Luke 14:31. consider your strength before going to war. if you considered that you cannot overpower your enemy, make peace. Having said that, I believe war is never the solution because of the civilian populace. I am sure pregnant women, the aged, the sick, children couldn't have been involved in the war. so for their sake, Chief Awolowo could have advised FG to let Igbos go without war. the ethnic minorities could have been given the chance whether to join Biafra or remain in Nigeria. But the prospect of a landlocked Biafra in a vast turbulent plain of Nigeria appears bleak. The cost of keeping Nigeria one was too much on the part of Igbos. unfortunately, paying this manner of cost has always been the rule all over the world. N.B. Awo coming from prison may have felt obligated to keep Nigeria one afterall. If we stand here to condemn any of the actors without sharing blames across board we are guilty of the mistakes that we fail to rebuke. |
Mogidi:A 100 year Old Expert is better 10000 under 40, Quacks and intellectual rogues! |
kasiem:What a great leader...10% for the masses, 90% for the govt. (national budget) so long your Excellency! |
We are now to believe that Nigerians are too docile to demand for social change after 16 years of PDP govt. That 30 million youths are unemployed is irrelevant. that kidnapping and armed robbery are ravaging southern states are pointless. So the point is just religion and ethnicity. How about allegations of corruption. of course no one was caught with a smoking gun so what the heck? How can overhead budget for a mere 5 % of the population be 90% whilst the whole country gets 10%? It is simple it is better to spend 4 billion on feeding rich people at the villa than to build 400,000 clinics to save lives. Why should we hold Jonathan accountable when other leaders failed us in time past? But I ask at what point should we say enough is enough if we cannot do this after a man has spent about 5 years as our leader still giving excuses for power failure, insecurity, unemployment, fuel importation, etc. Conspiracy is part of politics but a leader who is proactive will make himself accountable to the people so that if his conspirators succeed like Brutus against Ceaser, his legacy will stand him out. When GEJ goes, I wander how many villagers will point to his legacy after six months. In the west we are still talking of Awo legacy I spite of colonial struggle, trial and jail term. Every household can point to something of enduring value. I do admit that some elements want change for divergent reasons, notwithstanding, change is socially and politically logical given lacklustre leadership by PDP in the last 16 years. |
pazeinza:As a Nigerian from the Yoruba ethnic nationality I find nothing cheery about our Federal Character. of over 250 ethnic groups we are the most favoured because of our homogeneous nature. I feel that, anyone with a sense of fairness should be more interested in the minorities who have no representation at all. Above all we must look beyond the hollow exclusiveness of "mee too" to the nobler inclusiveness "we all". It is in this this that we all regardless of identity can find the fullest expression of individual selves. |
MizMyColi:Did AIT malign/criticize Buhari in Good faith? No! NBC reprimanded both AIT and NTA for airing malicious propaganda against GMB. Now AIT wants a front row seat with the Gen. Is it too much to ask for terms of engagement? Read About other western world actions against malicious media. distinguish between extremely harsh criticism from an ideologically hostile media or organization on the one hand and a paid propaganda of half truths and full blown lies engineered towards character assassination. Trust me it is easier to debate openly and befriend the former who sincerely attacks than the latter who makes profit from your misery |
SeverusSnape:AIT was a media Tyrant because the pen is said to be! "mightier than the sword" GMB has not violated press freedom in anyway. The advice to AIT is for it to sort out its ethical issues |
Equalizer:S A R D A U N A AHMADU BELLO THAT WAS MURDERED AND WHOSE MURDER WAS CELEBRATED BY HIS MURDERERS. Not A SULTAN who died in a plane crash. |
The foreign backers of the abokki better teach him. Otherwise we Igbos will remind him that democracy is in our nature.[/ Every ethnic group will have its say and Majority of Nigerian people will have their way as they did in the elections. Every ethnic champion better align with national agenda. Nigeria will not bow to ethnic interest. |
Acekidc4:No man`s land indeed. But Jk deserves a leadership role in Lagos. He has paid his dues only fell into bad company lately. He is our worthy son. |
ichidodo:Don't encourage this man ooooooooooooooooo. his postings must be infuriating fayose self |
macjive01:As much as I am amused by these symptoms of depression. I cannot go to church tomorrow with the knowledge that we all watched this guy slip into madness. Can anyone help him with Alabukun and a glass of water? |
Texcoco:"Teef..nubu" This singular slur doomed your prediction. Ambode wins. |
emonkey:Good job:- what these insolent elements call backstabing is what I don't understand. If it is about the alleged betrayal by Awo during the civil war it means these elements have a misplaced sense of direction. Assuming we both wanted war. then before war broke out i cautioned you to embrace peace but you went to war. you suffered casualties and you now blamed me for backstabbing you. If war is an absolute why did you surrender. why did you come back to peace. why did you not take the biblical advice that should audit your military strength before going to war? why do people believe in attack before crying for peace when faced with brute force? This may sound quite immodest but Yorubas have sufficient land mass, and shoreline with capital to be a self reliant. having no cause to fight with other tribes who leave happily in their own lands |
DeeManD:My judgment:- After reviewing the evidence and the argument by the learned counsel for the accused, I am inclined to hold that the prosecutor must prove beyond reasonable doubt that the accused person was actually sharing the money to onlookers or registeted voters or for the purpose of inducement to vote. Whether the counting of money as the evidence suggest is equal to sharing it for the purpose of inducing voters has no basis in our criminal law. I therefore acquit and discharged the accused person for want of clear evidence! |

Babymama1:No one owes anyone anything. You can even undermine anyone interest if you have the power to do so. But i assure you one day what made Whites to supect blacks, middle east to be at war, Zionists to hate gentiles, straights to hate queers, that inexplicable emotions of entitlement will clash and if you are no powerful or bigger than the tragic period of the civil war, then you learn that it is better to follow peace with all men. if you have two legs two arms and an armoured tank remember millions of your brethren that are helpless. when you stand in a market place of thousands of relatives and demand the head of the one that offended you be careful of what they will do as solidarity. Ask why there is amnesty if you could just eliminate criminals! the truth is human right bends to jurisprudence of law as necessity requires. law does not operate in a vacuum of culture. Every tribe has achievers only culture determines how talents come to fruition. If you think that Igbos in their little landllocked portion in Nigeria are more favoured by God than other tribes in Nigeria then I admire your optimism. But before you declare a war dont think of your escape roots should things become too hot think of the millions who limp after your banner of "WE ARE THE BEST" |
levelszik:It is far dangerous to confront an Oba in Yorubaland. Obas are not intalled to satisfy megalomanic delusions. They are esteemed as companions of god. Kabiyesi simply means you cannot question him. However there are ways that abuse office by an Oba can be checked. Tradotionally, penalty for abuse is. literal suicide for the Oba. Those who dare Obas in Yorubaland as Yoruba sons are spiritulally grounded so a sidewind palace justice might not affect. For me, I can only say an Oba, Emir, Eze or any King should not be angry. I will be Like Jesus and the apostles who refused to engage earthly authorities in verbal violence. For those who chide Yorubas, wait until you dare an Emir in the North and you will understand another level of reaction to your own sense of entitlement. |
Gbawe:I don think any judge that is worth his gavel shld consider it a greater sacrifice than were he to lose his job in a heroic and historic quest for dethroning tyranny of 7 greater than 19. |
ArmedForces:more questions. Why are his people in the vanguard of Triumphant Change today? Why are the universities of his people the best in Nigeria today? Why is his univerisity the midwife of the Only Nobel Prize laureate in Nigeria? Why are his books the only reference point of his time on equal opportunities for ethnic minorities and federalism? Why do we have Awoists and no other ideological movement in Nigeria? Why was he the first to build TV station in Africa notwithstanding white overlords in South Africa? Why did his prophecy that jailing him will spell doom for Nigeria come to pass? Why was he released from prison and elevated to the position that he had wanted in govt? Why are his proteges always in the vanguard of checks and balances without hurriedly decamping as we are witnessing today? Why after death he is still sensational issue in a generation that barely knew him. To you he may be a tribalist villain but to those who enjoyed the benevolence of his leadership, he remains a hero. Before you condemn him come forward with what you or your own hero has done to lead people out of oppressive regime of hegemonism and capitalism. Awo was a mother hen that protected his chicks from maruders and he did it at the expense of his liberty. Some simply traded theirs for power and glory. Today you cannot say Yorubas have been economically marginalised nor are seen running around during elections for fear of reprisal attacks or retribution. They will give you honour and respect in your own land with the sincere believe in your right. they will not create a dominion of kings within other peoples tribes and go on a parade of importance. They have one thing in common with every tribe so they can easily develop a relationship and break it easily too. As christians they can relate with liberal Ibos and as moslems they can relate with liberal Hausas. They can smile at you for taking them for a fool and surprise you with a fierce battle once you your cup is fool, nay, full. so people take delight in cheating them and calling them back stabbers because they expect them to be as compliant as cows being led to a slaughter. As humans they have their failings, yet they have the foremost prophets of God in Africa. Why? innately they believe in the possibility of selfless fellowship of humankind! This, my dear is Awo! |
Berylpharm:one billion people cannot hold down the progress of any state no matter their constitutional authority. ALL that we need to make sure that they don't stand in the way is for us to find A Holy Governor, a handful of Holier minority honorables, and the Holiest band of soldiers. once we have this, our future is better without opposition and we will all live happily ever after! |
AS CLUELESS AS HE APPEARS. JONATHAN IS AN 1DIOT OF INTERNATIONAL STANDARD. A USELESS COWARD FROM OTUOKE. NO WONDER THE COWARDS BETRAYED THE IGBOS DURING BIAFRA WAR. USELESS MAN And COMPOUND I.DIOT[/quote if you have been following a man for six years and suddenly you called him all these names, it means you even inferior to him! |
It is evil that repays evil. I plead with you all by your children or unborn children celebrate Buhari and GEJ together. Here is a country that leaders have gone to civil war, staged coups, annulled elections, rigged elections, pursued third term etc. But now we have a dispensation of relative freedom. let us see the virtues of both gentlemen so that we can all live happily ever after. |

Sweetguy25:Haba! I can't even say such a foul thing to a man GEJ even though I want his administration evicted. you have no right to address anyonelike that because you are worth more than that to anyone no matter your mistakes. |
Kelklein:na consolation story be that o for 2011 na gbem we de see for ss/se. now e be like say internal kasala don pour sand sand for their garri now. or i fit be say na kerosene then take soak their garri now. the thing no gree shake |
bamidele029:for Fayose controlled state, you must give Ekiti distinction for giving Buhari 40% pass. the election was neither free nor fair. it was stranglehold politicking but Ekiti managed to give Buhari more than what PDP planned for him (5%). |
dadexcel:GMB, GCfR, President Elect Of FRN has a clear path to victory with more than 35% vote credit from the good people of Ekiti State. |
Eyepencil:Take heart, that is what you call realtime sample votes and exit polls. Have you wandered how cnn projects winners in polls even with just 1% of the polls.? we have the same voting demographic in each state. OF COURSE THIS WORKS ONLY UNDER A FREE AND FAIR ELECTION. |
scantee:i wanted to give you benefit of the doubt as per your "inner sources" but with your recent "development" I must recommend a glass of water and Alabukun for you! |
