lagerwhenindoubt: ^^^ benefits to mankind and nature in general? that is a tricky question but what i can point out is this There are other questions about Life that still remain a mystery to modern civilization I reason that a huge percentage of our daily living (at least 80-90%) originates from our sub-conscious e.g Ambition, Behavior, Character, Personality, Will, Thought, Dreams etc
1: Astral Travel allows one a peek at the workings of the sub-conscious mind and understand how it affects us on a personal level. 2: It also helps you (at least for me) understand the origin of weird dreams you have (Fear, Worry, Expectations etc)
I admit I have not grasped enough of the "Astral World" to theorize my hypothesis but it is a start. Thank you very much for your responses.More inputs from your personal experience are welcome. |

@lagerwhenindoubt, thank you very much for the response. i really appreciate the way you picked on the questions, one at a time. what i can conclude from your response is that it is just an altered state of consciousness similar to transposition in music.it is the same music but you now hear it differently or if scaled up/down many octaves and the frequency goes beyond audio frequency (20Hz to 20KHz),you don't hear it anymore but it is still playing.
You can also compare it to color or frequency filter in physics/electronics. it blocks out certain colors/frequencies and makes you to perceive things differently but really nothing changed. |

VALIDATOR: @poster, you and your sister have a problem and you immediately conclude that it is spiritual ? there is nothing spiritual about sudden persistent fear.since it is you and your sister,it may be due to a common set of experiences you had in the past that has just been released for realization (something like post hypnotic suggestion).please see your doctor to recommend a good psychologist or psychiatrist for you. if you are in Lagos, try yaba-left.it is a psychiatic hospital and has helped many people with worse conditions than yours.you are just merely having a feeling that somebody is monitoring you but some people actually see and hear somebody monitoring them.
However,as i am suspecting, you will prefer to pay the so called spiritual leaders who offer nothing but hope while the problem remains. @olangela, I already summarized your mindset with the bold print above. Magha must pay ! All the same,i wish you the best. |

@lagerwhenindoubt, very interesting and eye opening post !!! you and a certain mrbrownjay are 2 people i have a lot of respect for on NL. here are my comments on the foregoing:
1 from your explanations,it is an altered state of consciousness and not necessarily that a soul is traveling somewhere.could this be another form of hypnotism? 2 when you consciously will things, they are formed e.g ur third-leg. could this be another form of hypnotism?
++++++ more ++++ 3 is it possible to visit a place you have never physically been to or seen in picture or video and know exactly how it is physically and describe it to those that can validate it.? that will be the prove that there is another form of man (called soul) and it is capable of traveling to places unknown to man. 4 is it possible to see inside the your own or someone else's body and see internal organs or fetus to know of anomaly or baby's gender as can be validated by xray or ultrascan equipments to validate that you saw the right things and not just making them up? 5 is it possible that if more than one person astral travels they will "see" one another in the astral plane? |

@lagerwhenindoubt, Nice to hear that you are telling us that you have personally done it. I am particular about this because some people just read Rampa,Klemp, abdrushin, validivar, lewis, etc and start telling us like it is something they have actually validated through personal experience. I always assume it is like the story of Ali that I read in elementary school. Ali claimed to be wearing an invisible jacket that can only be seen by righteous people and many people including the king and his cabinet claimed to be seeing it. Ali then understood a lot about the human nature and profited a lot from it because he had no invisible jacket at all !!!
Please can you answer the following questions 1 During your astral journey(s), "where" did you go? 2 What "form" of you went on the journey? 3 Were you still bound to time? I mean did things play out in the 4 dimensions (x,y,z and time) of our "normal" universe.
I have more to ask but please kindly answer the 3 questions. |
Christianity Etc › Re: THE SPIRITUALITIE OF THE SNAKE by VALIDATOR: 2:58pm On Oct 11, 2010 |
When most dangerous animals attack, they do it violently and mostly noisily but the snake most likely is quiet and dangerous and unlike most dangerous animals, can easily be found in residential areas. It may have been this realization that made ancient civilizations all over the world to attach the title "invisible but dangerous enemy" to the snake.
So,it was revered because it was an enemy that had easy access to you,is quiet and can harm you. However, recent knowledge has made us to know that vectors and pathogens are quieter enemies that kill more people worldwide than snakes. Hence, there is really nothing mysterious about snakes or scorpions for that matter. |

chiteny: WOW !!
I never thought i would contribute to this tithe thing. But i am provoked to after rerading through this thread from the begining till now i am writing. I see so many funny posts like "God taking His 10% from the source and the rest that comes to you is your 90%" This is not the best approach. If you don't want to pay your tithes please do not decieve yourself by adopting this method. Don't pay outrightly and live with your conscience that way.
Now to my own contribution. A quote from newmi, "And then in the new testament that scenerio was re-ecoed in Hebrews 7:1-2, "1 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; 2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace""
This is just a mention of an event that happened in the old testament and not a statement affirming the fact that we are supposed to pay our tithes.
I had to put up this quote as it is the norm for many "men of God" to quote a scripture of the bible for thier own benefit. Honestly i am yet to see any place in the new testament that say we should pay out "tenth" or tithe to the church, be it money or food stuff.
Now, you all must know that i pay my tithe even if i am sounding like i am against tithe paying. i have payed it right since my secondary school (as many pastors would encourage people to do, even if your mummy dash you N10, you must pay N1 tithe). But i pay my tithe not because i feel it is compulsory, but because i see it as my contribution to the work of God through my church. I am at liberty to use the 10% (more or less) to buy gifts or give it outrightly to the poor or needy or widows or those in prison if i want to.
In view of this, I buy the idea of singili who says he/she would be giving 10% to the less previleged. but bros mind the way you say "God Damn Churches". leave the churches to God to damn. just do what u know is right.
JPworld you are taking things to the extreme if i may say. You need God in your life. All the wealth in this world cannot offer to you what God can offer to you. So even if you don't pay tithes, please acknowledge God in all you do. Reverence, fear and worship Him.
i am open to critics and criticism. i will reply you in due course. I clearly stated that God has never complained. So why are you here helping him to do that? |

Validator says: The problems seems to come when after receiving the money from God I am reluctant to pay Him back 10% out of it.The sharing formula is God gives me 100%, out of it I give Him back 10% and the remaining 90% is mine. I solved that problem.I told God to deduct His 10% from source since he is the one giving me the money in the first instance and I assume that whatever gets to me is my 90%. By so doing,I no longer run a risk of "robbing" God. aktunde: Though I am a Christian, yet I found it very difficult not to laugh at that. Just look at the wisdom of men! Well, I'm aware that in the last days, the wisdom of men would be so much beyond imagination. I see it on the innovations of men, and I see it in their rationalities too. Logically, you are right but
10% from source, lol. Is God your Human Resources Manager, employer or accountant? @aktunde, God has never complained since the time I started using that approach. |

kITA TITA: Fully agree. The essential thing in tithing/giving is willingness. It should not be for the promise of heaven or threats of hell. It pains me to see pepper sellers who spot rubber slippers contribute to the opulent lifestyle of the pastors. Don't those pastors have hearts? How could they see in the tinted SUV with Police escorts or when they fly in the private jets. Children of the poor who contributed to build their elitist schools can't not afford the fees. Are these what Christ would have done or what he would have sought to destroy? The only time humans willingly do evil without feeling the associated guilt is when they have a supposed religious basis for it. |
