If Nigerians hadn't messed Nigeria up. Govt is a sad reflection of our evil characters.
Please don't say that.
Go thriugh the history of the world. Whenever different tribes are together, there is always fight and tussle till one tribe/language dominates the whole region and people begin to forget their own real village/tribe.
The Gauls are the original stubborn tribe in Europe that konck everybody's head.
The Guals are the ROMANS. They went to England, konck theory head, went to France, Germany and some part of Africa.
Their language was Latin! That's why all European languages an English, have similar words. Because theyball derived from Latin.
English = I (me)
German = Ich
Belgian = Ik
French = Je. {if no be "I", na "J" }

If the politicians hadn't messed Nigeria up, he might not have traveled illegally to Indonesia in search of greener pastures.
Other countries that are doing well, how did they get their own politicians? Did they import them from overseas?
Their politicians are still their own people, one of them.
So what's wrong with us that we are always selecting yeye people as politicians?

Nigeria has finally lost her place among the league of nations. Trust me, these assaults on our citizens will continue. And as we continue to cherry-pick with raised ostrich head whether the assaulted are our tribesmen, the assaults come closer to us.

A country that is responsible don't joke with any of her citizen, no matter how lowly placed or how grievous their crime.

I hope we take clue from this and realise there is no better time to unite than now.
Then we need to define the reasons for unity.
Is it for trading purposes?
Is it for technology advancement?
Is it for security purposes?
Is it for job purposes?
-
If we can do these things individually what is the point of uniting?
We all have a common set of politicians whom nobody has brought to justice. Politicians still eat our money and allow us to suffer. Despite all the elections, still same set of thieving politicians in power.
So what is the purpose of me and you uniting?

Don't blame other people for your downfall. Civilization started from Africa, but of what use did they make from it? Nothing, but myopic and retrogressive in their way of life.

Africans with their magical strength, couldn't achieve anything meaningful rather than destroying themselves.

The Europeans gave you science and technology, formal education, energy and so much more, what else do you want, their life?

Your ancestors, what did they leave for you, aside juju that they never used for something meaningful, they didn't put the natural resources in the earth for you. Why then, are you this ungratefulhuh!
Your analysis is correct. But see it from another angle.
When people travel, they gain experience and exposure. God made Abraham to travel. God made Israelites to travel....
All civilizations travelled out of Africa, and as they traveled, they met challenges to overcome.
Each victory resulted in their advancement and development.
The original county of every white person is Africa.
Those of us here in Africa, have not seen any need to travel. We were doing ok with our simple basic life style. We had resources everywhere.

This white people who travelled have gained technology and all, but have lost their peace.
We can live without electricity for 1year, 2years.
They are 100,000,000 percent ADDICTED to electricity.
If their NEPA takes light, people actually will DIE.

HABA! Did your mother born you with battery? Is it not clear nyash all of us were born with? When did this addition to electricity and technology begin?
It began with white man
The by product of the technology is now MASSIVE global pollution. Poisonous chemicals, plastics, glasses... which white man AGAIN DUMPS ON AFRICA in the name of 2nd hand goods.

Nigeria is a very insecure place. The mistake those boys made is copying Oyibo 100%

Development starts from the stomach until we've the basic Amenities we can't grow and as long as people like you don't see any crime in politicians stealing billions and focus on people whose crime can't affect the Economy Nigeria won't grow. Equality starts when everyone goes under the minimum wage and the rich and poor are treated equal by the EFCC not this nonsense they're doing. Fighting backyard crime cutting the branches and leaving the Root.
Let the government first stop importation of all products and services. Importation is enough.

Are you justifying that they are incapacitated?
There is no way, this magnitude of project would be executed without a registered engineer.
Then, What is the need?
What you want is for COREN to be given legal power over a contractors job as well as the contractors certificates.

In western world, you cannot carry out any project with proper certificates etc... No one issues you the certificates without you learning the trade and guidelines. Eg, I did driving test 3 times, before I was issued with a driving licence. I had to do driving lessons for over 1 year before I was allowed to do the driving test.
By the time I had the driving licence, I was definitely a competent UK driver.
If I didn't have licence and just jumped into their roads and started driving,
1. CCTV and other drivers would see me and report my car licence plate to the authority
2. I would be issued a fine to my very house address
3. The police would arrest me and lock me up for driving without a licence
4. Even if I stole/fabricated a UK licence, I would be fined for my bad driving, the driving agency would be forced to investigate how I got the licence, them me and the licence would be thrown out of the road.
This is just for the driving sector in UK. At least I know that one.
Does it work that way in Nigeria?
Every sector needs to work like this. We are not good at enforcing the laws we impose.
COREN may have setup rules and laws, but they are not given the support to investigate and punish defaulters.
Too many people falsifying documents and "Bribing" other arms of the government.

First the Police is made to look STUPID, by paying them USELESS, unlivable wages.
When they are TOTALLY hungry and dejected, offer them a small bribe and they will allow you do any nonsense you like.

We all have to work together to raise standards in this country.
I personally saw UK police when first I arrived at their airport exactly like this image below . Taller and stronger than me. I instantly respected them.
Do these people look like they are hungry and need your money?
They don't have any "Big Belle" Oga. That is a sign of laziness/crookedness … something is wrong.
They never tarnish their image with unfit/ugly looking persons with bald head etc.. They are well paid and they do the job 100%

Where is COREN and Nigerian Society of Engineers?
What do you want them to do?
They create standards and guidelines for safe engineering projects.
But they cannot stop rouge contractors from falsifying documents and taking government contracts.
Just as Nigerians have become expert at pirating music, movies, software,...
...they are also good at pirating documents, certificates, licenses.
...lying, stealing, cheating, dishonesty....
...jumping queues, overtaking wrongly, going against one-way traffic,

It goes beyond latching. The problem starts with the way the containers are loaded and the failure to stabilize the contents and secure them properly inside the containers. This mainly occurs after inspection when agents do a rush job in trying to beat demmurage. Pressure will always cause corner cutting.
Anything Equipment in this Nigeria, is never maintained.
The latches and containers surely have some nuts and bolts which must have broken off and nobody cares to fix.

If you become so interested in equipment repairs/maintenance, fellow Nigerians will not appreciate your effort and pay you proper fees for your work

But in all this we still have a government, both federal and states still claiming to be on top of affairs. For as long as none of this happens to them or their families, then to hell with everything.
We are our own biggest enemy. If you care make all the money in the world, one thing remains for sure, you are a Nigerian and the image of this country will go with you wherever you go. A poor citizen of a rich nation will always be respected and treated better than you with all your stupid senseless money.
I feel you.
I once lived overseas (UK). The only enjoyment I had was that if played very well, people would not know I was Nigerian. They something's thought, Ghanaian or Kenyan.
Is just that I used to feel lonely and would then open up to Nigerians (Igbo, Yoruba guys) that I too was a Nigerian. At a point I want to just associate only with the whites and forget everything.
I still have an uncle there that did this. He has forgotten us very well and married a white woman, wants to die and be burried there. Doesn't give a damn about his father's property in my mum's village. He's first son.

Don't think they are falling because of bad roads but because they are not properly secured. Nigeria is basically putting containers on the back of flat bed trucks when in advanced nations the trailer is bought with an enclosed container that cannot be removed cause it's permanently attached to the frame.
A pity
Advanced nations are advanced because they took it upon themselves to manufacture whatever they want. They have all types of equipment for all types of jobs. Equipment, spare parts and a maintenance attitude. They maintain often because they are all interested in the equipment and how to make it better. MOT is there to remind them to carry out regular maintenance on road bound equipment (vehicles).
Nigeria, we don't manufacture anything. Just fold hands and import from white man. When the money runs dry, we start to manage failing Whiteman equipment without fresh spare parts. We can't make anything.
The danger now is that the whole of Nigeria is filled up with equipment that is slowly turning into Junk everywhere. Junk on the road, school, homes, offices. Vehicles breaking down and crashing into each other on the roads daily.
