hence, oil migrated from the source rock (Nigeria-chad basin) to Chad (oil trap) becos of their proximity. In conclusion, if the can locate an oil trap in the Nigeria-chad basin through seismic exploration, it is very likely that the will hit oil either in commercial quantity or otherwise. The key is the oil trap!

Are you sure because Fani-Kayode just lied to us again. I have so many things to say to this guy "Fani-Kayode". Fani-Kayode, your father made the move for Independent parliament and instead of following his footsteps you are making the move for dissolution of same parliament. You are just the opposite of your father. Why do you want to destroy all that your father fought for and had built, Kayode? You made so many comments here that I want to counter jst as i have related to above.

Nigeria has gone beyond "one man's opinion to lead people astray & to cause mayhem in the land". You want to cover up all your atrocities using Christianity, hum? Please, don't Christianise or Islamise Nigeria for us. You are also part of those who destroyed the Nigerian Image and economy. Using money meant for purchasing of arms to fight terrorism for election. You think God is asleep? He NEVER SLEEP. And mind you, the current Chief of Defence staff is an Ekiti man Gen. YOU GUYS SHOULD STOP MISLEADING NIGERIANS AND STOP HIDING UNDER CHRISTIANITY
Well, i tink FFK may not be far from the truth. However, am certain that there are three kinds foolish victims in Nigeria- the efulefu, the optimistic fools and the useful fools. The worst among are the useful fools. They are beyond redemption!

PoliticsRe: Fulani Herdsmen Attacks: The Western And Business Perspectives by TruthisGOD: 10:07am On Apr 29, 2016
smada13:
With all the rantings on social network about Fulani herdsmen's killings and the siddon look approach people thought the government is applying, I seem not to see it from that end but from two different angles.

1) the west in their several attempts to destabilize Nigeria, delay its growth and possibly break it up; after seeing the efforts the Nigerian army is putting into nipping the insurgency in the bud and seeing that the insurgency no longer has the willpower to destabilize the country cuz I still see the boko haram insurgency as CIA's covert operation against Nigeria. They now resorted to arming some unscrupulous elements and probably some Fulani guys too to go on rampage. the earlier we look at things from here the better and faster it with be for us to attack it from all fronts and end it as early as possible....

2) The second angle is, some gun running businessmen who were making serious money from the insurgency have decided to shift attention to the nonthinking Fulanis and arming them to cause mayhem so as to continue making their "blood" money

..but rather for so many a people to sit and think deeply about this killings, they resorted to calling the President names and all what nots.....we should first ask ourselves that "is gun now something every Jack, dick and harry can get?" "who are those supplying these 'people' with arms?"

I saw a video the other day of people in a boat with arms and I wonder "are these Fulani herdsmen?" "what do they really stand to gain with the killings?"

I related with a few Fulani guys during my service year in kwara and I understood that they CANNOT attack anybody without a cause not minding the fact that they value their Cows even more than their families...and I can assure that these sort of attack is more than the Fulanis....

violence in Nigeria started from the Jos brouhaha to Militancy, Boko haramism to Kidnapping, and now Fulani herdsmen attacks.

Aren't we suppose to think? Some set of people are so hell bent on destabilizing this county but God won't allow them.

Whatever evil against the oneness of Nigeria will not prevail and so shall it be!

This is solely my write up and should not be plagiarized...

@SMADA....copyright 2016.
Who will plagiarize such nonsense story? The question you should ask urself if u so much want to preserve the unity of your country is, do the herdsmen really carry AK 47 guns instead of sticks? Why is Nigeria security not restricting them from carry gun? Have even one fulani perpetrator caught by our security agent? U think u're preserving the unity of the country by writing this trash instead of asking some truthful questions.
PoliticsRe: Soyinka Blasts Buhari Over Herdsmen Killings by TruthisGOD: 6:38pm On Apr 28, 2016
LordAdam:
You know deep down that what you typed is balderdash.

The decision by Soyinka was flawed not necessarily because he hated GEJ, but because he miscalculated the existential politicking of 2015.

Soyinka has been a staunch critic of Buhari, he made the U-turn because he was led to believe that PMB was a repentant democrat. That is the reason for the flawed decision he made. Normal humans can be reformed, but not Buhari. The antecedents were very clear.

A 73 years old former head of state, oil minister that has never worked for anything in his adult life. No company, no fund, no philanthropic activity, no business aside his native herdsman occupation which he was raised with. In fact, he had just 150 cows as a man of his status.

Until 2014, Buhari has been the poster-child of the North's oppression of the South and he had been very vocal about it. From absolving Abacha of all wrongdoing to confronting the Oyo state governor about farmer-Fulani clashes, to inciting the 2011 post-election crises in the North, to calling Boko Haram members sons of the North. He even outdid Babangida.

However, in barely one month because of a coalition of political parties, Nigeria's most celebrated literary icon believed that a man with such precedence had become a reformed democrat. Let that sink in, IN LESS THAN ONE MONTH!

Suddenly, the man who was protecting Boko Haram and even pointed out as a trusted negotiator promised to squash BH. A man who was oil minister under the most corrupt military regime claimed to be a man of integrity who would rid Nigeria of corruption.

When Obasanjo ran for President in 1999, he was the most qualified ex-military dictator. Why? Because of his antecedent. He oversaw Nigeria's most prosperous economic period during the military era and handed over to civilian rule willingly. In contrast, Buhari oversaw Nigeria's worst economic period during the military era, when people queued to buy salt, and he overthrew a legitimate civilian government.

Soyinka, though a respected man of letter, and one I certainly have utmost respect for, failed with his support of Buhari. The only person worse than Buhari that could have contested was IBB. Every other Northern presidential hopeful at 2015 was better than Buhari. Atiku is better, even el-Rufai would have been a better choice, even Ribadu would have been a better choice.

Everyone makes mistakes, and Soyinka's support of Buhari is the worst mistake of his post-1999 stint. A reformed democrat would show signs of being reformed years before saying so, he contested elections 3 times, in 12 years and never showed signs of being a reformed democrat, but someone who purports to be intelligent believed he would become reformed magically if he assumed the seat.

What we are experiencing is not a surprise. It was expected. Anyone who did not see this coming is, without mincing words, a F00L.

If Buhari can rule Nigeria after all he did and said, Hitler can rule Nigeria.

-Lord
Brilliant! You nailed it.

All of these miracle centre products never fail to amaze.

The statement was that oil revenue due to its fast declining value is billed to contribute just 820b Naira to the 2016 budget which hasn't yet been passed, not that oil has been accounting for just that figure all these years.

Ensure you comprehend my posts before mentioning me further or you will be ignored.
Your problem is mathematics and comprehension. Even if the budget hasn't been passed, oil is still paying your recurrent expenditure which includes your salaries .The only thing oil is not paying now is capital expenditure because budget has not been passed. Recurrent expenditure is abt 70% of the budget revenue which oil is paying. If ur assertion is true let the oil price slides to 15 dollar per barrel and see if Nigeria will survive. I repeat oil renvnue accounts to 70% of the 2016 budget. Stop relying on media propaganda, do some little research and maths.

I hope you're aware that for the first time, oil revenue is only contributing N820 billion (less than 20%) to our 6 trillion Naira budget and the rest is from non oil sources.

Read.
That is a complete hogwash. You people should try do your calculations and don't swallow everything media tells u. Do a little maths for Petes sake! At budget benchmark of 38 or even 28 dollar per barrel oil still contributes far more than 820 billon to the budget revenue, even up 60% of our revenue. Now that oil price is hovering between 43 to 46 dollar per, it accounts to more than 60% of the budget revenue . The speculation that oil contributes 820 billion is pure fallacy to make it look like the least contributor in the budget revenue.

Where was rule of law when money meant for armunitions to fight insuggency was being shared among them them and pple were being killed daily in hundreds? Personally, he who goes to equity is expected to go with a clean hands. Buhari is the Chief Security Officer of this country and he can use his power to remand anybody that constitute security risk in detention. How can you operate a radio station without a licence to do so? If the radio was in operation during Jonathan and he allowed it, then that is his usual weakness and he's known for that. Buhari will not tolerate that afterall Kanu cannot operate such in England where he came from. Our leaders in the church should pls leave politics for politicians, because they occupy a respectable position. We should always call a spade a spade, no sentiment pls.

The country is on the contrary more united. I am sorry if u or some groups do not feel like they belong but i am sure everyone here knows that we are all Africans first. And by the way Nigeria left the ICC. Nigeria is a soverign state and do not answer to the ICC. They know this. They can only accuse and demand. They cannot do anything about it.

The problem her is that Buhari is taking our systems and means of production and nationalizing them. This would not sit well with the west as they depend on this to milk nigeria until we become zimbwabwe. But everyone knows them. Buhari is not answerable to the west because we do not depend on western aid. We depend on oil which belongs to us. So while they can do that rubbish in Mali, Chad they cannot do that here.
They are simply looking for a reason to invade and sieze the oil wells. They have done this everywhere. But in Africa it is different. It is not abouyt oil for us, it is about freedom.
If all you said are true why are you concerned about the proposed commencement of invistigation of human right abuse by ICC and why are you preaching for unity? Why are you also afraid of the western intervention? Keeping on consoling urself.

For your information justice must be served if buhari your Messiah is found wanting by the ICC he should go and serve his calling. Stop dragging innocent Nigerians to his predicament.

USA is a Nigeria ally and not an enemy until Nigeria makes him one which Nigerians will totally kick against.
@OP, your argument here is full of fundamental flaws. When Buhari was ordering the killings of unarmed civilians and even made bold to uphold the killings of these civilians through his statement when he was interviwed by Ajezeera, you guys were applauding and cheering him on. Little did you guys know that the world was watching. Now, that the heat is now on him by ICC you type has suddenly retracted your steps and started seeking for unity to fight a fictitious enemy. Buhari has done a lot of damage within his tenure. The country is more divided than ever by his divisive actions and his dictatorial excesses. I wonder the kind of unity you're seeking now when the damage has already been done. Furthermore, you should be preaching this to the families of those that lost their love ones by the brutality of the Nigerian army; they are the ones that petitioned him to ICC. Why this Fayose doesn't mind his Ekiti state business? He is turning to be smthing else o
You seem not to get Fayose point here. When govt borrows recklessly like this it will mortage the future of most states including his. The reason is that when there is increase in our revenue maybe as a result of increase in oil price, most states will not benefit or feel the impact because the excess revenue will be used to offset our debts. Consquently, most states will be receiving smaller revenue as compare to what the receive before even lower since oil price is low and probably not going to rise in near future and debt is high. Hence, state will not be able to pay workers salary. Fayose is one of the smartest governor as far as am concerned.

jaybee:
Pathetic. Pathetic indeed.

Most comments on this thread make a f00l of Nigerian youths.

Just think of it.

What is 'diversification'? what does of mean in the context of Nigeria's economy?

Does it meat jettisoning what you have (in this case oil and gas), while embracing what you don't have (like the proverbial, and improperly defined, agriculture; mining, etc) ?

To understand 'diversification', all you need is to define it. Any dictionary should provide such definition. Diversification is simply the act of introducing a variety (in our case, in investments, and production of goods and services); instead of investing mainly in the oil and gas. it does not connote zero investment in oil and gas and 100% investment in other sectors. Remember that Nigeria already has huge investments in oil and gas to leverage on. After all have you ever heard that a bird at hand is worth two in the air?

The concern on timing for investment in oil and gas exploration in Nigeria now is highly misplaced and shows ineptitude of the highest order, if not outright mischief. Just think of it, the crude oil being produced Nigeria today (which was sold as high as $146 in the recent past), at what price was crude oil when the exploration was done? The exploration was undertaken in the 80s and early 90s (oil exploration and production is a long gestation investment) when crude oil was at its lowest around $9 - $14. This is a good time to invest when the price is low and the cost of exploration is also low. When the price rises, the cost of exploration will be high and making the investment decision will become more difficult. it makes economic sense.

Finally is the money for this so-called frontier exploration in the budget? this i strongly doubt. If it is there, someone should please show, not tell me. Which means as usual, government only facilitates these activities, and does not really put in tax payers' money directly into it. Mostly, the investors put in their heard-earned hard currency and takes all the risks in anticipation of commercial hydrocarbon discoveries that would permit them to recover their money in a long time in the future.
It is highly unfortunate that people like you didn't go through our budget break down b4 coming online to talk. Yes, Buhari earmarked 30 billion for oil exploration in Chad. Coming to your argument on cheap exploration regarding the oil price, no oil company will explore for new field when oil price is very low! The cost of equipment, seismic, floaters, drilling ship, barges, casing, bits, BHA are relatively the same irrespective of oil price. The only factor that depends on oil price is the number of personnel in the field. Even their salaries are the same. No oil company will embark on oil exploration when the probability of capital expenditure outweighs the revenue.
