Alexgman1: At childhood we all have that dream career we wished and aspired to become at adulthood.
Some of us wanted to become a doctor, nurse, pharmacist, radiologist, surgeon, engineer, banker, economist, agriculturist, politician, pilot, journalist, athlete, pastor, fashion designer, educationist, scientist, a soldier, navy, airforce, e.t.c.
As for me my childhood dream career was to become a PILOT but today am an ECONOMIST.
What about you? A barrister at law |

Literature › Re: Perfect For Us by VanillaIyce(f): 1:59pm On Apr 06, 2021 |
KimberlyWest: Pearl rummaged her wardrobe for the 'perfect' dress. She had just ended the call with her best friend Diane, who asked her to quickly dress up that she sent someone to pick her from her apartment.
Diane didn't mention what the occasion was but she told her to dress sexily that it was something special. She didn't argue, she knew Diane to be exactly that way; springing surprises up on people every time without minding their schedule or mood.
Five minutes into the search, she found the dress. A knee length black gown that hugged her curves just perfectly.
"This is it, baby!" she said, triumphantly.
She wore the dress and walked to the mirror. "Well," she turned around so she could see her back. "this is sexy." she concluded.
Pearl couldn't help but admire herself in the black dress, it was tight with a little opening that showed a little of her cleavage and did justice to the sexy look and all of her curves.
Soon, she heard the loud honk outside the apartment. "That is for me, I guess."
She hurriedly picked her purse, phone and walked out.
"Range?" This must be really special then, she thought as she admired the white and sparkling new looking Range Rover parked outside the apartment.
If it's not new then the owner must be a freak for neatness, she thought quietly.
Diane rolled with 'em rich guys but for her to send a Range Rover which looked like a 2019 model, to pick Pearl showed it must be really special.
Diane had the habit of sending people to pick her up whenever there was an event or a hangout. When they first became friends, Diane offered to buy her a car but she declined, she preferred to 'hustle' and get her things herself, so she wouldn't look like a welfare kid or feel like she was in a parasitic relationship with Diane. She was the type that liked to bring different things to the table and not take any, simply put, she preferred being a giver to a receiver. Pearl wondered what it might be to warrant a Range, it had always been Camry.
She momentarily racked her brain. Her birthday? No way. Diane's birthday was still like eight months away.
What could it be? She wondered as she walked to the car.
It had tinted glasses. She couldn't see who was in it. She tapped gently on the window of the driver's side.
Who ever was inside, gently wound down the glass and poked out his head.
The sight that met her was dazzling.
A drop dead gorgeous, sweet prince staring at her with his big beautiful eyes, eyes that stared directly into her soul, eyes that she wouldn't mind looking at for the rest of her life.
"Pearl?" he asked.
She instantly fell in love with her name again. The way it sounded and the way his lips was shaped when he called it, was out of this world, it looked like he was blowing kisses her way and the voice? It sounded like something just out of Broadway. She couldn't even answer, she found herself drooling with eyes wide open.
"I'm sorry, are you Pearl?"
"Uhm, ye...yeah." She finally found her voice and bowed her head in embarrassment.
"I'm sorry, why were you staring like that? Were you expecting someone else?" he asked, creasing his brows.
She bit her lower lip nervously. She was already dying from embarrassment and the guy just added salt to injury by talking about the issue.
Now, she just wished the ground would just open up and swallow her.
"If you're Pearl then hop in let's go or we'd be late."
She nodded obediently and opened the car and slide in at the back right behind him.
He turned and gave her a puzzled look and then shrugged. Moment later, he drove off at top speed.
Even as he drove and hummed to Flavour's song, Wiser, Pearl still couldn't speak. She was too embarrassed to even think of starting a conversation with him.
"...Eh, eh eh, agam adikwa zi nu wiser ye. Girl I will be wiser. I gotta be a little clever yeh Girl I will be clever ye. Agam adikwa si nu wiser ye. I gotta be a little sharper le..."
She quickly made a mental note to stop spending her whole weekends indoors with her laptop and start going out more. If she was the outgoing type, she certainly wouldn't have embarrassed herself in that manner. At least she would have boasted of meeting cuter guys than he.
"Who are you to Diane? I know she wouldn't make me drive all the way from Olive park to here if you're not really close to her." He started.
Mr. Drop dead gorgeous was talking to her.
Waow! She struggled to find her voice. "Uhm..."
Just say it and stop embarrassing yourself, her inner voice chided
"I'm her best friend."
"Wow." he breathed out, obviously that wasn't the answer he was expecting. "How come I don't see you around?"
She fidgeted. How could she start explaining to a total stranger that she preferred her laptop and movies to any outdoor activity. Or how she preferred to work extra time than hang out with Diane and her other 'plenty' friends.
Seeing that she wasn't about to respond to his last question, he continued. "I'm sorry. Forgive my manners. I'm Soma, as in short for Somadina."
Her eyes literally popped out from their sockets. Somadina as in an Igbo name, like igbo, east of Nigeria? She definitely wasn't expecting that. She would never have guessed he was even a Nigerian.
"You don't look like an Igbo guy." She said, instead of continuing the conversation with herself.
His eyes left the road and focused on her...for a second though. He smiled and her heart melted. He had the most beautiful smile she had ever seen since her 23 years on planet earth.
"Well, mum is from Canada and dad is from Enugu state. They met when he went to Canada for his masters. They always tell me it was love at first sight."
"Wow. That's nice to hear."
She found herself wishing she was him. Call it envy or jealousy but she wished she had Soma's kind of parents. He was so lucky to have such parents even though he would never know.
It was truly nice to hear that parents talk about such things with their kids. In her house it wasn't like that. Instead of love and laughter what they got was nagging from mum and hissing from dad. Pearl had been all too glad when she was sent to a boarding school in her JS1. Since then she had stayed away from home as much as possible, her mum's nagging wasn't a pleasant thing to watch or hear.
"Diane never told me she had a beautiful and modest friend like you."
She blushed.
He suddenly pulled to a stop. "Pearl, just come over to the front. I really don't like how you're sitting at my back like some sort of stranger." Oh! She thought inwardly. That was definitely why he gave her that long stare the moment she entered the car.
"Technically, we are strangers." She countered. This time she did it boldy, she was no longer intimidated by his cute face...maybe just a little.
Yes! She inwardly hailed herself "I should go out more often and meet cute guys" she thought.
"No, we are not." Soma's voice brought her out of her reverie.
"We are!"
"I don't think so. I know your name, you know mine and for heaven's sake, I like you and you like me too."
Lord, the guy is really bold, she thought to herself.
To be continued I like this, can you continue please? |
Romance › Re: 3 Weeks To Our Wedding, I Feel Like Calling It Off by VanillaIyce(f): 1:37pm On Apr 06, 2021 |
PERVENCHE: *NOTE With all due respect, I have changed names and some too familiar details about myself out of respect for my wife to be. I know she likes to catch cruise on nairaland.
My name is Friday (of course not my real name) I am from the middle-belt. So please save your tribalism with all those una Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa insults. I met Grace(my wife to be) few years ago. It was love at 1st sight. She was everything and is still everything I had hoped a woman should be. There is this crass about her that makes her effortlessly better than any lady around her. My type in the true sense of the word. Tall, busty, curvy, sassy, elegant, personable and above all, she has a graceful soul. From the 1st date to this day, I still pinch my self like.. What in God's green earth is a beauty like her doing with a shrek like me.
But then, true perfection is always a utopia. Grace in all her graceful demeanour and aura, has a flaw; Indecision! More so, blind trust seems to be her albatross. (I swear she can even take Lai Muhammad's word to the bank) Though, I still love her; flaws and all. Her complete or should I say blind trust for me and Abigail became one of the reasons Abigail(her younger sister) has become an unending chapter in our relationship. Even though the blame of what happened squarely falls on me.
Abigail just shy off 20, is too savvy for her age. Not the outright outstanding beauty like my Grace. What ever little she lacks in beauty, she more than makes up for it in her mentality. For she is truly a smart and an intelligent girl. Just five years younger than Grace. One who expect them at least to be close and be like Asaba and Onisha but then...they are the direct opposite of each other. While Grace is the introverted shy person, Abigail is quite the extrovert and likes to make friends for Africa. It is only fair to believe their formative time in secondary school played a part in their output towards life. Grace likes to conform like most day school students. Abigail on the other hand, is the boarding school nightmare all parents hope not to experience: the deviant.
Through the 1st years we dated, Abigail was in secondary school and was never in the picture. For some odd or strange reason, Grace was not ready to fully commit. Not that I blame her or something. At 23, Most girls her age are like Alice in wonderland; they crush on celebrities and Chase childhood dreams and fantasies. The vile ones, if truth be told...tend to live out their hoė phase. At 28, I was already grounded to know what I wanted and it was Grace and marriage. Sometimes, you do all you can do but then life has a way of throwing in a curveball. More over, "No be say because I wan chop egg I go begin dey worship chicken." Sensing her shakara, I pulled the hand brakes on us and walked out of the relationship.
***2 years later*** Fortunately or unfortunately after letting go, Grace became incensed and started to want me back. I hardly do any social media at this point. Pride won't let her call me, so there was no way to send coded messages on whatsapp status to me. Being the introvert that she is and the all trusting graceful Grace, she started to send Abigil over to my place to bridge the gap. In just over two years, Abigail had changed and developed into a sexy hippie bohemian. Not that I fancy her in any erotic way or something. It's just that in our contemporary naija society where mostly everyone conforms, it is hard not to notice a bohemian.
Knowing I would do no better than Grace even with a million dollars and in a hundred years of searching, I mended fences with Grace and our relationship became stronger than ever. Over time, Abigail became a bridge between us. At first, Grace would send her over to run errands for her. After a while, it became a second nature for her to come over and fidget with my electronics. Courtesy demands you be nice to your in-laws to be and so I was nice to Abigail.
Abigail's posturing over time made it difficult for me to say no to her especially during them Nengi and Laycon days in the house. She was a fan of big brother lockdown. And would always ask for my keys to watch the silly show for she was equally as silly to be gushing over that vanity fair. Grace seems not have any issues with her coming over and I also did not for I was hardly home and God knows the sub was kinda wasting away.
There are some things in life that are not planned. They just happen! My boss at work then tested positive for Covid and we were all asked to quarantine at home. Grace still had to go to work while Abigail was always free because of the ASSU strike. Suddenly, I started to be alone with Abigail. She would come over "for big brother" around 9am and leave around 7pm in time to beat her curfew at home. It was awkward staying all day with Abigail. Grace too predictable, only comes over on Sunday. For some strange reasons, on Sundays, Abigail will never show up.
There were times, and I am sure it could just be my imagination, that she enjoyed teasing me. She would come dressed like a sister Mary Amaka from home but after a while, she would take her bath and transform into a Kardashian. Wearing skimpy cloths and heavy make-up. I tried to give her her space. I was in quarantine and therefore, had practically no where to go. I am basically the type that don't flock with co-workers and I hardly keep any friends except for Grace. I am not one to be neighbourly with my neighbours so I was stuck with Abigail all day. Humans are social animals and we tend to gravitate towards each other especially when we are alone with someone. Gradually, she won me over and I started to watch the big brother show with her. While she was rooting for Nengi after her Erica left, I was simply for Neo for he had my height. And the bond between us grew. God knows I had no vile motives and evil intentions. It is hard not to enjoy Abigail's company for she is a smart, gleeful and witty girl. While I do all the talking with Grace, Abigail on the other hand does all the talking with me and it was a welcome change.
*** D Day *** It became obvious Abigail was not telling the truth at home. She would pick their calls and tell them she was in her female friend's house. And in the spirit of our new found big brother bond. We kept the secret. On this faithful day, it had rained all day and Nepa had struck and the plug in my generator was no good. The rain had brought with it a cool breeze and some magical thunder. Seemingly, we could not watch our show so I took a blanket because of the cold and buried my attention on my PC (laptop) re-watching season 5 of the game of thrones.
Naively, Abigail joined me and entered the blanket with me. I use the word 'naive' because I honestly do not want to qualify her as a minx. And I know she does not see me as a Justine Bieber of a crystal ball for her to be drooling at. While in that warm blanket watching the movies in such compromising position, One thing led to another and alot of that one thing opened up her Pandora's box and I... I ate the most forbidden fruit there ever was. There is no telling how wonderful making love to her was at the heat of the moment and there's no shame in the world that equates to the shame that immediately dwell and still dwells in my soul shortly after even to this day. There's a lot to blame our mistake and betrayal on. Could it just be the moment? the weather? the chemistry? the devil? (laughs) my opportunistic habit? Her feminine warmth in such close proximity? my placing a hand on her thigh and meeting no resistance? My foggy mind and grown erection? Her racing and panting heart? Her feisty zeal and deviant nature? My libido? Hers? My morals? Buhari? Herdsmen? IPOB? Sunday Igbahor? Dstv and big brother? NEPA? Game of thrones? Was she after all really a minx? In all fairness, she is just a little naive girl that does not deserve to be pilloried for my betrayal. As the adult, I should have known better and acted a lot better.
Climbing down from our lustful climax, we both knew immediately what we had done, the gravity and the implications it could have on not just us, but grace and the whole family. In the most contrite way possible, we apologized to ourselves and vowed never to repeat it again. We felt it would be better not to tell Grace or anyone and we agreed Abigail would stop coming over. I started to avoid Abigail at all cost. I did not just release cum after my despicable act with Abigail, I released every thing good in me and every form of happiness. I felt much less of a man and wished I had died as a child or better still was aborted.
I hardly could face Grace after. The more I try to ghost her, the more she held on tightly. It became awkward visiting their family house for I was not comfortable around them trusting and accepting me. Not for the fear that they would find out...just my conscience eating me up. I stayed away and made peace with my gross mistake. For over six to seven months. I did my penance and nothing happened with Abigail. I know I am in a better place now to make sane decisions about cheating. To give something back to Grace, I have vowed never to sleep with anyone till die. We know how cheating amongst married men is common these days. I no call Adekule Gold name oh!
Me and Grace are set to marry on the 17th of this April. The thing is...Abigail is her chief bridesmaid and preparation demands I see her most times. She still has a look in her eyes...dunno what to make of it. A look of blackmail? Of you could still hit it if you want? We have unfinished business kinda look? You should be paying a bride price for two look? I die inside every time I see Grace happy she again got us back to talking terms because of the wedding. Ignorance is truly bliss.
I have doubts going through with this wedding. Folks may laugh and say I chickened out because of the inflation and money, others might blame Grace. It may ruin Grace for ever. How do I do this knowing Abigail will always be family? Concise English, articulate write up, nothing is hidden forever, you should have told grace before now, then let her hurt, forgive and continue with you if she so will..now if you walk down the isle without letting her know still, what happened between you and ...what is her sister's name again will always be hanging over you and keep you open to blackmail and you could still loose this marriage. Tell the truth before the marriage and what will be will be. |

NiceMen: Hello,
I will like guys to share their experience dating Nigerian broke girls from poor homes.
I personally have had an awful experience with them and from observations, most have identical patterns in handling relationships, which is why I vowed after the last one never to go near anyone again. Yup...I told the last girl to her face that I do not want to go near any girl from her kind of background till I die.
Things I noticed about them are that they are often greedy, selfish, self-centered, unaffectionate, exploitative, and money-focused. Most do not even call.
Are my observations correct?
However, I do not want to conclude but will like to hear from others in order to be certain that I am not stereotyping or generalizing.
What Has Been Your Experience Dating Nigerian Girls From Poor Homes? They are not always like that. |

handsomeyitayo: When it comes to calling or chatting with ladies, why is it that they lack phone Etiquettes or chat Etiquettes
This is common in their response..
" Who is this? " " Who are you"? " Can't you introduce yourself? " I will block you, if you don't introduce yourself.
Many things like that...
I read a thread concerning a lady that loose her Job via phone interview due to lack of phone Etiquettes..our ladies are somethings else. There is this lady a friend gave me her number to call or chat with to get some information and facts on an assignment. That same day I gave her a call and next thing I see is , who are you? What do you want? Before I tried to Introduce myself , she utters those words on phone..I got upset and hang the call.. Even on WhatsApp too, some of them .. you don't know if that maybe the stranger is sent by God to help you , you don't know..
This ego of pride is becoming alarming to some girls or ladies.. If I noticed that in any lady I met, I do ignore them because I know they can be abusive in a relationship..I don't move with those kinds of ladies that are proud..
And another thing is feeling bossy ,forming All those shit....bla bla bla blaa..
Go to Europe meet their ladies ,see impressive response..
You: hello She: hi
You: Can I join you? If you don't mind She: yes of course,
She will be more interested to conversate with you..
But our Nigeria Ladies... You: Hello She: no reply, looking in a kinda manner You: sister She: can I help you? You: can I talk to you, if you don't mind She: what... With frowning face..
I know you guys might encountered this....

Welcum: Don't worry about that. On an open forum like this, you will always meet people with ALL sorts of characters. If someone sees all Nigerian girls as useless and is not ashamed to say it on an open forum, it's only because the person who said so is useless. However, we can't also deny the fact that many Nigerian girls have excesses that they need to curb: like being in relationships for money (which is prostitution in style]. Honestly, guys have mothers and sisters, I am sure they won't want to regard theirs as stupid or useless.plus guys should always go for what they can handle. You can't see a woman who is not working living expensive life which you know you cannot afford and carry love to her, then when she turns you down or expects you to match up to her standard, you cry gold digger but they see decent girls and be finding a touch of ashawo in her. |
Romance › Re: I Need An Advice ASAP! What Do You Think Please? by VanillaIyce(f): 5:48am On Mar 13, 2021 |
DonSmith123rr4: So i met this babe in January 2020, we started getting along, she visited and went but in March during Covid 19 Lock-down, i told all my staff to work from home which most of them ignored. She came visiting and due to the lock-down locked down with me. She began to assist me in some works like taking calls, sending mails and so many, then I realized that she had talent in customer care and gave her job in my company as a customer care support. Meanwhile she had a job that was paying her 55k as a chef but i offered her 70k then she accepted.
Then i noticed she doesn't want to go back to her sister's house where she used to stay but i let her live with me because she was adding value by working with me not just the girls kind of occupying a man's house. Along the stay i saw her pushing in love and to become more than what we were, i decided to confirm her genotype before i could reciprocate since am AS and must settle with AA to avoid SS saga, but disappointingly her result came out AS as well . I tried all my best for her to see reasons why we can't be together as husband and wife but she refused to take it referring back to our parents who got married without knowing their genotype and still lived fine.
Well we continued staying together and me pretending like i was happy because she's really doing her job in my office. Whenever we are mating, she complains that condom is painful and going fresh then pulling out to cum is maltreating her cos that is when she cums too and enjoys it more (wahala). Truth be told, we aborted twice till the 3rd time when we found out about an unborn baby genetic test which cost 300k to confirm the genotype of your baby.
Meanwhile before the 3rd pregnancy, i had to get her a conducive and luxury mini flat of 700k with total package of 1.3millions just for us to keep distance and for her to find a suitable AA suitor but shockingly, i never knew she was pregnant and decided to keep it to her self but surprisingly scan confirmed the baby's heartbeat stopped at 8 weeks which means the baby is dead and needs evacuation. We evacuated the baby last week and she as been acting weird because i have been denying her sex. Flashback to December 2020, i increased her salary from 70k to 100k starting January 2021 based on her new position as the company HR. Due to the stress and expenses getting her an apartment and furnishing it plus she has been spending from me on 100% of her personal expenses including tfare to work since we were still together before she moved to her apartment, I decided to pay her 50% of her january salary (50k) but shockingly to me she went gaga saying i have to pay her full payment and when i refused, she tendered a resignation letter.
Please I am yet to respond to her resignation letter because I am confused. WHAT DO YOU THINK
1. Sell my ego and plead with her which i believe is what she wants but the aftermath result wont be funny. 2. Accept her letter and retrieve all i got her from the apartment, interiors, phones, laptops, human hairs, designers, etc 3. Accept and let everything go After getting the advices, can I get the job? |

Very Educated Post that’s why i re-post it!!
I relocated to Canada through the express entry mode 2 years ago, one major advice I give everyone is follow all the steps laid down by Canada and you’ll be fine. When they say come with proof of fund of 6million naira for a family of 3, please try to get at least more than half of that money when landing, it’ll make life easier for you. I’ll be honest with my story by sharing breakdown of life and how we survived.
One important thing to note when relocating is give yourself one year to build your foundation, I can assure you that you’ll be fine. Another is not to be lazy or proud to do any odd job, as there is dignity of labour here.
This is my story from the day I landed:
We came with more than three-quarter of the recommended POF for a family of 3. From that money, we got an Airbnb where we stayed for 2 weeks, started house hunting, found something we liked and paid 3 months rent upfront (this is to reduce the tension of looking for job to pay bills).
In Canada, most times your experience is disregarded, so people go back to school, do certifications or anything to make your credentials equivalent to Canada’s. So we knew this and gave ourselves one year to work on that while we take up minimum wage jobs. We landed in October, my husband got a job at a warehouse In November, I’m lazy and didn’t have strength for all those tasking jobs of standing especially for cashiers in Walmart and malls, so I was searching for customer service job, and luckily I got a clerk job. My husband made 2,500 while I made 2,200. Together we brought in $4,700 monthly.
This is a breakdown of our expenses:
Rent – 1250
Home internet – 65
Power (NEPA) – 59
Phone bill for both of us – 110
Insurance for our car – 145
Total – 1,629.
We budgeted 1000 for groceries (this is a lot, but it was our budget). Our total expense came to 2,629. From the $2,071 left, we saved 1500 monthly and left the rest for miscellaneous (mostly for bulk purchase or to send money home to our folks, hang out with friends, shop once in a while etc.). By the way, there’ll hardly be any emergency where you have to spend your money on hospital bills etc. as medical is free here, education is free up till secondary school except for daycare.
We enrolled our daughter in a daycare that cost almost $1000 monthly. Govt of Canada pays kids up till 18years depending on household income something called child benefit. Our daughter got 560 monthly and another quarterly payment. The govt also pays daycare subsidy for each eligible child for 640 monthly. So since the govt paid 640 to the daycare on behalf of my daughter, I only paid the balance of 360. This was funded from her child benefit of 560. She had change of 200 which was paid into an account we opened for her.
Now this is our life as newly landed immigrants, while we were doing this, I was working on my HR certifications (I’m a HR professional), while my husband was studying online for his diploma. We were both studying and working.
While in naija, we earned well, we had savings of more than 300k monthly which we put away, in a year that gave us 3.6million. After house rent of almost 700k, hospital bills, (my daughter was a regular hospital visitor, sometimes we spent 50k, 100k in hospital bills). At the end of the year, we may have about 2m left in savings. Now go back to my monthly savings in Canada of 1500 per month which is about 18,000 Canadian dollars in a year, converted to naira, that’s almost 6million naira.
This is from people doing minimum wage jobs that included overtime o. it’ll be hard and stressful, combining studies and working is stressful. The stress from a physically demanding job can get to you, my husband was stressed for the first 3 months, back pain, neck and muscle strain etc. but we persevered, he was taken care of, he had regular massages, pain killers and ointment for joint pain but overtime he got used to it, he even moved from that role to a less demanding role.
Today, we’ve completed our studies, we’ve transitioned to professional jobs, and we have more than 4k monthly in savings from our income. You can actually have same expenditure every month as most bills are fixed, you can plan well, medical is free, nothing like emergency money for hospital bills. Unlike in naija, where we bought fuel everyday as per minister of power in our house, had 2 gens, repaired gen almost every 2 weeks, spent money on mechanics due to bad road and crazy drivers etc.
I have a friend earning more than a million per month in naija, he had an accident, had to be flown to Germany for surgery, sold some of his properties as the bill was mad, he lost that job because he was away for more than 2 years, his life never remained the same, he took the money left and relocated with his family (this is for people that keep saying if they earn millions, they won’t go anywhere), remember that in naija, an emergency can send you from grace to grass. If he were in Canada, his bills would have been free, he would have had employment insurance and be able to return to work.
The reason for this post is, please if you have the means and are eligible for express entry, please don’t be discouraged, I had friends that did security work, cleaning jobs while they were writing their bank certifications exams, to Nigerians, the jobs are degrading, but here nobody send you, our cleaner for office de drive range rover sef.
Today my friends have all transitioned to professional jobs. By the way I stay in Alberta where minimum wage is $15 per hour, so anyhow anyhow you must see like 2k take home job every month, and these minimum wage jobs are not hard to find, Walmart recruits everyday, stores, customer service jobs plenty just keep at it you’ll get one.
People are losing their jobs because of covid bla bla, very true, but like I said, are you lazy? My friend in HR was laid off in April, he jejely went to get a warehouse job and in September he got another HR role. Plenty things to do if you don’t get a job easily. My husband was doing something like uber, but this was like for food, you get to deliver online orders to people, he made like $200 every week (he didn’t do it full time, only on his off days). The money we got from selling our car in naija was kept differently for a car here, when we landed in winter we didn’t want to be carrying our then 1+ daughter up and down in the cold, so we got a car immediately (a small car of about $3,000).
Today we live in our home, doing far better, infact while on minimum wage we did far better than naija sef. Baby number two is on the way, everything is free, I’m getting the best medical attention, lots of freebies for pregnant mum lol.
To conclude, don’t let anyone discourage you from relocating, but do so legally, forget pride and take on minimum wage jobs while you look for professional jobs in your field. Don’t just sit around to wait for it to come, it took some people more than a year to get one, get busy, get certified and you’ll land one. Good thing is to be eligible for express entry, you must have relevant qualifications and experience so it’s easier to search for jobs with your certificate when you land.
By the way, a lot of people live comfortably on minimum wage jobs and never transitioned to professional jobs. This is very nice |
Romance › Re: What Is Your Love Language? by VanillaIyce(f): 7:11am On Mar 08, 2021 |
Toks2008: THE POWERFUL EFFECT OF LOVE LANGUAGE
When you hear the term love language what comes to your mind?... Let me guess... You probably think it is when you say or hear sweet things to or from someone you love but you are so very wrong..
Love language is that unique and peculiar way people expect to be treated for them to have a level of assurance that they are loved and the most complex twist to this is that every individual has a different love language and this is why you must meticulously find out the love language of the person you are with and not just assume you know.
OK let me make it simpler for you to understand by listing the different love languages we have.
1.Physical Touch: This is the love language of some people and no matter what you do for them, if this is lacking then you don't love them... If you like give them all the Diamonds in the world, as long as you don't touch them as often as they want, they will never feel loved and may Likely cheat on you with anyone who is ready to to communicate with them this way even if the person does not truly desire them.
2. Words of affirmation : This is the way some people understand love. Do whatever you think they love, if you don't tell them often how you love and appreciate them, they will fly away into the hands of anyone who will and even if the person is lying to them, they care less but just tell them often how special they are to you or how sweet they are and you are guaranteed their love and devotion.
3. Gifts: This is as straightforward as it sounds.. Just by some people gifts whether expensive or not and you have their love and devotion, to this group of people nothing else is as important as you buying them gifts from time to time and no matter what you do, to them they will never feel loved until they find someone who buys them gifts.
4. Quality time : This set of people care less about words of affirmation gift, or anything else but just spend time with them and I mean quality time and you have them loving you like puppies, this set of people are the type that complain of their lover not spending time with them even if they get the whole world from same person
5. Acts of service : This set of people just need you to be there for them in terms of rendering little assistance from time to time. This is their own love language and they will fall in love helplessly with anyone who is selfless enough to Render a helping hand even if you have nothing else to give them.
The Question now is.... "How do we know the love language of the person in our lives..."
The answer is very simple... ASK. don't assume.. Many of us know what makes our hearts melt so stop assuming and stop doing the wrong things cos no matter what you do, if you don't communicate with your significant other in the precise love language they love, you will only make them feel unloved and may likely lose them to someone who hits the right spot.
So when you hear your loved one complain to you that he or she does not feel loved by you regardless of all your efforts, please don't get confused, you are probably not using their love language to communicate with them. Once you get it right, you will definitely experience a whole new boost in your romance.
Hope this makes sense. 1-3 and the peace you will experience from me will be radiating. |
Romance › Re: Ladies Why? Why? Why? by VanillaIyce(f): 7:03am On Mar 08, 2021 |
bignero: Ladies have a question to ask.. A need clarity
I meet this lady in church.. Been seeing her always as shes an usher..
I decided to approach her.. . To my surprise she was quite cute from close distance (she wears those chromogrohic or something glasses, gets dark etc) so from distance you cant really seeher face from far..
Approached her.. We spoke, i really liked her.. Collected her number, conversation seemed to go well, i thought she liked me too from the way conversations went.
I messaged her during the week,(monday of first Sunday) she didn't response, she comes to church every Sunday.. Prior to talking to her, since she didn't respond to my WhatsApp.. I thought id ask her about that in person in church (the next week) she didn't show up.. Was really hoping to see her.. Called her the following week she picked and said she didn't come to church cos she was ill, said shed call me back.. Never called back.. Came to church last Sunday.. I asked her about her health and why she didn't reply messages said shes been busy.. But that i should call again, shed respond.. This Sunday was hoping to see her.. She didn't show, so i called her.. She said she went to another church, so shed call me later.. Till now no call..
I thought this lady liked me oo.. Ladies please interpret this attitude.. Cos i also really like this girl, but am not ready to be chasing etc.. Or she doesn't like me and i should not waste my time.. Abeg opinions..
Does she want me to chase her? Because shes not consistent in church like before.. Seeing i really dig her..
Or am just fooling myself The thing is she doesn't like you or let me say she doesn't want to be in a relationship with you, and for the giving out of number..that one is to avoid long talk of why don't you want to give me your number, last last you might get a block..so just leave her and save your emotions for the one that will reciprocate. |
Romance › Re: Five Reasons I Prefer Sex Workers To Regular Girls!! by VanillaIyce(f): 9:06pm On Mar 07, 2021 |
GeneralPula: You see this hookup/runs of a thing is addictive, just like weed..
Girls with finance issues are not the only ones doing hookup, some girls with rich background are inclusive.
I’ve met girls that started it just cuz they wanted to feel among, not money..
I’ve met girls that started it because they thought it’s something you can dive into and quit easily, after sometime..
I met a girl with a very rich background, I mean her famz are in USA. She didn’t know why she started hookup..
Some guys started smoking just cuz of similar reasons. They’ll try to quit but damnn, it usually very hard for majority..
Only 1 girl out of 10 can quit from runs and never get back at it again.. Even tho 7 out of 10 would wish but will find it hard..
So it’s a very risky something to risk emotional relationship with them. Odds of such ending in tears are 99.99%..
Sometimes I do feel very pained when I meet reasonable girls doing hookup.. It really must not be easy, but I had about people who changed for good and that was it. |
