i think he's right if you come to the u.s you'd understand that the akatas(black americans) are lost between the western culture and their roots. They believe they are americans because they gained citizenship by birth which is fine but what's your definition of culture when you have nothing to show for it? the funniest thing is they have hatred for africans so much. I don't know if it's some gender stuff but the hatred is there
You don't get my point

There is nobody, or sub group without its distinct culture.

The black Americans have their distinct culture, the Hispanics have their own, and the whites have theirs too.

Culture is your way of life, and how can you say that a group has no way of life?

That is the dumb statement many Africans say, that a group have no culture undecided

Bro...don't get it twisted!....Buhari's statement made as much difference as if you add a barrel of water into the ocean. How many people ever did listen to what he had to say? How many people even know him?...try doing a test in your workplace... ask who is Buhari and I can guarantee you at least 70% will have no idea. Like you said earlier.... Africa is seen as a country but then again..... Nigeria is in a league of its own...there is Africa...and there is Nigeria.... negative Nigeria.... either a bunch of crooks ...always scheming to scam people's money...or.... as a guy... always trying to marry for papers and always having a wife and kids back home waiting. That has been and still is the perception of Nigerians abroad....nothing changed when Buhari said what he said. Tell people you are African.... they'll be pretty much cool with you. ... tell them you are Nigerian... and you'll see the difference. Nigerians...scammers.... all other Africans... hungry and starving....you will never hear of Nigerians as hungry and starving! That's the reality.
On Culture..... of all the groups. ..Whites have no Culture..none. The Akatas have been intentionally stripped of their culture during slavery...but still... have some left within. Do you (not personal) ever realized that of all the religions.... none... not one was founded by Whites? They have no Culture period.
In all... I do like how you are really questioning whether we are the ones that are promoting the negative image of ourselves....and how much NL is a platform for promoting self hatred.
What you wrote about culture is very very dumb.

How can you say a sub group does not have culture?
Do You even know what culture ishuh

Culture is way of life, and saying they have no culture is tantamount to saying that they are dead, because as long as you are alive, you must have a way of life, which is your culture.

Stop reasoning in such manner, it's wrong

Which truth?

That Africans like to sell their birth right for bones for hundreds of years or what?

All these exploiting they do with connivance with our idiot elite, why don't they do same in Middle eastern countries too? Like say Qatar, Saudi or Oman? or UAE?
BP was close to bring kicked out of Abu Dhabi because of a minor thing; that they would have gotten away with here.

A lot of scan foreigners do here is because we have Nigerians who benefit from it.
Look at the government agencies that should check standards? They are all compromised

It's a sad thing to see that in 21st century, Africans still reason this way

Look at the guiders at mmm; the proliferating of ponzi schemes, exponential increase in young boys nationwide dabbling into fraud, even the idiot on this forum that keeps posting "fixed matches" for sale?

What of the evil "visa agents" that we have, or the nicompoop that advertise that ne can upgrade jamb scores

What of the scammers that say that they do data reselling; or the scammer that says that he will get you redeployed to your state of choice, and then eat the money.
I will not go on and on, but I do not delude myself, scam is rampant in this country

Life is not always as straight as you just made it seem. Every society don't deserve the kind of leaders they have. Do you know about imposition and manipulation? Nigerians were great people before the Whites came and introduced some new concepts to us. I appreciate some of the good things they did but in the process they planted some really bad seeds. How they made sure they amalgamated NOrthern and Southern Nigeria despite knowing it will never work to how they made sure power went to the North despite knowing they were least qualified. How they caused division and planted corruption from the foundation of NIgeria. These seeds germinated into some unqualified people ruling over more educated and literate people which gave rise to hatred and animosity. Which later gave birth to crisis and corruption. corruption gave rise to people trying to form new method of adaptation. When the system is bad, humans will naturally try to formulate new ways to adapt. All the problem of NIgeria can be traced to the Europeans. Read the history of Bini and you will see how sadistic the Europeans are. or better still, that of Jaja of Opobo. All blames still lies on the Europeans. Our only fault is our weakness which I agree is a very big offense.

You are a very shallow thinker that looks at symptoms. But I'm not a straight like thinker like you. I look at root cause. Nothing happens for nothing. One thing leads to another. A typical African that blames his failure on another person.

yet the west is blamed for it

Go to America and you know the meaning Juvenile delinquency. GO to America and see how all of the have turn to nihilists, gays, transgenders, weirdos, suicidals and any evil thing you can think of. High majority of them are addicted to drugs. All the societal ills are very high in the socalled First World countries. You'll appreciate what you have when you see what others have turned into.

He is power hungry alright, but his reign has made Zimbabwe one of the most self sufficient country in Africa, despite all the embargoes, bad media and suppression by the west.
You are just following the western narrative. Zimbabweans do not need money, and this has made the state the most crime free oasis in Africa. What is there to steal? i was in Zimbabwe and I marvelled. Very simple life and the people very happy and communal. Real African paradise.

The west don't like him cos he kicked them in the arse off their lands , so they have been sabotaging him economically and funding oppositions against him.

Robert Mugabe is tough, Africas greatest Black president. He has always secured his power democratically .. If we had more leaders like him in Africa, Africa won't be getting raped in the arse by western corporations.

Well, most of the things he said is the truth, but the problem I have with this article is the generalisation. Several times I have been attacked on social media especially international news platform when I make comments. The next thing they will say is, "keep shut you fraudster from Nigeria" or "your country is filled with corrupt politicians". Most of these comments are disheartening but it doesn't weigh me down.
Nigerians both home and abroad should represent the country well. Nigerians should stop worshiping money and wealthy people.

This is awkward... embarassed

An ignorant racist writes nonsense and some Nigerians are accepting it as gospel truth.

While we accept that Nigeria is a country bedevilled by corruption, this kind of generalisation has rendered the article nonsensical. How can you say 'every Nigerian is a scammer'? The most notorious scammers in history are Americans, Europeans and Asians. Every crook hiding in cyberspace can claim to be Nigerian because we already have a bad rep.

I dismissed the entire article when the silly writer inferred that Nairobi is in West Africa. I cannot take the thoughts of such an ignorant person seriously, whether black or white.

As for the Emmanuel who commented on the blog, he evidently belongs to that class of Nigerians in Diaspora who display their rock bottom self esteem and inferiority complex by being more American than the Americans.
