Good day good people on this platform! I’d like to ask how is the best way to pay the CAD100 visa fee and CAD85 biometrics charges?

Will both be paid together on the visa application website or the 85 on VFS?

Plenty! In fact I’m impressed! There’s plenty of people struggling but believe me there are people at that age range doing well!

The embassy randomly cancels appointments,it was done last month or so! Probably some issue with their website! Don’t know!

Call or message them through the website! Explain that she traveled from another state to Abuja! She might get lucky with a new ‘emergency appointment’

Usually, at her interview tomorrow,she will be told her name is not on the list and given some kind of card to call the number on it!

So get to calling and emailing!

Please guys I need help oo, I dont understand what just happened. My mum's interview date was booked for 22nd April(tomorrow) since early January and I just logged into the website out of curiosity for re-confirmation only to see "cancelled" under status and it was also written that there's no current appointment.

What could have happened? I dont want to believe this is the handiwork of these agents, like seriously? And my mum travelled yesterday all the way from Lagos to Abuja for this interview only for me to see this  .

Am going crazy right now honestly, where do I go from here? I can't even tell her this cos the interview is for my brother's wedding coming up on July and the earliest date is 2022.

Please what do I do? She has the appointment confirmation page with her and I intend for her to still go ahead tomorrow. I need HELP please

Don’t make excuses for these people! Adults can travel and make arrangements for their kids to be looked after!

Not taking children on vacation is not an excuse to deny a visa application,especially for someone who haven’t miss-used a previously approved visa! These people just do what they want! Wasting people’s time and fees!

It’s true! There are agents out there that can get you an earlier interview dates! No arrangement with any insider at the embassy,I think they just know the specific time/days the US embassy puts up these dates on their site!

I can personally confirm this! They charge around NGN40-50k per person! Go for the Agents with office addresses,not the nylon bag road side agents!

Check out this interview testament from a student that had ben previously denied a visa but went ahead to attend remotely. He was ultimately successful:
Me: I would be going to continue by undergraduate degree in biology at Edward Waters college in Florida. I started taking classes for the fall semester in Nigeria because of the pandemic and ended with a 4.0 GPA, I have my result with me.
V.O: wow, 4.0, that's great. (Then, Takes a look at my I-20), oh I can see you have a full ride, that's great.

Getting a student visa has always been relatively more difficult from Nigeria because of the high level of japa tendencies of our citizens. Adding a pandemic to the mix has only compounded issues. You cannot deny the fact that it is even more difficult with the pandemic. My point is that even when it is clear that conditions are not ideal and the likelihood of being denied is even higher, people are still trying their luck. You have to be smart to succeed. The people that I know that started the online option have the backing of their schools which have already made representation to the State department so that after their first year, they will easily be granted a visa. There are options out there. You will only look desperate if you try to push through now. Level of denial is currently high. Most schools are operating remotely even when on campus so what is the benefit of going there in person?
Even visiting friends and family is a long shot and trying your luck. How can you justify a vacation when you need to quarantine for 10 days upon entry? The official policy is that only essential travel is encouraged. The only people guaranteed entry are citizens and permanent residents and they are subject to testing and quarantine.

Why would you be discouraged when presented with information that can help you prepare well unless you have ulterior motives? We all know the situation on the ground now. There are serious students who were not deterred and have started their first year in American universities remotely from Nigeria. Yes, they are attending classes online from Nigeria due to the Covid situation. When covid is over, they will go and apply for their student visa and attend in person. Do you not think these people stand a better chance than those who want to go "try their luck" during the pandemic?

This was before! People have been getting their student visas and traveling to the US for the past few months! And the embassy has started attending to B1/B2 visas,though limited but it will get better and more interviews will be done!

And ofcos,These days,you stand a better chance if you’re visiting friends,families etc! The world has to move on and that’s why they’re slowly opening dates for visiting visas!

Like iyatrustee said i think you exceeded the monthly limit CBN allows on Nigerian cards per month! Get another person to help you with their GTB card or use the Paga option!

Ideally account balance doesn't really explain someone's economic status or situation as the balance might not be truly available to the individual. Rather employment status, asset etc taken holistically with the account statement might.

I have gotten a UK tourist visa with less than N500,000 account balance. I feel one can always attach their account statement but it's not compulsory for sponsored trips. Except of course the sponsor had transferred the funds for the trip into your account i.e 1. You don't want to attach the sponsors account statement showing the line item debit/ transfer.

The number one factor that will always determine if you qualify for a ‘visiting visa’ would be your ‘ties’ who you are,whats attached to you,what would bring you back home etc (That is why the United States don’t usually check bank statements for visiting visas) then your money! If you can afford it and if the money is available for your use!

I know full housewives who got their UK visas without a penny in their account,why? Husband is sponsoring and they got kids to return to after their visits!

By the way,The UK visa you got with less than 500K in your account,what year was that pls?

The recent trend is that they send refusal emails to unapproved applications! So if you didn’t receive such email and just dispatched email from tls,there’s a 95% chance that your visa has been approved!

Depends on where you are in Nigeria but you should get your passport from DHL latest by Wed!

@godsblessings,If your statement printing date is Sep 14,statement uploading date is 22nd Sep and the above note is your refusal note! Then search google for their emails and phone numbers and explain yourself to them!

If it’s not,pls give more full details so the good folks on here can advice properly!

Nothing in the refusal note talked about the period between when he printed and when he uploaded the statement. To butress this, my statement was printed september 24th, i used to apply for my daughter on the 29th and my sons on the 6th of October. All 3visa's are out.

We shld ask the OP if he has money logdement in the account. Me thinks it was typographical errors and some words/sentences are missing.

It breaks my heart when you guys make excuses for the ECO’s and makes it seems like all faults should be from applicants! Not always true!

From what was written in that refusal letter above,statement was printed Sep 14th,he wasn’t able to upload due to payment issue until 22nd Sep!

From what was written,Eco complained about statement not being recent,from your personal experience of uploading a statement on 6th Oct and you printed this uploaded statement on 24 Sep,Has this applicant done anything wrong?

As it was stated that my current financial situation was not stated because the account was printed on 14th Sept, but was able to submitted online ontill 22nd Sept ,2020 cos of inability to make the payment until I was able to use paga . Pls could this be the cause?

Don’t reapply! Go for administrative review first or lodge a complaint explaining why it took 8 days for you to submit your bank statement from the day you printed your statement! Tell the whole paga payment story!

Pls be assertive in your words with them because the excuse for your refusal is very flimsy!

Don't do that, its fraudulent act, you can't prepare your own payslip when you are running one man/woman business, that is scoring an own goal and self-deceiving.

The money your mum makes after expenses is her profit and not salary. She can keep record of her purchases, sales and profits. at the end of every months or weeks she move her profit from business account to savings and present these two accounts during her visa application.

Paying yourself salary for purpose of visa application is like setting your own exam questions, answer them then award yourself high marks.

What’s the difference between preparing your own tax and intentionally paying yourself monthly salaries just to apply for a visa,it’s not fraud?! Lol! I think it’s a ‘Lazy’ procedure on the side of the Eco’s,We’re Nigerians,way of life and business runnings are different! It’s like when it’s not salary style account,they don’t understand it!

They need to do a thorough survey on Nigerians so as to know how to grade our applications properly! If you don’t know us,how would you be able to grade properly?

They spend so much time looking for what’s wrong instead of looking for ways to make it easier for people that actually qualify for a visa but doesn’t appear like it at first glance!


Telling grown family men and women to avoid putting so so monies in their account,transferring money up and down for months for visa! I get it! It’s the procedure,follow it or leave it! But UK people needs to do a re-study on Nigerians! You can’t use the style of a country that’s over 200yrs to grade a 60 year old country!

Sent a strongly worded email with convincing points for an emergency visa appointment on Tuesday Night - 6th.


Received an email from the US embassy at 7.30am the next day - Wednesday, scheduling me for an interview on Friday at 6.30am.

Today, Woke up at 5.00am, joined hands with my sister to decree divine Favour.


VO: Your visa has been approved, do u have the reciprocity fee?
I knew my reciprocity fee was short by 3500 but I answered yes, I did not want wahala.

VO: Go over there and pay, and enjoy ur stay in America

I go over there, praying for a miracle and the money to double...didn’t happen.
Went out and was looking for whom to borrow money from as I didn’t have my atm. One guy who just finished his interview saw me and asked what the problem was.
I told him, he then called his driver to bring money and dashed me 4K. I quickly begged him to wait for me, so I follow him and drop off at my stop.
He waited for me to pay the reciprocity fee and then told his driver to drop me off the stop close to my house.

Please is there anyone here that applied for their UK visa in March and is yet to receive their documents or passport? I applied in March and still haven't heard from TLS. I have contacted UKVI and the matter has been escalated twice but still nothing from TLS. What do you advice that I do?

Contact them again! If you’re in the same state as your Vac center,go there!

Wait till lockdown ease or try your luck with hotel and share your experience. Have traveled to so many countries and have always lodge in a hotel for the duration of my stay. even the UK i visited i would have spent only 6Days in London if not for the Pandemic and not Visited anybody. But at it is now the world is not normal, so different method as to be emulated. let us wait for another persons transcript at POE. my advice is just for people to be aware what they might encounter at the POE.

I agree with the other person saying one should call the hotel and make arrangements before leaving! Seems like a good plan!

And UK seems to be working on reducing the whole 14 days stuff! It will get better by Gods grace!
