Also note that even ethnic Abrahamic Jews too face discrimination
In Israel you have the Ashkenezi Jews who are basically from Europe and you have the Sephardic Jews who are from the Arab world. The Ashkenezi look down on those from the Arab lands. The Morrocan Jews who are about 200,000 strong complain bitterly about discrimination. That was in the past , I don't think that happens again. |

Rgade: More delusional quotes... Ghana doesn't want to put money in a fluid case as Nigeria,, bla bla bla. Of course you just took the better side of the equation. Ghana doesn't have any investments in Nigeria because Ghana doesn't have any franchise or company that can survive or even enter the Nigerian market at all. Simple. Does Ghana have any franchise worth up to a billion dollars?? I don't think so. And your claims that Ghana doesn't invest in Nigeria because of instability is invalidated by the fact that Nigeria has always received more fdi than Ghana. You don't really wanna compare the number of multinationals operating in both countries do you?? You stated that Nigeria has never supplied up to the agreed amount of gas to Ghana, well maybe that's because Ghana hasn't been paying up to the agreed sum. How much are you owing us in gas supply again?? And let's not also forget the fact that it was still Nigeria that paid for and built the same gas pipes Ghana is being fed with. But of course, Africans don't argue with facts and logic, Just sentiments. And when you said that Ghana doesn't receive budget support, does that include aids and grants?? As big and powerful as the UK is, they still depend on the highly controversial Russia for much of her energy needs, and they understand that. Ghanaians always making themselves bigger than they are. Baba u know we still don't have sensible light , we are still producing light that Edinburgh in England a city of 300,000 people are using. Stay there and be comparing us to Ghana. Nonsense |

Something as basic as electricity we cannot sufficiently produce and distribute. It's not as if we had to discover electricity ourselves and then invent ways to generate and distribute it. Others have done all that work, just to implement we can't.
This election period is a particularly disappointing period for me. At this age we still have many people clamoring for illiterates to take the lead and continue the mediocrity. No foresight whatsoever. Omo u travel o . U talk light . What about water supply ? Tap water that Romans have been using over 2000 years ago is still too hard to be implemented for us. Loool |

theoldpretender: Hmmm
Eventually, we are going to do two things in this country...and by extension the whole of Africa because there are countries with two or three tribes that like ehrding cattle (Infact part of South Sudan's problems are due to cattle related problems)
1.Massive grazing ranches...to be run as cooperatives, set up in the far North...with the aim of supplying an agro allied industry and dairy industry. Each and every of these ranches would be linked to the railway network for easy transport of export related products.
2.Additonally, we have to fix the railways.
The era of roaming around with cow is at an end.Our populaiton is now 200million. Back in 1963 we were 55 million, and our railways were already trasporting cow realted products to the South. Too bad mismanagement in the 1970's led to the problems we have today. Then again transforming portions of the arid north to massive ranches would involve a lot of money in irrigation which judging by the size of our budget won't work out . |

theoldpretender: Well, this is my opinion, but
1.Low oil prices are part of the problem too....once the oil falls, revnue falls, and money going to salaries ,etcfall....which affects the economy too.
2.As for not allowing the naira to float....the simple fact is that IMO...if they had done that, that might have only made things worse. Better to apply some control...instead of letting things out of control...the better to save money(What i did not like was the differing naira rates...which allowed round tripping...altho that's been around for decades.) Cc grandstar |

theoldpretender: The cost of light crude oil...the OPEC light...was above $100 from 2011-14.
I recall you saying upthread that OPEC light was the cheapest...well...according to this table...it was above $100 per barrel from 2011-14on average.
I know you GEJ supporters try to downplay the high oil prices of that era....but facts are facts.
AND...anyway...lost in the argument is the fact that our economy is fuelled by oil...and that is the issue....really. Sort that issue out...and we won't need to argue over oil prices.
Bubu saved despite having low oil prices. Good for him....BUT that does not mean he is an economic mastermind either. For him to be one...he has to have a plan for diversificaiton that goes beyond 'agriculture'. Where low oil prices truly the cause of bubus woes or was it his refusal to allow the naira float ? |
Politics › Re: Crude Oil Not Sold For $100 In 16 Years Of PDP – Atiku by urahara(m): 7:04am On Jan 31, 2019 |
theoldpretender: PDP knocked down the foreign reserves from 60bn in 2010 to 32 bn in 2015 with oil above 90 USD from 2010 to 14.
APC raised the reserve from 28bn to 40 bn with oil prices below 75 USD in 3 years.
The economy has not been growing because we rely on oil, not necessarily because of what APC did or did not do. Where APC erred is that they have zero idea on how to get us off resource dependency How can that be so when oil makes up merely 10 percent of our gdp ? |

But aren't other African countries like Ghana , Rwanda and Ethiopia also largely informal and yet Ghana is about 20.8 percent , Rwanda at 14.1 percent and Ethiopia at 11.6 percent https://mobile.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/business/Tax-to-GDP-ratio-alarming-Finance-Minister-597799The link above shows Ghana complaining in 2017 that their tax to gdp ratio of 17 percent is low and is meant to be about 22 to 25 percent , meaning that they have to up their tax collection game |
