lanrexlan:Am interested in your response to the rest of my last post. |
lanrexlan: Only a bad husband will be pleased with his wife's bad behaviors or negligence of Islamic injunctions. Won't you be pleased with a righteous wife? If you aren't pleased with a righteous wife, then check yourself.Well, a man may have a warped sense of righteousness, seeing his wife as righteous and be pleased with her. It does happen. You give the impression that the husband of a righteous woman will definitely be pleased with her and also, the wife whose husband is pleased with is definitely righteous. This is the message from the hadith i cited originally and my reason for tagging it contradictory to the Qur'an is that it presents the pleasure of a man by his wife as a function of her piety which will undoubtly grant her eternal life. You are insinuating that the hadith says the ticket to paradise is when a mortal is being pleased with his/her fellow mortal and [s]not for those who observe salat, give Zakat and are righteous thus the hadith contradicting the Qu'ran.[/s]No, i did not imply that. I implied that the only one whose pleasure with us will certainly guarantee us paradise is God not spouse. The Hadith contradict this Qur'anic fact because the fact that a man is pleased with his wife doesn't necessarily imply that God is pleased with her and so paradise is hers. I went on to prove to you that your logic is wrong using different analogies. I said if I memorized the names of Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala), will I leave the fard enjoined on me by Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) and his Prophet(Peace be upon him and his household) because the hadith says 'Anyone who memorized the names will enter paradise'? Does the hadith says memorization of Allah's name ONLY is the ticket to paradise? Is that the only deed I will do? NO! Similarly, the hadith you quoted doesn't in any manner says that a man pleased with his wife is the only thing a woman must do to enter paradise. In essence, you are basically saying; Not any woman whose husband is pleased with her upon her death will enter paradise." But your tradition says; "Any woman whose husband is pleased with her upon her death will enter paradise". Your interpretation of this tradition seem to be contradicting the Hadith itself. If you try to interpret the Hadith that guarantee paradise for those whose last words before death is shahadah the same way, you will be at odds with your own Mujtahid and Madrasas. So far, your best interpretation for the Hadith is that; "Any woman whose husband is pleased with her upon her death must have fulfilled all her Islamic obligation and so will enter paradise." That is the same way you interpret the Hadith granting paradise for those whose dying word is the shahadah. But even this interpretation contradict Qur'an and i have explained that already. |
In line with the above Hadith, i wonder if you can explain the following Hadith; ‘Abdullah Ibn ‘Amr Ibn AI- As said, “Do not visit the drunkard when being ill.” |
lanrexlan: A woman whom her husband is pleased with would have been obeying the injunctions of Allah(Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) by following what Allah commanded to do in regards to her husband and other Allah's injunctions, if she keeps to these and her husband is pleased with her then Alhamudulilah for her, if her husband isn't pleased her for obeying Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) injunctions, that's the husband's problem and it doesn't contradict her ticket to paradise.Really? So once one is pleased with his wife, it is an indication that his wife is or has been faithful to Islam? When i examine your analogies, i find it highly selective and not convincing when other hadith are taken into consideration. For instance, one of your tradition rules that any Salat without Al Fatiha is null. Going by your analogies, we can conclude that ommiting Al Fatiha may not necessarily nullify one 's salat, unless other steps are ommited as well! The problem with your post is that it tries too hard in vilifying me and defending hadith simulatenously that it end up defeating its own aim. |
As a true Muslim, what should you do when a cartoon is published mocking your religion?
When thou seest men engaged in vain discourse about Our signs, turn away from them unless they turn to a different theme. If Satan ever makes thee forget, then after recollection, sit not thou in the company of those who do wrong. On their account no responsibility falls on the righteous, but (their duty) is to remind them, that they may (learn to) fear Allah.

Already has He sent you Word in the Book, that when ye hear the signs of Allah held in defiance and ridicule, ye are not to sit with them unless they turn to a different theme: if ye did, ye would be like them. For Allah will collect the hypocrites and those who defy faith - all in Hell:
Have Faith |
As the supremacist Muslims will rather obey traditions which orders them to kill those who mock their religion, they reject Qur'an which orders them to ignore or merely admonish those who mock their religion. And consequently, in bid of keeping their traditions, they even killed their own Muslim brother in cold blood during the recent Charlie Hebdo shooting. www.theguardian.com/world/2015/jan/08/ahmed-merabet-mourned-charlie-hebdo-paris-attack |
slyfox5555: Two Islamic cowards went into a newspaper office and murdered 12 people and murdered innocent policemen/ women - they stated clearly why they did it, in the name of Allah and defending Mohammad honor. The motive and thinking behind such act is what I am against as a Muslim. Perhaps you support it - I won't be surprisedDefending Muhammad 's honor against whom? It Muslims who slander and defame Muhammad 's honor with their unholy Hadith. For every satirical cartoon published in papers, i can give you enough Muslim Hadith as a confirmation. I can even give you Hadith that justifies the Charlie Hebdo shooting. Muhammad 's honor need to be defended against Muslims. The level of ignorance in the Muslim community nauseates me beyond belief. However, i think the cartoonists should have presented evidence by citing Hadith that justify their portrayal of Muhammad along with their drawings, so that sincere Muslims can pursue the truth instead of casting themselves as victims. |
Empiree:how is that relevant to this topic? |
slyfox5555: Secondly, the sanctioning of free speech and demonizing of anyone that criticizes Islam by CAIR is not healthy. I am a Muslim, I will engage and debate anyone with other views about my religion without smearing them or demonizing them.Organizations like CAIR are very deceptive and cunning. Under the pretext of supporting Islam and Muslims against 'Islamophobia' and bigotry, they work to stifle any inquiry, debate and criticism on controversial matters in the Muslim world like death for apostasy, blasphemy, Female Genital Mutilation, honor killings and other religious linked human right violations overlooked in the Muslim world. For instance, early last year, CAIR heavily slammed, campaigned and pressed charges against a documentary on Honor Killing released in US. Honor killing is a predominant occurence in the Muslim populated Middle East than any where else. Of about 6 or 7 women featured in this documentary, no less than 4 of them are notable Muslims. There was no attribution of honor killing to Islam throughout the film, the objective was to blow the whistle on a growing problem, not pointing fingers. CAIR fully realizes all these but chose to cry Islamophobia instead. CAIR and her sister organization know how detrimental criticism and whistle blowing of certain 'Islamist' matters is to their mission in US. Hence, they seek to blurr the line between humble rational criticism or whistle blowing and insults or slanders when it pertain to 'Islam'. |
CAIR, NAIT, ISNA, ICNA; these are Muslim Brotherhood front groups in North America sharing the same ideology with terror overtones. Whilst presenting themselves as pro-western moderate Muslims, they are dubious with ulterior motives of infiltrating the west, slowly breaking the dominance of democracy, free-speech and secularism to stealthily institute Shari'ah. This is visible in places like UK already. In three lengthy topics, i have exposed Shari'ah; an over-hyped, discriminatory, repressive, draconic and unholy law garbed as Divine law--- Shari'ah: The Great Brain Robbery Shari'ah II: Phantom Heaven Shari'ah III: War! Any Islamic organization that is financed by 'petro-dollars' or conform with an political/militant brand of Islam is either a terror agitating organization or terror sympathizing organization. |
AlBaqir: In the 1st and 3rd hadith where the holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his household) was reported to have said "there is no blood- money" for those murder, what about freeing of slave which is par recommendation for murder?First, the killers in both Hadith were never condemned. Secondly, there was no mention of penalty for the killers. So, the only impression here is that killing people for insulting or satirizing the Prophet is justice, not a crime. Those women are wives of their respective husband, and to whom will their husband paid the blood-money? To himself as her lord? He can only free a slave that will be useful in the society to "replace" her of her duties to the society if any. It is the responsibility of the Prophet to free slave, in this case, if the husband/the man is not capable of doing so.You are sounding ignorant or dishonest here. There is always a next of kin to whom the blood money can be paid. The killer of the Jewish woman in the third Hadith wasn't even identified as her husband. Remember the Saudi Sheikh convicted of torturing and murdering his kid? He paid the blood money to his wife; http://en.alalam.ir/news/1523219 The 2nd hadith about Abu Bakr. He was very right for none has the right to legislate esp when it comes to taking of life except Muhammad or what is obvious in the Book of Allah. You should read the hadith again. Abubakar implied that the penalty of death is only applicable when the harsh or rude speech is directed to the Prophet. Lastly, in all these secular worlds which you represents, can you ever in your life abuse Queen Elizabeth in the streets of London? Or the Pope in the vatican city? If you are born well, come to Ilorin (anywhere) and say nonsense to the Emir of Ilorin. You are a walking copse.Straw man argument, as usual. My activism for secularism doesn't mean i support all contemporary laws of secular states. Think deeply before you respond, 'Muslim'. And don't even try raising alarm for 'Islamophobia'. I have defended Islam and Muhammad more than you can imagine, thanks to your unholy traditions. Your love for Muhammad is no better than the Christians love for Jesus. |
One important question the scholars of tradition cannot answer is; If hadith were so important, why wasn't it documented in direct speech like the Quran during the Messenger 's days? How on earth do you emphasize Hadith when the deliverer of the Qur'an and his companions reigned for over 35 years during which they compiled Qur'an and never bothered documenting the Hadith. Like they say, the rabbit hole goes very deep. |
B. Looks may be decieving. That hadith that appear faithful to the Qur'an may contradict several verses of the Qur'an on closer scrutiny. E.g; Sunan Ibn MajahAs long as orthodox exegesis of Qur'an 4:34 is concerned, the above Hadith seem to be harmonious with Qur'an. However, a deeper look reveals that it contradict several verses that repeat paradise is meant for the righteous, those who are observant of salat, zakat and those whom God is pleased with. Not necessarily those who another mortal is pleased with. Ironically, these same Hadith books report that any good deed with the intent of pleasing other than God is not rewarded. Remember these are 'authentic or mass transmitted' hadith often touted as sound. So what is the essence of proper methodology that hadith defenders keep hyping. |
Peace! We don't necessarily need to toss all the hadith copies into the bin. But we need to stop revering hadith as divine revelations binding upon or recommendable for Muslims. Of course, Hadith may contain hints or tips about Islam here and there, but overall, it is self contradictory, conjecture and baseless from the Quranic point. What if we follow Hadith but reject those that contradict Qur'an? "Don't reject Hadith but follow those Hadith that do not contradict the Qur'an" is the resolution of those who opt for a middle path between Qur'an and Hadith because they find other alternatives too extreme. For two reasons, that is a faulty resolution: A. By prescribing or prohibiting what the Qur'an is silent upon, some Hadith do not contradict the Qur'an. Do we simply assume they are authentic just because they don't contradict any verse of Qur'an. Example; Jami a' Tirmidhi |
Empiree:Am sorry, you must be weak to recommend that thread for me. Did i ask any Muslim to condemn Charlie Hebdo shooting? Did i complain that Muslims aren't condemning the shooting? I don't expect you to condemn something that is justified under your teachings. I am not a naive, ignorant westerner. The least you could have done is discuss those traditions(Hadith) posted above but you chose to find fault somewhere else. |
You can see why it is hard to believe the Muslim or Muslimah the next door when they condemn Charlie shooting. It is utterly insincere to condemn this shooting whilst silent on traditions as above. I cannot relate with the Muslims here. Of course, the cartoonists should have done better but i find them more relatable. Imagine being a non-Muslim and learning a certain man introduced a religion, where apostates and critics are killed, disbelievers are repressed and forced to convert, this same man married and cohabited with a kid, aggressed against non-Muslims and sanctioned slavery. When you find billions idolising this man, it takes a very subtle mind oppose this man without resorting to insults or satire. |
Abu Dawud 4361 narrated from Ibn ‘Abbaas that a blind man had a concubine who used to insult the Prophet. He told her not to do that but and he rebuked her but she did not heed him. One night, when she started to say bad things about the Prophet and insult him, he took a short sword or dagger, put it on her belly and pressed it and killed her. Sunan an Nasa'i Abu Dawood (4362) narrated from ‘Ali that a Jewish woman used to insult the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and say bad things about him, so a man strangled her until she died, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) ruled that no blood money was due in this case. |
Why i do not expect an honest condemnation of Charlie Hebdo shooting from mainstream Muslim authorities The Imams, Muftis, Muslim organizations will undoubtly come out to deny this shooting as unIslamic, if they haven't already. But while the liberals, the leftists and the politically correct politicians will help them echo this condemnation, i have studied mainstream Islamic narratives long enough to be swayed by apologists or window dressers. The truth is, if you want to understand a religion, don't let the religionists teach you everything. Do research on your own too. Otherwise, the adherents of that religion will decieve you and make a fool of you. So, why wouldn't i expect a honest condemnation of Charlie Hebdo shooting from mainstream Muslim authorities? I have never taken verbal denial, condemnation or apology for an act more that a grain of salt. Anyone could verbaly/passively condemn terrorism or violence, but it take a truly sincere person to practicaly/actively condemn these. If you look at mainstream Islamic texts, you will find several traditions that justifies Charlie Hebdo shootings; |
Empiree:I expected such a backlash. I haven't discouraged the OP in anyway. I opined that one who is ready for Islam should have done his homework well enough to understand certain things without asking specifically. You cannot be ready for an exam, standing at the door of the exam center and yet you don't know if an eraser will be neccesary or not. Your problem with me here is that i did not instantly goad him on as most Muslims do. Read my lips, Empiree; i do not care about followers or co-religionists, i care about substance. I don't treat religion as politics where the jackpot is to draw the largest crowd. That is why i rather implore people to search for the truth about their religion, inquiring and re-examining the mainstream narrative of it. I don't believe in one religion for all. |
tartar9:It is too bad you are yet to realize the problem with jizya from your law. You try equating jizya to tax and an alternative to zakat. No one with a sound understanding of jizya will accept that. Zakat is paid for feeding the poor and needy, tax is paid for running state services but jizya is paid simply to avoid death. Remember Shari'ah gives non-Muslims 3 choices; convert, pay jizya or face death. Those who do not convert pay jizya to be spared of death, not for any other reason as in tax and zakat where the objective of paying is not to avert death. |
tartar9:your own foremost Qur'an interpreter, Ibn Kathir said ; Tafsir Ibn Kathir>>Qur'an 9:29 |
tartar9:what is the purpose of the jizya? Is it not to degrade them? Is state tax as degrading as Jizya? |
Shouldn't someone ready to accept Islam already know the answer to that question? Anyway, whatever you do, be analytical about Islam. Like every other religions, there are facts and myth, truth and misconceptions, realities and deceptions about Islam. Do your homework thoroughly. Do not fall for the bandwagon, not all that glitters are gold. |
It is an empty charade. I have sniffed his game. By the way, he created the same topic in Islam section. You may want to check; www.nairaland.com/1986401/jihad-it-only-defense |
Advice Stand against Shari'ah today, whether you are a Muslim or non-Muslim. Shari'ah cannot be justified on moral, rational and scriptural grounds when you analyze the ramification of its decrees. Amputation may seen to be an ultimate deterent to theft, but so is burning car for wrong parking. We should be able to prove that unless the Qur'an Mr A burnt belong to Mr. B, Mr. A cannot be held accountable by anyone. Don't merely protest against Shari'ah, educate the public on the harms of its decrees and refute or debunk the argument of the Shari'ah advocates and Islamists. It is a war of ideas! END |
Reality Iran and Turkey where secularized in the first third of last century. By 1979, Shari'ah had been fully returned to Iran. Today, secularism is losing virtually all its grip over Turkey for Shari'ah. This is happening because, we fail to realise we are caught in a war of ideas in which Shari'ah advocates and Islamists do all the attack while the secularists, liberals and democrats seldom counter-attack. This same war is all over America and Europe today. Any non-Muslim who dare question or condemn Shari'ah is branded an Islamophobe while any Muslim who dare express mere contempt for Shari'ah is dubbed an hypocrite or western agent. Whereas, 95% of Shari'ah doesn't come from the Qur'an, but from hearsays collected no earlier than 150 years after Muhammad and opinions or teachings of clergy who have no authority from the Qur'an. The rest 5% of Shari'ah from the Qur'an concerns theft, adultery, murder, divorce and inheritance which are distorted and misapplied by the traditionalists who represent the mainstream. |
Conclusion Truth Too often, we fail to realize the power of ideas. Most of us seldom study. Shari'ah advocates and Islamists realize this and exploit it to their advantage via strawman argument and window dressing. They tell you that Shari'ah bans things like alcohol and usury for the good of man. They never tell you that according to Shari'ah, a ruler cannot be questioned or held accountable for offenses. They seldom tell you that only Islamic symbols are permitted and crucifix, bible and other religious symbols are outlawed by Shari'ah. |
3. Jizya can be periodically varied by Shari'ah authorities, Zakat is fixed. 4. Jizya is paid by the non-Muslims to be granted peace. It is meant to humiliate them. Tax goes to the government and serve as revenue for running state public affairs. Zakat goes to the poor, needy orphan, destitute. Tafsir Ibn Kathir>>Qur'an 9:29 |
