kristikat: they should not know themselves, until the time is right........ babies are usually ADULT SPIRITS coming from heaven to live here, and experience this reality, if they see themselves too soon, they may fail in accomplishing what it is they came to do here, since they must first come here on a clean slate, or think this life is the only life there is to live, knowledge of them coming from some place else, may totally confuse them, and maybe make them forget why they came here... since they come here with a specific mission erasing all other memories, only with the purpose in mind..... Huh! "BUCK LOAD of CRAP! "

Murphy T: but surprisingly the was none this around, all motorist were forced to pass tru a narrow path which inturn caused a very terrible hold up...and this happens even in the evenings after close of work, i think de r driving at something, cos de roads r completed, itz so frustrating... ROAD COMPLETION is rather a relative word. After tarring of the road, which everyone else sees as total road completion, there are still some other minute jobs to be done to give the road a total finish. E.g. road marking, placing street warning signs, road electrification etc. JB could be doing any of these, which people wouldn't readily notice. But all the same, an alternate assess should have been provided to aid vehicular movement. I can feel ur frustration! |

CFCfan: ^^ Congratulations
The most important thing though, is to have a strong, national opposition party that can effectively challenge the PDP and offer bold, new radical ideas that would lift Nigeria from it's present state of anomie, to a state close to eldorado. Pat Utomi could be the architect of the new mega party's economic policy thrust; which should be the antithesis to PDP's IMF-approved policies. Its like u don't get it? From the beginning, the purpose of the merger is just to chase PDP out of power, that's all. NO BETTER AGENDA for MOVING THE NATION FORWARD. |

CFCfan: The three leading opposition political parties, the Action Congress of Nigeria, Congress for Progressive Change and the All Nigeria Peoples Party, on Tuesday said their plan to merge was to save the country from collapse.
Their leaders spoke in Abuja at the presentation of Manifesto of a Nigerian Opposition Politics, written by a civil rights activist, Mr. Salihu Lukman.
According to the ACN National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande, all progressives must unite in order to send the ruling Peoples Democratic Party out of power in 2015.
This, he said, was necessary in order to save the country and its people from the “misrule” of the PDP-led Federal Government.
Represented by the party's National Secretary, Senator Lawan Shuaib, Akande said, “Nigerian and its people are at crossroads. We must move fast and save the country from the PDP. That is the essence of the merger.”
Also, the CPC National Leader and a former Head of State, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari(retd.), called on Nigerians not to lose hope.
Posterity, he said, would not forgive the opposition leaders if they allowed personal agenda to mar the proposed merger plan.
Buhari, represented by a former Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Alhaji Garba Gadi, said the desire to consummate the relationship would make the CPC inaugurate its merger team by Wednesday (today).
He said, “By tomorrow (today), the CPC will inaugurate a committee on the proposed merger talk. This is to show that we are determined about it and we must not fail.”
The ANPP National Chairman, Dr. Ogbonaya Onu, said the 2015 political battle would be between the conservatives and the progressives.
Describing the PDP as the conservatives, Onu said the party had failed the nation.
He said, “By the grace of God, we will make it in 2015. The 2015 election battle will be between the conservatives and the progressives. The conservatives have been in power since 1999 and people have been dying of hunger since then.
“From 2015, the progressives will put a stop to this. Now, our schools are no longer working. Our children are now going to Ghana, Benin Republic and Togo to get education.
“The conservatives have refused to build hospitals and that is why Nigerians are now going to India to get treated for minor sickness. This must stop.”
Former PDP National Chairman, Chief Audu Ogbe, who chaired the event, said it was disheartening that many politicians preferred to jump from one party to the other in search of tickets to contest elections.
Ogbe, who urged politicians to drop their personal interest for the nation's interest, said their desire to seek elective positions at all costs “leaves them without honour.”
Former governor of Lagos State and National Leader of the ACN, Bola Tinubu, promised that he and Buhari would do their best for the merger to succeed.
Tinubu, represented by the Minority Leader in the House of Representatives, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, however appealed to the opposition members to close ranks in the interest of the nation.
Meanwhile, the CPC National Chairman, Tony Momoh, told the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Abuja that the opposition parties were determined to take over power from PDP in 2015.
He said, “The basic fundamental thing that the CPC will be involved in this year is to establish a massive election wining body that will give Nigerians an alternative government.”
Source:http://odili.net/news/source/2013/jan/16/836.html "party's National Secretary, Senator Lawan Shuaib, Akande said, “Nigerian and its people are at crossroads. We must move fast and save the country from the PDP. That is the essence of the merger.”", see what the merger seeks to achieve, meaning once the objective is achieved, it's..."TO UR TENT O ISREAL!" maybe, back to BUSINESS AS USUAL. Why can't they merge for the right reasons, the collective interest of all Nigerians and Nigeria. |

youngies: Former Head of State and three time Presidential candidate, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has said the ongoing merger talks by the major opposition political parties will determine if he will run for president in 2015.
Buhari said this in Abuja on Wednesday while fielding questions from reporters after inaugurating the Congress for Progressive Change Merger Committee.
The 18-member committee is saddled with the responsibility of having talks with the Action Congress of Nigeria on the proposed merger.
He explained that the CPC would first conclude discussions with the ACN after which talks would be initiated with the All Nigeria Peoples Party.
“We have written priority (with ACN) and we are going to go into discussion with ACN before we move to the other party,” the former Head of State told the journalists.
Buhari, however, assured, “It is not impossible that the new party is presented to the people of Nigeria by the middle of this year.”
The Katsina State-born general, who acknowledged the fact that he had said he would not run for the office of the President again, having failed to win the election three times, said he would wait for the outcome of the merger talks before giving a definite answer.
He said, “For the umpteenth time, I said it (that I won’t run again), it is on record that I would not present myself again for election.
“But after that, I have said so many times that members of my party and groups went and said that I don’t belong to myself and that I belong to them. They also said they belong to me.
“I asked them to go and organise the party and if you approach me I may consider it. This is the stage we are.
“I mentioned it several times and I’m waiting on my party and if we have a merger, it will make things much easier for me. The new party will then decide whether it will offer me its ticket and it is up to me to consider accepting it or rejecting it.”
While inaugurating the committee, which has a former Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Alhaji Garba Gadi, as its chairman, Buhari said personal interest should not stand in the way of a great opportunity to build a better Nigeria.
This, he said, would happen once the CPC, ACN and ANPP came together as one party.
He said, “The issue before you now and as you go into your negotiations is fundamentally one – that you will negotiate the best deal for Nigeria.
“It is essentially a matter of give-and-take. There is nothing sacrosanct about any of the issues you will be called to thrash out, but of course, there is a bottom line, the outlines of which have been given in the committee’s terms of reference.
“Your task is national. Petty personal interest should not stand in the way of a great opportunity to build and run a better Nigeria, which will happen once CPC, ACN and ANPP come together.”
Buhari told the committee not to take the negotiations as a battle, saying it was a friendly game with fellow brothers who he said, desire the nation for what people like him also desire for the country.
He said the country was at a crossroads, stumbling from one disaster to another “simply because its leaders lack purpose.”
The former Head of State regretted that the opposition had also not been able to get its act together because its leaders had refused to unite.
“In Nigeria today, therefore, unity – unity of people, unity of political parties, and unity of the opposition is no longer an option. It has become a national imperative,” he added.
Buhari said it was a great joy to know that the leaders of the two parties were eager to merge, adding that the sentiment in the country was for full merger and not alliance or electoral understanding or anything of sorts.
According to him, “What Nigerians want is merger and that is what you are going to negotiate and bring home to them.”
He said the work of the committee would be simple because there was already in existence, an unexecuted understanding between the CPC and ACN for the creation of a new party, with a brand new logo and a new flag already designed and all other paraphernalia of a political party put in place.
All these, according to him, should be dusted off and built upon to avoid time wasting.
The committee, he said, should be able to finish its job in six weeks before the two parties would now constitutionally seal the merger in another six weeks.
Buhari said the new party should actively support the restructuring of the country, adding its 36-state structure was not working.

“I asked them to go and organise the party and if you approach me I may consider it. This is the stage we are.The above is a very big lie and deceit. I wonder what Tinubus' opinion will be about this sudden u-turn? Lets face it, Buhari will be out to deal ruthlessly with corrupt individuals, while Tinubu being corruption itself wouldn't want him on that seat for fear of the unknown. The question now is, "WHO IS GOING TO OUTSMART WHO?" *To be continued!* |
