PoliticsRe: Nairaland Democrats' Criticisms Of The President-Elect; My (Repentant) Thoughts by Urine: 9:58pm On Apr 28, 2015
MizMyColi:

I was very unfortunate fortunate to trek the suburbs of Lagos' capital today.
Thanks to that faulty ride, the unrepentant gidi traffic and of course, near absence of vacant buses (Rush Hour Tins)
I left the office fuming, but now that I'm finally settled in a bus, on my way to my final destination, I'm thankful.
I had loads of time to trek, to reminisce, and to ruminate.

With the fresh air from the trees planted under the leadership of his excellency, BRF (SAN), fluttering all over my face....it was a time of sober reflection. I asked myself questions, hard ones....questions which everyone who has towed or intends to take the path I towed should ask themselves.

Why do I hate Buhari? What has he done against me as an individual?

Since when did I start excluding people from my grace list?

If GEJ had won, wouldn't I want people to give him grace before jumping at him?
Would I appreciate the militant attitude with which I treat anything GMB/PYO if someone did that to my own?

Even if the progressives on Nairaland treated/treats a man I honour as an individual with such disdain and ineptitude, does it make it right, for me to go all out to get my pound of flesh, albeit subconsciously? Now that their own is in power?

Would it kill me to believe God for a better Nigeria?

Why am I so convinced Nigeria will fail even more?
Btw, if Nigeria falls, who will bear the brunt more?

I have always believed in bringing sense, even out of nonsense. I have always believed that there is inherent goodness in everyman, no matter how worse and evil they appear.....why have I conveniently exempted the APC, GMB/PYO.

I remember asking "Where is Osinbajo?"
In my myopic thinking, I chose to think he has retired to his block of flats and handed over his post, unofficially to Tinubu.

Well, what if as I write now, that man is on his kness, praying and crying his hearts out.....asking God to help him steer the cause of this nation....what if?

For sometime now, I have observed that in my online relations, I have fallen short of THINKing. (an acronym I promoted on here briefly, as regards online ettiquette)

Is it Thoughtful?

Is it Helpful?

Is it Inspiring?

Is it Necessary?

Is it Kind?

Nonetheless, I reckon that we are all growing. We are all getting better... Those that point to our failings and accuse us of being hypocrites fail to see that we all have our blindspots and none of those blindspots makes us any less than we are. For we shine, not in never falling but in rising and pushing on.

It is on this note that I hereby submit that I have seen that my manner of approach and way of addressing Buhari and co was off and I have decided to make a turn around in the spirit of excellence.

Henceforth, I will try to see the good in the incoming administration and maintain a position of near neutrality and objectivity. I will put them in my prayers and be an ambassador of peace and goodwill where ever, whenever; for first and foremost, I am, A Nigerian.
So help me God.

I wish GMB good health of mind and body.
I wish him and his team wisdom and understanding uncommon as they prepare to pilot the affairs of this nation.
And So shall it be.

Thanks for taking time to read.

because it worries me that some minorities who feed from the crumbs of the PDP will want to force their vapid and insipid achievements that were in fact primitive (like the locomotive trains), and ideas that are useless (like the national confab). All carefully wrapped and packaged by sycophants (like barcanister), hoping that we all wake up one day as senseless (as mogidi), and accept all their lies so lies like saTANoids.

But come to think of it, is it not foolish for us as youths who have seen the 16yrs of futile rule of this party, and still not want a change.

Now, we are not sure the change will work, but the only people who failed are those who never tried. So, make we try this one...they have four yrs to prove their competence.
Even though the politics section is the largest gathering of idiotssss online, you have to commend people like the man I've quoted for standing tall and showing us all that it pays to use your brain.

Yeah you are a Nigerian, yeah it's true to be patriotic and I really love people who are politically current but when patriotism turn into obsession it's less attractive. I dont know who you are in life but whoever it is you are I think you have this energy, you have this zeal but you are focusing it on the wrong thing. Be a critic but dont let your life depend on it, you are one of those who make me think some people make their virtual life dominate over the real one, you r always putting up critisism, which I think is essential at the appropriate level, but when it gets too far you become something else, it's like you are really obsessed with this guy and you make me think Olisa Metuh should get you as his PA. Guy focus your energy on things that'll develop you, the time you use here could be more productive I tell you.
You're one smart man in the midst of idiots, your comment is spot on but unfortunately it won't make sense to most people.

my emphasis is on the word unnecessary . for example just compare the routing management in zf2 and Yii2. Me think that companies that make use of zf2 are rather more concerned with the name and possible prestige than productivity — I may be wrong though
I totally agree with you, I will also add security as one of the reasons companies feel tied to it.

The OP is an intellectual Fugazi.

1. This is Prof. Osibanjo's position http://www.channelstv.com/2015/03/26/osinbajo-clears-air-on-n5000-stipend-to-25-million-poor-people/

2. Olisa Agbakoba in 2011 (Town Hall meeting on Subsidy removal) said Nigeria should be making 7 trillion Naira a year from the Maritime industry by just making the companies that ply their trade in that sector to follow the rules and regulations there in.

3. DPR alone remitted 1.3 trillion Naira into federal coffers. Considering how lackadaisical DPR have been over the years, we can rest assured that number should have been at least 5 times higher if run under a serious and well-meaning Govt, such as GMB's. It even sounds more interesting when we consider that FG makes their budgets SOLELY on the proceeds from crude oil sale. Think about the sort of corruption that has been going unattended to for close to 16 years.

4. What about ghost workers? 400K barrels of illegally bunkered crude per day? Zero inventory for sale of condensates? 900B Naira budget for the Military that could not tackle BH in just 14 of the 774 LGs?

If all these holes and more (too numerous to mention) are plugged, there is no telling how much Nigeria will truly have at her disposal. Afterall, how was OBJ able to save 62B dollars in the FR when he sold crude at less than 60$ and battled Militancy (which affected crude production) while at it?

SaTANoids like the OP should go and hang themselves with the chord of bitterness that is currently at their disposal. I don't want to hear that Faux-intellectualism or pseudo-analysis took the glory.
Thank God for smart people!

Wrong! Wrong!!. The former Emir of Kano late Ado Bayero was sitting atop major multinational companies and investments as a silent but very influential board member one of which was Intels Gruop which is co owned by Atiku. Ado Bayero was present in serious Board meetings. You might not know this because everything musn't go to the press. In likewise manner Emir Sanusi would definately be towing that line too. The throne attracts even wider businesses and contacts instead of being restricted to only one place say only Banking. He would still be contributing his vast knowledge in the business world even though sitting on that throne.
God bless you!

Ralphlauren:
I do not agree with you.

If that was the case, why wasn't the late Emir Ado Bayero and other prominent Northern Emirs given the same "exposure" before they ascended the throne?

While trying to remain modest and not say too much about myself, I have sat in a few board meetings with him, the most recent a few weeks before he was made the head of CBN, so I know the stuff he's made of. He is not just talk without substance. He's very grounded and intellectually sound upstairs.

I knew he was a Prince but I never thought he was a serious challenger to the throne.

It's just sad to see him "waste" this way. undecided
My brother, you have no idea of how Northern Oligarchy works, the late Emir, was a banker, member of parliament, and also a diplomat (he was an ambassador). I know Sanusi is sound, in fact all Northern leaders since independence are very smart.

If you doubt my argument about exposure, look at the educational background of the most important Northern leaders we've had since independence. Better still why do you think there's a very high level of illiteracy there? It's a long story, don't let me derail this thread.
