Your buyers remorse for voting Buhari can suffocate a healthy man. Take it easy. Don’t be too hard on yourself.
Eriokanmi: Is the message not loud enough to the deaf and clear enough to the blind?
Let's see it this way....
Wouid you hire a liar as your manager to run the affairs of your company? Would you hire a reckless man as your manager? If I'm to describe myself in my resume, I'd state my name, my state of Origin ( Lagos),primary school, secondary school and institutions attended.
On Tinubu's Wikipedia page, he only stated that he had his primary education in osun state...where in Osun and in which town?
He claimed he's 70 years old whereas, alhaja his first wife died at 74 in 2018. Does he look 70 to an ordinary tot?
You want to be president but you bought the people's conscience with thousands of dollars...is he father Christmas who wouldn't recover his money in triple folds if he gets there?
Amazingly...amazingly...he's contesting to run under same party he once sugar-coated and sold to us in 2015. I'm one of the victims of the change agenda cos, not only did I carry buhari on top of my head because of lots of lies this man told us about buhari, i also canvassed votes for him. Today, how much is fuel, diesel, that of commodities? Building materials, etc?
Had security improved? What of the economy? How much is dollar today? Education nko? The last time I checked, students have been home for months. UK vasirities even issued circulars that Nigerian students aren't welcome anymore yet, their children are schooling abroad while ours are at home. Some of them have even died already due to the ongoing strike I know of Stephen Ajayi Adeola, the UI student who had been missing since March cos he went to do a menial job at lekki so he'd not be staying home idly.
Any Nigerian youth still supporting this party and their candidate needs to have his/brain checked. Something must be wrong somewhere.
You are right about the killings? But was that the first instance of killings in Nigeria?
richie240: Imagine where Nigeria would've been if some group of soldiers had not treacherously killed the military and political leaders of the north, west and Midwest while protecting ALL of theirs from d same bullets!
Somebody shd tell me where d 'equity, justice and fairplay' is bikonu?
Your statement is pregnant with all manner of takeaways. The same viewpoint was flown after the emergence of Buhari as winner in the 2015 Election. The term WAILING WAILER was coined for Ndigbo. Did the economic hardship and deprivation that came with Buhari’s epic misgovernance affect only Ndigbo? So who is really…really the MUGU?
Kdon2: They will cry when the time comes! Ibos are good in business but bad politicians
" I've always pondered as to why those efulefu majors refused to see tribalism in the 1960s. What is their concern if the western region was burning and Awo was imprisoned? Why couldn't they let it burn or let Ahmadu Bello deal with Awo the way he deemed fit?"
Totally agree with you. The coup plotters intention were to benefit the West and Awolowo who wear under political assualt from the feudal North. Yet when the conflict degenerated into war, the Yoruba turned around to support their hitherto mortal enemy, Caliphate North , to slaughter Ndigbo
alex101: The moral of this whole saga is to mind your own business and never go/come to the aid of those who aren't your tribe's men . Ndigbo should stop acting like they are more nigerian than others. I've always pondered as to why those efulefu majors refused to see tribalism in the 1960s. What is their concern if the western region was burning and Awo was imprisoned? Why couldn't they let it burn or let Ahmadu Bello deal with Awo the way he deemed fit?
Even the Ikemba knows this,,,,,that was why he didn't border trying to save Saro Wiwa's neck from Abacha's noose, inspite of the latter's attempt at reconciliation with Ikemba and Ndigbo in general.
Tour de force piece! Nigeria has finally happened to him.
Adonis86: Ike Ekweremadu is obviously a powerful man. Spending his 20th year in the Senate of which 8 were as Deputy Senate President.
He could have used the time to get Nigeria a world-class kidney hospital but no! He didn't need kidney treatment so it was his least bother.
Things happen and his own daughter needed kidney treatment. As it is with President Buhari and everyone who has held office in Nigeria, Ekweremadu shamelessly took his daughter to UK for treatment where he was going to be attended to by Nigerian nurses and doctors whom Ekweremadu and his gang of politicians chased away with total neglect of the health sector.
But Ekweremadu did not go with his daughter alone, he took along a boy who was suffering hardship and pains from a Nigeria system which, Ekweremadu helped to damage. Ekweremadu wanted to harvest this boy's kidney to save his own daughter. As fate will have it, tests performed on the boy showed his kidney was not a match for Ekweremadu's son.
Ekweremadu began to make arrangements to return the boy to Nigeria and obviously take another one to the UK. But the boy tasted and enjoyed the good life in the UK something Ekweremadu and his band of bad and failed leaders deprived him of in Nigeria. The boy saw electricity 24/7 (powered by gas from Nigeria), he did not need to start 'I better pass you generator' or he sleeps in darkness to the joy of mosquitoes. He saw how clean and beautiful the hospitals were different from the mortuaries will call hospitals in Nigeria and absolutely for free. He saw how efficient the metropolitan police were securing the neighbourhood and not the Nigerian police starved of funds by Ekweremadu and gang! The boy enjoyed rides on clean and efficient public transportation (buses, trams, light rail, underground tube, trains, boats etc) and not the okada, Keke and endless trekking in Nigeria. The boy was awed by the beautiful landscaped, trash free and green environment and not the filth he is used to in Nigeria. The boy saw food everywhere. He saw beautiful schools from nursery to reception to primary to secondary all the way to high school absolutely free. He saw that his dream of university education will be realised even if he has no money for fees and ASUU will not truncate his dream in the UK. The boy saw unemployed people paid benefits by the government. The boy saw, enjoyed and liked the UK better than Ekweremadu's Nigeria!
The boy decided he was not going back to Nigeria damaged by Ekweremadu and his gang. The boy ran to seek refuge from the metropolitan police. In Ekweremadu's Nigeria the police would have arrested the boy and dropped him in Kuje prison where for the next 10yrs he will still be on 'awaiting trial' roll. If the boy tried to talk he will be summarily executed and his body paraded as an armed robber gunned down by the 'gallant' police. Ekweremadu and his gang are above the law in a lawless Nigeria they have created.
Unfortunately for Ekweremadu, the UK is not Nigeria. He has exchanged his posh mansion in a highbrow neighbourhood in London for a police cell where he is being schooled in the act of rule of law something he is obviously lacking in his nearly 20yrs as a law maker and legal pundit.
Ekweremadu will have his day in court.
His victim will now enjoy life in the UK because it's easy to prove that if he returns to Nigeria Ekweremadu and his goons will go after him!
If Ekweremadu had done his bit to fix Nigeria, all this drama wouldn't have happened.
Ekweremadu and his likes who think they can do well when Nigeria is sick have just found out the bitter truth - no one will prosper better than Nigeria. If Nigeria fails, we fail with it. Let's understand that our fate is tied to Nigeria's fate. If we rise, we rise together and if we fail, we also fail together.
I agree with you. That’s why we are asking for restructuring so that Lagos State can control it resources and Alaigbo can also control its own resources.
kingthreat: Tinubu's Lagos is greater than the entire alaigbo
sreamsense: Majority of them are self-inflicted and avoidable war and troubles; but due to stubbornness, greediness and arrogance of many of your forefathers you brought needless destruction upon yourselves undermining your enemies. You read stories of all these attrocities and yet many of you never learnt anything from them which make Ipob/esn begin self-inflicted destruction, killings and violence into Alaigbo in the name of fighting for imaginary Biafra. For how long will you keep being bittered and angry?
Diplomacy and dialogue remain vital weapons to resolve issues. Learn from yorubas how they have used these tools to resolve different challenges that could have lead to war since independence and co-habit with their hosts peacefully. Boasting and fighting with your hosts should always be avoided to avoid needless war. Ipob/ESN kills, destroys and damage properties of Igbos more than destruction that comes from outside. Life is short, be happy, forgive, get rid of bitterness and move on with your life.
Why did you post the picture of Biafra kids suffering from the effect of economic and food blockade by Nigeria during the (Northern) Nigeria-Biafra War? What is the relevance? What point are you trying to make?
post=113966372: May God answer dem prayers oooo.
A picture speaks more than a thousand words. And 2 pictures?!
Nnamdi Kanu is the least problem of Nigeria. If ten percent of Igbo political elites voice out the marginalization and injustices post-Biafra Nigeria has meted out to Ndigbo, Kanu would not have found a listening audience in Ala-Igbo What have you done to fight the suffocation of Ndigbo in Nigeria?
EasternVoice: That the fool Nnamdi Kanu has been caught. It gave well meaning Ndi-Igbo great joy.
NB: If you want to be unfortunate this Sunday afternoon, quote me!
You must be a Yoruba man. The North did not cause the misfortune of Ndigbo because Biafra would have defeated North one on one. It is fools like SW that aligned with the North that won the war. Yoruba won the war for Northern Nigeria. Ojukwu that campaigned for Shagari was different from the Ojukwu that fought for Ndigbo as Military Governor of Eastern Region. The former was a private citizen while the latter was a public officer with power and authority.
Salewa95: Just like Ojuku of unblessed memory betrayed 3million deceased by campaigning for a hegemony that caused their misfortune few decades back. di The highest betrayal is licking the ass of the people that slaughtered millions of your people.
Here is Ojuku campaigning openly for Shagari in 1983 like a true slave!
Is Lagos no longer part of Nigeria? Or is Lagos a city in independent Yoruba nation called Oduduwa Republic?
Mandate2023: Another miscreants ipigs sported......ondo and lagos r still same south west that's If am from ondo as ur shrinking brain suggested
He should have relocated to onitsha or any developed whatever part of south east too and again I am very comfortable and I have no house abroad
Meanwhile there's nobody in alaigbo that tinubu is not better than yet u fools come here everyday to insult him....u don't seems to practice what u preach dumb head
Beginning from the deadwood in Aso rock and those supporting him, calling him Darling Daddy here and there despite his visible failures in every sector of the Economy of this great Nation.
Ddokie: What is the foundation of the agitation in the first instance? Marginalization. An average Igbo man feels so marginalized (for good reasons) that he prefers to be in his own country.
The Obi candidacy has become an avenue for Ndigbo to see if they can be properly integrated in the affairs of the country.
Depending on the outcome of the elections, Ndigbo will either fuse-in better into the country, or be almost totally cut off (in psyche) from Nigeria.
ScamHunter: Why won't it fade off? Will an Igbo man like Obi, Amaechi, Okowa or Ogbonnaya Onu be there and Igbo or former eastern Nigeria is marginalized? Ndigbo just saw in Obi, and the coming election, an opportunity to build a working country based on equity. You cannot tell a man from Calabar, Port Harcourt or Akwa Ibom that it is one Nigeria, yet you intentionally make sure that seaports in his locality must not work because you want to put Igbo at a disadvantage and you expect the Igbo not to agitate. If Obi wins, it's a win for Nigeria because it will enthrone merit instead of the mediocrity Nigeria has become known for for 50 years. The Biafrans have merely been silenced by the majority of people who see the possibility of a viable country with an Obi presidency. I doubt they'll be quieted if that venture fails and Nigeria enters another cycle of looting, cluelessness, and banditry as exemplified by PDP and APC.
Obi is not just a movement. He is hope for a solid foundation for the future. If the thieving class is perpetuated, I weep not for what their incompetence has already done, but what would befall the country. ISWAP is there on one hand, Fulani militia on the other, bandits are there and then IPOB agitation. All these are consequences of ineptitude of a crooked ruling class that the two crooked parties represent. How would such a country survive.
Its the same IPOB youths that just keep shouting his name up and down. He is not known in the North at all. No one knows him. He cannot get 25% of votes in any northern state. His party has no candidates in the North. They don't have any state chairmen, local government chairmen or even ward members.
No credible politician is associating with him. No one knows him in Ogun, Ondo, Ekiti, Osun and Oyo. He is little known in Edo and Delta. He couldn't even get a Northerner as placeholder. He had to use the only non-Igbo supporting him, who happens to be a discredited politician like Doyin Okupe.
No momentum anywhere. Everything is online and he would not get 2 million votes in the real election. He is just being supported by IPOB members who use cyber bullying as their tactic.
stainedanisus1: Asiwaju, the Lion of Bourdillon . This man carefully masterminded the defeat of a ruling party. That is why Meth addicts hated him like he's the architect of IPOD terrorism. He is so present almost on every news
EdoBoy90: Four key areas need urgent attention and I think that the next President of Federal Republic of Nigeria should focus on;
>Security >Electricity >Agriculture >Education & Health
Security: No where is safe anymore; church, mosque, farm, schools and gatherings. Therefore, this should be a top priority for any presidential candidate. Tell Nigerians the security mechanism you would like to put in place that would be better than what we have currently. What should be done differently.
With our current population of more than 200 million people and a projection of 400m people by 2050, no presidential candidate should have nothing less than 80,000MW of electricity Generation as a target with a subsequent increment plan. Nigeria has 209.5 trillion cubic feet of proven natural gas reserves as reported, hydro and sunlight to meet industrial demand. No electricity, economy collapses. Businesses can't function effectively. Relying on generators is not sustainable in a country with over 200m people.
Agriculture: Food, food and food for sustainable healthy life among Nigerians is very important. Food provides chemical energy/nutrient which enable one to grow and live healthy. Without food, people can't work or carry out daily activities. Currently, food in Nigeria is not sufficient. People are hungry. Farmers need to be safe in their farm. And security should be a top priority. Mechanized farming is key. There is arable land for agriculture. This should be harnessed effectively. Kaduna State alone can feed the whole country (Nigeria). Nigeria has 691234 sq. Km agricultural land in 2018, according to the World Bank Data.
Education: ASUU is on labour strike. What ASUU is demanding is less than N80bn. Quality education is key to sustainable development. Without education, forget the prosperity of any nation. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge said the Holy Scripture.
A healthy people is a healthy nation. The health sector needs a revamp. 7 World class hospitals should be built in the 6 Geopolitical Zones and FCT. While State Governors should build 3 world class hospitals in each senatorial zone at the state level. This can be achieved in less than 6 months in office. Subsequent plan for advancement should be implemented. Healthcare service should be made affordable to the least person in the society. A good society should be able to cater for the least.
I write to appeal to the next President to look into the above. Nigerians have suffered a lot. Good economy and governance are not expensive. People prosper more in a good economy.
2023 Electioneering campaign shouldn't be insults or abuses but how to make Nigeria great. Stop insulting others.

So why has Tinubu’s APC not delivered a restructured Nigeria almost 8 years in power?
LegendHero: He got the history in his previous administration and he is the ONLY presidential candidate that have demonstrated the zeal for restructuring in Nigeria.
Why do we need restructuring in Nigeria? We all agree it is based on the below angle:
--State Policing: Asiwaju is the only candidate that has consistently challenged the federal government on the need for a state police. He tried during his tenure to create state police from the good faction of OPC then but obasanjo frustrated him. He then went ahead to create RRS which he improved to the best police squad in Nigeria.
--Devolution of power to the local governments: Tinubu has done with with success in Lagos. He created 36 LCDAs to give power closer to the people. OBJ again tried to stop him which was why he seized lagos allocation. Yet, the LG still stand today with those LCDAs building projects and health center that other state governor cannot dare to do.
--Revenue independency: Do you know Tinubu was the first governor to challenge the FG on the need for states to hold their VAT? He took the FG to court during OBJ tenure and even proceeded to the supreme court. Many people thought Wike was the first person to do this VAT, but it was actually Tinubu that started the fight.
--Fiscal Policy: Before Tinubu, taxing in lagos used to be manual process where tax agents record taxes of business in the manual way and this allow companies to scam the governmrnt by not paying what is due. Tinubu was the first governor to fully digitize tax collection in Lagos through LIRS and expand the net such that he increased the revenue to over 700% percent in his 8 years as governor. Infact, the Federal government copied LIRS method to create their FIRS who till now are not as efficient as Lagos owned LIRS. That is intelligence, we need that in the FG.
And who loses if his campaign ends like big circus? The answer is you and l, and our unborn generation. PO is not desperate to rule Nigeria. He is already a self-made man. Nigeria needs him more and not vice-versa.
Iamgrey5: Sir, what is Obi's business in going to negotiate for power plant in another country when he could be building his Grass Roots support at home if he truly wanted to win the election?
>I can't support a obvious clown full of lies and deceit
>I can't support someone who kept foreign accounts secret while in public office
I am not supporting neither Tinubu nor Atiku but I can't support a clown just because I want to feel among.
And please stop guilt tripping the Yorubas by throwing nonsense ethnic coloration into your speech in support of Obi every now and then
Let everyone support who they want
By the time the election cycle is over, his campaign would have ended been a circus or a poor attempted at reality game like Big brother
And where did the man who took FG to court disappear to under the regime and (mis)governance of Buhari?
BowlingTall: Asiwaju of Nigeria should be paid royalties because he is the single source of revenue for all these Nigeria newspaper and blogs. The only governor that consistently challenged the federal powers in his era as governor. The man who took the FG to court and made sure he created LCDAs to make government closer to people which is what many states copied now. A forward thinker
"Awolowo advised that clown called Zik to allow insertion of Secession Clause in the 1956 constitution. Rather than support it, he opposed the proposal based on his warped philosophy of indivisibility and insolubility of Nigeria and he later went on to connive with the British to prevent the insertion"
How can Awo expect to allow insertion of secession clause in the 1956 constitution? Was Zik the colonial master in charge of the determining what was allowed and disallowed in the 1956 Constitution? Awo should have directed his plea to the secretary of the colonies who was in charge of the constitutional conference.
Second, the secession of Eastern Region did not happen under 1956 Constitution or 1963 Constitution or under any democratic constitution. It happened under a military dictatorship which had already suspended the constitution because a military regime is a treason under a democratic constitution so suspending the constitution after hijacking power is their first act of survival. So how would Awo secession clause, if it was ever inserted panned out under a military dictatorship which did not respect the provision of suspended constitution.
Third, Awo and not Zik fought for the indivisibility and indissolubility of Nigeria. Zik verbally canvassed for the indivisibility and indissolubility of Nigeria by not supporting Awo suggestion of insertion of secession clause. Awo on the other hand went to war and joined the North to fight a bloody civil war to keep Nigeria one. Awo killed millions of his fellow Nigerians to keep Nigeria one even though he earlier advocated for the right of secession.
And lastly, Zik did not connive with the British to prevent insertion of secession clause. The British made the decision independently and exclusively of Zik, Awo and Bello. And if Awo was dead serious about the inclusion of insertion clause into the constitution, he should have insisted on separate independence of Yoruba nation and Western Region rather than sharing same country with North and East without an escape route of secession in the event that the union did not work out. That he did not pursue this line of action and more tellingly fought against Eastern Nigeria's secession - a patent contradiction of his argument of inclusion of secession clause into the constitution - shows how unprincipled and untrustworthy Awo was.
Super1Star: When will the Osus that they are myopic in vision and action, they will be arguing.
A political structure was worked out to make every region autonomous and develop at her own pace. Just in one over night rash decision, lack of foresight, lack of deep thought of action and their heart desire to forcefully lord it over others, they cancelled the regional govt and introduced the Unitary System that their children are fighting tooth and nail to get out from.
Awolowo advised that clown called Zik to allow insertion of Secession Clause in the 1956 constitution. Rather than support it, he opposed the proposal based on his warped philosophy of indivisibility and insolubility of Nigeria and he later went on to connive with the British to prevent the insertion.
Just 10years later, they were the ones clamouring for the same secession, which their children are still clamouring for in 2017.
They never weigh the consequences of their actions before taking it. They act before thinking, think with their chest rather than their brain, acts with their emotion rather than their senses. Ugandan Developers and Cousins of Benjamin Netayanhu are the most myopic beings on planet earth
"The people you say blindly follow their leaders have the biggest economy in Nigeria"
What is the singular factor why Lagos have the biggest economy in Nigeria?
Difrent: Your leaders that you don't have blind trust in have they turned the east into Dubai?
You that blindly followed your leaders to vote a party for to the past 20 years ,have the party build the second niger bridge or rehabilitated the eastern railway network . The people you say blindly follow their leaders have the biggest economy in Nigeria
Most compelling and forceful clampdown on the false narrative than Ironsi destroyed Nigeria's federalism and imposed unitary system on Nigeria.
kingzizzy: It is debatable if secession clause would have made it into condtitution regardless of what Zk or Awo thought as it is a known fact that the British were against it
It would have been ideal if it had been a bloodless coup but the coup was not the direct reason why the war was fought. Even after the coup, counter coup and the pogroms that followed, there was still a good chance to avoid war at Aburi. Unfirtunately, the North with its insaitiable greed to control the economic snd political life Nigeria made war inevitable.
All over Africa in the 60's and 70's, there was hardly any country that didnt experience a military coup. Coups were quite fashionable at the time. Even if Nzeogwu and Ifeajuna had not conducted a coup, it was highly unlikely that Nigeria would have escaped a coup. I also say this because at the time, there was huge political turmoil at the time which breeds coup plotting.
Every Military decree is always removed when civilians return. Military rule its self, is always temporal, same as decree 34 or any other decree. Ironsi kept the 4 Regions he met. Had Gowon not abolished the 4 Regions and created 12 states, Nigeria would still have been a federation of 4 Regions whenever civialian rule returned.
By abolishing the Regions and creating states, Civilian rulers could only go with what they inherited. The removal of the Regions caused the unitary system to be perpetuated. It should also be noted that Decree 34 was removed at Aburi.
Please how did greed push Ojukwu to civil war? Please define greed. Between Ojukwu and Gowon, who was actually greedy?
Looking forward to your response
davodyguy: If greed didn't push ojuiku to war, then no one would ha é been starved. Before the war were people starved to death? After the war were people starved to death?
So, without one man starting the war, no one would have been starved
One of my arguments against having an Ibo President in this country is that its inevitable he will sorround himself with Ibos, but Ibos dont have it within them naturally to be good leaders and will soon bungle authority and power vested in the Presidency and make life intolerable for the whole country.
This article acknowledges that the Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo are not culturally compatible and have a fierce competition, so it advises putting us into different cages where we do not collide and blow things up. So they created regional government for each major tribe where we can run our society and people the way it fits us. It was working well before Independence, it continued to work fine after Independence but the back to back leadership of yanminri fvckd it up, first by Azikiwe in 1963, not satisfied, Ironsi demolished regionalism and made himself Supreme Commander over the zoo and put the different wild animals, previously caged in separate zones, into one arena for collision and fury. Here we are now....
