Thanks all for this wonderful platform. You guys rock, and God in his infinite mercies will grant our heart desires. Amen.

Please I have a Bachelor's degree in Elect/Elect Engineering, a Ph. D in Management and I have been working as a telecom engineer for over 15 years. And most recently as a Technical department head for over 5 years. I wish to apply for the Australia PR through The Engineer manager skill. Please could anyone advise me on the feasibility of getting assessed by IML and EA. Has anyone toed this path before, how rigorous is it? And what chances do I have? I found out that almost all states need Engineer Manager.

Please I am married with Children. And my wife is a practicing medical doctor in Nigeria, should she be the principal applicant? Both of us fall within the age bracket.

Many thanks in anticipation for guidance.
you can assess with either of them. Both require CDR, although they will only consider your experience mostly in the last 5 years since that's technically when you became an engineering manager. Visit their respective website to read their migration skills assessment (MSA) guide.
Shortage in state does not connote nomination.

My only concern now is that your degree is Mechanical Engineering and your 9 years experience is in electrical Engineer.

This implies that, if you choose Electrical Engineer, you will have to only assess your 9 years experience.

But if you choose Mechanical Engineer, you will have to only assess your degree as your 9 years experience doesn't align with the role of a Mechanical Engineer. Or is there a way you can align the role to fit Mechanical Engineer? Draw the attention of tunlex to this.

tunlex01 please kindly advise him on this on the right occupation he should choose.
He may give it a go assessing with EA as an Electrical engineer - it’s a 50-50 chance.
With Mechanical engineer, you won’t be able to claim experience point but with ELectrical, you may get something

Thanks EgBon
You will need at least a cert IV in Live Production and Technical services.
If you have at least 3 years apprenticeship training with trade test I, II and III, it may work.
But without a qualification in sound, don’t bother with TRA

Please one more question,
If the applicant has 3 years experience in the nominated occupation as far back as 10 years, while the remaining experience is in another occupation, can he claim for 3 years only at the point of EOI?
yes, if he assessed them with EA

Please someone should put me through. I am a pharmacist. Aside from migrating to Aus as a pharmacist, I heard I could migrate as a pharmacy technician but going through the VETASSES website I found that having employment as a pharmacist and working in that capacity will not return a positive assessment.

See the attached. Thank you
that's correct.

Please a friend has HND in Chemistry. I checked and saw that the body responsible for assessment is Vocational Education and Training Assess (VETASSESS) and in their website they mentioned BSc as a qualification for assessment. Does that mean HND grads cant apply?
NO HND cannot apply for a level 1 occupation except they have a masters degree and at least 12 months post masters.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for keeping this thread active. i have been following from part 1.

Quick question: I seem to have hit a road block. I have a degree from Covenant university where i studied HR. I also have about 8 years experience in that line. i want to submit an assessment with VETASSESS but i read somewhere in this thread that my school degree will be regarded as associate degree. All positions available for me to apply for 491 require BSC equivalent. What can i do?
I want to nominate Human Resources Advisor or Workplace Relations Advisor.

AGE: 25
QUALIFICATION: ??
EXPERIENCE:10-15(Depending on whether it is reduced)
STATE NOMINATION: 15
PTE: UNDONE

Kindly advice please... @bellong @mamajazz @Bminz @Tunlex @aussie4life @ Jamson and every other guru
CU is a tier 2 university and your occupation is a level 1 occupation; so it will be a negative assessment due to qualification not at the required level.

Good day All,

I have a B.A. in Literature in English from OAU, PGDE from NTI, wrote IELTS and got a score of LRWS-8.5, 8, 7, and 8.
I have all the documents ready for the assessment, except my PGDE certificate. I got a Notification of Higher Degree letter from Unilorin, since that's where my certificate will be issued from (NTI Affiliated).

Will this yield a positive outcome?

Please, anyone with a similar issue?
Please help a sister.
There is no one in similar situation that i know but it should work for you. Your first degree is a tier 1 and you have PGDE transcript + certificate.

Hello gurus in the house!

I will appreciate an explanation and further clarification as regards the skills assessment of teachers by AITSL, because I am stuck on my findings/research and do not know how else to proceed.

Firstly, I have two certificates in Business Education as a Secondary school teacher; NCE and B.Sc(Ed), with the latter from UNN, however, I have what I fear might be a loophole, as my B.Sc(Ed) which is a double honors certificate was undergone for a period of 3 years, which stemmed as a result of having a prior NCE certification, which was also studied for a period of 3 years.

Now, my questions:
•Will I be able to assess my qualifications for a positive response with AITSL, using my B.Sc(Ed) which was studied for 3 years, cos my transcript actually shows my years of study as 3 years as against 4? Coupled with the factors of AQF and the Tier 1 and 2 grading system, do I tend to stand a chance?

•Or, will I have to upload both the transcripts of my NCE and B.Sc(Ed), to make it up for the missing one year?

•Or, should I simply undergo a PGDE programme, to augment my B.Sc(Ed), and cover up for the loophole?

I haven't written the English proficiency test (IELTS), however I am willing to give it a shot and I am optimistic that I will scale through.

I also have over 3 years experience as a teacher, post-graduation.

If there's any one who's had an experience of this or know someone with a first-hand information as regards this matter, I will really appreciate your help and advice.

@tunlex01
@bellong
You won't be able to assess with AITSL. NCE does not meet the criteria neither does a 4 year Education degree from UNN meet the criteria. Either way, you are not eligible.
PGDE won't help also.

Your best option, explore student visa - Masters of teaching or try another country. If you are married and your partner has a skilled occupation/experience, then they might be the primary applicant

Hello house I have a Bachelors of Engineering 5 years from Uniport. And also have a Bachelor's of Honours in Education 2 years ( Equivalent to level 7 Australia) from UK with initial teachers training and 45 days of teaching practice. Will I get a positive outcome fro AITSL.

My bachelors from UK was supposed to be 3 years but I had 1 year recognition of prior learning.

Someone please help analyse my case.
Sincerely no one can tell you specifically if it will fly or not cos I haven't seen anyone with the exact same profile.
I will suggest you get your English score and put in an application to AITSL> Ensure you choose the Bachelor odf Education as your ITE in your application not the Engineering one. Also, you can write a letter of explanation indicating you went through RPL. It's likely going to fly because the two countries both operate similar education system.

Hello, please review my profile.

Age - 29
Degree - Accounting unilag and ACCA chartered
Experience as an accountant for 6yrs
Thinking of applying under 189
Hoping to meet the Ielts requirements soon
Also can I apply with my partner (planning to get married soon)

Is there any POF required and how long might the process take?
189 may be far fetched if you don’t are a high score. 491 may be available too.
Yes, you can add your partner if you are married. They can also add English test to your point.
Only Queensland require POf and the process can take between 9 months to 3 years depending on how lucky you are.

Good Evening
I just joined the thread and i have gone through the previous comments. Please kindly help assess my chances of getting to Australia via PR route based on this profile

Age: 27

Education: National Diploma and Higher National Diploma (2021) in welding from Petroleum Training Institute

Experience: 1year industrial experience with offer letter

English test score: Haven't written IELT yet but I planned to sit for it next month.
For welding with TRA, you need at least 3 years experience to get a positive assessment. Those 3 years must have verifiable documents like payslip, pension, bank statement, and tax to get a positive result. Industrial expeirence does not count in this regard.

So come back after 3 years expeirence and you will be a baller

I have over 5 years of proven experience in chemical plant operations with Anzsco code of 399211 while I have both bachelor and masters degree in chemical engineering with Anzsco code 233111. My years of work have been in operations and not process design which is mostly the job description of a chemical engineer.

Please advise what to do. I am confused as to which assessment to do.
399211 is not being nominated in any occupation list at the moment so that’s not going to work.
233111 - if you can skew your experience towards this, you can assess. If not, just assess your qualification only with EA. You won’t be able to claim points for experience if it’s not related. So that means you don’t get expeirence points but you will be able to nominate 233111, just get as many points as you can get
