Y'all welcome to my world,lol! Yesterday I was so frustrated I came on NL to search for anyone in my plight too,came across two post similar but on a different thread. I'm happy today there's a thread about this problem today.
As I'm typing,I've been disconected since Friday! I wrote to them at Marina that they shd come and disconect me because I cannot afford the steady rise in bills(we started off last year oct wit a bill of 3k and I was made to belive as a nepa staff,dat wld be d rate to be paying,my brother works wit them)and so 3k graduated to 4,5,6,7,8.9,10,11plus!
Two fans(jus got a 2nd one last month since last year )fridge,2lite bulbs,and one iron. Nothing more. The painful thing is we dnt hav a meter so I can't evn contest. Several times I went to d marketer to either cry over d crazy bill,or d uncredited payment,or even our phase tripping off. Each time I come back dejected. because dey dnt ansa me. Either one eediot will say bribe me recharge card mony,or lemme befriend u,bunch of assees!
Now last friday afta goin to Marina severally and writing letters,dey came and served me disconetion order. And said on no account must I join the main building,haba! So for dem,I went to bypass dem and went to write to Marina,dat its like taking dem to court,lol! That I insisted I dnt want lite again,so I shd remain in darkness or go and buy prepaid meter! The thing is,I don't evn hav dat money for prepaid now. And I said lemme join the main building so my bill can lessen,they said NO! Lol! Since I ask to be disconected I shdnt join anyone o,or else dey will disconect the whole compound. I've just left Marina today again afta going to tell dem I've been disconcetd o. I'm jus at d mercy of marketer hopng he can help me and also my landlord who has sudeenly started singing a diff tune shprtly afta he had promised me(people are terrible o,SMH)
I can't pay dat bill,its too much. Infact if I can jus get my fridge goin,so I can store cooked food and then charge fones,dats all! I'm sick and tired of nepa pple walai!

Funny enough,missbronze just spoke my mind. And since you said I'm entitled to my view and no hard feelings,I think you deliberately just looking to create a problem where there is none. Everyone on the thread are moving on fine,you came and want to turn it around. You have been given the liberty tto open a thread of urs,and ur supos to do ur best to drive trafic to it,cos u really can't force pple against their will.

Dis Is d dilema I'm also in and I live arnd Aguda. And then I wrote a letter to Marina,only for them to say I bypassed dem and went to the head office! Jus a letter for them to disconect me afta offsetting my bill so I can close the accoubt and be drafted back to the main house to ease the burden of me paying huge sums on nepa bills. And d next thing is I can't join any body. I hav to be in darkness,and who knows if dey will bring bill afta disconecting me? I'm so fustrated in fact its the frustration that led to my search,wether someone else is in my same predicament,and I saw ur post! I've been to orile and marina,nobody wants to really understand my plight. Nigeria nawa o. God will fight for His. So if prepaid will tak 6mnths I'll hav to be in darkness? Jus because dey dnt wnt me to join my compound and use light. Its well o

fellow Nairalanders, this matter don tire me oo . l wouldn't know who else is in the same predicament with me/ us in the area am living. NEPA /EKEDP has been reaping us off by their estimation bill. The worst is that this NEPA-EKEDP will cut off your light and still be bringing current billings for you. Does it mean they do not keep record and know that they have not been supplying light to the building/ flat. This is gross fraud because, they will tell you to pay the money which you did not use and also there's no meter to determine the energy consumed. We have asked them to give us the analogue they said no way. However we have paid for a prepaid meter for like 3-4 months now, it is yet to come. The annoying thing is that the marketer so called Celine and the likes of her staff-Yusuf, IK, etc will tell you pay more even when you have paid they said it is small in an estimated bill. The most funny thing is if they give you bill and you pay next month they will increase it and and tell you to pay - compulsory exortion. What is the difference between these people and our dear Nigerian police?.
Please any body that knows the appropriate office at EKEDP to lay my complaints because you find out that the bill is more than your house rent in a month. l live at Aguda area. l was given a bill of N19,850 for 2 bedroom flat in a month Upon that we dont have light regularly, also when there's fault in the transformer they will ask us to contribute money for the repay it mean while they collect N750 service charge every month. l have asked them to come and inspect the flat since i don't manufacture anything there.IKEDC is given prepaid meter free now in their zone/ area why wouldn't they give even when we have paid. Fellow Nigerians l need urgent intervention as l can no longer bear it.

This is the dilema I have been facing for sometime now. Ekedp is something else! And then you don't even know who to go to! Its sad

Thanks sis,will do as u say:reduce fone usage. Computer I hardly use. I've never really liked light much,always telling my siblings to switch them off. I prefer natural light sef,a abit easy on d eyes. Hope ur day went well?

Over the years I've come to learn dat in relationships (as with oda aspects of life) we attract who we are. In other words, the kind of ppl dat come into our lives are usually a reflection of the kind of person we are at dat moment.

Perhaps dis is a big reason why I haven't experienced dat one satisfying and soul enriching relationship yet. In one of my reflective moments, I looked back on some previous encounters and was surprised to discover a distinct pattern. To put it summarily, most of my ex's were d classic "happening babes" "ride-or-die bitches" and "party rider" types, many of whom were capable of winning me hands down in a beer guzzling contest! Lol...
I've also briefly dated some shy girl, introvert types...which I always ended up finding quite frustrating (just my personality, no disrespect to dem quiet sistas)
As for guys, I've had my fair share of outright back stabbers and opportunistic fair weather friends. Can't even sincerely say I've got one who deserves my absolute trust and loyalty ryt now.

But my most amazing discovery of all was when it dawned on me dat I was actually responsible for attracting these ppl into my life. They were simply a reflection of my thots, words and actions. I myself have always had dis "bahd guy" or "guy man" mentality too...and it showed in everytn I did. I'm not saying dat being a cool dude is not nice (of cos it is!), the real tragedy is not being conscious of the lasting effect our state of mind has on our reality. U see, I've always wanted a strong, responsible, high iq, and spiritually alert woman as my soul mate, but couldn't seem to ATTRACT one no matter how hard I tried. The other types I mentioned above were usually easier for me to get, WHY because I was just like dem...mindlessly enslaved to my weaknesses and lustful desires.

MAN KNOW THYSELF!! What an apt injunction from a revered pillar of humanity! The key I discover, is to become fully conscious of the way ur mind works, and endeavour to be RESPONSIBLE for the kind of output it produces (in terms of ur words, actions, and attitude) because dat is the YOU everyone else relates to...regardless of how u may really see urself on the innermost inside.

Pardon the rant y'all, just wanna speak my mind.

There is one corner insid dat computer village where dey sell accesories,hav forgoten d name of d street but its dat part were dey load mile 2 bus(shd be otigba) its on d left of dat street b4 u turn left to slot. Jus ask of anytin u need,u will be sure of getn good stuff there. Got dos"follow come" batteries. Dey will show u d different types. Anytin I need I go der. D 300 naira "M" ear piece I got I'm still grooving it. Even got a good charger for my fones,d guy who sold it recommended it and jus 400 naira,its working we'll. Only tin I'm not so sure of is power banks maybe because I hav phobia for dem but u can get it. Its a small corridor that will tak u to d place. I wish I can describe it more,cos uav to look out of for it or u will miss d entrance

This page should focus more on intellectual discussions. This will help people to blend in better and loosen up. The focus on romance and relationships talk serves as a hindrance to some. People in their 30s and above should have a lot of ideas about life to offer to each other and the younger generation. The same logic applies to the WhatsApp group where the focus is on people interested in hooking up.

There is a difference between trying to relate with someone and connect with someone. Focus on the latter (at least initially) will benefit more.

This is the same reason why the thread was moved to this section which took some by surprise.
