Hello Emma, whats the highest return one can get on fixed income instruments like Bond and Treasury Bills at the moment? which trading house will accept around N5million at the moment?

Morning everyone,

Except for the Day traders on this board i want to advice value investors to avoid checking the markets every minute and seconds to avoid High blood pressure. Things are irrational these days and constant shocks to the financial markets will continue for a while.

Checking once a day to confirm your trade is probably fine but these per seconds Heeeee and Haaaaa as the market swing daily is unhealthy in my opinion. grin

Like Emmanuelewumi would advise if you know what you bought and why you bought it,You can sleep easy.

You will be begging me to take your GTB & Zenith sub N10, FBHN sub...N3, NSE patience is key!,I am done till further notice!
You still dont get it, Its when the Market is "Directionless" that people can make money. Many here are not desperate to sell anything what we play with are chicken change to what is kept in other class of assets. Oil is down and so what? will that make all of us to close our account with gtbank or Zenith?. Even if these guys dont make a dime in FY2020 have you forgotten what they have in reserve? Your caution don do.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Tvegas(m): 11:40am On Apr 21, 2020
Why are investors not paying attention to UCAP? at this rate this stock may return 25% via dividend payment pretty soon. The first quarter result isnt bad at all. Starting from middle of may Oil issue will begin to stabilise and by then we will begin to sell our holdings to awon "Cash is King Crew". grin

Aggresively picking up, UCAP,GTB,Averaging on Zenith right now. Praying for Zenith to touch N12, GTB N17.

I don't think what you wrote there is correct as described in this excerpt from investopedia, I know it is the American way but I am sure in Nigeria common shareholder's rights would not be too different.
Bros, Is this America? So what exactly will you advise the shareholders to do? Ok one of the things they can do is to obtain a garnishee order on the companies bank account to seize its funds and they can also seize its assets.

On the bank accounts seizure, no be money wey you find there you go seize? If they touch the company assets the Debenture holders may chase them away.

I stressed that "ordinary shares" part to remind investors here including myself that we are the biggest risk takers in this game so never sleep with your two eyes closed. Especially in a jungle like Nigeria where some officials of the Regulators can collude with crooked managers and watch investors defrauded.

I may not be versed in Stock trading but these are some of my basic training in accounting. I can list the disadvantages of Ordinary share ownership for you but lets not waste space. So i ask again what is suggested next line of action for the shareholders who i think form the "minority" ?

I am also open to learning.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Tvegas(m):
austinkenneth:
This is bullshit. The shareholders should at least insist of 50 kobo. This is pen robbery! I won't tender mine to anybody for 35 kobo.
The shares you bought are "Ordinary Shares" not Preference shares or Debenture(Bond) hence you have little or no say in this matter. We should study the weaknesses inherent in the assets we hold to have a balanced investment philosophy. I also recall how Stockwatch marketed this as the next best thing in those days.

If there is room to bargain higher or institute a court case shareholders should please do that but i doubt if it wont be a fruitless exercise. At the end investors should learn the lessons hidden here and move on.

Lol, its already selling at N2 now any further crash cant go beyond 0.20kobo. grin. Honestly some Managers should be in Jail in this country. This was a company that was raising funds from the public serially like Tommorrow no dey. The gist then was that they wanted to acquire Conoco Philips among other stories etc.

This stock was supposed to be the biggest thing that ever happened to NSE.Many water don pass under the bridge for this NSE. New entrants should really beware.

It Seems Zenith is the one dictating the direction of the banking stocks except a few exceptions for now. When it reverses others also reverse.

.*Updating.... grin

This market can be interesting,so where is the 50 million offer as at yesterday. Did the sellers changed their minds overnight?

Una go learn the hard way grin
Is it your Buying? Which earning season is over? what of companies that may likely pay interim dividend whose stock price may be influenced by a good 1st quarter result that will soon be released?

America has declared a 3 stage of resumption as at yesterday, by my calculations most universal lockdowns should stop in the next 3 weeks hence the demand for oil will come alive and brent should tick up. If people dont buy now when exactly should they buy?

Everyone is taking advantage of Covid to market their wares. The 2 people i know who invested in these agricultural schemes lost all their funds. Whoever remembered those days of Nospetco,Sefteg and the likes, the gullible ones will fall though.

Watch out for Guinness. The alcoholic beverage industry has shifted to spirits and related drinks. A field where Guinness is presently dominated. At the current price, I see a lot of promise.
The competition in that industry is crazy at the moment. For every Orijin you have Yoyo bitters, alomo etc. Compare that to the cement industry where you have just 4 or 5 players setting market price at will and without any threat from importation.

NB: Not a recommendation.

ZEE would be bigger than GT if this ultimately occure. My advice buy more of ZEE for keep. grin
Being bigger than GTB may not translate to greater efficiency and profitability, honestly i will prefer Zenith as it is right now. But what do i know? My holding is probably just 0.00000001%

I dey tell you bros. Cant even Express how how happy and grateful I am. Imagine averaged down on zenith from #24 to 12.45. Imagine that!! Got some other juicy stocks in my portfolio. Everything green. Oga Oracle, Oga OGG and others I cant mention, una thank you for carrying us along o. Please continue the good work. May God reward you accordingly
And see me beating myself up for buying huge ZenithBank at N13.50, i even sold some at N13 thinking i can enter again at N11. We truly cant time the market and we are all learning.

Thank God for ogas like you and Chief Oracle, some people 4 don make some bad-bad decisions based on over-analysis wey fit lead to paralysis grin grin grin
Funny enough Chibuking crossed my mind today,i supported his view initially but lost interest because he was overdoing things with his gloom analysis. I was shocked when a member here (cant remember the profile)called him out for mopping up Zenith quietly. grin

The lesson I learnt: In the multitude of words/write-ups,mistakes,self-casting etc is not found wanting.

OP the purpose of your thread seems lost and disjointed. For example why were you chanting incantations in your first post if youve repented from these dark ways?

How can you identify N30 million at a glance? Did you sit down and count the mints while the Jinn was sipping coke? grin

Saynotocultism has set a standard by exposing the works of darkness in Nigerian Confraternities by narrating his experience and warning people not to make thesame mistake. You need to finetune your writeup to give a balanced story.

Sorry if i didnt get you right, i am just stating few observations.

This guy is so funny. See the way you write with dots and you are advising someone to use paragraphs. Please lets end the arguements and focus on the main issue.

Meanwhile i will advise those who have stories to share to summarise what they have to say and include lessons learnt with strong warnings to Wannabes. Lets all take a cue from Saynotocultism. Even though writing skills differ, the guy was concise in his presentation and his stories do have clear logical ending. May God Bless everyone making effort to end this evil.
