@ topic, So much for perceived repentance. My question to him and his ilks: does anyone of them have to be the president to bring about promised changes? All of his latest brouhaha could be achieved from supporting good governance without being head of the government. Atiku strikes me as another misfit, itching to have power by all means without practically showing/proving to us that his all-now-frequent statements are shallow and nothing profound. They have mortgaged our future and those of our children while theirs live in luxury in the comfort of another. For those of us who can hit the road to derail their plans to come back please don't hesistate, let every of us well-meaning Nigerians continue to fight them from all angles-physically, internet wise and on the papers. God bless Nigeria. |

Those blockheads won't bat an eye lid unless crude oil and its export is affected by the protest. Nevertheless, it is a good start for a country whose citizens have been indifferent. For me the battle is not in Abuja, celebs can use their celebirty power to woo more people on to the streets into civil disobedience in the oil-prodcuing states. let's drive out the source of their stay in power first, civilly and therefrom take our lives back. Port Harcourt is the hub( operational base of nearly all the OICs, then Warri, Bayelsa, Akwa-Ibom, Calabar and Las Gidi). Drive away the revenue source and those thick heads will surely listen. If we are serious we could non-violently shut down oil operations in a month in PH for a start. PS>> Thank you Nwadinma, am sure you did move things outta the way, i meant to say things did move out of your way with those bosoms. Well endowed baby. |
Nothing new. The people's revolt will be a suprise whenever it happens ![]() |
Peole still don't get 'it'! the leadership of nigeria is not a person but a system- a selected group of people deeply ingrained in self above statehood/nation building. Whoin this case Yarddywe see and address as president never does our bidding but that of the group. The person's hands are tied as soon as (s)he is anointed. So Turai and co who we see as conspirators are actually actors playing their respective roles in the grand scheme of deception that is our statehood. People with honour will never stay in such cesspit as soon as it is evident. It is only we the people, us common men and women that can with our might and will flush the system by rebellionof course people will die with duties of civil disobedience. Let us think. |
When you try to rationalise a dividing issue like you have by generalising you are bound to lose sight of what is important. There are good men on both sides of the divide, africa and europe. The same is true for women too. Personally I believe the grass is always green wherever it is watered and every man nay woman can find the desired marital fulfilment if they'd fight to strengthen what makes them rather than try to bring in what divides them. There are practices I like about the west surely not all of them; and there are practices I disapprove of africans as well. My wife and I go out in the morning and come back in the evening, both of us work for our daily bread. Their's mutual respect and a common ground for harmony based on what each brings to the tablenot neccessarily financial. I should warn here that in my home there's no need for <man> bravado, neither <woman> undue feminism. If I get home first and the plates are leftover, I wash and vice-verfsa. It helps our home alot and I'll be a fool to trade that for any brand of chauvinism. What am I saying? Instead of talking in general aout marriage being skewed against african women concentrate and win the battle on an individual front. That way one by one parity will be gained. Find your man, negotiate at the beginning values you hold dear<very important> so you won't have to shift the goal post mid way. In between am a man and my wife and I do have disagreements but we have learnt to our grass can be greener if watered and not neccessarily on the other side. |
After shoring up his interest for two decades plus<sighs> the owner of Heritage Oil, Sahara energy<supply of downstream products> and Afren energy<upstream, oil exploration>, all listed on the LSE. It beats me hollow when I hear people talk and mention sincerity in the same sentence as UMYA. How do you explain positioning a man with all those interest as the chief security officer of the same resource he has interest? The sad thing about Nigeria is her wealth has been distributed unevenly and left in the hands of a privileged few and when this phase of our ignomy is over their children who have inherited stupendous wealth they hardly ever worked for have been given an underserved head start above the many who are honestly grinding out their legacy. Our history is being written, sadly the followers have chosen to have very little say ![]() |
Every day should be chilvary for both participant in the game of loving. No need generalising here, just find someone to love and teach him/her the way to go. 70 biblical years is along time and learning never stops. |
Man, a class apart and at war with himself. Marriage will continue to be a conundrum of some sort with ideals from both sexes constituting the available divides. Pr10O will find a woman someday who will make his paranioa about marriage a thing of the past, maybe Ujujoan<wry smile> I think everybody has made their point(s), what however is astounding is both side of the divide want the same thing<faithful partners> but never seem to find any middle ground. Some men desire women who wouldn't sleep around but must be open to and grant the man that licence to roam and be promiscuous. The problem here is such a man must do such roaming with another woman; who sometimes in this game of chance maybe married. So it becomes a vicious circle of human philandering. Gender supremacy is in question. In the fine prints of what has gone before I see phrases like gender equality, advocated subtly by women and outrightly rejected by men who consider themselves naturally superior(??). The position from the men stems from he who pays the piper dictates the tune but the women in an ever changing world, one which has empowered them to stand toe-to-toe with men are saying, 'no' to practices of the past. While this is not strange as many a woman has found their voices it is the belief of this writer that each case be treated disticntly and that whoever (man/woman) goes out of their way to cheat while in a relationship has lost every moral justification to cry wolf when cheated upon. But if such a man/woman finds another who having knowledge of their promiscuity decides not to toe such path it is their luck not necessarily a RIGHT. |
, and the cahrade continues<folds hands like Omoba> |
The charade continues and the magicians impressively at their best! I can only see positive change if the same effort is chanelled towards improving the lives of people they govern. No be dem fault sha, we have the kind of leaders we deserve. |
Ujujoan:The possibilities that come with being human can never be gauranteed, some are born without limbs, others without sight and a great many more complete in physical embodiments, except their capacity to think depreciates as they put their thought into word form; that is where our friend is at, |
Onwan:Soyinka, a freak? This forum may be virtual but our words judge us and give the public and insight to our characterisation |
Okay folks here is the deal; a trip to see Arsenal vs United if you get it right. Yarddy and the Super Eagles who do you think will come home first? [/ |
Bravo to The Turai Contenders |
AmakaOne:kai, how about this: Yarrdy's back. Season Two of The Saudi Exchange. End game. Plenty suspense this time we will hear him from our parked satellite outta space. Who say 9ja no sabi magic, come and see America wonder. I watch as things unveil and I can only think of a title like : The Turai Contenders Can u see IBB directing the scenes from Minna while OBJ lines out the casts, soon to be rewarded in the cycle of the Anointed? Nollywood! This script is ripe for recital. Senator Mark waltz into the hollow(no pun intended) chamber, he announces:'' , See More brethren, what say ye to this end? Of things written but for the benefit of the chosen, we who are free from want and decide the fate of the many, let us to Saudi go, to fellicitate and bring goodwill to one of our own. The house: <heads nod, as if to say in agreement>, to Saudi we go''. watch out for season 2. |
GeeCee: asha 80:An apt title would read something like: The Saudi Exchange, Season two- End Game. Í have a theory that the ruling elite of 9ja have found a sustainable way- a rulebook with silent codes known only to a cabal of selected few-the Anointed; people who decide what fate the many of us have to share. Hear David Mark, ''we will send house members to Saudi on a mission of goodwill, '' more like get well soon and come back to work irrespective of your well publicised incapacitation. In directing the house yesterday he, Mark sounded like a man whose efforts are geared towards keeping the status quo. Like an unseen needle was pricking him to read out an agreed rule from their common book. Most of them within both houses are like him, tied hands made incapable by greed which has blinded their individual and collective sense of justice. Let's keep watching, the end game is neigh. |
Universities were closed for 3 plus months and no ultimatum was given. Now it concerns their thieving selves and all of a sudden they find their voices to shout, ''ULTIMATUM''. I implore the US not only to search but include every Nigerian diplomat, imagine Farouk U. Muttallab travelling in a convoy with the Nigerian ambassadorpapa connection to the UK and receiving a search waiver Search dem thoroughly, empty noise makers. |
Sensationalisation is nothing new to journalism, in fact it is on such premise that it thrives and a tool used the world over by many a jurno. Is it right? Who could say. We all tell our different stories in the way we see, most times to catch the attention of the reader at a glance. The real story we get and therefrom discern the writer's/teller's real intent. It's mostly psychological and used to sell the story. Now to the issue: ''Nigerian, Kehinde Adeyemi, amongst best global IT developers'', while it may not be a big deal in the westcos thier environment by default allows them to develop such with ease and to some ''erudite'' 9jarians who ask us kini big deal? It is to many of us who see the domino impact this can make when channelled into small biz in 9ja yet to xperience the impact of IT. There are long and ever-present queues in our banking halls the nation over, please can someone get me the contact of Kehinde to see what he can do to ease the delivery service as it concerns cheque-for-cash issuance faster with an ATM-like system. I mean a machine that can read the barcode on cheques and pay one cash without human intervention. Any takers are welcome. Yesterday someone was belittling 9ja on Nairaland saying satnav(GARMIN) in cars in 9ja is a waste of time and can only lead to misdirection of its users. I was very happy to hear many chaps tell him/her to update his/her brain as we are applying ourselves usefully in the transfer of techiee on personal levels. 9ja may not be good like the way we desire it, surely not first rate amongst the A-level countries, but on individual achievements I can only say bravo to the many out there fighting and putting our name on the map of the small good, bravo Kehinde. |
oloriooko:better still: from FYNEGUY « #321 on: June 12, 2008, 04:07 PM » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- lol Ako, you really are a wonderful brother. Hmmmm you are making a case for the thomases? Well I don't see the need for a christian making a "see before believing' case for 'thomases'. Let the thomases make their cases. Now where are these 'diehard critics'? and how can a church reach out to all of them, in the name of convincing them that the miracles are real? Did you mean by going to the hospitals to heal the sick? what exactly? if the so called critics really wanted to verify, may be they should look for a confirmed sick lot and take him to any of these churches. The Ghanaian union of Journalists did a similar stuff for T.B Joshua. He was in Ghana for a programme, not knowing the journalists had a secret plan. The journalists invited him to a press conference and right there, one of them said "Sir we just want you to leave us with a gift from God. Here's a woman tested positive to HIV. Kindly help solve her problem" T.B Joshua replied "If this would bring glory to God almighty, then it would be possible". He prayed for the woman and left. The journalists rushed her to the lab to test . she tested negative. The journalists were so elated that they followed T.B Joshua to Lagos and told the congregation "You people may not really value what you have, but we need him in Ghana' and the congregation yelled "NOoooooo we need him here" Now, Ako, inspite of the 'verification' done by these journalists, did it stop some other people from doubting? Whoever really wants to know will make effort to confirm the claims. If you stayed in your bedroom, ranting "no the miracles are arranged, people are paid" bla bla bla, you have your mind made up. Nothing will convince you. Even when the opportunity comes for you to really witness the miracle, you stay away. All boils down to one fact: many of these critics do so out of envy. |
oloriooko:https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-126221.320.html read fyneguy's reply of June 12 on this page. HE professes similar faith, hear his account of TB Joshua in Ghana and let me know what difference if there is. |
@ mabel and co et al It truly hurts if someone, anyone brings an allegation against a loved one, in this case pastor Chris and CE Healing School. Sir John if anything has been thorough in his accusations and has substantiated to the point where he has named names in pages gone by; is he right to do that as a former member of CE? That is not what is in question here neither his motive. Those who come to equity must do so with clean hands. For all we know these grave allegations may be false but until the air of doubt is cleared out and the concerns he raised debunked no amount of pontificating will suffice. The onus lie with CE to produce hard facts of ministered miracles backed medically person-to-person. Otherwise his well narrated account will be taken as the truth. |
Marry when u understand you are mature enough to bear the emotional, physical and material burdens that come with it. No be age thing, no be even for pikin sake aloneit is the sum total of attainable deliverables known and to be discovered as you progress in the union. So if at 18 you have this understanding, then why not; if it comes after 45 again y not? Each to his own. |

crossroads- a time if we sailed through we'd remain indivisible. |
On the same canvass we get smeared ALL because of one derelicts painted in unflattering strokes blemished image, scions the offshots from rot how do we tell our story? when the child is deformed and can't speak Abdul Muttalab we've all become holders of a common passport the single story that sells our battered image ha! Heads turning, looks of pity sanity has left our house Inroads. Chaos. we talk in cardinals the lines along our division failing to tell our story we give credence to Muttalab the joy of an outside story teller I shudder. Disbelief, uncertainty looms Perhaps, Midnight already, Karl? No! We've got Chimamanda there must be more! I choose to paint us in her light another scion of delight the glowing ember in whose light Muttalab's shadow is cast. |
Accountability is what is in question here, in Nigeria it is as if-do wetin u like for ur domaindat na wetin we, the power brokers take empower you. That remains the unwritten and expected code to be assumed once in a position of trust. So millions of Naira is given to each senator per yr for stationaries<pencil, biro, paper, etc> and (s)he understands that financial leverage has been provided in that regard. The same scenario plays out in other sectors, all in the name of empowerment. Principals in government schools surcharge for WAEC fees, police demand their ''roadpass'' at various turns, customs at wharfs. Banks and their chiefs are only acting the out the unspoken rule. It's like the climate change thing, the outcome is known by all but leadership is lacking to forestall the impending doom. Stalemate. We run but in circle. |
Iranoladun:Iranoladun, very gracious of you. Our environment inspires. |
A place each with his agenda sincere until appointed honest until opportuned today some clamour for Jonathan others wish the status quo remain Ha! Cecilia Ibru, the once shining star the madame par excellence looking in from outside honest as an uncaught crook today resides in Ocean of troubles trying in vain to clean a stenched fist and like Erastus seeking to move the intercontinental way Nigeria, ah! all will soon be forgotten minor slaps on the wrist business as usual the exploited to their folly another round of ignomy the cycle repeated stalemate. |
To think Oceanic was receiving double and tripple A ratings Well we are pawns in the hands of the elite- Tthose who are not in government are allowed leeway by regulators and custodians of our deposits to fleece us why they<Soludo> turn a blind eye. Dilemma. Nothing new, i will be surprised when the oppressed stand and say, ''no more''. |
Things are falling apart The centre is struggling but can't hold we all are no longer at ease a Port Harcourt dilemma, our Nigerian face of a people caught in a quagmire-stalemate We move but in circle, eyes toward a centre the attraction that feeds our greed same stories like Rwanda repeated in bits around my motherland tears won't fall from my eyes cos they've long dried with each passing harmattan Chimamanda I hope you can hear me? grief has taken over where once peace tarried the work of many a man's hand tainted with blood blood seeping deep within the black gold the care of the centre their greed to fill ALL to waste, empathy from us is gone. |
The Super Eagles are a mirror reflection of the administrative wrongs in 9ja. The players turn up when they like because that's how they are treated by the FA,hardly patriotic, SAM Okwaraji, God bless your soul. Self before fatherland is all too common in our national liveseach one in position try to fleece the system to flee poverty. If and when you can climb on the nation's back and gain success after that hardly anything matters. So from Yobo to Mikel et al the story continues to be the same, WE DON ARRIVE!. No known plan is in place to better our previous attempts, matter of fact no friendlies where put in place because even the NFA wasn't sure we'd qualify, so sad , . The more things change the more we remain the same. For me let all who can travel from 9ja savour the camaraderie and frendliness associated with the games, if 9ja do well na bonus. |
