Behold my first $400+ and first "brandable" sale to the glory of God!

This sale is a confirmation of sort (to me) that I might eventually be better off with just Afternic and Dan. Seems SquadHelp has been stressing me unnecessarily all this time.

I pointed this domain and the majority of my remaining brandable attempts to SquadHelp, where I don't have a single name in the Premium section. They never gave me a second chance (to even accept) after I rejected the price for the only name they'd have accepted in the premium marketplace.

This sale is a massive morale booster for me for two reasons:

1. Sales have been hard to come by in the past few months. It's like village people finally caught up with me. The number of even "not interested" has dropped significantly.

2. I had decided to stop all registrations, renew some existing brandables (including this one sold) before impending hike in price, and just hope for the best. Renewals would cost me a lot of money and the move was feeling like a gamble because I hadn't sold a single brandable since I first tried my hand at it more than a year ago. To the glory of God, this sale is just enough to cover the renewals and a few new regs.

Keep hoping and praying for the best if you have been experiencing some drought of sorts like me. More, bigger sales to everyone!

Don't stress it.

Regardless of the name or email you use on your Dan account, your country's flag will be boldly displayed.

So why not use your correct details and have peace? People have been making millions with their real local details (name, address, e.t.c) both on Dan and emails with no issues.

In fact, I've seen situations where people make sales with their traditional names, while also selling more domains to the same buyer through the upselling method.

Alternatively, you can simply use your nickname or business name all through (profile name, outbound emails, e.t.c). This way, nothing is affected – having quality names is key.

The truth is, these whites mostly trust the ESCROW process once they develop interest and care less about where you originate from. Ask Bonsu, Duru, and a host of others who use their real names.

Importantly, make it a priority to be transparent in all your online dealings because it goes a long way in shaping your brand.

Don't forget to evaluate your options and stick to what works for you.

Look what I found at NameBio. The name eventually sold for almost 8k at DropCatch!

These years I haven't so much bothered using the watchlist feature until now. I only added the GreenBit name to see what would play out when I saw the stats. Talk about curiosity: what does that button over there do?

I finally saw "available" domains among the ones I added to watchlist today. Of course, the most impressive ones were caught by the bot as usual (including a certain GreenBit).

However, I thought I should share an observation I made while watching the list that a few people might not know.

If you can find a way to continuously check the availability of the domains on your list, use it! Some of the domains that don't show as available might have already dropped and this won't be reflected. I was able to register two of such by searching directly at the registrar when I didn't notice any changes - whether caught or available.

The names were still showing pending delete after I had registered them. And I think Sav isn't much helpful for backordering.

This confirms my suspicion about some domains that I noted days ago continued to show pending delete or Sedo. It didn't occur to me to check them at a registrar until much later when they had been registered.

I think the real name on dan can be changed. You know, to match the one you outbound with.

I don't know if it's going to affect things like payouts though.

Of course, I believe the name on Dan can be changed to match. There shouldn't be an issue if receiving payout with bitcoin or PayPal account, I guess.

But what about the country? I think that would be indicated in the invoice if I remember correctly.

However, as I already stated, I don't think this can stop some sales.

That's not what is in focus here.

You may choose to use any of such names as what is displayed on the landing page. But do you use such when doing outbound?

And forget whether something like "U1 Domains" is displayed on the lander; it's only a nickname if it's an individual seller. Your real name is what shows up on the invoice.

What if that real name doesn't match with the one you use in your emails? That's the point fergusen was trying to make, I guess.

You're there. I noticed that two in the first set of domains I added to watchlist were registered at Sav.

However, when I tried Sav yesterday I saw a message that they'd only attempt to catch domains on their pending delete list, although you're free to submit any other. The only one I submitted there was caught by the bully called DropCatch.

Probable reason why buyers don't pay after agreement (on Dan and some other Marketplace).

Many do outbound with names different from what they have on their account settings.

When you reach an agreement with a buyer and the buyer intends to pay, an invoice for payment is generated. This invoice contains you information (name and address) which you provided to the domain marketplace.

Now you outbounded as Christiano Ronaldo, but on the invoice, the buyer sees Lionel Messi.
That's enough to make some buyers change their minds.

I think I might not be wrong that many of those who sell regularly do not use their real names. They use Western names and get away with it.

Even if you use your real names, the Nigeria address factor might be a deal-breaker.

Everyday dot com domains start to drop after 7pm. A lot of names are caught as soon as they drop by domain investors who use websites that provide the service to get names immediately they drop..

Namejet dot com
Snapnames dot com. e.t.c

Prices vary amongst the sites to catch a name.

Next time once it's 7pm go to registrar you use to buy names then enter the name in domain search bar then search the name then click the add multiple domains option ( in some registrars you don't need to click add multiple option) then repeatedly click the search button until the domain button changes from "Taken" to "$9.99" then click buy now.

Make sure you close browser tabs if your internet is slow someone else might get the name..

Note:. If another person has used a catching service on that name then you can't get it unless you also use the catching service then you and other "catchers" will enter a bidding war or auction to see who wins.

Yeah, I knew about the drop-catching services. I have just never tried using them before now - 69 bucks no be here. Same with the ExpiredDomains watchlist. I simply just go for available dropped names.

Suddenly, it seems like there's no valuable dropped domains again (to me) since I tried this watchlist feature. All my shortlisted names are being caught. Na wa.

Your observations are right. The Domains you watchlist will display caught when it has been registered by another domainer. It will show pending Delete, sedi make offer if it has not been registered or if the time to drop has not reached yet.

It will show available when it has dropped and no one has seen it to register it. That you've never saw it bcom available b4 only mean one thing - your watchlist is a good pick and people are also targeting those names so they ended up buying it b4 you, so it displays as caught or registered.

Update: I later checked the registration time of those domains and I found that some were registered before the drop time shown by ExpiredDomains. That's strange to me.

People how does the Watchlist on Expired Domains work for "pending delete"? I just decided to try it after reading a tutorial by fergusen - usually go for expired domains.

The first time I checked the domains on the list around when ExpiredDomains usually starts dropping I saw two already showed "Caught Domains" and 2021 as year of registration. The rest were showing either "Pending delete" or "Sedo Make Offer" with their old dates.

The remaining ones later displayed "Caught Domains."

This makes me wonder: has anyone here ever seen a domain show as "Available" when viewing their watchlist only? I thought maybe I wasn't monitoring the right section. Anyone?

Such a shame. I think this guy probably has a link to Lagostaxiguy whom some old guys on the betting thread might know. I guess I must have been lucky if that's the case.

Actually, I waited for more than double the length of the duration they asked me to before trying again. Yet, I still got locked out for a longer period despite also doing a password reset.

I suspect this might have to do with my IP address (Glo), and your VPN suggestion seems to solidify that suspicion.

The rate at which some buyers back out after expressing interest these days is concerning.

I wonder if anyone has experienced what I am passing through with my Afternic account at the moment. I wish to know how it went.

I tried logging in yesterday with my correct details but I was locked out for about eight hours for trying multiple times. Yet, I tried just once.

Now, I reset my password today. I saw a message again that I have been locked out for multiple failed attempts after using my new password. This time the lockout is to last about 11 hours.

Anyone has an idea of what is going on, please? I have been communicating with support but nothing encouraging yet.

Some of us are not necessarily saying those other factors can be overlooked - they are typically indispensable. They are just not everything.

A person will never understand this if they have never experienced long spells of no sales despite having those other factors well covered.

Allandutch there is no rule per se, you can use mgt, Mgmt, or management. But always follow the rule: shorter and more precise a domain is, the higher your chances of selling it.

U1 when they say the service matters, you need to know how much your enduser charges for a service e.g you would not set a pet grooming domain for 799 imho it makes no sense to me since the service ranges from $5 to 100 depending on the activities to be performed on the pet.
However, I don't mind charging a lawyer, realtor, insurance broker 799 because dey can afford it as they charge high for their service, same goes for doctors, dentist e.t.c

Marketing Agencies are stingy marketers so most times you see sales of 100 to say 250, same goes to locksmith, plumbing, sign company e.t.c

So study your target market and price at the sweet spot that they wouldn't think twice before dey hit BIN.

Anybody that does that should please help. How do you price domains based on service pricing? Do you divide or multiply? I'm a little confused.

Have you tried streak? It has good mail tracking on web. I downloaded the app but I deleted it. I don't understand how the app is even supposed to work.

I used the desktop version in the past but not anymore. I found GMass somewhat easier to use because of follow-ups, although I use it less these days due to cost.

No, I didn't pay. Just look for the pin icon with a + sign at the bottom right of your screen when composing an email. Tap on it and select read receipt before sending.

But the question is whether the tracking is worthwhile given my earlier reported observation.

For a long time, I have read reviews and seen people on this thread making reference to Boomerang. So I decided to give the Android app a try finally to see if it'd get me better results.

However, I have yet to see what I have been missing in the tool. I thought I would use it for email tracking but that's off - I get multiple read notifications for emails that didn't even get delivered!

I think the app also lacks Rich Text Formatting as we have it in Gmail. I couldn't bold text if I wanted to.

Could someone please give me ideas on how to leverage on this app? I think I may be missing something. Thanks.
