Good day nairalanders


There's this young lady in the place I work,she works in the accounts department and records,she has this kind of body that in pidgin English it would be called 'small body nor bi sickness',slim dark and beautiful and this young lady looks elegant, I came to know lately that she's forty one,I was amazed.

Let's say her name is Lady P,she is so jovial with guys and quite playful with everyone, though some other times she's a bit reserved and moody,one thing that surprises me concerning her is that she talks down on the issue of settling down,she have said that most people have asked her about her relationship status but she gives no damn thought about that, to her she doesn't care.

Just this week she was talking to a colleague whom asked her about her issue of settling down,she just quipped on the issue that she's 'ready' to get married but not yet ready,she laughed,joked and waved it by the side,this to me is so weird.

She claims to live fine and satisfied but on the issue of marriage she categorically said that no one can push her into it,or make her do it,to her it is overrated,she's not yet satisfied,and marriage is not her priority.

This is the first time I am coming across such a lady,can she be what is called a feminist or is she manipulated, for crying out loud she thinks age is on her side.

Good morning nairalanders

This morning going to work I boarded a public transport, sat in the front with the driver and someone else,and in the usual driver-passenger discussion, the driver speaking in Igbo pointed to a burning debris,disgustingly he said that it is a burning corpse of robbers caught.

On Wednesday this week two robbers were burnt along MMC road Onitsha, at Upper Iweka,there is a decomposing stench of bodies in gutters,robbers caught for stealing.

Last year around November a thief was caught where I live,and before we could say Jack Robinson he was burnt to death agonizingly.

People are mobbed for things like stealing food,I don't encourage stealing but the rate of jungle justice in Anambra is becoming alarming,now in Onitsha if you come to see black ash or smoke on the road then know that suspiciously it must be a burning corpse.

Please it's irritating.

When I graduated from service newly,I was desperately looking for job,then in one of my searches I saw this vacancy I didn't know it was this glnd guys,the vacancy was for the post of a manager in a juice factory, I was like wow.

I copied the number on the poster to call,the crook behind the call was so soft in voice, she told me to send my name,state of residence and bla bla bla,I did,I wanted job no dulling, the next day I went to the so-called juice factory, men and brethren behold when I got there it was not anything close to a factory, I was like is this a joke.

Fast forward... I saw some other people seated in a kind of town hall, I wore my tie and suit thinking it was something meaningful, when I got there and saw ladies of different sizes probably in their early twenties and some guys and even old men I just parked well.

I asked one of the girls there that I was looking for Rachel(that's the name of the 'manager') They pointed me to one girl that I used my number six to guess that she probably graduated from secondary school newly,I said to myself 'na dis one bi manager?.....

Anyways...

She formed ',HRM' and began asking me question like 'what's your qualification and bla bla bla' I don't want long talk I was fully prepared I gave her to see my CV,I don't want to underestimate anybody, surprisingly she gave it back to me and then she told the others in the hall to sit and I to join them that they have lecture.

Lecture??

This one na mad....Funny thing is that these people in their introduction of their hype,will overhype you,they will call their speakers all sorts of exaggerated names like 'youngest millionaire',The chief of all chiefs,the this the that' they will just be talking nonsense!

To cut the story short...these hungry millionaires were asking me to bring 15k to become rich like them,and my job is to hawk gnld drugs that's how I will become rich....

It is a thing of shock these days that the wave of westernization is eating and taking deep hold of our society, lately I have come to discover that most of our people have come to discard almost everything that makes us unique and Africans, today we see celebrities who give names to their kids which some of these kids and even their parents have little or no idea about,well I believe in transculturation but it is evident that ours is going extremes,I am yet to see a white man bear an African indigenous name whose parents or ancestry has no African bearing.

It is becoming evident that our languages are even endangered,today we try to learn German,Chinese and even Greek is being taught in some schools but we don't have teachers teach our indigenous languages in our schools, even the parents don't speak it to their kids,I could imagine where these our languages would be in the nearest future when in some of our homes it is a taboo to speak it,we are even too ashamed to even market it.

I like how some of us are trying to revolutionize our cultural attires and food and sell them to the white man but on a greater part,most people in this part of the world are still mentally colonized which is a more subtle colonization,a situation where you think you are independent but your mind is still affected by the ideologies and thought of your 'former' colonial master

I believe one of the reasons India and China could become what they are today in the world is because they didn't allow much of westernization to affect their sociocultural life,rather they promoted their culture, worked on what uniqueness they have and market it to the world, though these two countries were once colonised by the big powers in the world,if you doubt go and check out these two countries, our problem is that we have opened ourselves to westernization so much to a fault,that we are fastly losing what we have.

2.Don't spend everything, save something:

3.Pursue Purpose before pleasure:
It's good to catch fun,once in awhile,but you got to sit up man, you got to understand what's your mission is here on earth,give your time to it and pursue it,and as you do soon you will achieve that means to enjoy

4.Avoid toxic people and wrong networks:
My guy this year try avoid dem....You can't afford to move with people not in your radar of thought,flock with the right clique and what they carry will cling to you

5.Work on yourself all round:
Eat well,dress well,smell nice,trim,take yourself out,read books,get a skill,further your studies or make plans towards that,gym and look smart...please let this year be different

6.Love people and love God:
This year no time for excess baggage o,free people, move on with your life,love people and serve God.
