Blackteeth:
This is Brownteeth. I was banned two days ago, so here I am with a new ID.

@Koruji. Am yet to believe that all of humanity came from Africa. And there has been no concrete proof to show that. If they are saying that it was a change in environment that made the blacks who migrated from Africa to other regions of the world to have a white skin, pointed nose, straight hair and all that, Why are the blacks in foreign lands at present not transforming to whites or Asians in their host countries? Saying that blacks transformed to whites is like saying that human beings transformed to monkeys cos the began to spend more time on top of trees. Besides who among us is an eye witness to the black to white transformation? NOBODY!! Forget those stories.

@ROSSIKE. First of all do try to make your comments as short as possible to enable an easy and quick grasp of the message you intend passing across. I think you depend so much on the history books without using your brain to question the things you read. Those things you wrote there may be true but I am still trying to let you know that the Egyptian Africans who played those roles thousands of years are not the same as the Africans we have today spread across Sub Saharan Africa. If actually they were the same, that knowledge of civilization should have been passed to the later generations. But it didn't happen cos when the Europeans visited Africa, Africans were stark illiterates. That knowledge should NEVER have escaped like that. But the fact is those things you mentioned are all history. It's time for us to focus on the present age.

I asked you to explain how the TEACHER EVENTUALLY BECAME AN ILLITERATE AND HAD TO BE MADE LITERATE BY THE STUDENT HE TAUGHT, but you brushed it aside.

Anyway, the main thing is whether Africa ushered in civilization or not, it still doesn't change the fact that Africans are presently backward and the focal question is why are they backward? I think you have been beating about the bush with your history book. This is the question you should answer straight away. Don't tell me slave trade or colonization please because Africans have had enough time to fix the damage.
You are right? It is not colonization. The reason is that all countries of the americas, asia, australasia and africa were colonized by europe but we see all others have fixed the damage done by colonization except africa and a few aboriginal people in australasia.
WHY?
All others had writing (i.e permanent record storage and accurate retrieval) before the colonization. Only africa and a few aboriginal people in australasia lacked it. Africa's doom was tied to the lack of writing.

Civilization as we know it today is directly tied to writing.

If you look at excavated items from pre-writing era from different continents, you will see that there wasn't much difference in the level of civilization from one continent to the other. However, things changed when others benefited from the invention called writing.Sub-sahara africa was geographically cut off from the rest of the world at that time (4th millenium bc) because of the vastness and shape of the sahara desert. Please check out the facts.

^you've failed to understand the answer to your queries, so let me 'mellow down a bit' to what you MAY understand. NO CHILD OF GOD WOULD NEED TO RECOGNISE HIM, HE'LL RECOGNISE THEM.
As to your fears on the infallibility of God's Word, no need to fear, only believe. Really that's all to be done by you. People have tried and are still trying to remove from and add to the Scriptures, it's just not possible, as in IMPOSSIBLE. The Word of GOD will stand forever, even if heaven and earth pass away, solid stuff, reliably dependable.
Nobody, no government or organisation, demon or company, devil or gate can remove one tittle from the Word.
@image123,
your words in blue have been shown to be untrue.See the verse below? The Red part was added to it and has severally been manipulated.God did nothing about that.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
The bible is truly the word of the God.But the problem is that  God himself was made in the image of man;a jewish man.
Mohammad realized this and re-created God in the image of the arabic man.
PoliticsRe: The Black African Gene by VALIDATOR: 5:09pm On Dec 07, 2010
The main reason for the economic backwardness of Sub-Sahara Africa is a combination of two factors and a very bad timing because the two occurred simultaneously

1 The drying up and the shape of the Sahara desert since the 4th millennium BC made it impossible for people to cross it from North to South and vice versa.Hence the south of the Sahara was inhabited by a section of Humanity who were completely cut off from the rest of the world making geographical diffusion of ideas across the Sahara desert impossible.Note, there were no sea going vehicles then. The only means of traveling was by land.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sahara#Climate_history

2 Writing started during the 4th millennium BC at the northern part of the Sahara and diffused to other parts of the world since they can be reached by land.About the same time writing started in meso-america making it possible for the Americas to embrace it through geographical diffusion of ideas. But because of reason no (1) above,it was impossible for the southern part of the Sahara to know of and benefit from such development.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Writing#History_of_writing

The main point here is that economic and technological activities could only be as complex as the means of records storage and accurate retrieval that is used. This is still very true today and will continue to be true tomorrow.Sub-Sahara Africa, because of reasons no (1) and (2) above never learned the art of writing (i.e records storage and accurate retrieval) thus economic and technological activities only got as far as the amount of information that our people were able to commit to memory of their brains.

Now, DID THE DRYING UP OF THE SAHARA DESERT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH A "BAD/BLACK" GENE?I guess NO.
DID THE COINCIDENCE OF WRITING STARTING AT A TIME WHEN WE WERE AT A GEOGRAPHICAL DISADVANTAGE HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH A "BAD/BLACK" GENE?I guess NO.

Way forward:
The degree of the economic and technological development of a group is directly proportional to the efficiency of it's means of record storage and accurate retrieval i.e information and communication technology.

Food for thought:
Man is more successful than other species on earth simply because our use of language brings a higher efficiency of records storage and retrieval.

I also watched something similar about it on National Geographic (or was it History or Discovery Channel). Some people just love being fooled for a promise of an illusory heaven/paradise.

Now @topic,
Jesus' physical appearance was never mentioned in the Gospels but so was that of many other people in the bible.
It was never mentioned that he ever
1 Urinated
2 Defeacated
3 Had his bath
4 Brushed his teeth

But so were many other people in the bible.

LAGOS— AN EIGHT man robbery gang, including a lady, yesterday invaded a Redeemed Christian Church of God, The Hope Centre, Amuwo Odofin, in the Mile 2 area of Lagos State. The gun-wielding robbers, who came to the church at about 8.25a.m. in motorcycles, succeeded in robbing the early morning worshippers of money, telephone sets and jewelries.
A source told newsmen:
“They came in as if for early morning worship. But as soon as they gained entrance into the church they ordered all the worshippers to lie face down and hand in their money, phones and jewelries.”
Contacted, the Lagos police spokesman, Mr. Frank Mba, a Superintendent of Police, confirmed the incident. Mba said that as soon as they arrived, a distress call came to the Festac Town Police Station, which sent its men, led by the DPO, ASP Usman, to the church immediately, stressing that the suspected robbers unfortunately left before the police got there.
He said: “Our men recovered some items belonging to the suspects, which fell off from them. The items will help the police to trail them. “They collected about 30 handsets and various sums of money from worshippers they met in the church. We use this medium to advise religious groups, particularly the church, to beware of fake members.

Nigerian's really love falsehood and anything that smells like scam.
Can't our government follow very simple procedure for verifying Emeagwali's claims rather than allowing misinformed Nigerians to accuse/defend him blindly?
He claims to have obtained a Phd. That can easily be verified.
He claims to have certain achievements. That can easily be verified.

But NLs prefer to trivialize it all by playing the ethnic card. What has ethnicity got to do with whether you are who you claim to be.

And food for thought:
If Emeagwali is not a scam, he would have made verifiable facts available to the Nigerian Government (since he is on our postage stamp) from the onset of the allegations by other Scientists.

@ Validator, pls how do i know the exact network driver i need for the mini notepad laptop?
Tenx
VALIDATOR:
the most likely cause of your problem is that the new operating system did not automatically install the drivers for some hardwares including your network adapter.

Solution,
1 use the device manager to confirm the above-
2 Use another computer to go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer and download the driver(s) you need for the network adapter and any other ones you need e.g audio, vga, etc. It is FREE
3Copy the driver that you downloaded to your computer via flash drive.
4 Install it on your computer

I hope it helps.
Once on the website of your computer's manufacturer, look for the driver downloads page and then look for your particular desktop/laptop and the operating system you have installed on it.It's very EASY and FREE.

Those doubting; Are you doubting because you think it is impossible or because she is Nigerian/African born and living in Nigeria. If you had been told that a European achieved such would you have doubted this much?

There have been instances of gifted children/prodigies but it is a very rare occurrence in Nigeria.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Child_prodigy

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_child_prodigies

I am happy for this good news coming out of Nigeria.

Ordinarily, it is difficult to believe that at her age, she is already in JSS I, but that is the reality. During her primary education, particularly when she was between classes 2 and 4, she had double promotion. At that time she was at the Baptist Day School. That was between 2008 and 2009. That was where she also completed her education.
Please note: We Nigerians can learn a lot form her parents. They are devoted Muslims but they put her in a christian primary school. We should learn to throw religious and tribal sentiments away and make choices that will be most beneficial for the betterment of all.

@poster,
I believe you are not telling us the real story. You simply are just telling us the part that suits you.

The reason why he is acting that way is that he is disappointed in you about something he can not figure out yet. He is only acting out what is troubling him in his sub conscious.

Unless you coaxed him into marrying you or he is on some strong drugs (not even marijuana), no man ever acts like that within the first few years of a marriage that he intentionally went into.

And you say he beats you? Have you learned not to raise your voice or hand at him under any circumstance? Once again, Unless you coaxed him into marrying you or he is on some strong drugs (not even marijuana), no man ever hits anybody who doesn't raise voice or hand against him.

Also importantly, you have just very few post with your ID as if you are new on Nairaland. I think you have an older Nairaland ID and you are ashamed of people contrasting what you are experiencing now with you old Nairaland character. So that they don't say "that serves you right".

I do not support wife/anybody beating. But please tell us the full story so that we can give you real advise.

It's like most of you ladies don't get the OP's main point. He only gave his opinion and advice to other men not to be deceived by a woman's outward indicators of success. That you can find happiness by looking beyond the mask of socioeconomic status that women (and of course men as well) put on.

IMO, some women are just not good wife materials (i.e they can not really make a man's life happy). Now,many factors can cause that besides the woman's socioeconomic quest/status.

His former gf was not a good wife material. He searched for the reason and found that it was due to her financial quest/status. That is his opinion about his gf and I also agree with him. However, he went too far by generalizing it.

Nobody is against a woman's socioeconomic quest but when such makes you to become less feminine, you gotta slack up a little. What is the value of a woman who can not prepare delicious meal and have delicious sex with me huhI will rather hang out with fellow guys.

Most of our women are now also buying this romantic western culture dummy of what a relationship/marriage should be like. They are forgetting that divorce rates in the western world is much higher (now approaching 50%) than here.
www.divorcerate.org/

Marriages are happier and still last longer in places where the wife prepares delicious meal and have delicious sex with her husband. If a woman can combine that with her socioeconomic quest.Good ! Moderation is the name of the game.

Men love food and sex and nothing's gonna take that away.
