This issue has been one of the reasons why most people who are non Christians stop from joining Christianity, some others who used to be Christians quit from being Christians and the high rate of coldness in the lives of many in the church today and the promiscuity in the church.

Sometimes I wonder why there are more churches in Africa and Nigeria in particular and there is still a high level of corruption and evil in the land, it really sends me wondering.
This issue is the issue of materialism in the church today,seen also in the preaching and various things which some of them still do.

We boast of having gospel singers as exports to the world and powerful preachers,but I got a confident report that some of these so-called preachers hate each other,secretly plan for each others downfall and are in steep competition with each other on who owns more assets and all,church is being run not with the spiritual understanding anymore but with and from a secular business mind perspective.

I was some time ago at a program where a known man of God in this country was invited,he started his preaching and then along the line he started asking the people to sow,he made sure he called down to 1k,he started from 1 million, saying that God revealed to him three persons he would want to bless by giving that 1 million, but only two reluctantly came out,he continued the act until 1k,for me I had to leave that place disappointed, I didn't expect such from him.

Today we have Christians who run ministry with a celebrity mindset,they are more interested in the praise singing of their fans than the praise of God, they are into bitter competition with others,greed has become the order of the day,that was how they will would come to meetings that some churches would pay through their nose to invite them and they will for a one hour show use 25 minutes doing something else unrelated to the program, talking exaggerated testimonies and all those paparazzi,that was how one gospel musician billed a church 15 million to perform.

One minister was complaining how the church he was a minister did not allow his kids attend the church school, making it only for the very rich...

I am not saying this to bring down the church but I think that this act is becoming a norm today in the church, even in Nigeria.

Just few days ago I saw here on this forum where it is argued that some ladies from one section of residence in Lagos(name withheld) cannot settle for a broke guy no matter what because they are having a high level expensive living which demands more money and well meaning guys or rich guys to cater for,so they don't date low class guys,and this was supported by a celebrity to be ideal.
Now my question is this,seeing that the orientation amongst most ladies are like this today,do we still have stories of rich ladies getting married to poor guys,or does only happen in Nollywood?

My NYSC experience was full of challenges, but the moment that stood out for me was when I was finally assigned to a PPA despite facing many obstacles. The benefits were beyond what I had expected - I received a generous stipend that was six times my corper allowance, and was provided with free accommodation and regular food provisions by my PPA. Despite joining my PPA later than others, I was entrusted with leading over 40 other corpers in the company complex. Although we encountered some setbacks, such as not being able to complete a borehole project for a remote community, the positive experiences during my service far outweighed any negatives. Glory be to God!

As NYSC celebrates 50 solid years of existence, I cannot help but thank God but also I vividly remember the incident of my going to camp with just 1500 naira hunger wanted to finish me and the incident of attack from village hooligans

The NYSC is a mandatory one year service of graduates from tertiary institutions to their fatherland in Nigeria, this program was designed by the Yakubu Gowon administration to facilitate national integration and unity in 1973,this program in some aspects has achieved that,but while in some areas it is adjudged not to and more needs to be done,some even said that it needs to be scrapped..

but so far so good,how do you see the NYSC scheme in this last fifty years?
Is it worth celebrating?
What are the failures and successes of the NYSC?
What should it improve upon?
