I have always said that the worst mistake anybody will make is to allow yourself be influenced by outside sources. Libya can no longer lay claim to the benefits they enjoyed while under the leadership of Gaddafi.

Contentment is a very important virtue in life. Once you start to exhibit discontent, you give room to insinuations, suggestions and negative thoughts.

If they had any issues, they should have had it thrashed out within themselves, no opening themselves up to outsiders/aliens to wrest control for them.

wildrose21:
Bro, based on Matt. 19:9 (KJV).... which stated that the only ground for putting away one's wife is fornication, I don't think your assertion is totally true, because once one is married, one can only commit adultery; so even for adultery, he still can't divorce her and remarry. If he does remarry, he too becomes an adulterer. The young maidens of Israel weren't permitted to have s3x before marriage (fornication). I believe whoever did and then got married could be put away (remember Joseph wanted to put away Mary until he was warned of God). My opinion though. The bible could be difficult to interpret at times. Happy Sunday y'all
@ wildrose, you couldn't have said it better. It's almost like we were thinking the same thing.
Christianity Etc › Re: My Pastor Justified Taking Another Wife With Scripture, Is He Right? by Ubiero(f): 8:08am On Sep 06, 2015
Point of correction to y'all who are saying ADULTERY is the only option for divorce.

The only reason in the bible given by Jesus Christ for divorce is FORNICATION.

Please understand that fornication cannot be committed by a married person. And if a person is married, it therefore means that he cannot use that as an excuse to divorce his wife or her husband.

I'll give a practical example.
Mary the mother of Jesus got pregnant out of wedlock; this would mean that she committed fornication. At this point, Joseph had all the right to say
'I'll no longer marry MARY as she has commited fornication'

The difference here is that the Holy Spirit came to him and told him not to worry because the child in mary's womb was not as a result of fornication.

Peradventure, knowing that she was pregnant and marrying her anyway, he will have no right in the near future to divorce her for that very same reason of fornication.

You're married, you're married. For sake of saving lives in cases of abuse, please separate but know that you may not remarry until your spouse is dead.

So, my dear Op, your pastor appears to be reading the bible to suit his selfish lusts, I suggest you leave that church before you become poisoned by such teachings.
Travel › Re: Container Fell Down From Ojuelegba Bridge (Photos) by Ubiero(f): 9:12pm On Sep 02, 2015
Oooo, it's such a sorrowful sight. There was only 1 survivor. The container destroyed the passenger side of his car.

He narrowly escaped with his life. The guy is in shock.

O God! See the alhaji they brought out last. He was already folded like how do I even describe it.

This is a route I ply everyday because my office is just there on ojuelegba road.

My prayers are:
May the evil of the ember months not come near us and our families in Jesus name.

We will have no cause to weep and mourn for our loved ones in Jesus name.

Seriously, these trucks should just not be allowed to ply the roads during the day. They should have their transportation time. You should see the way they drive carelessly with no care for safety or human life.

Family › Re: Why Do Men Shy Away From Responsibilities Once They Notice Their Wife Has Money by Ubiero(f): 1:04pm On Feb 24, 2015
This topic couldn't hv come at a more appropriate time.

Just yesterday, got into a heated discussion with a friend. On this same issue.

The men would leave all responsibilities for their wives to handle. And when the wife says anything, they tend to take it the wrong way.
Whether or not the wife earns more, the man should be able to take care of his home. Then, the woman would do all other stuff without complaints.

But expecting her to do evrytin? Just wait, your respect will be found in d dustbin.

Infact, I have no respect for any man who will not take care of his home. He shld hv remained a bachelor. The bible says such a man is worse than an infidel.

Wht worsens d situation is that this issues are more prevalent among so-called christians.

What is Gospel in this Trashes posted by the OP? Listen to Inspirational songs frm Don Moen instead of dis ur hip-hip song.
You're just an hypocrite. You believe you and you alone know the right way to worship God.

Remember when the disciples came to meet Jesus, complaining that some other people were casting out demons in Jesus name, Jesus rebuked them, telling them that anyone who prays to God is justified before God.

How do you know these songs are trash?? Because the songs are in native languageshuh

Honestly, u tempt me, but I refuse to fall ...

God works with us in different ways.

He speaks to one using the firm fatherly voice, to another with the still small voice, to another with the message of love and yet to another with warnings of judgement.

The book of Revelation says the 24 angels have only one duty. That is to cry

HOLY HOLY IS THE LORD.

So before you spout your Trash, be careful to think.

Thank you

*Modified*

'Sides, Bro Paul the Apostle said,

I am become all things to all men to win them to Christ.

You cannot reach everyone with conservative methods. While I'm not saying Don Moen songs are not good, I'm simply saying don't underestimate the people these songs will reach.

You're not the Holy Spirit who will use the songs to touch their hearts. So, leave God to do His work and stop condemning songs.

A colleague said she didn't consider 'Twale by Flo' to make any sense but the truth is,

There is a sect of people who will understand the veracity of that song and attribute praises to God.
Christianity Etc › Re: The Bible Says The Sun Stood Still by Ubiero(f): 1:52pm On Dec 28, 2014
When you speak the truth and people say you're lying. Are you obligated to shout and make noises, 'That you're telling the truth'

You simply leave them to their own devices. As far as you're concerned, you've spoken the truth and owe them nothing whatsoever.

If you need a verification of the fact, I would urge you to take steps towards getting that verification. Why wait for others to make the verification for you.

If there was/is any verification, I'm almost certain you would have found a convincing counter argument.

And you really should stop your high horsing. You seem to be dancing to the sound of your voice. It's a pity.
Christianity Etc › Re: In The Bible The 'Lord' Is Satan! by Ubiero(f): 1:46pm On Dec 28, 2014
@ Op,

I see you're all for being controversial.

The 2 passages you quoted are 2 entirely different scenarios.

For the purpose of simplifying what the Bible means, it means that he allowed him to move with his own will, his own mind.

As a father, when you leave your son/daughter to their own devices especially when you know that a negative consequence could result from their actions, then it is easy to say the same about you.
Christianity Etc › Re: Incestuous Or Incestual Fantasies Are Allowed And Praised In The Gospel Of indecency by Ubiero(f): 1:38pm On Dec 28, 2014
@ op,

It is understandable that with your lack of knowledge, you cannot be reasoned with to understand the book of 'The Songs of Solomon'. Why were there no other verses where it allowed to commit incestous relationships?

Infact, if you do have a bible, you can check it out.
Leveticus 18 verse 6.
Scientifically, inbreeding has been considered to have grave consequences.

So why will you up and say that the Bible advocates Incestous relationships.

Family › Re: Under What Conditions Should A Christian (born Again) Divorce? by Ubiero(f): 10:59am On Nov 24, 2014
There is only one acceptable reason for divorce according to what Jesus said. And that is fornication.

Fornication is sex between two unmarried people.

Adultery on the other hand is sex between a married man and a married woman or unmarried woman.

Here you could say the man is an adulterer while the unmarried woman is a fornicator.

Since the only reason acceptable by God is Fornication. It therefore means that once you're married to that person, he cannot divorce for that same reason.

An example was when Mary the mother of Jesus was with child. The angel of God had to go and tell Joseph that he should go ahead and marry her because she was pure.

At this point, Joseph had the right to cancel the wedding but chose to go ahead with it.

*In the same vein, it goes to say that there should be transparency between intending couples. If the groom to be is not comfortable with the sexual partners his wife to be may have had, that is the only time he can decide not to marry her.

If he goes ahead with the marriage. He has no justification anymore to divorce her.

@Mzspread, I hv not been able to get ur handle on twitter.

I have said regarding the op's condition that the longer he delays, the more the deterioration. Some of which may be difficult to correct. Plus, the family members too may be bringing in so many suggestions that may also increase the delay.

Please Op, make up your mind. Be calm, strong. You will end in praise but money without getting proper treatment is similar to 'faith without works'.

If the money is available, try to commence some form of treatment.

Please, please, I repeat, please do not go to any herbalist. I found out last week sunday that someone I used to know went to a herbalist in Benin for treatment and died there. I am still filled with sorrow over his death because the proper treatment was available. I jst don't understand why he could not take advantage of it.

It is better to be with God than to die in the hands of the enemy.

Now that the issue of cash, though still lacking is, being resolved, I tink d op shld be advised to recommence treatment. Delay, at this point, could be dangerous.

With the way things are going currently, it is so hard to hang on.

Especially when it is a job in the private sector where you are at the mercies of the employers. Most people working for the government very rarely face the threat of loss of job and so are a bit relaxed.

Still, the points you raised are quite on point. That you were asked to leave your job doesn't make you less of a person. And if you are wise, you will carry along what you have learnt and shine brighter in a new place.
