Being a celebrity is something most people aspire to be,a well known figure,a figure that is always admired,trolled, in the spotlight,always on the news and with a huge fan baze and followers on Facebook, twitter,Instagram and other social media platform,a state where those you roll with are the crème dela crème of the society, a point in your life that you 'cough' and it becomes news with likes,shares and reactions in there thousands in just minutes even seconds.

But what most people don't know is that been a celebrity the figure in question doesn't live just his or her life,the pressure mounts to do things that will keep you in the news and retain your followers even if you are to eat jollof rice in the gutter or take pics in the toilet.

But wait a minute.....

Most people whom have become celebrities accidentally or by process due to a particular feat or action they achieved or performed and now has followers don't know that it is not just by having followers,it is the impact you create in the lives these followers that matters,unfortunately,we have people whom are in celebrity positions in the world and in this nation that have negatively impacted their followers or fans lives by their actions and inactions,some post cars,houses,clothes,money and even bedroom activities, but what they don't know is that some of these things are creating a very negative impression in some peoples lives.

I believe being a celebrity is an opportunity not just to have fame but to create lasting impact in peoples lives both by actions and inactions, it would not be shocking if most of our so-called celebrities start having their fans and followers reason on the content these so-called celebrities deliver to the public, these celebrities would not have one single follower again!

I want to say that I am disappointed in some Nigerian celebrities,some don't even know what they are and some even insult and abuse the followers and fans arrogantly, these were the same people who helped them become something when they were absolutely NOTHING,some don't reply chats,some threaten blocking their followers as if that's the end of the life of such a person.

If that is what they(Nigerian celebrities) think that it's the meaning of being a celebrity then they need a rethink.

What I am about to write will to some of us,not be something we may want to hear,but whether we accept the truth or not, the truth must stand.
I have to say that there is an eyesore going on amongst those of the Christian faith by some nefarious charalatans whom have crept into the faith to make nonsense of what we stand and believe,thereby trying to make Christianity a joke.
This attitude has led many as I speak to you now to go into some other faith and beliefs,and some whom were once strong believers recanting the faith and going into outright declaration that there is no God. this is sad.

There are some things which should not be named amongst believers in Christ, but it is seen today,I don't write this to condemn but to point out areas which we need to address and seriously deal with by the spirit of God inorder to save the faith handed over to us by those whom have paid dear prices for this kingdom to be in vain.

Today it is no longer news that we can see so-called ministers take the wife of their church members and they would claim that they are being led by the spirit to do so,they don't care if the woman had a child or not with the husband, they declare that God spoke to them,but God cannot be an architect of confusion nor adultery or sexual pervasion,obviously these so-called ministers are led by their lust.

Today we see ministers who are in stiff competition with each other, they try to prove a point,by parading affluence, glamour and making exaggerated testimonies, today,they also try to emphasize much on structures and flamboyance than on the impact of the word of God in the lives of men,Mammon has overtaken the hearts of many and to pursue covetousness.

Today the truth is hidden from the congregation so as not to loose members,the message changes so that there would still be food on the table, members try to dictate what they want to hear and what they don't want to hear

Today,all in a bid to show that one is more anointed people will not mind heaping titles upon titles on themselves, as if that is what portrays the kingdom, and so arrogantly they brag about it,that if you don't address them by such titles,you are insulting them.

Today one of the most reasons some of these self acclaimed men of God try to go on air is not because they have a genuine reason to impact souls and to reach out men for the kingdom but to display bank account numbers and to sell talisman to the unwary public.

Today being a celebrity pastor or minister is the most priority than living and affecting lives positively, they drill the members to pay and finance heavy projects,whereas there are the poor hungry, unemployed ones in these churches.

Today we have clique of ministers,so-called associations which does not stand true to what they claim to represent but has been reduced to a mere political tool for vote canvassing and vote buying by unscrupulous and unrepentant politicians.


I have much to say,but that would be in my next treatise,what I wrote may not make sense to you,but the truth is always bitter,but it must be told,truth does not need popularity to be accepted.

There is this thing that some times I keep thinking about,it makes me wonder,why and how it should only be that way,and what could that be?

I have discovered that in this great country of ours,we can disagree on so many things,ranging from political scene,religion ethnicity and some others that has really affected our nation, however I have come to see an exception to that and this has to do with the issue of sports competition especially football.

I was thrilled to see the massive unity of Nigerians during the last FIFA world cup in 2018,northeners,easterners, westerners and the rest,people from diverse creed and beliefs,culture and traditions, seated together and cheering on our national team, no matter who is who in the team.

It really got me thinking....

Eventhough as at that time there was some internal squabbles and unrest in the nation,yet everyone put that aside,to cheer our national team, no matter whom you are and where you come from.

I sincerely think that if we would begin to see that our unity doesn't end in sports festivals but to should go on to other areas ,Nigeria would be great again, we need to not allow our ethnicity, creed or faith make us not to see our commoness,honestly I believe Nigeria can become better if we stop this sentimentality in culture, creed,and religion, have a national outlook that a sectional one.

And it starts with ME and YOU

I have something disturbing my mind,as a Christian it irks my heart seeing the insult and lambasting that comes from those whom are not Christians concerning those who are,I don't feel bad not because it is not part of what we are going to see as Christians but because of the acts of some so-called Christians whom have given a reason to some whom are not of the faith to insult the faith,most especially those whom call themselves Men of God and even women of God, sometimes I just feel so bad that I don't read news that borders on such things.

I am not trying to say that pastors are perfect people but these days the activities perpetrated by those whom we call shepherds have become those who feed from the sheep,I was shocked to hear a man who claimed to be a man of God force himself on someone whom came for deliverance, and another one have to make a woman divorce her husband and marry him,that she is his true wife knowing that she is already married with kids,the recent one is a man whom claimed to be a man of God going to bed a woman looking for child that his sperms are holy sperms to make the woman free from spiritual husband.

Today we have those who call themselves men of God come on cable networks just to solicit for funds in naira and foreign currency, they attack each other verbally casting aspersions, they preach more and do less, they spend hours in prophecy and showmanship than to establish people on the truth of God's word, they are more title conscious than getting people saved from sin,they are more focused on costumes,clique and paraphernalia than to get men being built in all areas.

Huge sums go into the church accounts but poverty reeks in the church amongst the members, the promise of heaven but no earthly assistance from the brethren, it pained my heart to hear a preacher complain that some persons children including his could not attend the church's school that every district was charged to build because of its exorbitance,he was bitter saying it.

I pray for a revival and an overhaul Reformation in the Christianity of this country,I am a Christian and I am not ashamed of my faith,it is just that some bad eggs have crept in and is making nonsense of the Faith,but along with the faithful ones we pray there would be a mighty revival that will reawaken and restore the Christianity in this nation.

Some time ago I was watching a Tv program and I saw kids come to exhibit their respective cultures,I saw them wear costumes of their cultures or tribes, but the place that got my attention was when they now start asking them to speak their language,mehnnn....come and see,these kids cannot even know the basic things and what it is called in their languages.

I took notice of that,and I see it as a problem, we live in a world where there is a fast transmission of cultures, there is a high rate of transculturation but that's not just it,some cultures are beginning to die off,some are greatly endangered because they so much paved way to some other cultures and have began to see the death of their own cultures.

These days most modern parents term their own cultures, fetish,evil,local and all sorts of downgrading names, what they don't know is that what they call foreign cultures are just cultures of some other people whom are proud of what they have and they proudly market it.

These parents see speaking their own languages as offensive, they see calling their kids local names or native names as below their status,they would rather bear an Asian name they know nothing about than theirs and you even see them proud of it,I am waiting for the day a pure Chinese will bear the name Ebuka,Tope or Hassan...

This thing is not funny, if we don't do something about this,we will one day have most of our values disappear without a trace, and it's happening now

There is this issue that bothers my heart and that is the issue of inviting comedians to come and make jokes in the church,I am not like trying to get you change your opinion if you have a contrary view,infact you may insult me for what I may say but the truth is always bitter.

I have nothing against comedy,I have nothing against comedians,infact God have blessed some people with a knack for humor or being funny,I don't get jealous of the craft of comedians most especially in these days that most people are just discovering their comic skills and are going full time to make it a profession, however my point is even if comedy is to be done in the church, it mustn't involve something vulgar or offensive.

You can make constructive jokes without making fun with the name of the Lord or holy things,you cannot stand on the pulpit and speak about sex in a demeaning way as some do today,you must know the fact that you are in a church and you got to respect that.

Pastors and infact the church must stand up and stop such a thing,don't invite comedians that would come and desecrate altars by saying nonsense in the sense of calling it a joke.

Let us not turn grace into careless living, liberty is not the same as license.

These are some cases of what sex outside marriage can cause, have caused and is causing in this time.Sex is good,everyone can have it,but having sex outside marriage, in a wrong platform, is only going to have such a person ending up like one of those stories or events described above..

There is this thing that bothers my mind,and being a Christian such a thing that is bothering me is the state of 'clique' and 'celebrity' mentality that has come to play amongst some so called Christians.

It is seen these days a shoulder to shoulder drag of who's who in the Church today,so called brethren plotting to overthrow a brother or sister, so called pastors or men of God struggling to outwit a fellow minister just to be in the limelight, men of God getting jealous over the increased fame and popularity of another minister of the gospel and can get to a point that they can either pay bloggers to tarnish the image of such a person,or even stage a preaching just to throw jibes and discredit a fellow minister.

In another hand you find some men or so-called ministers or Christian trying to dishonor invitations to minister in local churches,they would rather minister in a church with a large auditorium with overflows than a one with just a hundred members, they would rather sing in a birthday ceremony of an unbeliever than to grace an occasion of a Christian gathering, some of them can go a long way to charge exorbitant amount of money just to grace an occasion of just 1 to 2 hours and this comes with some other additions like lodging in expensive hotels,flight ticket,and other protocols in place,no humility seen again.

As I write this,most so-called ministers,gospel singers are in stiff competition and cannot see eye to eye,they are in stiff competition with each other.

With this kind of mindset, it is impossible to make impact or host a true genuine revival, when vainglory enters the church, it produces decline,death,ineffectiveness and waton carnality

It is a beautiful thing when two persons are in courtship,it looks like the 'thing' is out of this world,it is an awesome time and great period.The thought of getting married looks so amazingly fantastic and sweet,people look towards it,the thought is so beautiful, prospective husband and wife thinks of that beautiful day friends and family would come and before them all,the both of them would say 'I do',bridal train and grooms men would cheer and cheer and they would be treated regally like a king and a queen,after all is their day.

Now having a wedding is not the issue,even looking at the way people plan it,the pre wedding shots and pictures, the angelic smiles and the rest,the money spent on wedding items and other stuffs that would make it look awesome and memorable one would think that most of these marriages would last.

There were some weddings both in this country and in others that made headlines,had elaborateness, the internet was abuzz with it,bloggers and blogs had traffic because of it,international figures and celebs graced them,but just after two,three years it crashed and that's the end.

Today it is not news to see or hear of marriages breaking up,this is not whether one had an expensive wedding or a simple wedding,then the question is why?

Some people plan for their wedding but not for their marriage, some are so meticulous to know the kind of invitation cards they are going to print,venue to host the reception, caterers to do the wedding services,clothes to wear and what color and designs but they are not careful to plan for the marriage which is the main deal,and the reason why some things happen today in marriage amongst couples is not spiritual per se but a product of not knowing the things they are supposed to ask during courtship, building their marriage on a right foundation, being hasty concerning getting married because of the need for validation, impression or pressure from society.

One thing worse than being alone or single is being in a wrong toxic marriage, what happens in marriages these days are terrible,celebrity or not,religious or not,rich or not.

When Knowledge is lacking there is abuse,marriage is not courtship, marriage if I am to say it this way it is 'Married to Age(get old)" you don't jump into marriage today to jump out tomorrow, take your time to know the things you ought to know in courtship, don't be carried away by looks,remember that man or woman is whom will be staying for a very long time to come with you,so be intentional, there are some things I would have loved to say here,but for readability reasons,let me end it here,hope to continue with this in my next write up

There is something that bothers my heart and that is the neglect of the teaching profession in this nation,I feel for all the teachers in this nation,starting from the primary,post primary and tertiary institution, I feel so much for them seeing the way it is being rubbished and treated with disdain both by the government, private individuals and institutions.

I could remember those days that teachers are held in high esteem, I could recollect when teachers are honoured by students and by the community, being a teacher was a noble profession and admired by many,in those days they are solicited by many because of their versatility and intelligence

But this day the reverse is the case as today in this particular nation unlike their counterparts in the Western world,they get peanuts as salary, get insulted by pupils,students and their parents,used and abused,the government treating them as if they don't matter,not knowing that these are the groups that every other profession fall on.

When you have a hungry teacher,he would become angry and he won't deliver,if you assault him,he may become discouraged and may drop off.

I don't think we treat teachers well enough in this part of the world,we need a rethink and see how we can help take care of our teachers,let's encourage them and see how we can make the teaching profession attractive again,we are loosing if we don't, I seize this opportunity to appreciate all the teachers doing immensely well in the lives of people committed into their hands.Teachers are great and there is no controversy.

There is this thing I have come to see recently and if you care to know why,it is the issue of getting pressured to get married.I have seen most young people getting undue pressures from friends,family and even church people begin to look at you like "When will it be,we are expecting your invitation soon',I personally don't think it is right pressuring people to go into marriage,I honestly think that the issue of marriage is basically optional.

I am not saying that marriage is bad,but making it look like an 'achievement' or that something is wrong with you when you are not married or thinking in that direction is most times wrong.

It is because of some of these pressures has made some persons get into marriages that they are unhappy being into today,because they want to belong to the married crew,they want to look or belong to a class,or just because they want to please some people whom may not even be there to know how far after the marriage .

Yes,marry if you can but don't let it be because you are pressured to do so,and don't allow yourself to be seen as a failure if you are not married, it is not an achievement I repeat it is not an achievement.

Plan your life,get a clear direction of your purpose,be open to relationships but be discreet,pray and be on the look out also for a potential mate that will work with you to achieve both of your purposes together, remember marriage is for a lifetime, don't be deceived to go into what you may regret tomorrow, calm down.

Good day nairalanders..This issue I want to discuss here really needs answers because I really feel for the guy in this case, I have given my own opinion on the matter but I still want to know what he can do in such a case.

There is this close family friend let's say Mr B is his name,he used to base in Port Harcourt not until he relocated to Lagos,his family is rich and they are based in Abuja with some of his sisters abroad,India to be precise.

Mr B is a graduate from a prestigious school in the south where he studied mechanical engineering, and before he relocated to Lagos,he has been living very fine,he had this lady let's say Miss D he intended to marry,then Mr B made some ventures into business which he fell into the hands of scammers and it caused setbacks for him,meanwhile he is a devoted Christian and according to him,he had received God's call to serve in ministry, which also made him set off for Lagos.

His Fiancée had a job in one of the lucrative firms in PH and soon on Mr B getting to Lagos he was lucky to be accepted by a new generation church where he served as an associate pastor,they gave him a Car,a house and the church runs a big school there in Festac,in 2019 he came down and got married to his heartthrob.

Long story made short Mr B during the last year's Covid lockdown was complaining of financial strain not knowing that it was deeper than that,his wife has just come down from PH having relinquished her job in the big firm she works to help assist him in the ministry, where he is serving under the lead pastor and church overseer of the XYZ church .

The Wife got a job in the church's school where she earns 30k monthly as against 50k she receives while in her former job,Mr B receives 30k as a pastor,even as the church gave him the car and residence, now things has changed as the church had collected the car and has turned it into a school bus even though they can buy 5 of that at once,his wife's salary has been reduced from 30k to 25k in this period,while his own take home is just 5k which he claims he uses it to purchase garri for them to soak,his wife delivered newly of a baby girl and is currently in Abuja in her in-laws house,painfully is that Mr B has been reduced to become a school cleaner in addition to his pastoral work,he according to him hardly have clothes to change,this is because of an incident that happened to him on how he was robbed on his way to Lagos from PH

The Head pastor and his wife owns two duplexes in Lagos but pays peanuts to Mr B and his wife,claiming that after all they gave them residence which on a norm its supposed to be furnished, but in this case they sleep on a mat.I feel like shedding tears typing this knowing that he came from a rich family and he chose to suffer so,according to him he thinks it is a badge of honor suffering for the call of God upon his life.
Please what do you advise him

As I write this article I feel so sad and ashamed of where we have come to find ourselves as a people of a nation,my heart is embittered,so much that I feel disgusted with the state of things,we need to tell ourselves the truth,we need to be very sincere with ourselves, we have a lot to settle in this nation,there is an excruciating pain like a bad tooth in our mouth that gives one headache that needs to be pulled off,and until it is done, nothing can be done.

Yes we have come a long way but unto what do we have as a testimony, 61 years of pain,sectionalism, internal chaos,bad governance, apathy and overall neglect

61 years of reckless abandon,hypocrisy and tears,our children leave the shores of this land and they who are bright bring pride to us,while some end up bringing shame,our government had become the main agents of causing division, we claim to be rich but live as beggars, if care is no taken the international community may give us a nick name of "The begging giant", We beg without shame,I am embarrassed.

Our so-called unity is badly fractured, and the government thinks of nothing, religion becomes a solace which also has some who provide false hopes to the people who could have been very much relaxed if things were working well in the country.

This is a country that applaud nonsense and shun sense,we have a name but lack the essence and substance, at 61 we are and have become a laughingstock of those whom we claim to be better than.

No job,no food,no security, no plan,no sympathy, wrong vision,distorted future,mounting secession, criminality in high places,no agenda,politicised military, disgruntled elements, poor international image,and fractured unity

Which way Nigeria?

Run!When you see those who are the role models of most Christians are those who have no heavenly regard and consciousness

Run!When comedy and clowns are more appreciated than truth preachers,evangelism is now old school

Run!When you feel intimidated to your faith in Christ

Jesus Christ is coming again,RUN!!!

It is possible for one to be highly certified in paper but it is another thing to be competent,most people boast with having high and brilliant certificates which I am not against, but the issue of one having a good result,getting a nice paying job is not enough,you must be able to deliver and deliver well.

Certificates can get you some good job but listen how does it look like when someone has a 2.1 or 2.2 or even a First class and is employed to work as a medic in a health firm but doesn't know what to do there.

These days it is not just a matter of just certs but you being able to "serve" or deliver,you need to know that,in a good and functional workplace it is known and upheld that meritocracy is what gets you into the highest echelon of the occupational ladder and this is based not only on academic qualification garnered but by competence and delivery of assigned functions and responsibility.

No serious firm celebrates mediocrity, every visionary institution knows the worth of competence in the life of those who work in it,when this is reduced or trampled upon or treated trivially such an organization downturns.

Certificates is good I as earlier said is not bad,but if you are not committed,dedicated and competent on that which you do or claim to have,you may not go too far.

In summary be competent in that which you do for that is the only thing that can set you apart and take you high in that career which you find yourself.

Back then so many years ago when we were tender our parents and guardians used to tell us "If you go to school 'immediately' you are coming out,job awaits you,in fact companies would be desperate to have you work for them"
We were so much happy hearing that.
Even in school we come across our teachers those years tell us if you don't go to school,you are doomed,infact you will be a nonetity and a laughingstock of the society, to this we became very much scared.

Those days I can vividly remember when we fantasize the choice courses we may want to offer in school,I can vividly remember myself saying "When I grow up I will be an accountant and work in world bank or CBN(smiles)

Growing up I saw myself changing courses almost six times,from accountancy to linguistics to international relations to theatre arts to law to political science (laughing)

The truth is that when I eventually entered high school,I saw those who came to lecture us on how to make it in life live in squalor,hunger and hopelessly pitiful,I was embarrassed, and I asked myself " success reject dis one?",I went into deep thinking.

Truth be told I came to largely discover that certificate is not the only thing one needs to be successful in life,that one needs to have a skill or business, my mindset continued to transcend for the better when I heard of a guy who then in school went into painting peoples houses and making it big,another one running a barbershop making cool cash even as a student.

These things our parents and teachers never told us,when I come across young ones I tell them especially those running to gain admission into higher institution and writing WASSCE fantasizing on pursuing bigger courses in school that they need to gain a skill also,yes incase the Almighty certificate doesn't get a job that skill or business idea can.

Nigeria get as e bi today,nor bi only by book pipple dey take chop today buh na by skill or business o.

Truth be told IPOB is just harming and hurting themselves and their own people, ignorance and illiteracy is a dangerous combination,the truth is that FG would rather laugh at the rot and stupidity of these miscreants than to raise any hands to help the East until a federal government asset is tampered with then Bubu will speak to them in the language they understand.
