Business / Re: Rejection Of Old Dollar Notes: My Experience At The Bank Today by unmask: 12:56am On Sep 28, 2021
martyns303:
Today I understood the importance of being informed and I thought of sharing this information. It may be useful to someone.

I went to the bank to deposit USD, unfortunately among the notes is a $100 2003 series. The teller brought out the old series and said they don’t accept it. I have heard of BDC rejecting old notes but for a bank? So I thought I should check what CBN has to say, I googled “old note series CBN”, and found a Memo by CBN that says banks and BDC are not to reject old series or lower denominations.

I quickly informed the teller that there’s a memo to the effect of rejecting old series. The teller said he would have to confirm from his superior, he went ahead to call his boss, the boss came and was like “oh yes, we don’t accept old series”, so I brought out the Memo on my phone and showed it to him and said I need him to confirm that he would not be accepting the old series. He started stuttering and was like he will need to confirm, I said sir this thing is in black and white. I guess he was trying to save face, he went to his desk, made a phone call, then instructed the teller to accept the note.

Below is a copy of the Memo/Circular, in the event anyone might need it.
Big thanks for this. I have always wondered about the rationale

Imagine leaving your job on a Monday morning to protest the eviction of a housemate from a reality show.

No sane person who has a job will do that.
Only jobless people will
Have you seen the stats of the jobless people? I guess you don't know who to blame.

He is at least right about one thing, they are jobless because of the mismanagement of the country by he and his cronies, who have made big brother a solace for millions of youths that are frustrated by how the country is being run.

So If we loose it's ronlados fault, even thou the guy came off before that last minute goal,

If juve had supported Ronaldo with good players, they would have done magic,y'all saying he isn't a team player, you mean he's supposed to leave the number nine position and go and defend or what?

Well some people feel that when Messi does not score, there is a problem and he is not a striker.

The problem you people keep making is determining the best players by number of goals scored. Based on your thinking Halle is far better than CR7 at least he scored 4 goals.

How many goals did Maradona score, yet he is considered the greatest player in football. Messi will score, that is not a problem.

As a team PSG is yet to gel, which is understandable. Messi even had to drop to the midfield yesterday when he noticed the midfield was out of sync with the attack.

Finally CR7 sits in the box 18 and waits for someone to deliver to him, this is not the same with Messi that contributes to other phases of the game.

Even Harry Kane now drops out of the box to contribute to the build up play despite being a centre forward.

Vaccinated:

Unvaccinated:
Someone that didn't take Covid19 vaccines and needs to wear masks, needs to wash or sanitize the hands regularly, needs to observe social distancing...etc! Why? To avoid getting or spreading the Coronavirus.

There's no difference between the 2 groups. What's the point of getting vaccinated if I still have to live my life like an unvaccinated person? Say whatever you want but I will not be getting any Covid19 vaccines. I'll take my chances with my natural immune system.
the vaccine will not stop you getting Covid, it reduces the effect on your body, which would keep you away from the hospital.

The major danger in Covid is the fact that if everyone got sick at the same time, our medical apparatus will be over stretched. And people are reacting differently to Covid, no one knows how they will react.

Like the op said, he hopes you don't get it.

Coronabirus:
Nigerians failed to understand that they're not the ones thinking but rather allow few Politicians to think for them using social and mainstream media.
Between 2011-2015 average Northerner believed that GEJ was behind Boko Haram and FG and DSS were used as an agent of terrorism. Many believed GEJ used security agents to bring weapons to terrorists BH by deliberately allowing the terrorists to ambush arms transported to military in North-East, at the peak of BH insurgency more than 60% of BH weapons were looted by insurgents from military ambush; these allegations was further propelled by Late Gen. Andrew Azazi who was former COAS, and NSA who publicly claimed that PDP is Boko Haram and he shortly died in plane crush which many people believed that he was assassinated for trying to expose hidden agenda of PDP and Nigerian Politicians which is commonly acceptable by average Northerner.

More over, some few years after PMB took over in 2015, BH was pushed to boaders of Borno and Yobe and banditry by Fulani herders become the order of the day, they kill, rape and kidnap people. This prompted many people especially from the south to believe that PMB and APC are terrorists and behind all these insecurities.

Finally, it is very sad how both educated Nigerians and illiterates are so brainwashed & delusional not to understand the media twist and unfounding speculations of dangerous accusations we play which will never solve our seemingly unending problems. Media houses are being paid by opposition parties to play such a dangerous game and the gullible citizens believe everything media feed them especially propaganda driven by ethno-religious bias. This mistrust is proliferated by some extremist religious leaders from both Christians and Muslims who have strong affiliation to party politics and politicians use them to propagate falsehood which they believe gullibile citizens will quickly believe. These religious leaders know nothing about governance but they've few people around them who tell them that they've access to security reports and they know what is happening and govt is planning to do this and that; during GEJ era many of such people deceive Northerners that Southern, Christian President is using BH to depopulate them while under Northern Muslim President they deceive southerners that North want to Fulanize/Islamise them when in reality North is the worst hit and biggest victim of the banditry and kidnapping.
We all have to wake up from being used by ethno-religious division politics!
They will not listen. From the first few comments, you can already see.....Even the report says "Jonathan should be stoned" when she was saying "vote a stone over Jonathan".

These set of people we have North and South are so gullible it is beyond irritating. Nigerians have brains, why don't they use it?

Hello nairaland,
Am thinking about getting a new ride,I am currently eyeing the 2016 BMW X6 model.

What is the cost of this car in Nigeria now and for users of this car please how is it
The X6 is a very good car ensure all your electronics are working good before buying.

I have an X6 2012.....no issues drives well and is my daily driver. I ensure I service regularly and I have a car scanner ready.

The 2016 model should set you back between 18m - 25m.

As per recommendation, I don't think I can buy anything other than a BMW, I might be biased, but you won't regret buying one

no news was read in isolation, your response to the reporters would sure make headlines not even when you are in the spot light. it was obvious he had a thing against united some animosity I believe.

he was meant to know better, he never had it rosy with the united cool he's move on so it remains a closed chapter. than heating and powering a reactor, now achieved it.
He was asked about his time in United. He could have said I don't want to talk about it, which would have still made the headlines as him being rude or whatever.

He didn't enjoy his time at United and he mentioned why.....The coach was his problem.

I don't get why you people don't understand that it is perfect for players not to have a good time at a club and still talk about it after he leaves especially when journalists ask.

Ibrahimovic didn't enjoy his time in Barca too and he also mentions why. Same applies to numerous players.

He wouldn't have said that if he performed very well wearing that number. He was gladdened when the jersey was given to him. Also, every club has a specific number that's legendary to them. In Manchester United, the number 10 and 9 ain't even revered in comparison to number 7. Inter also retired the number 4 because Zanetti wore it. Should they decide to pull it up in the future, it's got to be on one hell of a player.

Maria hates Manchester United and everything about it after his abysmal performance there, and that hatred now extends to Cr7, since he's an icon there. His celebration against them during UNITED vs PSG proves that, and Manchester united fans also feel the same way about him, proven from the reception he got. So, expect such a club flop to say things that'll anger Manchester United.
don't take it out of context. If a journalist asks him "how did you feel wearing the iconic number 7 shirt" what should his answer be if he never really cared about it?

He didn't just speak out of the blues, but headlines will portray it that way.

He is winning. PSG won their league 7 times in the last 10 years. Which happens in all the leagues. English, Spanish, German.

For context, since 1992, Man utd has won the premiership 13 times while PSG has won the french league 8 times within the same period.

his opinion never mattered about it so he should have let it lay low all the same.

it wasn't about the world but united he should realise 7 is iconic to united and remain as such.

it affects or hurts no one one until di maria signify such. this isn't about the jersey but the recent move of the two major football power dynamite.

di maria isn't got the joy for CR7 he isn't hiding it. I don't think he needs that, leave the beefing off to fans to do.
don't read news in isolation.....he most likely responded to a question during an interview. Which in this case his answer was normal. Players don't just sit and say "I don't care about numbers, usually someone asked" and out of the response headlines are created.
