Which one be your own, are you the one been addressed? You better pack to one side if you dont have any meaningful contribution to make, people are complaining that they've been shortchanged by NASS management and you're spewing r-ubb-ish.

I think it is high time EFCC wade into this matter and bring to book the corrupt officials who is withholding people's money. What is the crime of these people when their principals have all been paid since July 2015

That is Nigeria's largest white elephant!

The plant is a very unproductive plant compared to the super modern ones today.

Also there is a massive glut of steel inn the world market from China.

China has an excess capacity of over 250m tons. These has led to the dumping of steel and the EU and America have been forced to impose anti-dumping duties on chinese steel.

Its far cheaper to import than to make steel locally. Making steel here will put local users at a competitive disadvantage due to very steep prices.

Govt should do the needful. They should dynamite the place and ring it for miles with mines and lease the place out to ISIS
The bolded to me is not correct since the primary source of raw material is in abundance in our country. What put China at advantage if not for the presence of abundance iron ore of which Nigeria can equally boast of? It seems Nigerians have been brainwashed by lazy government who have failed woefully in the responsibility to industrialised the nation. That is the reason why they always clamour for the removal of subsidy citing the importation cost of refined product but look other way when it comes to refining crude.

Discerning minds already see that there is provision of N350bn (?) revenue from looted fund in the budget. It's first time in our history that a govt has included recovery from looted money in our budget.

Sure, the president has no justification for still keeping those presidential jets. Anything more than four or five jets is a no-no for me.

The chnage is real and original. It's a change from impunity to civility/probity/accountability. A change from stealing is not corruption to one that punishes looters of our common wealth. A change from wastage to effective and efficient management of our resources.

@Robonski and Soft777, the demand for gelatin feeds seems to be more than supply and that necessitated the inflated price by distributors. Please dont try to defend them rather kindly do your investigation and ensure they are not working against your objectives and goals.

Having said that, i want to know whether gelatin feed[grower] and super weight are of the same protein percentage. If the [grower] is 60% crude protein @ 200 per kg, how do we ensure lower prices of between 150-180 per kg as canvassed by Soft777 in his Feed formulation discussion since the idea is to reduce cost of feed in order to maximise profit?

Again, According to an Article posted by Prof Robonski concerning adulterated feed and some popular feeds protein contents being lower than what their products claim, how is the quality assurance going to be extended to the distributor so the end users wont fall into the same sharp practices we are running from.

What is the implication of using gelatin feed 60% crude protein [grower] to formulate individual feed say 40% crude protein to reduce cost since adult catfish doesnt require as much protein to perform very well

Should we call some Nigerian dead brain or what?

That Jonathan government pushed the BH back toward the end of his tenure, so?
That Buhari technically defeated BH without purchase of Arms, so?

What does that tells you? It simply mean that the fight against BH was perpetually exaggerated by the previous government and only create an avenue for the government to siphon our money for personal purposes while allowing the monster to fester like a wild fire. For Buhari to recapture towns and villages under control of BH should tell you that Jonathan government could have wiped out this dreaded terrorist with available resources at the disposal of Nigeria Army without further procurement of firearms.

Your insinuation is an indictment on the government you are trying so hard to support. You people should stop this irritating and illogical reasoning

@ Robonski, I will want to be a distributor in Abj axis, but then what are the criteria.

Can it be pelletised? Can it be mixed with other feed ingredients to formulate personal formula?

What are the results of the tested feed on catfish so far?

Can it be fed to other fishes like tilapia etc?

How do one get it in Abj as fast as possible because am looking forward to feed my fish with this wonderful feed?

You & co are really doing wonderful job by taking your time to go into series of research to arrive at a feed with 60%crude protein. This is indeed awesome, and it going to transform the industry provided the supply would spread across the country and able to coop with the demand

@ Ttalk.. There is no way you will compare the feeds produce by all these giant companies to what private individuals produce. They have the advantage of professionals and well defined equipments at their disposal, not to talk of availability of resources. Individuals just wants to cut cost and bypass major ingredients in producing the feeds all in the name of making more profit. We also have fake and expired ingredients flying around , all at the mercy of our fish. So there is no doubt , the industrial produced feeds wiil generate frenzy approach than the locally produced feeds , except if the individual is ready to spend and have access to the right ingredients. But not to worry , our dear Robonsky is at the top of the situation, as his new feed with high protein content will soon hit the market and like he said , it going to be very affordable by all.
My boss, i appreciate your quick response and am in line with your submission of constraint we get in feed formulation, but i think we can still beat them to their game if we can get that secret, that stimulate rapid and frenzy feeding, this i think will reduce cost because majority of local feed producer depend on fish oil and fish meal to boost feed acceptability which is expensive compare to that SECRET INGREDIENT that can stimulate feeding with less dependence on fishmeal
Agriculture › Re: Hidden Truths About Catfish Business!!! by Ttalk:
Soft777, Robonski, Nuvembarzint'l, Ayosat, Abix and other gurus, your attention is highly needed here. My concern has been on how to enhance locally pelletized feed to be as attractive to catfish as foreign and some Nigerian extruded feed such as Coppens, Multifeed and Vitalfeed.
For example I observed that catfish get frenzy when they eat Vitalfeed compare to locally pelletized feed, [not that they dont eat local pelletised feed] even when fish oil is added to their feed they are not as exited compare to when they eat Vital feed/Multifeed/Coppens etc

WHAT IS THE NAME OF THAT CONCENTRATES / ATTRACTANT, THAT MAKES CATFISH GET CRAZY?

I am asking this question because i know most of these extruded feed has high percentage of plant protein compare to locally feed that are rich and fortified with fish meal and other animal protein yet dont get the same palatibility compare to these extruded feed.

This is not a question of whether the feed is rich or not, but the feed acceptability/palatibility is one secret that is still missing in locally pelletised feed. How can we ensure that catfish devour locally pelletised feed the way they consume Vital feed/Multifeed/Coppen/Zeighlar?

@Ttalk. U dont need to run if you know your way. Many Farmers are making it in the North and they dont pelletize for 40-50 as u claimed. We have market here.
That is what they charge in popular Feedmill in Abuja [I wont mention the name] but would want to know where i can pelletise between 10-15 in Abuja and its environs.

Thank you

Edited:
The one you referred me to charge 50naira and agree to do it for me at 40naira provided im ready to pelletise minimum of 500kg. Maybe they have different prices for different people. How much do they charge you since you also pelletise there?

@Soft777 and Robonski, me i don carry my kaya port sharp, sharp, only be say there seems to be no river not to talk of PORT in this area. On a serious note how are you going to accommodate Abuja people and other parts of the north where fish farming is still at the kindergarten?

Most of us farmers here are suffering in silence because of few monopolising the business. Imagine pelletising here cost as much as 40-50 per kg depending on the type of the feed. With these arrangement how do we get adequate supply of the feed when the people from the South have already taken position?

How do we register?

Again you guys are hot, i mean you re doing great.

Politics › Re: Diversification Is The Solution To Oil Dependence??? Think Again & Read This! by Ttalk: 11:30am On Dec 18, 2015
Diversification itself is not a bad idea, like the comment above me stated, if only our agencies and ministries can rise up to their responsibilites is when we will begin to get result. Imagine who could have though NCC has teeth to bite hard into the fleshy abdomen of MTN with a world record of fine to the tune of N1trillion. Just like one will expect NERC to fine DISCOS for hoarding prepaid meter and extorting gullible nigerians with exorbitant bills without commensurate electricity supply.
To me politicians are the enemy of the people, this explain the lackadaisical attitude of the government toward taking some bold steps to reduce wastage and increase her revenue. The continue demand from the political elite is putting unnecessary pressure on the President, and if care is not taken the popularity he enjoy among the masses will have wane away by the end of 2016.

What is wrong with our policy makers? What is so difficult in transforming your natural resources to the betterment of your people? This morning, the queue in filling stations in Abuja calls for question the sincerity of the government to end the perennial suffering of the people who could not get petroleum product that its value is almost equal to a table water in international market.
.
What stops the president from leading by example, servicing 10 presidential jet at 2.5billion during this austerity should not be heard in the camp of party that promise change. A lot more could be done to galvanise the people toward change but the government, the party, the president needs to do things differently, they are running out of time and we are running out of patience.

Boss soft777 thank you so much for your help so far I really appreciate you sir. I want to use this opportunity to let the house know that the feed formula that soft777 gave me is working magic. My fingerlings of 2months and 2weeks added an average weight of 100grams -150grams in two weeks. Some above 150grams. The fishes now have an average weight of 300grams - 350grams, 400grams-500grams and some above 600grams. They will be 3 months on 3rd of January. I will keep the house posted. Thanks to all the gurus in the house.
Can you please post the formula of the feed, it seems we're on the same page, mine will be 3month by Jan 2 and they are presently weighing similar kg like yours and i intend going to the mill tomorrow Saturday or next week depend on when i finally made up my mind.

I have posted my intended formula earlier and seeks contribution from experience farmers of which Soft777 considered is on the high side.

Please i count on your input.

@Soft777, please what crude protein content would you recommend for fish of 2month - 4month.

Also, what should be the minimum ANIMAL PROTEIN [fish meal]for local feed require for fish of this age?

This will really help me arrive at a reasonable price

Pls oga Soft777 and other gurus kindly advice on my formula

FM [Clupeid] 30kg
Soybean 30kg
GNC 5kg
Brewery waste 25kg
Corn flour 10kg
Premix and Lysine included
Crude protein 42%
Fish to be fed from 2and half month to 4months
Kg Cost N238 [Pelletising cost included]

This is based on available raw material in my area. Can the kg price be reduce to say N170 and still make good feed with good protein content?

What adjustment would you recommend? Your contribution is highly welcome

This man called Dokpesi should be thoroughly investigated and prosecuted if found guilty.
