I am sure pregnant women, the aged, the sick, children couldn't have been involved in the war. so for their sake, Chief Awolowo could have advised FG to let Igbos go without war. the ethnic minorities could have been given the chance whether to join Biafra or remain in Nigeria. But the prospect of a landlocked Biafra in a vast turbulent plain of Nigeria appears bleak. As a Nigerian from the Yoruba ethnic nationality I find nothing cheery about our Federal Character. of over 250 ethnic groups we are the most favoured because of our homogeneous nature. I feel that, anyone with a sense of fairness should be more interested in the minorities who have no representation at all. Above all we must look beyond the hollow exclusiveness of "mee too" to the nobler inclusiveness "we all". It is in this this that we all regardless of identity can find the fullest expression of individual selves.
