Until you people realise that this our feeding bottle system of government will not take us anywhere. D better for us.

It is not government job to refine petroleum.

If only we deregulated our downstream sector .

Dre would've been enough refineries in Nigeria.

How much is Ghana paying for fuel?
How much is Niger and co.
Even electricity.

Instead.
Our daily consumption jumped from 30m litres to 50m a day while Buhari nd APC pay subsidy without appropriations.

Woes unto you all who sees the truth but always thwart it.

If dey allowed GEJ remove Subsidy

There wouldn't be trillions being wasted today.

No one is hanging anything, the reason why subsidy is still there is because Nigerians don't want to pay 250 naira for a liter of fuel.

Even Obi knows that
The funny thing is that immediately dangotes refineries begin operations , Nigerians will prolly pay more than 250 naira

Bros I understand your position. But for fairness, pay as you go should be achieved first before the increase. If not, it's going to be a total rip off. Pay as you go is the only measure that will ensure these companies improve their services, having in mind that customers will only pay for the power they consume like it's done in sane societies. Even a hut in an obscure village in Ghana has a prepaid meter.

Let me tell you something

Nigerian governments do want light 24/7...

The problem is, the road there involves

1.Raised bills.

2.Strict anti-corruption practices that means ending petty corruption like bribes paid for reconnection.

3.Everyone paying their fair share....which angers Nigerians getting light for free...

4.Taking massive loans....even more than what we are taking now...

And all these don't win votes

(eg...GEJ partially removed subsidy in 2012 from fuel by raising prices from N65 to N140. In the long run...it would have massively benefited our economy. But Nigerians said no, we got the subsidy back, and we wasted millions maintaining a subsidy that was not working).
So in conclusion , we won't see sensible light for the next 50 years or so

You may actually be right.

In the last few years, the first credible, peer-reviewed genetic studies on Ancient Egyptians have been conducted, which show that a small but significant and consistent percentage of Ancient Egyptian ancestry came from sub-Saharan Africa. This ancestry is lowest in northern Egypt, and becomes increasingly large as one proceeds south through the populations of Middle and Upper (southern) Egypt. A 2017 genetic study of 83 mummies from northern Egypt (buried near modern-day Cairo), which constituted "the first reliable data set obtained from ancient Egyptians using high-throughput DNA sequencing methods," showed that these persons were most closely related to the diverse modern populations of what is now the Arab world, particularly the southern Levant and Arabia, while also indicating smaller affinities to the neighboring southeastern European and sub-Saharan African (Nubian) populations. Though the mummies were much more closely related to Arab populations than European, they were actually slightly more closely related to southeastern Europeans than modern Egyptians, a fact publicized in the press coverage of the study; the genetic distance between Ancient and modern Egyptians reflects the much greater level of sub-Saharan African ancestry in modern Egyptians, who are heavily mixed with sub-Saharan Africans, and may also stem from a faulty comparison on the part of the study's authors, who compared Lower (northern) Egyptian mummies to the average genetic composition of all contemporary Egyptians (from both Upper and Lower Egypt).

Nevertheless, all 83 mummies tested had significant levels of sub-Saharan African ancestry, although this ancestry was relatively distant. Specifically, the mummies contained between 6% and 15% sub-Saharan African ancestry, with this component getting increasingly large in the later eras of Ancient Egypt. The study's authors noted that this is much less than the percentage of sub-Saharan African ancestry in modern Egyptians, and emphasized the genetic distance between modern and Ancient Egyptians. The authors also cautioned that their findings might be unrepresentative of Ancient Egypt as a whole, anticipating that mummies from Upper (southern) Egypt would contain considerably greater levels of sub-Saharan African ancestry than the Lower Egyptian mummies they examined, and calling for more future research on the matter.
Wooow , so the modern Egyptians have even more sub Saharan blood than the ancient Egyptians!!!!!

It depends on how far back you go. 1,500 BC Queen Tiye was black with an Afro and all what you can term as African (Negroid) features. There was a report somewhere i read last time that DNA report conduct on her validate that her ancestor hails from Uganda.

But on the links supporting that Egyptians were blacks. This is Cambridge university links below.

This is total rubbish , Egyptians have never been black. DNA tests on their mummies have shown them to be of predominately Eurasian descent.

This is what one of the famous atheist "" Richard Dawkins ""called 'tyranny of the discontinuous mind'. There are no distinct races - there is a smooth gradient of intermediates between races, with African ancestors of all humans migrating to produce all other 'kinds' of people. At each step, however, the change was no more remarkable than the changes between parent and child""
Then let's exclude those with Eurasian ancestry on the spectrum

Humanity began in Africa. Humans have lived in Africa longer than they have lived outside of it. So, logically, there is more diversity within Africa than outside of it. And that is why there is a plethora of “looks” that various African ethnic groups may have.

There is still a great deal of ignorance people have about the continent and its history, especially from the people of the west. .

You have been reading a lot of western literature which tend to have a stereotypical image of what all Africans must belief, look like, behave, are capable of, and have done in their history. The truth is that the reality is often very different from what they imagine.

most people from the horn are part of the Hamitic subrace of the Caucasian race. These include the Oromo in Ethiopia and the Somali peoples. There are also Semitic people in the north of Ethiopia and Eritrea, they are a mix of the aforementioned Hamites and the Semites from Arabia
.
Aren't we saying the same thing

i will recommend this book for you. Guns , germs and steel by jered diamond. Pls get a copy.

See Africa was the first to expand and conquer regions as far as India so i will not thoroughly accept superior technology though it is a factor to consider

Kingdoms from Africa expanded from Egypt to the Near East. The kingdom of Aksum expanded to establish governors in Yemen, that was from the 4th century (Abraha the Qur'anic character).

The Almoravid dynasty that occupied almost all southern Europe, and that was very recently (from around the 11th century to around the 14th century) came from Africa. They established themselves in all big European centers of that time and converted lots of Europeans to Islam.

Africa and Africans started exploiting other regions of the world first before anybody else. That situation lasted for millennials but this was much more peaceful compare to the way the European did it.
Unfortunately , horn Africans are not black

Folk, did you know that BLACKS once ruled the world ? They created empires and kingdoms, built cities and towns and established trade thousands of years before they came into contact with the European Man. They indeed had their own indigenous religion , advanced cultures and well structured societies. They farmed the land and herded cattle for millennia , mined for gold and precious metal and traded with neighbours for other goods and services. The black man was also a mighty hunter, great warrior - fearless , bold yet humble , kind and forbearing.

It was this kind and forbearing trait of the black man, coupled with ignorance that enabled him surrender his birthright to foreigners. Foreigners who introduced their gods into Africa culture and completely overthrew the black mans way of living, destroyed the foundation of his culture, language , and called his religion a death cult.

Ever since these religions came to Africa , the black man keeps turning the left and right cheek for more hot slaps from Arab and white men , to the point that his societies are dysfunctional , chaotic and totally void of true morals. There is mayhem in black Africa from Mauritania to Sudan and all the way down to South Africa. Africans have been battered by the people of God with their Islamic and Christian gods; The black man has been enslaved, colonised and still today is a victim of neoliberal economic policy , which unfairly balances trade in favour of western countries to the detriment of the black man's well being.

Besides , Islam and Christianity have brought us more division as if tribalism was not enough, caused terrible wars that have led to the death of millions upon millions, left behind seeds of hate and paranoia , and created a system of dependency that is not easily broken. Once upon a time, the African man was one with nature, tending to his environment and taking care of both human and beast. Today the African man is against nature, destroying both human and beast.

Some people say that if the white man had not come to Africa we would still be primitive savages worshipping idols. I say this is FALSE. This is the black man yet again looking down on his own culture as inferior and therefore always playing the second fiddle to his superiors.

If we are ever going to move forward, we have to purge our land from these foreign religions and start again to build what we have destroyed.

The ancestors are crying.
Arrant nonsense .

No 1. Blacks never ruled the world.

No 2. We weren't the only set of people that accepted Christianity and Islam . I think you should stop blaming religion for our failures.

Hello Nairalanders, Lol, never thought I would one day post anything on Nairaland. I used to come here just to read news and funny comments by you guys. People like simplykush grin. kiss

Before I go further, I will forever be in debt of the mods if they can pls let this reach front page.

My name (nickname actually) is Herlertah, 18, graduated from secondary school last year with 4 distinctions and 4Bs in WAEC and prospective student of OAU pharmacy (got 281 in jamb but still waiting on that slow school)

I decided to discuss a very important thing with you guys as I know we have many intelligent guys here who, as I have witnessed, have helped many people here.

I discovered when I was in Jss classes that I have the ability to multiply, divide, add and of course, subtract numbers (even big ones, I mean very big ones) without using calculator within a short time or no time at all!!

I am very also very good in squaring numbers within twinkle of an eye, just like, Scott flansburg.
I can find the square of 98765 within 10 seconds with my brain. I know the factor of ever number from 1-more than 10,000 or even more (don't know my limit). I once found the 3^40 and got 12157665459056928801with my head (took me few mins though). It's the longest record I have for now.

I also have the ability to know on what day of the week a date falls, I mean any date, whether past or future. Like asking me on what day of the week June 3rd, 2065 will fall and I will tell you that it's gonna be Wednesday.

I have known this for a while, buh where I am living here in Osun State, its hardly recognised. Although, I was given A MacBook upon from graduation from sec school mainly because of this ability of mine. Still I need help, I want to show this to the world, I want to make the country proud. I can do much more and I don't even know how I am able to do it. Although, I work them in my head buh in a rapid manner.

Thank you as you help with your invaluable comment. My WhatsApp number is 08130284420 if you think am lying. We can chat and I can prove in whatever way I can

Thank you!!!
See someone like you
