@MrBrownJay, Please look at it this way: The effect piracy has on the Nigerian music industry is quite different from that of the movie industry. In music if your work is pirated and duplicated en-mass,you will become more popular and will be called more for live shows. What you can not gain in CD sales you will gain in live performances. But in movies, the money depends almost sticktly on CD/DVD sales. Here is a quick math: For a movie that costs 40M naira to produce,if you sell each original CD at 200 naira you will need to sell 200,000 copies to break even but the pirates will break even by selling less than a thousand pirated CDs at 100 naira each because of their much lower cost of production. They will quickly outsell you.Yet,you must fulfill your obligation to the banks. If the law of the land can not help you the only solution will then be to try minimizing your risk by doing it on low budget. My point: If the government is aware that the industry is big and a very important revenue generator for Nigeria, why is that industry not well protected like the banking and oil sectors? NOTE:I am also pissed off when I see the same story line and poor quality in almost all Nigerian movies but then, good stories are a product of a well protected intellectual property and also good quality comes when the law makes it easy for you and not your enemies to reap the fruits of your labor. |

There can not be quality when anti-piracy laws are weak. Why should you spend all your bank loan to shoot a movie when someone can easily duplicate en-mass and sell cheaper than you? First, there is a need to respect intellectual properties. We can then move forward from there. |
A man beats his wife because he is unable to control his temper.Uncontrollable temper doesn't develop overnight. It must have been there all along before the wedding. It was her choice to marry such a man may be because of other stuffs she was getting from him.She should learn that "you can't eat your akara and still have it". |
It happened in the city and this is not on CNN and BBC?If na bad news from one remote village dem for don broadcast am. Very good news.Though it will be very good to mention the names of the actual Nigerian scientists involved so that we can be sure they are actually Nigerians and not some foreigners working in IITA. |
Speechless ! |
^^^ Seems you didn't get my point.No problem.Ride on. |
r231:If you are not an eye witness, you need to tell us your source(s) of information. |
Olumogun:All the commentators just made a simple assumption that it is a wife that can reject love advances and not the other way. Quote the OP's entire post and please show me where s/he told us her/his gender. My point: S/He is not bold enough to declare his/her gender. How can a spouse still be attracted to such a person? If he is male,he is NOT being masculine enough. If she is female, she is not being feminine enough. That attitude is a quick turn off. |
Fellow NAIRALANDERS, how can I stop this constant response from my spouse.@OP, From your post you didn't directly state whether you are male or female. You used words like "spouse, partner, etc not wife/husband. That says a lot about the real root of your problem. |
desgiezd:Classic !!! |
IBEXY:Thanks a lot.I already did the search before posting.I just needed the user to realize that he omitted something that is very important when giving a report. |
@OP, Please what is the source of this information? |
It is not religion itself that caused the widespread poverty in black africa, rather it is the role they allow religion to play in their day-to-day activities. They allow religion to rub them of their power of objectivity. |
@amuki, You are probably going through a lot of emotional pains right now. Do you need help? or Do you need pity?Help and pity are 2 different things.Pity is all these "take heart, may God see you through" and all its derivatives.Help is you seeing a professional to solve the problem. Can you spell out the problem? @mazaje and rhino.3dm, please be soft on him.it is not easy to be in the OP's position. |
if america was so bent on speaking and writing english the exact way england does there will be no american english today.maybe also america would not have been as great. It's hi time we learned to focus on what gets the job done rather that sticking to some colonial era pattern of thinking. the meaning of "it is not easy to carry second" is understood by virtually every nigerian including the poster.that is good communication. |
Beaf:Couldn't have said it better. |
This is a topic that is very dear to me. We first need to understand that what we are getting is a result of what was put into the system. Our attitude toward learning and ability to accept and co-ordinate facts and reject irrelevancies is greatly tied to our culture. No matter how much we play electronic games or how long we spend schooling,we still have our culture to contend with. The Nigerian (and indeed the whole of sub-sahara African) culture is a culture that is yet to evolve to a level where people are able to co-ordinate facts and reject irrelevancies. The Indian culture is just there.European culture has been there since long time ago. A very simple example is this recent thread https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-489655.0.html From the thread, you see that fact-finding about burundanga is not at all expensive but people chose to be ignorant. That is our culture. NOW,THE SOLUTION Our Educational System is just too overloaded with too many unhelpful irrelevancies to cram.It should be re-designed. Elementary Education -- Children should be trained on how to observe and accurately report their observation. Secondary Education-- Children should be trained on how to draw facts from observations reported by others. Tertiary Education -- Children should be trained on how to draw facts from and work with abstract concepts. |
@poster, Did you use mercenary/special center for your SSCE and JAMB?If you actually used to brain power to get into the university you will be able to know what has been distracting you from having a good academic performance. Nairaland has other sections that are directly related to your problem but you posted this in the fashion section. That teaches me something else about you. |
Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Nigerians !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 Even when something has been proven to be a hoax you still chose to believe it ![]() ??Is there any hope for this country? |
clem2love:You just confirmed my point about anxiety. You feel the problem is complex and the solution that I suggested is just too simple. But it works well and that is all that matters. Your case is not new.You get erection but e.jaculate too quickly. The solution lies in the fact that E.jaculation and rapid erratic breathing are mutually dependent on each other. This means if you can control one, then you automatically are controlling the other. All you need to do is to pay some attention to and control your breathing while making love. |
You shoot your gun too quickly. It is called premature ejaculation.Mainly caused by anxiety.Unfortunately anxiety is not easily controlled. The easy way to control yourself from shooting your gun too quickly is to control your breath while your p.enis is in her v.agina. As a man you would have noticed that when you are just about to loose control and shoot your gun, your breathing becomes very rapid and erratic. So breathe at a constant pace to gain control and also importantly let you p.enis movement in and out of her v.agina correspond to your breathing. Note:You do not need drugs/herbs.The solution is in your mind. I hope it helps. |
It is a hoax that has been around for a while. http://www.hoax-slayer.com/burundanga-warning.shtml http://www.snopes.com/crime/warnings/burundanga.asp http://urbanlegends.about.com/od/crime/a/burundanga.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scopolamine Once again poster, nice post, thanks for your concern but please note that there is difference between credible information and hoax. You should confirm stuffs before posting them here. |
@emerssy, Nice post but please what is the source of your information? Any link to a credible source?Or just rumor? |
@jesu orobo, I do not think any school will accept you straight for a Masters Degree. You may be asked to first go through a graduate diploma (often called pgd). You did not specify your course of study.Neither did you tell us your career goal.It is difficult to give you advice now that you have given us very little information. Please tell us more. |
Very Nice.Lol |
faithin9ja:Because the people there are already in heaven and do not need to be preached to further. ![]() |
alexleo:I think that statement applies more to you. |
angelllla:I didn't even see your post before posting mine. I experience the same thing everyday too in my area. |
If this were a christian governor banning mosques from broadcasting noise, yawa for don gass. Meanwhile,I will like to see this law in action.By the way, what penalty goes to anyone who breaks this law? I will also suggest that all mosques should stop broadcasting the noise that they start at 5am calling fellow muslims to come and pray.Such noise was introduced about 15 centuries ago and is now absolutely unnecessary in the 21st century since each family can set alarm on their own phone or clock to wake them up. If however some people wanna claim that it's not every family that can afford an alarm clock/phone then why the ffuck should you serve a God that can not provide you with just a cheap clock/phone? |
^^^ You really should be banned for your extremely high degree of ignorance. How dare you say the catholic pope is/will be in hell when you don't even have any knowledge of the basic catholic believes? Please understand that YOU ARE DELUSIONAL. |
^^^^ Yes it is.I was actually developing such an application but along the line I STOPPED. I realized some other problems will be introduced simply because there is no existing database of all Nigerians and their activities to be used as a reference when legal tussles arise. The success of any such app greatly depends on reference/history of the person to fall back on it when the situation arise. |
