gift01: What you are talking about is a local derby. El-clasico is a Spanish derby. Man Utd vs Liverpool is the North West derby in England. Rhine derby is in Germany. I won't argue with you. Maybe you should ask sporting guys Brotherly, you may as well describe Chelsea-West Brom as English derby then, just like most EPL matches. Hm, interesting. |

gift01: Oga what are you saying? If its not a derby then what is it? Ever heard of North West Derby before? Perhaps, you should go check your dictionary. Google is your friend, remember. Derbies are between teams in the same area in a country. |

What an anti-climax of a season this one is shaping to be, especially in the Nairaland leagues! Long stay at the top and near the top has proven costly. Made me take decisions that, at least, derailed my usual goal of the most recent seasons: FA Cup triumph. I was set up nicely for an opportunity of becoming the Arsenal of Nairaland by winning my third cup, having reached knockout stage with 4-5 weeks to spare. But loss of top spot after 1-2 bad weeks cause me to take decisions I'd ordinarily not have taken - sadly, I would not have fared much worse without those. The rest is history now. No FA Cup, no league win. Players like Mahrez, Morgan, Son, Lukaku, Willian, and Kane have disappointed - the Leicester players in particular. Make me wish they were in a position to be relegated. What an anti-climax! Oh, well. Just had to get this of my chest. |

Carmal90: Happy to get my first Bleep sale in domaining, but it is not achievable without some story
Late last year I saw a guy that sold nameparrot in king on namejet, I quickly start my research on how to register a name that include parrot as one of the keyword, luckily for me namecheap was about starting their $0.88 promo, fast forward I register a name designparrot n king and I was happy, I know for sure that name will sell for at least $69 if I lost it on namejet, but on this faithful day I was browsing through and i saw a guy from here that sold ripplechain in king, on seeing that name I began a search on what ripple and possibly how to register a name with ripple keyword, but mind you i have decided not to use my money to register domain name again till make a breakthrough, so I need to sell one of my names to purchase the newly found domain... I needed quick cash,so I threw my designparrot in king on auction here and I got a buyer for $12 or so, and the buyer helped me in registering this my newly sold name...
Domain name.. Ripplemax.cm Date Bought.... 31/12/2017 Registerer....godaddy Amount bought..... $11 Amount sold.... $500 Date sold... 27/04/2018 Where.... Namejet
Thanks Congrats, bro. I tap this kain blessing o. Wondering when I'll make a sale this high, let alone higher. Baba God do am for me, too. |

Cyynthialove: Damage control.
Buhari's unguarded utterances will surely lead him back to duara.
I have said this several times, ..Buhari's aides should stop him from saying things off head, otherwise he would keep embarrassing Nigerians like he always does. He should stick and read the verbatim his aides prepared for him on the paper. Once he tries to cross his boundary by saying things off head, then another national embarrassment becomes inevitable. He's already on his way to Daura. It's a matter of time. The man doesn't want to stop at having disappointed most of us; he wishes to continue at it from 2019. Nay, sire! chinoxstock: Anybody that votes Buhari is a goat! Anybody = any youth, I'd say, although the 'goat' part was rather harsh. Mr. President, Nigerian youths are uneducated, really? And whose fault would that be if it were true? But then, you may be talking about those from up there. |

Pentools: Good stuff...
For those resold bills what determines the rate, maybe using 182 and 364 days as case study respectively ... I'm afraid I can't tell authoritatively. But I assume the bank you are buying from plays a key role in the determination of rate for secondary market bills. I'd suggest you ask well-experienced folks on the treasury bills thread on here for better explanation. |
Investment › Re: Could Fixed Deposit Be The Answer To Secured N More Reliable Investment. by U1(m): 10:48am On Apr 07, 2018 |
Pentools: Thanks a lot, I would have embraced business since I have some laid down gainful business ideas n plans which is the project I talked about but for now I just need a monthly yield off the 500k no matter how small it is, but let it be a monthly inflow.
For Treasury bill, it would have been a perfect idea but the hindrance with it is the timing.
Can you break down the primary n secondary Tbills and how they work. Thanks! The two are basically the same. Main difference lies in the fact that primary bills are fresh issues by the Central Bank, while the secondary bills are resold bills. For example, when someone buys from the primary market and wishes to sell off before maturity, another person buying such bills will be doing so in the secondary market. For this reason, you can find many different tenors in the secondary market, including 70, 88, 122, or any other number of days. These are the remaining number of days before the maturity of such bills. But you can only get 91, 182 and 364 tenors for primary market bills. |
Investment › Re: Could Fixed Deposit Be The Answer To Secured N More Reliable Investment. by U1(m): 9:45pm On Apr 04, 2018 |
Op, I think it's more feasible expecting to make such returns by doing a business with the money. Treasury bills, which seem to be the best paying, safe investment, currently pays only about half of what you are aiming at, and that's per annum.
If there were investments that meet your criteria, many people, including I, would have rushed to it.
And by the way, primary market treasury bills starts at a tenor of just 91 days. You can even get shorter tenors in the secondary market. |

U1: Not true.
I decided to use my card on an ATM for the first time in over two years to (dis)prove the claim.
I withdrew N20,000 on an Access ATM and a total of $60.64 was deducted from my Payoneer balance. That worked out to 329.8/$. Nothing awesome about the rate at all.
PS: Sorry, the mister was right. I just understood that the N348 rate excluded charges. As a follow-up to the experience quoted, I decided to try both GTB and Zenith yesterday for comparison - the latter used to be my favourite before I stopped ATM withdrawals. Zenith deducted $64.65 and GTB $62.06 for the same amount. To Zenith's credit, I was warned beforehand that I'd be charged additional N1,400 for the transaction. I post this, hopefully, to help others in their choice of bank. |

Good gesture there, Naijacutee. God bless you. And I'm happy the OP appears genuine.
I know there are many other people who would love to help persons trying to start something productive - some even without charging interest. The problem is trust. Fraudulent people have ruined business for many genuine ones, I must say.
If we find persons who we feel are genuine, please let's try emulating Naijacutee when resources are available. We never know what difference we may be making in the world by such kind gestures. |
