What's the name of the degree? I think you could use WES or Iqas. esosa4real: Wow @boldinc congrats ooh, you really predicted your ITA last week...lol
@vcole @ugoiyke79e @dupsyshoo @iphie125 See as ITA dey pass me by oooh, chaaaaii I am hopeful sha but scared at the same time that the draws might go very up soon! Anyways I have to wait on ma 2nd ielts result on the 20th and 1st ielts remark in march.
BTW, I wanted to ask if anyone knows the right body to evaluate a MED LAB degree. I want my fiancé to start the process but don't know if WES is allowed. I checked the ECA section of the CIC website and only special considerations is given to Medicine and Pharmacy for which the evaluating bodies are MCC and PEBC respectively.
So please if there is anyone that has info about Med lab degree evaluation, they should help me out. |

Hello. So sorry about your miscarriages, God willing you won't have to go through this again. Did you get screened for strep B infection during any of these pregnancies? Diabetes? Hypertension? Is your thryoid function normal? Any thyroid antibodies? You may wanna exhaust all your options as regards a proper evaluation by a competent ob/gyn. As regards the visa, it may be wise to go for a vacation before you get pregnant. Havefaith222: I'm happy I found this very informative thread. I have a very peculiar case and I would love to seek advice from those who are experienced in this regard. I have a similar case with a particular poster(can't remember her name now). I had my first pregnancy in 2014 but lost it at 27weeks when water just broke @ night. Three months after the loss I found out I was pregnant again and registered with a government hospital immediately so the pregnancy can be monitored, unfortunately at 25 weeks an incompetent cervix was diagnosed, had d baby at 26weeks and my baby lived for five days and passed on. I got pregnant again 5months later but this time around I had a cerclage placed at 14weeks at Island Maternity, unfortunately at 27 weeks water broke again and I lost the baby again.Immediately this happened I knew I cannot afford to continue this, this happened in Oct 2016, and till date no one has any explanation as to why it happened again even though I suspect it was as a result of infections from the cerclage. Immediately after the loss we got advised to process visas to go over to the US to have the next baby. Now the issue I have now is hubby and I applied for B1/B2 visas which we got since I am not pregnant yet we were not asked if we would use the visas for any other purpose asides vacation so we did not see any need explaining in details. Our intention(out of ignorance) was to use d visas for childbirth immediately I take in again. Please how do we go about it now? Would it be advisable to just go as we planned since I ws not pregnant when we got the visa? Or would I have to go on vacation first before I get pregnant again? So sorry for the long post. Thank u |

I paid both oh. As for pof doc, remember all apps are individualized oh. Nigeria banks do not issue the bank letter in the format IRCC recommends. So what you do is obtain a reference letter from your bank(s) in whatever format they give and add a 6 months' bank statement for your account(s). A letter of explanation of any issue as regards your funds that you think would be necessary should accompany your supporting docs. boldinc: dupyshoo, vcole... others who have submitted... Did you guys go with the option of paying the application and RPR fees ahead or on PPR?
dupyshoo... do you think the POF doc you have would be useful to us now?
Thanks |

I will respond to this just once as this isn't the right thread for this question. You can ask your questions on the canadian tourist visa application thread which can be found here https://www.nairaland.com/2103860/canada-visit-tourist-visa-discussion You should be able to get more useful responses from there. However, you simply answer YES to the question that asks if you have applied to IRCC before and fill in your UCI number or app number as the case may be and answer YES to any question that asks if you have been denied a canadian visa before and explain the reason for refusal. You are married, so you would provide a copy of your marriage certificate amongst supporting documents as evidence of change of name. Enyinne: Hi my people, thank God I found this page .am in a dilemma and need to clear it up .my mum applied for Canadian immigrants visa for me which was sent to Ghana .the name I used is not same with what am answering now as she used her own maiden name to file for me as to suit and correspond with document tendered .but I was refused cos it took a long time like close to 5yrs for me to be called for interview by that time I hv gotten married ,baby is now involved and I was not looking like the age of 22yrs any longer which is they bench match age for immigrants visa . Now I want to apply for a visiting visa now ,using another name as per my original name but I can't remember if Canadian embassy Ghana took my thumb print at interview . Pls hv any one visited Ghana for their interview. ,did u thumbprint ?? As my interview was short but not granted .what point is thumbprint needed ?this is help me know if I transplanted or not so I can safely apply for my visiting visa . Pls help a sister . |

Congrats to all ITA recipients. I am sooooo happy for y'all!!!!!!!!
Personally, I think that a post ITA thread would be counter productive. This thread when kept alive in the past has truly helped a lot of people. I gained so much from this and i'm thankful to zandora, jesusDway, dupyshoo and all pioneers of this thread, even slowlybutsurely was very very active before. Now, it has really been a slow thread for a while maybe due to high draws. I suggest that we keep our conversation about post ITA issues, including all hurdles we face and how we surmount them here within the thread so as to benefit maximally ourselves as well as help others. The tendency to abandon the thread when another thread for only eAPR is opened or another forum for interaction about these issues is available is very very high. This is my opinion.
Anyone who has questions about the eAPR process should please feel free to ask and I will answer to the best of my ability and I trust that others will |

If you are only evaluating one degree then you only tick one. I think you should only tick d first and third items on this list. The transcript is to be sent by the school directly to iqas. If your degree is in english, then that 4th column about original language does not apply to you seeing as you didn't translate your degree from another language to english. xij38580: Hi,
Am having a bit of difficulty with the iqas checklist and would appreciate if I could be pointed in the right direction as I suspect that am misinterpreting the instruction. Thanks
https://i.imgur.com/p3qK8Qo.jpg
From the image above the blue boxes allows me to type into it. Photocopy of the Degree/Diploma (name in the original language): Does this refer to the name on the degree or the name of the awarded degree?
Also Photocopy of transcripts/statement of marks:, Transcripts (mark sheets, grade reports) issued by: appears twice on the checklist. Should i just ignore it as I only have a Bsc Degree?
Thank you |

Thanks for sharing. You can ask any questions you have and i will answer to the best of my ability alt3r3g0: Since Wifey got the ITA, will focus on hers. She has a first degree and is a chartered accountant with ACCA. As at the time we applied around June last year, she had four years working experience and was 29 years old. She applied under 0 Noc. Ielts score was L8.5 R8.0 S7.5 W8.0 We used Wes for ECA.
When we first applied, we did not add the ACCA, points were about 430-440, then we made some enquiries and found we could add that one as well. So we paid for an accreditation upgrade from WES and that qualified as another barchelors degree. We then updated the profile to two or more degrees and that pushed it to 473 points.
After her birthday, 5 points were automatically deducted to 468. With the new rules of work now counting for max of 200 points or 50, points now enough to get us the ITA.
IELTS was one attempt. Tips for those preping for ielts, practice makes perfect. There are many good sites for the listening test. Ieltsliz etc. I believe this is the most tricky because they do not replay the tape. So endeavor not to get lost. I got a 9 in this area.
For the writing, practice your writing, we are in a digital world and get to type more than we write these days. When we do write its just to scribble a few notes . Had my lowest score here but no need to retake as it was above the minimum of 6.
All the best.
NB: We did not pay any agent. Sourced every info online. Keeping tabs with Attorney David Cohen's news letters.
@ vcole: may have some que for you as you already ahead on the ITA process. |

How long did it take you to evaluate your b pharm with pebc? With your wife as PA, ECA for b pharm and 8,7,7,7 from both of you for ielts, your crs would be about 472 just as pinky advised earlier. The other option is for you to evaluate her msc alone, claim points for that as well as her ielts with you as PA. Your crs would be 457. The first option is obviously the better choice. youseuph: Whao! You have really made my day. Will do exactly that. My wife is 27, with 3yrs experience and has an Msc degree in pharmaceutics. We will try and prepare for ielts and get her docs evaluated. |

Congrats on ITA. It would help the thread and other hopefuls if you shed more light on your EE profile and journey thus far.....such as what occupation you applied under, how your degrees got assessed, number of attempts at ielts and scores, any challenges faced thus far and tips for helping others scale through. alt3r3g0: Very informative thread. If you are married, its best to apply with your spouse. You are awarded points based on your Spouse level of experience and ielts points...in some cases as much as 30 points.
Wifey got her ITA last week with 468 on the dot. So every point counts!
To increase our chances we both applied independently listing each other as dependant. She is younger and had more points (As you get older they deduct 5 points).
All the best. |

If the applicant is not legally married as per, no marriage certificate, they can fill the statutory declaration of common law union. When filling the express entry registration, he or she should pick common law union as marital status. beyunce: Marriage certificate is required if your status is married. You will need to submit your marriage certificate after ITA. When you start uploading your documents you will see a section to upload you marriage certificate.
Hope this helps. |

Who is the principal applicant? Msc gives more than 5 points. if she is NOT the principal applicant, i think you can assess her msc, then when filling her details on the profile, under educational qualifications, list the msc, also list the mbbs but indicate that there is no eca for that. crs points should be awarded for her msc regardless. bolaobby: Need help with this.
Which occupation can someone with MBBS degree and MSc in Physiology with six years experience as a Medical Doctor choose. Is it possible to choose an occupation based on the master degree alone since the Medical route is tedious for now.
Was just thinking of assessing my wife credential for additional 5pts. |

Yes you can update any info on your express entry profile as long as you have not received an ITA yet. However, after doing so, you must take a look at your re-calculated crs score to be sure you are not losing points. abusaibu: Goodday house, pls is it possible for someone who is already in the Experess Entry pool to login to his profile and remove the initial work experience claimed and replace it with another one
Thanks. abusaibu@yahoo.com |

Good news. I have heard how difficult things are to get done in Saudi but i am happy you were able to get an EOR done. I truly believe your writing would get upgraded. Your scores were perfect in all the other sections. Also, congrats on your ECA. You are only a few weeks away from a "swimming pool" entry. Lol! esosa4real: @vcole thanks jawe for your concerns!! You won't believe it was just yesterday I was able to sort it. Saudi is such a difficult place to do any waka.
My friend in saudi had to travel far to their British council office in the capital to complain that no trf was sent to me and so they allowed him make an EOR application on my behalf.
So now I can prepare well for my ielts exam on Jan 7th in naija here. Because truth is I was down and discouraged because that first ielts was my best (imagine getting a 9 in reading) I don't even know how I did that.
Anyway I am starting re-prep now with focus on writing. Please any tips for task 2 yall?.
By the way, I received my MCC ECA report both electronically and by Post mail. So na ielts I dey wait for now to enter the Swimming Pool (lol)
Pls pray for me oo |

Dude, ask a friend to go to the saudi british council office for you to pick up the trf and request for a remark. Provide a letter of authority and your passport biodata page to the person. Also, have you called the customer care at that office? have you spoken with anyone who has written ielts at the centre you did? i think you haven't explored your available options as regards this. Remember that while you hope to re write and get your target scores, it is still a probability. esosa4real: While I await to re-ake a new ielts, can I fill and submit a EE profile with my previous ielts?
Someone told me that I will need to input an ielts results nb! Is that true? As I have not received my TRF yet
Please advice how to fill the profile accurately and rightly to avoid being ineligible, thanks |

What is the modality of collection or dispatch of TRFs from the british council office that conducted your examination? You have a 6 week window in between the date you wrote your test and when you are allowed to request for a remark. To request for a remark, you need your TRF form. With this ielts result, I am almost certain you would get your writing upgraded because writing is always subjective.....it depends on the examiner who is marking and really if you got a band 8/9 in all other sections, you most likely would be able to get a band 7 in writing if other examiners remark. This is a bit dicey though. I would advise that you get on the phone and speak with your local british council office in saudi first and after which, you can call or visit british council , Ikoyi - this office is not the most helpful or reliable in terms of customer care from my experience. If your TRF can be picked up by someone in Saudi, you can issue a letter of authority for said person to do so and also request for a remark on the same day. Its a very simple process and that is what I would recommend as I really do not think that the Ikoyi office would be able to help so much but you never know esosa4real: I just checked my IELTS Result:
@vcole @iphie25 @dupsyshoo
Overall Band 8.0 Listening 8.0 Reading 9.0 Writing 6.5 Speaking 8.0
My writing messed me up. Please what do you guys advise about my writing, can I ask for remark?? or should I just write another? I am devastated because I did well but writing messed me up/
if you advise remark, how do I go about it?? |

If your crs (maximum possible) is 418, then your spouse has the possibility of adding an extra 30 points - 20 for language if he scores the highest possible on ielts and 10 if he has a masters or first professional degree. That brings your crs to a maximum possible of 448 which is still low as over the past 24 months since express entry began, lowest crs draw score has been 450. I promise that if you do read page 0-20 properly you would get a better undertsanding. Zandora broke down the entire process stage by stage. This is a DIY thread and sometimes people do get tired of repeating answers over and over. kemmytino: Thanks vcole, I did read from beginning tho not all pages that was how I was able to DIY to this point. Cc Dannio, Justwise It may sound cliche but please go back to the beginning of this thread and read. All the steps were clearly outlined and explained right from the beginning and if you read just a bit, you would get a hang of what you're supposed to do. You'll also have more informed questions to ask as regards your unique circumstance after reading. It is a bit funny when matters that have been discussed over and over on the thread have to be revisited again and again. |
