Problem with the Nigerian entertainment industry is that it is filled with misfits. That response is so childish and bit.chy. Maybe that girl was trying to be Like Nicki Minaj.

I honestly think entertainers and even wannabe entertainers should either know how to respond publicly to issues without insults, or hire PR people to speak for them without passion.

This response is so terrible that even without knowing the girl, I have formed a disdainful opinion of her.

Romance / Re: Don't Expect A Girl To Take You Serious If Your First Chat Is Anything Like This by ugojamali(m): 12:48am On Jan 09, 2015
Rules or no rules some women are naturally boring. .. Many women are. So even if you're the most interesting chat you'll get monosyllabic responses from them. Example. .

Once my Twitter account was tampered with and messages were sent to all my contacts from badoo inviting them to connect with me on badoo even though I have no profile there. Now I've only chatted privately with about three people on my Twitter so no familiarity. Of the responses I got
from the shameful surprising spam here goes:

I don't really use badoo.

Please who are you?

Why did you send that? I'm not on badoo.

Ok.

Yeah.

No.

Lol. I got badoo but don't often use it. It's not fun. We can chat here though.

Now when I got those responses from those people. .I politely informed most of them that it was a spam message and I was sorry they ever got it from my account and that I was not a badoo user. But the last one became my instant friend. Cos even though I was a stranger, she was warm and fun and that's the kind of person I could chat all day with and never get bored.

No matter what, a woman should not endure physical abuse in the name of marriage. Marriage is no more for better for worse. If your husband is Mike Tyson, walk away from the marriage. It makes no sense.

Before the koko of my story

With regards to information, I sometimes regard humans as being grouped into 3 categories
1) Knowledgeable
2) Catastrophic or stupid
3) Ignorant or gullible
Categories change based on the type of information that is being processed.

-The knowledgeable have a good idea of an issue but do not tend to be vocal
-The stupid are extremely vocal, they think they know,
but are primed full with emotions when reviewing issues
-The Ignorant do not know. They wait for information to be fed to them, then run with it.

So its like this ...
the knowledgeable walks past a crowd curiously gathered around a goat which they've never seen before.
He casually says "that na goat na" , before walking away.

The stupid, looks at the animal and says "na dragon be dis ooo. see im horn" .
When someone tells him that many harmless animals have horns
he says "but see the way this one they say 'mehn, mehn.'... na winch wen turn to animal be that na".

The ignorant just consumes the most emotionally appealing information from the catastrophic fella
and picks up tires to burn the goat.

..I dey come

What happened in Rwanda ll be a child play compare to what would happened if SS and SE are under the same roof. Ijaw, Edo, Itsekirris and Igbos under d same government.................that wld be suicidal to say d least

This post is laughable. Who would dare commit the genocide? The Igbo majority does not have time for violence unless provoked. The rest of the tribes are minority tribes who can't even unite amongst themselves to fight a common cause.

I simply see the minority tribes fighting themselves while the smarter Igbo tribe controls their resources. And if a few hardliners try to make the land ungovernable then the Igbo rulers will simply grant them amnesty and juicy contracts.

It's all simple maths. The few tough Ijaws and Itsekiris are more interested in their pockets than fighting the Igbos. So I ask again. .. Who will commit the genocide
Politics / Re: APC Insists It’ll Form Parallel Govt If Election Is Rigged by ugojamali(m): 4:39pm On Jan 06, 2015
As much as we all don't want rigging in our elections I do not agree with APC. If the election is alleged to be rigged, there are proper civil channels to address the issue. True some may say that the courts often seem powerless against some powers that be but forming a parallel government would cause more harm than good. .

A parallel government will ultimately lead to chaos, anarchy, a possible military coup and a very probable civil war.

Our leaders should be very careful of their utterances as Nigeria is hanging on a thin thread. Our actions during and after the elections will ultimately decide our future as a United nation.
Romance / Re: Sleeping With Your Wife Or Husband Is Like Sleeping With Your Sister Or Brother by ugojamali(m): 12:11am On Jan 05, 2015
I've seen a few married guys complain exactly like the OP.

They say. . They've lived with the same woman for years, know her totally, know all her curves, spots and blemishes; have had sex hundreds, if not thousands of times with them; done all the styles imaginable; know how she reacts during sex; seen her in her best and worst times; seen her bleeding; seen her pushing out kids;

All these for years. They say they get tired. They get bored. Passion dies. The blood stops racing as it used to.

I don't have that experience cos I've not lived with a woman. But people who have said it so I know where the op is headed.

The question is. . If it happens then what do you do? But it will definitely happen at some point in your marriage unless you don't live 365 days with your wife.

But then some ladies take pride in the attention so they form. Don't blame those ones though. They may not be privileged to get serious attention in real life so when they get it on Nairaland they feel like Queens. cheesy. A lady wants to be a princess afterall.
Romance / Re: Some Reasons Why Guys Should Stop Sending Nairaland Babes Pm. by ugojamali(m): 7:41am On Dec 27, 2014
Guys should really stop acting like girls and running off to open these kind of silly girly threads. You send a girl a pm. .. she doesn't reply. . Move on.

Fine. I understand your pride is wounded. But remember. . This is a forum. A girl can reject you anyhow because she doesn't know you or what your motives are. Don't take it to heart.

I have sent pms to only one woman here. Did she reply? No. Did I feel bad? Probably. But did it make me think she was too proud? Not at all. Actually it made me think she was smart and wise and I respected her more.

Like a few people said her, ask first before you send. But if you send and don't get a reply, do not take it personal and go all gung ho on the ladies. .

What makes a woman a potential wife material? Is it just the good sides? Gentle, humble, pretty? Bla Bla Bla? All boring. I'm sleeping already.

How about fun, crazy, passionate, troublesome in a playful way, wild and adventurous? Those are all lovely gals on that list but if their good sides were all they have, I'll pass and marry the worst gal on Nairaland.

But then there's Farano. I keep thinking there's a hell lot of passion behind those eyes.

I still maintain that it is very foolish to compare a world recognized hero to an African coupist.

Justify all you want. .Buhari will forever be remembered as the man who botched his nation's nascent democracy.

I have nothing against the man. I wouldn't be any sadder than I am if he won the presidential election next year. But comparing him to the leader of the Free French Republic makes you a very fooolish man. And you're even more foooolish for raining countless insults on me. I'll not insult you any further than I need to cos your wisdom (or lack of it) is there for all to see.

Think I get you clearly now. However, the sentence still seems harsh considering the nature of the theft.

I too agree with you on that. But then the law is the law. What criminals should do is to find ways to steal without arms. That way you beat the law at her game.

Aren't politicians wise? grin

You insult the memory of a hero, General Charles De Gaulle, by comparing him to a coup plotter General Muhamadu Buhari.

Charles De Gaulle fought for the liberation of his country. Buhari thwarted the Democratic process of his country.

Charles De Gaulle worked tirelessly to restore the economy of France. Buhari spent months punishing people using retrogressive decrees in the name of fighting corruption.

Charles De Gaulle United France. Buhari has divided this country along religious line. He told Muslims to only vote Muslims in 2003. He called for total sharia in Nigeria in 2001. He threatened that the dogs and baboons will be soaked in blood come 2015.

You are a permanent foool for daring to compare a hero of world War 2 to a villain of Nigerian politics.

for every count charge in law there is a corresponding sentence. When there is a multiplicity of charges then there will be a corresponding multiplicity of sentences to run either cumulatively or concurrently depending on the court's discretion. Conspiracy to commit a crime is a crime on its own. A crime is different from a conpiracy to commit a crime. A person may be convicted of one and not the other or both and attract seperate sentemces for each as the case is here.

according to the article the sentence for stealing was 3 yrs which is appropriate because stealing is a simple offence. The sentence of death was passed for a sepetate crime altogether. Do u see where the Op's topic is misleading? because they were not sentenced to death for stealing. If stealing was all they were charged for they wld hv only a 3 yr jail term hanging over their heads.

Totally right. While we may agree on sentiments that the sentence is harsh, but on the principles of law it is totally right and the judge is not a monster.

Infact the Robbers are the monsters.

wesley80:

You read this part of my post didn't you?

How exactly do you classify "conspiracy" seeing that they already got life for robbery?

Prosecutors usually charge people to court for multiple offenses even when only one offense is committed. That way they are hopeful of getting the maximum possible sentence for at least one or two of the charges.

In the case of these Robbers it was three: conspiracy to commit robbery, armed robbery and stealing.

Now both conspiracy to commit robbery and armed robbery carry the maximum sentence of death. Usually the judge would have handed two death sentences for both counts but since you can't kill a man twice, he handed a death sentence for one and a life sentence for the other. If there was no conspiracy charge, the judge would have still handed the death sentence for robbery.
