I have been reading this thread of recent to learn about the best way to get an item bought in China cheaply and safely to Nigeria. Speedaf seems to be an option that people love here. The one problem I'm having is that I have seen something like Speedaf-NIPOST. I try to avoid the government institution as much as possible. I was wondering: isn't it allowed to simply select Speedaf as the shipping agent without having anything to do with NIPOST? Anyone? |

you said "It's not just about a larger portfolio or even the quality of it."..
so yes with the above comment you definitely suggested portfolio size and quality don't matter...
In domaining, quality matters more than size.
the first image below the person has over 140 domain names and has sold only 4 domains worth over $294,000..
the second image below the person has only 2 domain names and has sold only 1 domain name worth over $105,000..
the third image is mine and I have over 120 domain names and sold only 2 domains worth over $3,000..
it has nothing to do with grace... In domaining quality is very important.
Quietmover, what people read or hear on the surface is what they understand If a person has "to Understand his context, the exaggeration used, figures of speech used" in everything someone says then that person is saying nonsense and shouldn't be encouraged to keep saying nonsense... If it's still so hard to fully comprehend what I wrote there, I'll simply sign off on this matter by referring you or anyone that cares to synonyms for "just." Do you find anything like "only" there? If yes, fit it into that comment and see if makes better sense. Shalom PS: May I add that it's rude to regard other people's opinions as nonsense and tell them so. You could do better, if you want. |

I believe strongly in grace, but don't belittle hardwork and quality to elevate the place of grace. I'd assume you were the one that wrote the bold part above. If I'm right, how do you take a part as the summary of the whole? And did I any way suggest portfolio and quality count for nothing? You may want to re-read the original post again. Also the USD equivalent is always shown alongside the Naira so no need to change anything as seen below. What you is get the total order(Item + shipping fee if any) dollar rate and multiply with the exchange rate of the institution you would be using to make payments.
AliExpress uses the same Conversion which Google uses, which is a misrepresentation of our reality. Thanks. I guess you are using the app. Dollar wasn't shown at all in browser (Chrome). Everything was in Naira. |

The bank uses a different rate to convert which is slightly higher Please I need your opinion or anyone else's. I noticed that AliExpress prices are displayed in Naira. Years ago it used to be in USD. Do you have an idea of what exchange rate they are using? From your response, it appears it is lower than that of a bank. And is it possible to change the currency to USD on the website? Thanks in anticipation. |

It's being shown that your email was sent using Gmail, instead of the particular domain. Wow, that's an interesting one! Things always looked normal everytime I checked on phone. So leads might have been notified that I sent via Gmail? But then, I would assume that is still somewhat better than for them to see the typical or personal email address. |

Bro, I honestly don't have an idea of why he thought you'd ask for more money later. I have also come across people who'd ask if the price was on monthly basis. In hindsight now, I think I might have priced too low in those instances. If it's not too late, I'd only ask you to assure him that whatever price agreed is one-time. You may also chip in that they take complete possession and the domain will no longer be under your control once they paid for it. Good luck! |

Let me leave this here on Sav refund for those who might not know and may want to consider it:
You can only get refund for ONE domain or 10% of the domains you registered in a calendar month. Deleting more than this amount will lead to the permanent loss of both domain and money paid for it - found out the hard way.
It is important to take note of this because you get a refund by deleting the domain in focus, according to their website. The above condition is also stated there, but some people (like me) might somehow not understand it at once. |

fergusen: The way you agreed with the poster you quoted... And you've not really had the Squadhelp experience...
Standard listing domains are not promoted (except you pay for promotion). It's just the way I think. I have never tried submitting unregistered names for the reason stated. But then I might just explore the idea of starting to submit names that I have no interest in registering by myself. By the way, I didn't do any optimisation or pay for promotion for the domain that sold on Afternic. SH is just more or less an experimental tool for me right now. |

Do you have seller registered brandables on Squadhelp? As I wrote, I don't have a premium listing, but I do have standard listings there. I have decided to not use any more money to submit for review until I make a sale there (if God grants). SH isn't in my long-term plan. The single brandable I have sold (just recently) seems to further suggest I may not be wrong with that stance. The sale came from elsewhere despite pointing nameservers to SH and completing the description. |
Business › Re: What To Do To Make Money Online? by U1(m): 10:35am On Sep 13, 2021 |
meetme01: What we don't understand about domaining and brandables is that
You are not the only one searching for good names. Whether it's on watch list or not, if will be picked, it will be picked and registered. Have you not witnessed a situation whereby a name you thought about, written in your jotter was registered few days after you checked it was available. It shows, people think like you.
To decide if name is good is one's perogative which is kinda twisted.
Every SH owned name is great but ask yourself, can you manage the portfolio you currently have if you owned them?
Imagine,a portfolio of 300+ ain't easy to manage. To break even,no beans oo
You think if you registered that name, the owner will actually buy it from you or search for similar niche?
Lots of these people don't have the luxury of money to buy $1K+ names. They rather go for $9 and make it suitable for their purpose.
My advice - names you believe you can renew for 3yrs+ are those you should register. If you can't, no matter how you love the name, let SH own it. The bold portion is more than a coincidence. That is more likely to happen if you check domain name availability in the wrong places IMHO. The last sentence hits the bull's-eye. |
Business › Re: What To Do To Make Money Online? by U1(m): 10:30am On Sep 13, 2021 |
kenralph: On this squadhelp issue, I'd advice everyone against submitting names you have faith in as an unregistered domain to them.
Most of their so called review experts and in-house review teams are Indians, and they're hungry like us. Those guys engage in backdoor practice. They'll delay your submission until they're sure they've regged the exceptional ones before approving it for you to chase shadows.
If you don't have the fund to buy the name, keep it in your watchlist until money comes. You can then register and submit to them - if you like. Bless you! This hits the nail on the head I have never submitted an unregistered name to SH; don't even have a single listing in Premium. Maybe it's the Nigerian in me. I distrust such models. I'd rather risk the 7-10 bucks on a name I see value in and then observe for any hint of real value. |

tranxo: E shock me? Yes. But not for the reasons you stated.
My shock was because you made a fallacious statement of fact with this below..
If only you knew those who know less do better in many cases.
That you luckily hit the target while shooting in the dark does not mean you continue shooting in the dark....aimlessly, and without a defined system/strategy /process.
Your "fact" isn't a norm. Knowledge trumps ignorance any day, anytime.
Why do we frown at newbies that jump in here thinking they can get rich over night with Domaining? We rather refer them to start from page 1 so they can at least learn some basics and rudiments of the trade. I know there is beginner's luck, but how often does it occur.
Success often manifests in CONSISTENCY.
And yes, though knowledge gives us an edge over ignorance, it still amounts to nought when applied wrongly. This is the reason some "knowledgeable" folks also complain of lack of progress. In this case, they only need to reassess themselves or their strategies and try again.
But those without any meaningful strategy will find it hard to have consistent success. While I won't attempt to contradict anything you wrote, I'd like to sign off on this reality of life. I was in no way preaching mediocrity or that people shouldn't strive to be better. We start declining when we stop trying to be better. And mind you "many" is not "most." We could say 50-100 out of 1,000 is many but is it most? My point from the very beginning was that "how well" isn't just a factor of what you have learned or applied. Two people can do the same thing an exact way (with all other things held constant) and still get different results. Peace. |

That is why Ronaldo, Messi, etc have fans and followers in the field of soccer. Yes, you're correct, too.
