Even the so-called areas are not xpensive ghetto

GreyLaw:
But not everywhere is like that in Lagos. Humans live in Ikoyi, Victoria Island, Lekki Phase one, Alausa, Magodo, Banana Island, etc. Yes, there are slums in Lagos (a lot of slums) but there are still cool areas.

The government have robbed the people blind, but there are still cozy areas.
PoliticsRe: Peter Obi: The Difference Between A Movement And Party Campaign. by Uchek(m): 3:24am On Jun 14, 2022
True talk!

Gjrich:
PETER OBI: THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A MOVEMENT AND PARTY CAMPAIGN.

I have said this before and I will say it again and again.
Peter Obi is not running a campaign. He is leading a movement.
Let me tell you the difference in case you don't know.

1. Campaigns end as soon as the results of elections are announced. Movements continue thereafter.

2. Campaigns are driven by politicians while movements are driven by the people.

4. Campaigns are driven by interest while movements are driven by convictions

4. In Campaigns people follow a politician selfishly because they believe he/ she will win but in movements, the people follow selflessly because they believe the people will win.

5. In campaigns ,people follow a person while in a movement people follow ideology.

6. In campaigns politicians tell the people what they will do but in a movement the people know what the person they are following will do.

7. In a campaign, people who cast their vote believe they are doing a politician a favour but in a movement they know they are doing themselves a favour.

8. In a campaign, politicians build structures but in a movement the people build the structure and infact, everyone is a structure.

9. In campaigns we rely on politicians to convince us to get involved,we have people with apathy but in a movement people find motivation from within. Everyone is bold.

10. Campaigns come with a plan from day one but Movements don't. They are spontaneous. They build momentum that becomes the plan.

11. Campaigns are like T.V ads ,politicians pay to get people in but a movement is like a premiership match, the people pay to get in at their own expenses.

12. In a campaign people who oppose you or make a caricature of your campaign are usually confident but in a movement, people who oppose you or make caricature of the movement are scared of it.

PETER OBI IS A MOVEMENT. I AM PART OF THAT MOVEMENT. BE ALSO A PART OF THE MOVEMENT.
NOW IS THE TIME. STAND UP AND BE COUNTED .
PoliticsRe: Tribal Politics Cost Awolowo Nigerian Presidency by Uchek(m): 2:49pm On Jun 13, 2022
Interesting

kettykin:
If Awolowo gave 20 pounds to the igbos irrespective of the amount they had before in the banks ,if he banned importation of okirika and okporoko 2 items small time igbo traders deal on , if he sold all the cmpanies in nigeria to his people just immediately after the war , if he used hunger as a weapon of warfare even as an appointed vice president one wonders what he will do when he becomes n elected president .

i saw a post of somebody claiming Awolowo's party won Rivers and benue am not surprise by this claim from the claimant but i am surprised every body swallowed it hook line and sinker , the UPN did not go beyond Bendel in their 1979 elections .

I saw in Awolowo a very clever person who would ask Ahmadu Bello to join him in an alliance and the same time beckon on Zik even conceding the post of presidency . if not that zik was a smart person he would have made the same mistake ojukwu made ( when Awolowo told him that if East secceded that the west would also seccede not knowing that Awolowo had signed a pact with Gowon to become his Vice president)

"Forcing tribes to live together with no scope to determine their destiny is what causes ethnic hatred, not the other way around"

You are absolutely right. The 30-month (Northern) Nigeria-Biafra War which Awolowo actively participated and passionately prosecuted as the Federal Commissioner of Finance and Vice-Chairman Federal Executive Council is the zenith and encapsulation your statement above and more tellingly, an indictment of Awolowo war role.

Ibime:
@ Afam,

Why wouldn't they go to Awolowo when Awolowo supported their vision of autonomy and devolution?

Saro-Wiwa was a frequent visitor to Awo. Do you know Awolowo is quoted in the Ogoni bill of rights?

@ Dede1,

Thunder fire!  grin

@ meex,

people misread Awo's intentions and labelled him a tribalist. Awo recognised that all tribes have different goals and different levels of development and should be allowed a stake in their own affairs. Go and read the following writings from Awo:

(1) Path to Nigerian Freedom
(2) Thoughts on the Nigerian Constitution
(3) The People's Republic
(4) Strategy and Tactics of the People's Republic

Forcing tribes to live together with no scope to determine their destiny is what causes ethnic hatred, not the other way around.

I am suprised that the health status of tinubu is the only thing Nigerians are complaining about, his supporters keep saying tinubu single handedly built lagos grin grin.
Lagos has been developing before tinubu was born and got developed since late 1930s. Check pictures of Lagos in 1930, 1950, 1980 and 19990's. Who was tinubu then?. Lagos is the fifth largest economy in Africa aside Nigeria, south Africa, egypt, Tunisia..it was the capital of Nigeria for many years. All privately and publicly traded companies have headquarters in Lagos. Give a 20yrs old kid lagos state to govern, he might even do better than tinubu. There is nothing special that he did, the money that comes to Lagos state is alone is enough to make It better than cape town but it is still a slum. So what is the thrust of your post?

NaughtyBrainiac:
This is a wakeup call for all my Yoruba Brothers and Sisters. I am sure we all know the children of hate. They have started again with their hate and are trying to divide we yorubas on religious lines.

Unfortunately for them, we are more Educated, Smarter, Wiser, more Sophisticated and Civilised than them.

I laugh at their stupidity each time they mention yoruba muslim. Why on earth are they the ones always trying to say Yoruba Muslims and instigating hate!

They have forgotten that we yorubas are the tribe with the most religious tolerance in Nigeria.

In several Yoruba homes, you will see A muslim Husband and Christian wife.

A Christian Husband and a Muslim wife.

Younger brother could be a muslim and his younger sister a Christian.

Younger brother and his family go to his sister's house to felicitate with them during Christmas.

Younger sister and her family go to her brother's house to felicitate with them during Sallah.

What could be more admirable than such Tolerance, Love, rRespect for one another's faith and belief, the civilised and democratic style of "live and let's live". It is called being Liberal

If other regions were like Yorubas, do you think we will be seeing Muslims attacking Christians in the North or Christians attaching Muslims in the East?

These foolish people are now trying to divide us.
May God punish you all that attempt to divide us because even God himself is happy the way we Yorubas live in peace and harmony despite having different religious beliefs.

God bless the great people of the Yoruba land.
God bless Nigeria.

Did we also insult Yoruba people when the Oba of Lagos threatened to throw us into the lagoon if we voted PDP? People always find a reason to justify what is morally unjustifiable.

The Igbos are not the only ethnic group in Alaba. The Igbos are the major and dominant ethnic group in Alaba so anything that happens in Alaba will disproportionately affect them. And this attempt to stop them from collecting voters' card is exclusively targeted at Ndigbo - not the other ethnic groups in Alaba. Except you are saying that the perpetrators are Igbos stopping their kinsmen from collecting their voters' cards.

With regards to your comment: " That presidency, una no go smell am", my question is how has the presidency improved the economic conditions of those who have monopolized the office?
