tony5: Good Evening, I am an NCE holder in social studies and have a degree in Education Human Kinetics(PHE), How can I apply for the teaching position in Australia?
Which university? Unlock your teaching dream in Australia #teachers #migration
I have finally received my TRA assessment as successful after 8-9 months of waiting.
Kindly advise on this, the letter did not state my years of experience. With this how do I know the number of years of experience and claim as points?
I'm writing my PTE next Month and log an EOI.
Regards
Congratulations! The MSA letter does show that. You need to sign up for MPA (Migration Points Advice) if you want it, although it’s not compulsory. Claim points as long as you have documents for especially 3rd party documents
johnikwoyi: Hi house, good morning…so I have my Bsc in sociology and 5 years working experience as a social worker. Can I go ahead to apply for a social worker role under the skilled or what do you advise I do Thanks in anticipation
blizyao: Good evening everyone Please is there any registered migrant agent in Nigeria to assist with the process?
I can’t seem to find any roles on the skilled migration list that fits into what I currently do.
I’ve worked in sales for a little over 3 years, in two financial institutions as a relationship officer.
Please any assistance will be highly appreciated. I can also share my JD’s incase anyone has any ideas of what roles would be best fit.
Thank you.
IF you work in Sales in a bank at the branch level (marketer like it's fondly called), then your occupation is no longer on the Australian occupation list. You can explore other visa options/country

standfit007: Hi Tunlex01, Thanks for the efforts on this channel. I was surprised to receive a positive assessment response from ACS today; i submitted on 22 March.
I have now applied(EOI) for 491(65 points) and 190(55 points).
1. I checked pasts ITAs from 2020-2023(as found on the offcial gov.au site) and noticed that 190 visa had more numbers of invites. Note, I didn't applied for this in my first EOI submission but had to update afterwards (to put in) for 190. Could you share some insights on this trend?
2. There is this "gazetted professional year in Australia", and noticed ACS(my assessment authority) was mentioned as one that provies this. Could you share thought on this as per the number of points this can fetch one? Secondly do you have experience with this generally?
3. I could understand that one way to increase my point is another english test with higher score. What other ways can i increase my points?
4. From your experience and/or trend, is 65 a good point for regional nomination? Do you have any thought on specific region to target (for code135112)? When I say target, I found out that there are some regions that require one to throw in ROI to get nomination even if one selected "any" as region he is open to live in.
5. Are there specific times that general ITA is drawn as compared to, say, Canada that dodraw every other month?
Anyone with answer to any of the questions is appreciated 👏
Congratulations on your positive result. Please ensure you stick to the date approved in your result letter (see image below) to avoid overclaiming points. 1. 190 usually has more invites but they are mostly issued to priority occupations applications both offshore and onshore in these fields -health, teaching and construction related as well as onshore applicants in other fields.
2. THis is for onshore applicants who studied a computer science related course in Australia. They can do professional year to claim extra points.
3.All the ways to increase points are listed in the anzscosearch page or immi website on the points calculator. Those are the only ways to increase points.
4. Sincerely, 65 is not a good score for 135112 or any ACS occupation but who knows, miracles do happen.
5. 189 draw has not happened in a long time. IT used to be every month. For state nomination, they usually work with the allocated quota. if it's a lot, they tend to do more nomination but if it's not much, they do less nominations and issue nomination on a need-basis. Also, July to December are usually a good time for nomination cos Australia FY starts every July.
Tomorrow28: Thanks for replying. If i understood you clearly my ielts expires June 19. So if by June 10 for example nsw invites me and i apply on June 15 does it mean I'm ineligible for nomination because by the 8weeks it takes to process my application and nominate me the ielts would have expired. Sorry if this is a dumb question.
Yes NSW will not even approve your nomination application. You should have a valid English test that still has at least 3 months before submitting an application
I have filled EOI NSW pathway 2 investment nsw for 491 visa. I realise that I expect to receive ita from nsw with 14day response time as well as ita from skillselect with 60day response time. Now my question is...what if l receive ITA from nsw and respond within the 14day period and while waiting for ITA from skillselect my ielts expires
A friend told that so long as it was valid when l applied for nsw nomination there shouldn't be any issues. I will like to confirm if this is the case.
Are you living in NSW? No. NSW can send you invite anytime, usually more than 14 days but you will have 14 days to apply. Thereafter, they can take up to 8 weeks to process your application. 60 days is for you to apply for visa after getting nomination. Looks like you are mixing up the timelines.
If your English expires before nomination which is ITA, you wont get a nomination from NSW and if you got one, your EOI would be invalid and would lead to visa refusal if you proceed. So ii'll suggest you prepare asap and write a new English test.
starbuck: Please i am eligible, how do I go about it SC4
IELTS Academic L8 S8 W7 R7 Then visit AITSL website to download the requirement for the occupation you want to choose. The occupation you choose should be determined by the age of students you taught during your Teaching practice. So if your TP was secondary school, you are to choose secondary school. If you are now teaching in any other section apart from secondary school, you will not be able to claim employment points from that.
I was just playing around with point calculator on the home affairs website. And to my surprise I found that you can be awarded 10 point for being single
Lol. I just want to ask like is this actually true or perhaps is me that don't understand what it's meant??
Cos I have read this thread and the part one from A-Z back then in 2020. And I don't quite think I saw anyone made mentioned of point for being single lol
yes, you get 10 points for being single. The other part is you cannot date nor get married until after you have landed in Australia.
Ask77: Hello experts in the house, great jobs you are doing here. Please, I need your advice regarding skill assessment with vetasses. I am professional journalist with about 15 years experience and I want to assess for Print Journalist (ANZSCO 212413), I have been been practicing journalism here in Nigeria over the past 15 years. However, my concern is about qualifications and how that may affect my assessment. I got my HND in 2010 (part-time) and based on the years of experience, I was able to do a direct Masters in Lasu (part-time) and finished 2022. What's my chance of getting positive assessment with these quifications? Will my years of experience before the Masters count? Thank you all as Iook forward to your responses.
you can assess however all experience prior to masters will not count. So experience point will be 0. Also, what is the masters course? That will determine if you are eligible or not
Trade test I, II, III, Apprenticeship/Training agreement, Apprenticeship/Training certificate, Apprenticeship/Training transcript/syllabus OR Diploma/HND in fabrication or welding related engineering course.
Then you will need documents to prove employment Self employment: CAC registration, business bank statement, receipts, invoices, tax Employee: Pension, salary bank statement, payslips, employment letter, tax statement
standfit007: hi tunlex01, You mentioned Unilorin as not a tier 1. This tier-ship has struck a cord for me. Can you share, at least for the purpose of this Aussie japa, the classification of Naija versifies?
Tier 1 - OAU, UI, Unilag and FUTA Tier 2 - Other tertiary institutions but if you have a 5 year course from tier 2, you can assess a level 1 occupation Some assessing bodies have other requirements pertaining to qualifications.
standfit007: Hi house. I need your thoughts for someone who is married and don’t intend to go with his family for a start and so may not be applying for visa for them. Could this be a thing? What do you advice?
It's a thing. You will need to include them as your non-migrating family members and you can always add them later after landing. But it's cheaper to add all family members at the same time, they dont have to travel with you. Traveling will be easy for them since they would have gotten their visa
michlins: Good evening everyone. This is my first time coming across this page. I'm a welder based here in Nigeria and I don't have the relevant certifications, what are my chances and odds of migrating legally to Australia.
Thanks
Unfortunately, if you dont have documents, there is no way you can prove you are a welder to TRA or the Department of Home Affairs
Asking on behalf of someone. Can someone study a course like Master of Fraud and Financial Crime or AML and compliance and still get PR after completion of studies?
debrightfuture1: I want to sincerely appreciate everyone for the amazing information being shared on this group. God bless you all. Pls, kindly advice me on this. I had my national diploma from a federal polytechnic in 2014 , where I studied statistics. Afterwards,
I I proceeded to University of Ilorin where I had my Bachelor degree in Statistics in 2018, But my transcript only covers 200level to 400 level, because I entered through direct entry. Will I be able to undergo the accessment under Vetassess since my Bachelor degree only covers three years. I'm going for PR as a statistician. Pls I need advice on this. I'm still within the age range of 25-32.
I have been working in a federal government organization as a data processing officer since 2015 after I obtain my national diploma but I only did conversion with my bachelor degree to the post of statistician in August 2021. The ANZSCO code for statistician is 224113.
I obtained my masters degree in Statistics from University October 2023 also. But I might not be able to use it for accessment since VETASSESS state that for a Statistician (Applicants must also have at least one year of highly relevant, post-qualification employment, at an appropriate skill level completed in the last five years).pls advice me if I can use my Bsc that I got through direct entry and how to go about it.
@tunlex01 and my other amazing boss .pls advice me.
standfit007: Hi Tunlex. I am wondering if the below is pacific to this occupation or general. For instance, ACS(Computer Society) stated two evidenc(s) require for employees assessment, that is, one from employer and one from employee such as payslips, bank statement, insurance/tax. They stressed that any other docs such as offer letter, reference letters and/or any other not stated as requisite will cause delay in responding. Could you share your thoughts?pls
N.B: the efing ACS is increasing assessment fee from 560 to 1450 from 28th March. With a caveat that one can expect response in 15days(as against current 8-10weeks), be assessed for 3 ansze codes. 560AUD is like 378USD=603,000 naira, so imagine what 1450AUD would be, so anyone thinking or planning on this should hurry up o lol; they extended the earlier planned switch from 13th March to 28th March…so 4days to go!
“ Documents for Employee Employment letter: Yes or No Payslips: Yes or No Bank statement showing salary: Yes or No Pension statement: Yes or No Personal Tax statement: Yes or No Can you get a reference letter? Yes or No Do you have these documents for all your employment episodes?”
You are right about ACS, it's not applicable to all assessing bodies but the Department of Home Affairs usually ask for them later too. The main reason why we ask for this information is to confirm that the prospective applicant meet the requirements before they spend their hard earned money. For example, if the person is paid by cash and wants to assess with ACS even if you have other documents, it's a no-no. The information request is just a guide

Hello sir, you cannot assess a level 1 occupation. Unilorin is a tier 2 university and as a result, any 4 year course is considered an Associate degree. So you cannot assess as a Statistician which is level 1. If you want to assess 224113, you need to have at least 1 year post MSc experience finished date and any previous experience will not count.
ChikelueIgba: Many thanks for the prompt response @tunlex01. Please regarding the shortage of Engineering Managers in the various states, are you suggesting that I may likely not get nomination. Please throw more light on skills shortages and how one can leverage them. Thanks again!
Shortage does not mean state will grant nomination. You can still assess for it and hope for the best.
