SportsRe: Usyk Wants Joshua Rematch In Ukraine by ttmacoy: 6:41pm On Sep 27, 2021
A rematch clause does not mean Joshua dictates the location, it means Usyk is contractually bound to fight Joshua next unless Joshua decides not to take it up, it DOES NOT say Joshua determines where or it must be the UK.

The location will be driven by many factors mostly driven by where the promoters can get the most money, and as champ Usyk can also try to force the location and if Joshua says he will not rematch because it is not in the UK then it looks very very bad on him because it means he is afraid. The Joshua v Ruiz rematch was in Saudi primarily due to money and Ruiz went with it to cash out as that was the location that provided the most money for him.

I concede that Usyk will most likely make more money if the rematch is in the UK or somewhere Eddie Hearn is able to find rich sponsors using Joshua's brand, but that is not Joshua having the contractual right to determine the location it is driven by the most money available.

jaxxy:
Not for a rematch clause.
SportsRe: Usyk Wants Joshua Rematch In Ukraine by ttmacoy: 11:43am On Sep 27, 2021
He holds the belts, yes he can. He came to fight Joshua in his hometown, why can’t Joshua do the same?

jaxxy:
Usyk can’t demand that now. Joshua is not an ordinary challenger.
SportsRe: Usyk Wants Joshua Rematch In Ukraine by ttmacoy:
Difference is Ruiz got fat and lazy after his win and wasn’t a top fighter in the first place.

Usyk who has already been undisputed champion for cruiser weight division will not get fat and lazy and will instead improve for the rematch. He is a true warrior and fighter.

Ruiz win was based on some punches that destabilized AJ, Usyk win was based on an amazing display of boxing skills and acumen which broke Joshua down over 12 rounds. Aj cannot improve his stamina to Usyk level in a few months.

The best he can do is focus on trying to bully him and KO him quick but that exposes him to Usyk jab and movement and can get him KO too. Joshua does not have the natural brawler attitude like Chisora or Whyte who can show the mindset of I will rather lose trying than being scared and cautious and if you KO me fine, once Joshua gets hit he gets cautious and restrained and does not go for broke. And also Usyk already went 12 rounds with Chisora so we know he can handle that style of opponent.

Usyk footwork is on another level, his cardio and stamina is amazing so if Aj throws it all and doesn’t get him out early he will gas out quick and Usyk will beat him down for the rest of the fight.

suffering:
Joshua will go back to the gym and learn sprints like his life depends on them. That was how he ‘beat’ Ruiz during the rematch. We should prepare to watch a performance reminiscent of Usain Bolt’s races next year.
SportsRe: Anthony Joshua Loses To Oleksandr Usyk By Unanimous Decision by ttmacoy: 4:55pm On Sep 26, 2021
Errr no, what do you define as rookie?

Yes Joshua has a bigger brand and is more popular as he has been well marketed by Eddie Hearn etc but please stop saying Usyk is a rookie, that’s an insult to his accomplishments.

The guy aside being a gold medal Olympic champion same as Joshua he unified his division which means he took ALL the belts, Joshua doesn’t have all heavyweight belts yet as Fury still holds the IBF belt. And then he came and beat Joshua and took his belts and you’re calling him a rookie.

And no he didn’t just make a name, to casual fans eg Nigerians who only watch because of Joshua maybe but true boxing fans know Usyk. Since the world championship series etc he has been shining.

I guess to your Vasiyl Lomachenko is a rookie as well?

wizdomnzube:

What's special about Usyk?

SportsRe: Anthony Joshua Loses To Oleksandr Usyk By Unanimous Decision by ttmacoy:
Usyk is not a rookie. He was Olympic gold medal winner, undisputed cruiserweight champ before moving up to heavyweight and even before the fight I said here on normal and that he way more skilled and has more stamina than Aj so Aj has to win by KO early to have a chance.

wizdomnzube:
Haha... he was boring and lacked strategy. His trainer couldn't even help with anything useful to help AJ defeat the rookie.

He was just standing there and receiving those heavy punches from Usyk.

SportsRe: Usyk: Size Don’t Matter, AJ Will Fall Like A Pack Of Cards by ttmacoy:
Disageee. AJ is stronger yes but Usyk is more skilled as a boxer. Main concern for Usyk is if he can perform as a heavyweight the same way he did as a cruiser weight.

I think Aj will win but if he doesn’t KO him early he is at risk of losing to Usyk on points. Usyk has way better cardio and stamina than Aj and can take the later rounds. Anyway hope it’s a good fight.

I think the deal to leave was the right one, after 20 years and trillions of dollars plus loss of US life and there is no headway then they should leave. The issue here is not that Trump made the deal to leave but that Biden committed to the August 31 pullout date without a proper plan to evacuate all Americans and give other Western allies time to do the same before the Taliban take over.

Now that there is not enough time to get everyone out by August 31 the Taliban is refusing to extend the deadline agreed.

I totally support the decision to move out be it made by Trump or Biden, its the execution that is the issue here. Biden's military advisors say they told him the Talban have the ability to take over quicker than expected which should have meant planning contingency to ensure there is enough time for an orderly extraction but Biden claims he can't remember.

@ your comment US failure to produce a sustainable Afghan Army and police, the Afghans also share blame as they must also want to be able to defend their country from the Taliban. Putting all the blame on the US and none on the Afghans makes no sense. You were trained for 20 years, funded and armed and yet you capitulate and give up on days, that’s a huge shame on them as well. Their president ran away with lots of money like a coward.

Even untrained militia armed with cutlass and hoe will last longer than that.

Billions Spent on Afghan Army Ultimately Benefited Taliban.
Well Built and trained at a two-decade cost of $83 billion, the ultimate beneficiary of the American investment turns out to be the Taliban.

They grabbed not only political power but also U.S.-supplied firepower — guns, ammunition, helicopters and more.

The U.S. failure to produce a sustainable Afghan army and police force, and the reasons for their collapse, will be studied for years by military analysts.
The basic dimensions, however, are clear and are not unlike what happened in Iraq.
The forces turned out to be hollow, equipped with superior arms but largely missing the crucial ingredient of combat motivation.

And what was the alternative? Stay there forever?

While it is painful what is happening the US had to leave be it by Trump or Biden, after 20 years and billions and billions of dollars the only alternative is to stay there forever trying to keep the Taliban at bay.

All the other western countries have pulled most of their forces leaving the US holding the bag so putting Trump v Biden aside the US had to leave unfortunately.

We all claim China is taking over as the next superpower but you notice they only act outside their region economically? The US should learn from that and start focusing more inwards, infrastructure is crumbling and billions is being spent propping up Afghanistan in a situation that is only a matter of time. Saudi etc should fund it if they want the US to help stabilize the region, and that was the point stump was making about NATO, most of the countries haven’t met up to their financial commitments leaving the US to pay the bulk, makes no sense anymore.

Don’t forget the Soviet Union tried to take Afghanistan and failed as well so staying and spending billions more would not yield any result and will only delay the inevitable.

Thank you. The bolded is the key.

Well, I know for a fact, that if you live in Texas, earn $50k (gross income not take home pay), live a life that is not extravagant (I don't mean suffer yourself), you will save much more more than 9k and live better quality life than most people living in Nigeria.
TravelRe: It Is Impossible To Save $25 (₦10,000) Daily Abroad by ttmacoy: 6:35pm On Jul 19, 2021
Because CNBC said it doesn't mean its gospel, this article says the average staring salary for graduates is $50k.

https://www.indeed.com/career-advice/pay-salary/average-salary-for-college-graduates

So this $50k and saving depends on a lot of things, a young single person can save on that money, if that is the income for a married couple with kids then yes it will be very very hard though the household income should be higher if both are working.

Location also matters, there are places in Texas you can buy a fairly big house and pay mortgage of $600 a month. Many cities outside London are significantly lower cost as well so using a generic $50k for all of the US and Europe makes no sense.

dake40:
The OP made concrete analysis and even quoted CNBC, so you sabi pass CNBC?

$50k isn't always the take home, you pay tax which atimes could be over $8k depending on the location, putting other expenses into considerations, saving $9k might be hellish
TravelRe: It Is Impossible To Save $25 (₦10,000) Daily Abroad by ttmacoy: 6:30pm On Jul 19, 2021
Instead of using a generic $50k salary, a better way for people to assess and compare is to compare income for same types of jobs in both the US or UK to Nigeria to compare like for like.

You use handwork in Nigeria so let's say a plumber, a plumber in the US will make way more than $50k a year and compared to the N10k a day is way better off financially. I hired a handyman recently to do some work for us and cost over $500 for his day rate and I had to book him over 2 months in advance to show how busy he is. Same with electricians etc.

If your point is to show that Nigeria is not that bad then that's fair and will depend on individual assessment rather than a blanket generic approach as you're trying to do. The fact remains majority of jobs underpay in Nigeria and do not keep up with the way costs are rising but yes there are some where they are better off to remain in Nigeria rather than travel abroad especially when they are established in their careers in Nigeria and doing well only to go and start all over abroad.

nigeriandream14:
I have done a thorough research and my findings are very interesting. I hope the Moderators considers me worthy to move this to the front page.

It is impossible for someone earning $50,000 annually abroad to save $25 daily (Over $9,000 annually). Majority, if not all of western countries consider people making $50,000 as middle class. $25 dollars is just 10,000 naira daily. I believe most Nigerians with handwork can make that much comfortably daily. I am not trying to discourage anyone from traveling abroad, I just want us to have a rethink and see that Nigeria is not that bad as we portray it to be. Drivers, laborers, petty businesses etc all make over 10,000 daily. Forget the daily complain of hardship we read online daily. It is a Nigerian trait. Tens of millions of our citizens do actually make above 10,000 daily. What we need to do is cultivate the saving habits of our brothers who live in diaspora. Nigerians only learn how to save when they travel abroad. If we work on ourselves, saving a million naira annually won't be a problem. Thanks

TravelRe: It Is Impossible To Save $25 (₦10,000) Daily Abroad by ttmacoy: 6:12pm On Jul 19, 2021
This same old argument, if you live within your means yes you can save on $50k per annum in most cities in the US, if you live outside London in the UK and in many European cities. In some like NYC or LA etc. it may be very tight but it majority if the US very very possible. You cannot analyze this with very generic statements like in Europe or US, costs vary significantly across the US and Europe.

You ignore the fact that these people do not have the same desperation to accumulate cash like Nigerians and live to enjoy their lives now rather than wait till they get to heaven so that guy who earns $50k and is not saving much will still go on vacation every year, eat out and have his/her little enjoyment and self care.

I will agree that it is hard to save if you do not have discipline as its very easy to spend spend spend in a country like the US, but if you have discipline, follow a budget and live within your means yes you can save. Also don't forget your after tax amount also includes deductions for pensions etc. so it's not just taxes.

Also your analysis is based on a single person who can rent cheaper accommodation like house share, studios etc. Things get better when they marry as it is now based on household income.

The 2 are Haitian born with US citizenship. I do not see how the US government was involved in this. It didn't make any sense right from the time they reported that they said the were DEA agents, US government will not use DEA agents for such, it will be special forces, CIA etc. This is an inside job within Haiti.

What are you insinuating?

Do those entities have physical presence in Nigeria? No. Are they the only platforms making money from NIgerians no. What this actually translates to is that the government will be taxing virtually every website that generates income from NIgerians. If that doesn't translate to hardship for Nigerians, no problem.

The question is, why is Buhari all of a sudden interested in taxing tech companies heavily?

I don’t believe it at all simply because with how cheap Mykonos is he could probably buy the restaurants and still have change from that amount.

They said he had 5 bottles of champagne and food so unless each bottle of champagne is €125,000 this not practically possible. What food did they eat that cost that much?

If his plan is to continue the jobs he currently does, those hourly rates will not go far in Canada and is pretty much minimum wage if not lower.

If he decides to go to Canada he should be ready to find other better paying jobs or focus on cheaper countries where the pay will be worth more.

Good evening.
I for once would suggest Canada, you can check the Canadian thread for more info.
I suggested that place since you are a family man and you already have a work so you won't be struggle for job when you get there. I think it will be a good environment for your family.
I suggestion is based on their not too populous population which I feel is great and the climate.
I hope nobody would come for me because this is a mere suggestion based on personal research and also because of your reasons for leaving Nigeria.
TravelRe: What's Your Second Choice Country After Nigeria. by ttmacoy:
One thing to be aware of when you say Canada is less populated is that most of Canada is barely populated due to it being very cold and majority of people live near the US border so the population density of those cities are similar to US cities anyway.

Also comparing US about 330 million people to Nigeria’s what 200 million and yet the US 11 times the size of Nigeria, you will not have an issue with too many people except a few cities like NYC, and that’s really just the city proper the rest of the state is sparsely populated.

Other cons of low population countries like Canada is economic growth hence why Canada tends to have lower paid jobs and high costs, issues with infrastructure as the cost person is very high trying to invest in infrastructure across such a large piece of land compared to smaller compact countries where the tax cost per person is lower.

Anyway long story short Canada is a nice country but it also has its cons and sometimes the way it is portrayed on nairaland is like it’s all positive and good, it’s not.

I can’t figure out if you’re joking here or not, really she should wait 12 months of no contact from her husband?

Even if she was pressuring him that is NO justification at all to go awol from your wife, no justification at all. The only reason that makes sense as others have already said is he is no interested in the marriage anymore and is probably in another relationship for papers. The fact his family are silent shows they are in on it as well.

phabulous88:
You can't really claim spousal abandonment until at least 12 months.

You guys got married last year, he traveled back to Canada shortly after and communication between you two was good, at least for some time.

4 months ago, he cut communication with you. Anything could be wrong. Did anything change about you after he moved back to Canada? Were you putting undue pressure on him? Like finance and putting pressure on him to file for you so you can join him?

Again, it's possible that he's not married and that email from his 'other wife' could be him sending it to you to give him some space.

Relax! Your case is not ideal but give the young man some time. He's a student. 20 hours/week and he's funding his studies and stuff.

Just 4 months of no communication and you're already thinking of contacting agencies and bringing the poor man down. What will you do when you land? Like I said earlier, you can claim spousal abandonment until at least 12 months.

Calm down!
