Copied from unknown author. My brother, corruption is a major challenge in our dear country. Our prayer is that God will intervene and use any means to defeat this monster of corruption. From my objective observation as a Christian by His grace, this present APC government is not interested on ending corruption. They are only interested in using the supposed fight against corruption to demonise and cripple the opposition and have political advantage in the forthcoming elections. Why did I say they are not after ending corruption? It is so glaring that corruption cases involving the APC members and current government officials are hidden usually swept under the carpet. The implication is that insurance covers them so long as they are loyal to the government. Is that how to end corruption? As an alibi, the propaganda machinery of the present government keeps on telling us to let it be so now. That when the opposition comes to power, they can in turn, prosecute the allegedly corrupt in this regime! But that is not the initial promise of our president and his party when they were seeking for our mandate. They promised that the fight against corruption would be total and wholesome. What if the opposition does not come to power as the APC, yourself and others are seriously campaigning against? What it means is that politicians would simply pledge loyalty to the government in power and keep on stealing while doing everything possible to prevent the opposition from taking over. Now we have heard of those who allegedly stole in the past government. Is it not when the opposition takes over that we shall know how clean the present government is? My view is that the present APC government knows they have failed in their primary responsibility of securing lives and then improving the economy hence their best bet is to continue to exaggerate their only 'achievements': the (one-sided) fight against corruption by demonizing and crippling the only alternative we have thus far, the PDP. In my candid opinion, APC has nothing else to prove other than their usual propaganda and blame game. I believe the opposition PDP have learnt their lessons. To me, they should be given another opportunity to prove a point at least, because of the increasing killings and bloodshed in our dear country which the present government is seemingly and apparently reluctant or incompetent to deal with. If they fail again, we will still vote them out. Thank you. |

But then I ask, how would God judge our forefathers who did not hear the imported gospel of Christianity? What parameters would he use? The good news is that there is a way out of sin and the grievous consequences: Jesus Christ the Saviour. The controversy that God has with sinful humanity is not that we have sinned but that our reluctance to repent and come to the only One Who can save. That refusal is our fault. The consequence is thus ours. As for the new born baby, he/she cannot go to hell fire if he/she should die as a baby because he/she has not reached to the age of accountability. But thank God you are yet breathing. May you can get saved from sin today in Jesus' name, Amen. |

If you read the book of Acts 10 from 1 to the end, you will discover that Cornelius was a morally upright man who was also philanthropic and prayerful. But he needed the gospel to be preached so that he could believe on Christ in order to be saved. The implication is that if he he had relied on his moral uprightness alone, he would have been forever lost to languish in hell. As God did for Cornelius, so He will do for you and others who are sincere. |

Some agree that since the Holy Scriptures affirm its existence including Christ Himself (Psalms 9:17; Matthew 25:41,46; Luke 12:4,5; 16:22-31) then hell fire must be real. There are others who think that God is too merciful to cast the people He created into hell fire for all eternity. Well, you are entitled to your thoughts. However, my take is that one should be on the safer side. If you live your life with the belief that there is hell fire and you die only to discover that there is nothing like that, you don't have anything to lose, do you? On the other hand, if you believe there is no hell fire which affects tour attitude, lifestyle and choices and then you die only to be confronted with the reality of its existence, what will you do? Ephesians 3:19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
This scripture is saying that God’s love is so great that it surpasses understanding. It means it cannot be humanly comprehended in full. We should also note that, God’s love sometimes might not be that pleasurable at the initial stage in some cases, but at the end it comes out the best for us. It eventually turns us to what He wants us to become.

Someone might be thinking, since I am born again, why am I still passing through some difficulties and trials? This can still be as a result of God’s love. We think as humans and all we want is pleasure here on earth, but what God want for us is pleasure here and eternity. He trains and disciplines us through trials and difficulties in other so we can come out strong and when He eventually gives us all our need here on earth, our focus will not deviate from Him.
He does not want us to spend eternity in hell. No wonder the Bible says, God’s love surpasses understanding. So stay strong, don’t give up on Him, He will surely lift you out from those trials and difficulties. Always read and study His words and grow in His knowledge. You are right.
