Mind you nowhere in the world is true federalism or democracy practiced it is based on how society interprets what is written. You even have Donald Trump complaining about the American system. We have a local government authority, the governors of the states do not respect their autonomy is that the fault of the federal government? To the best of my knowledge no local government elections has been held in Anambra since 99 which Hausa man should we hold responsible for that?we needed no more than 12 states in Nigeria. The military created all these states to please politicians and the states were not created to be productive but to be beggars depending on oil money from the center for existence that is why after a state has basic"ly collected free monies from the center for 16 years they have no savings and can't pay their own state workers,so where is the money the states generate has anyone stopped the states from looking for investors to invest in their repective states, does Lagos beg people to come and invest in Lagos? Who stopped the BRACED states together as a union or individually from investing in the petrol- chemical sector and building refineries to complement the existing ones?they are waiting for the fedeal government to do everything, lazy children. What happened to all the allocation given to the south east since 1999 from Abuja na hausa man make them no diversify their region with the money or how much was sent from the south east to the national cake in Abuja for sharing? Don't mind them agitators getting free money and still complaining. The big country of Nigeria 180 million you couldn't prosper is it when they break it into smaller regions then you think it will be all bliss, who cheated the ibos?their own brothers the kalus, the ojukwus, the Ubas, the nzeribes, inwayanwus, ekweremadu, general ike nwachukwu, the ezes, the anyims, emeka offor and too many to mention. You know what they say you don't know what you have until you lose it.
You have spoken very well......

In my home state, criminals hold sway, but this mumu ipob people are too blind to see it, they will not blame them, but will be blaming imaginary enemies.

Not all Igbo people are in support of this madness.
Inasmuch as I think Buhari's head is a basketcase, he will soon vacate aso rock,

That is not enough reason to scatter the country.

My brother...dragging middle belt is wrong by the IPOd agitators.. Yes..but calling their demand stupid is stupidity on ur own part..

I am not and will never support Biafra..yes..even in my dream...I will repeat it...but I see reason in their quest for a country of their own... I understand..

My brother.. Una hatred for Biafra is foolishness.. They must not drag anyone into it.. The issue is...it is a choice...the people in those regions will decide if they are interested or not. I read ojukwu did that too...he first of all asked anyone who want to join Tue Nigerian led government is free to do so... And I heard some igbos joined freely.. But saying their demand is stupidity means u are stupid too..

Why? Becus there was nothing like Nigeria ever.. The British created this country becus they wanted to save cost and oppress us.. And they left the country like that...look at us today .Nigeria is nothing to be proud of and u know it.. U know it deep down but u may deny it becus u may think claiming that Nigeria is working means u are against Biafra.. I don't want Biafra but I respect and listen to those who agitate for it.

But I still don't like the present structure of Nigeria.. It is meaningless and not working.. Hey guys...may be u are okay in Nigeria but millions are not.. No food, no house, no electricity, no national development...northerners are favoured in federal establishment more than other regions wit the excuse of educationally disadvantaged areas...u know all these..

I am not a hungry Nigerian...I AK educated...and I lice fine but I weep becus we are being cheated by this structure of Nigeria.. Is working against the masses.. Only if u don't av a heart that u will be proud of Nigeria...

Have u gone to hospital to see how Nigerians are dying becus of simple issues that couldn't be solved? Many are out of school becus of no money while countries without wealth like Nigeria give educational grants to citizens.. I used federal roads few days back and I wept...we can't fly to all places..we are being cheated in Nigeria by Nigerians.. I want a better structure not Biafra but I can't call them stupid becus wat they are doing is understandable..

Let imagine Nigeria has really made progress since the civil war, I'm sure...no one would av been talking about Biafra.. My peace bro.
You have raised good points, but how does disintegration solve all what you raised?
The problem with Africa is that we are too greedy.

South Sudan left Sudan now the greed of two men have torn it apart.

Eritrea left Ethopia and where are they? huh

The root cause of our misfortune has to be addressed first even before you talk of "disintegration"

I've come to realized that there is a big distinction between your own kind of Igbo and those miscreants masquerading as IPOB members that bring insults to the Igbo race.
This is not about Lagos or not, it's about common sense.

And besides, that "few" you wrote there should be MANY.
Igbo people who are educated are not "few"

I see 50 kobo. Kia I miss growing up in the 90s. 90s were the most fun yrs to grow up in Nigeria...Nigeria was pure, natural, organic, friendly, crime was low, tribalism was at its lowest largely because the wounds of the civil war have scabbed from 70s thru 80s. Lots of fun activities for kids then. I could use 50 kobo to buy a handful of of sweets and candies.
What then reopened the wounds again? huh

That is because the voter turnout was very high there.

Of course they wont be in support. And if Atiku runs again for Presidency and makes decentralisation his mantra, the Northern Oligarchy will label him a 'traitor of the North' and that will be the end of his political career. The only reason Atiku can talk about decentralisation at this point is because he is not running for any office
And is it the "northern oligarchy" who determines who becomes president singlehandedly?

@Musicwriter, I think omonnakoda has a point....

Your "theory" no doubt has examples, but it is not 100% fool proof......

Ireland is a developer country, yet they have practically lost their language (Gaelic or so)

You have to agree with me that indeed, there are many other factors that contribute to (un) development than just the language issue...

Don't you think so?

Why are you so particular about Lagos loosing it's economy? It seems to give you some delight which I find strange.

I hope this is not a result of envy.

What's the big deal with Lagos that you are even still wishing it to go down economically? Are all the roads motorable? Is there superb housing and transportation? Is there good housing and stable electricity? Is there no poverty, lack and anguish in Lagos just like other states?

It's only in Africa people living in poverty and struggle still envy themselves and try to bring each other down.

Go to the US and see successful states! That the economy of one is on the rise does not bring down the economy of the other.

The success of US is as a result of the conglomeration of highly successful and viable states.

That Alabama/Colorado/Indiana hopes to rise to be more viable economically does not mean they should be hoping for the downfall of California/New York/Texas.

You need to change your mentality. That the economy of Rivers, Delta, Akwa Ibom, Cross River blossoms massively will not mean the economy of Lagos and Kano will go down.

Infact it's a plus to the country if we have so many states with blossoming economy.
Thank you very much for your comment.
I really wonder what id wrong with Africans, and their way of reasoning.....

The development of the East can NEVER ruin Lagos in any way, because like it or hate it, Lagos is still the most viable market in Nigeria, and Igbo people are not the only ones here......
