50 thousand naira for an academic transcript!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
40manlappy:
@BabaArmani: OOU transcript now goes for 50k. You also have to pay 1k for Alumni.

However, you can get Lautech transcript and evaluate the MBA alone, especially if it complements your nominated occupation.

I do not think a gift deed is necessary. Just a simple letter of explanation stating that you did transfer the funds (your personal funds) to meet the funds requirement for your family size.

Hello All, thanks to everyone keeping the thread alive with valuable information.
Please I need clarity. We were asked to send some documents which account statement is part of.
Thing is money in my husband account is currently not up to the required amount so I transferred money from my account to his account to make up the required amount.
My question is do we need to write the letter(gift something- not really sure what it is)? I am asking because the money is from husband to wife and the wife has proof of having the money.

Vcole, dupyshoo, Jesustheway and every other person on this thread, please respond.

Thanks

Used IQAS for my hubby's ECA.
Send the application form and checklist and copies of your credential(s) and passport biodata page via courier to their address while your school sends your transcript and the completed form (can't remember what its called) to IQAS. No need trying the option of giving it to your school, they would reject the application stating that it was not sent by the school directly.
Nievel:
Hello house. Please has anyone tried sending application form and checklist to your school to include in your transcript package instead of sending another seperate package I.e double cost.
Can one scan the signed application form and checklist to the school to print out and include in your package? Has anyone tried this. Pls let me know your thoughts.

using the highest possible variables for ielts... i have been studying for 3 months.. secondly I believe canadian work experience is also my work experience in Nigeria...? correct me if I am wrong.

you mentioned you have 464.. how did you increase your crs score?
your work experience in Nigeria falls under foreign work experience when filling the crs calculator.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by vcole: 10:38am On Nov 23, 2016
How did you get 136 on your first official language? and why are you getting points for canadian work experience when you do not have canadian work experience?
kindly answer the questions appropriately and you would get your correct crs score which should be 429 same as boldinc and I did.
Nevertheless, I have already answered your "any hope for me" question in a previous post.
sensisosu:
I JUST RE-EVALUATED MY INFORMATION AND WHAT I HAVE IS THIS

Core/Human capital factors

Age = 110
Level of education = 120
Study in Canada = undefined
Official Languages = 136
First Official Language = 136
Second Official Language = 0
Canadian work experience = 72
Subtotal - Core/Human capital factors = 438

ANY HOPE FOR ME?

A lil' reading could provide answers to seemingly confusing questions. @empire14, endeavour to take time out to read your letter of invitation.

Please house, is there any hope for me..? Even if I have to re-write the ielts

Please I need your humble advice
If you take a look at the screenshot of the crs calculator you posted earlier you would notice that you are awarded points for Canadian work experience. You may want to carefully read each question and provide appropriate answers and re calculate your points.

Gymme:
Ok oo. You are right!

So @Empire14 you don't need to worry as far as you submit within 60 days.
This is true. If the applicant has already received an ITA, then as long as s/he still has the same crs as at the day of the invite, then the application is good to go. It is the age as at the day of receiving the invite that is of importance.
However, if the invitation is declined and then a re entry into the pool happens after the birthday, the crs would automatically drop by 5 points.
Bottom line, submit the application before the 60 day deadline.

Nursing is not listed under the professional degrees to be awarded crs points in that category.
So, bsc nursing would get points for a bachelor's degree under education. i don't think there is any point re writing the ielts. It would only bump from 429 to 441. I don't know if draws would drop below 450.
So, really there are 2 options. 1) opt to go the student route and apply for a masters, or 2) opt to pursue licensing with NNAS et al in Canada. When you do get licensed, you would become eligible for PNPs.
Licensing is a long and expensive route though.
boldinc:
Using your info, the CRS score actually comes out to be 429 and not 438...

If you re-write your IELTS and aim for 8.5,8,7.5,7.5 LRSW, your score would go up to - 441.

Now here's the part I do not get... (Maybe @dupyshoo or @vcole could help) the Master's option says "Master's degree or professional degree needed to practice in a licensed organization"... Does this mean Nursing falls into this category? Cos that could bump the score to 469 with your IELTS result.

But overall, a better IELTS result would do you a lot of good and kinda guarantee you an ITA immediately.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by vcole: 12:01pm On Nov 21, 2016
Just read this. you have said it all. child care is expensive and it is a major challenge for a family with infants/pre-schoolers.
dupyshoo:
A score of 464 is not bad at all and scores might still drop further. Few months back, a score of 470 was doubtful as well.

How did you come up with score of 464? Have your maximized your IELTS scores? Think of other ways of increasing your scores if you don't get ITA before end of January.

If I were in your shoes, I will advise that you remain patient and wait so that both of you can go together. Why? Spouse sponsorship PR takes over a year. So, you might not be able to join them until after about 2 years. Also, please remember that life in Canada is totally different from life in Naija. She will struggle alone with the kids with little or no help from anyone. If the kids are still very young (not up to school age), she will likely not be able to apply for jobs or even attend interviews except if you are ready to pay for child care costs, which are usually not cheap. She will likely be overwhelmed with the stress especially if she has house helps and family members around her in Naija.

Please bear in mind that I am not trying to scare you, I am just stating the reality of not having anyone to help with household chores or taking care of your kids.

On the other hand, If the 2 of you go together, you can take turns to care for your kids, do household chores, apply for jobs, do some non professional jobs and attend interviews. it will be easier to cope for both of you.

This is just my opinion.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by vcole: 11:35am On Nov 21, 2016
Hi. I really would not advise the option of taking yourself off the EE profile because of 6 marks. 464 is not a bad score and you just may get an ITA with it. Losing 5 marks would put you at 459 which may seem like a low score because of the trend over the past 6 months or so, but if you study the EE draws for 2015 into 2016, you would notice that at some point, crs scores drop. So, 459 could still get you an ITA.
I am not quite conversant with the procedure for a spousal visa post PR status but I do know that it takes a while.
boldinc:
Hey dupyshoo...

Trust you're doing great.

Need your thoughts on this please... My wife and I currently have a score of 464 at the moment as couples, but I realized if I chose the option of not going with her, she goes up to 470 which is kinda like a guaranteed ITA. With that, she can go with the kids.

Do you have an idea of how easy it is to process PR for a spouse after she's gotten her card?

This consideration is only coming up if the ITA scores don't come down in the next few weeks though... We get to lose another 5 points by the end of January too.

Well, considering you finished from uniben I'm sure you know phone calls don't exactly work with that school. Someone has to show up at the office. Keep asking around, maybe someone would have a contact.

Anyone with UNIBEN College Of Medicine contact for credential evaluation by ECFMG. Or Experience of verifying their credentials by UNIBEN College of Medicine for ECFMG.

Kindly get in touch or provide useful information. Thanks.
You need to ask someone to go to complex and make enquiries at the general secretary's office. They would meet the person in charge and they can get their phone number to keep tabs. I don't have the contact but that was what I did.

If you have 2 years left for your study then I think you will be fine. Prior to this time, spousal visas took about 2 yrs to process. It may be shorter now. As it is, you may both need to consider shuttling in the mean time. Let her get settled and then apply for a US visa if she does not have one and you also apply for a trv and see how it goes.
Fortissimo502:
Thanks for your reply.

I just started my program, still about 2 more years to go. I just wanted to start the process little by little so that by the end of my program we can reunite. Let me see how it goes with the visa. I'd really like to visit her asap.

Before now, I thought speaking tests never got upgraded too, but you never know. The earliest available ielts test date across all centres in Nigeria as at today is Jan 7th, 2017. That's 7 weeks away. So, the way I see it, even if he registers to re-write the exam, he still won't get an opportunity to do so until 7 weeks from now. If he requests for an EOR, that would be about the same time it would take to get a response. As long as any other section gets upgraded, he would still get a refund. So, the way I see it, its a win/win. Also, there is his wife's as well. I can almost guarantee that those results would get an upgrade.
If it were me, I would apply for an EOR and take my chances. If it does not come out in my favour, I would then apply for another test date. After all, ECA is not even ready so there is time. N15k Vs. N68k for a new test to me is a no brainer.
dupyshoo:
He had 7.5 in Listening section. As this is a multiple option section, I don't think it is worth it calling for a remark. I am yet to see someone who got an upgraded Listening or Reading IELTS score. I stand to be corrected though.

Hi.
I really don't know so much about a Canadian TRV for the purpose of visiting a fiance/fiancee. However, it should be possible for you to apply for a TRV for tourist purposes without listing her as the purpose of your visit. Provided you meet the usual eligibility requirements for a trv, you should be granted one.
However, it may be easier for her to get a tourist visa to the states (assuming she does not have one already) since she's PR. It may take her a bit of a while to settle down before applying for the spousal visa and I do know that that spousal visa app does take a while. Would your program be finishing soon?
Your marriage, as long as you are both ready to get hitched, can be done anywhere of your choice. Many couples have had their wedding ceremonies (traditional and white or nikkah) done months and even years later due to varying circumstances.
Fortissimo502:
Thanks jare. Yes it was just Fortissimo before.

I even need some more advice now sef abeg.

So I'm currently studying in the US on an F1 visa and as you know, my Nigerian fiancee just landed in Canada as a PR. We are planning to get our parents to do the intro and other traditional rites (bride price) on our behalf in Nigeria then she and I will do a court marriage either in US or Canada. Thereafter she will put in the spousal application. Does this sound ok? Going to naija to do the trad isn't really an option because of cost and time. We've been dating for like 4years by the way.

I saw somewhere that it's almost impossible to get TRV to visit fiancee/fiance in Canada. Is this true?

cc jesusdway et al.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by vcole: 10:22am On Nov 16, 2016
Hello. You can both ask for an EOR (enquiry on result) and get your tests remarked since you are within the 6 weeks window within which you are allowed to do so. You may get an upgrade and really you have nothing to lose. Its N15k per person and takes 6-10 weeks and if any section gets upgraded, the N15k gets refunded. There is no guarantee that your next ielts would be better and as it is, there are no available dates until January anyway for a new test. So, the way I see it, an EOR is a win/win situation for you.
My hubby did get his ielts remarked and both his speaking and writing were upgraded from 7.0 to 8.0 and 6.0 to 7.0 respectively. Result came out in 7 weeks.

Are you getting your Msc certificate in January or are you graduating in January? I am asking because I know some schools could take as long as ayear or more after graduation to issue the certificate. You would need to find out if WES or any of the approved evaluation bodies accept statement of results in lieu of certificates for verification purposes.

Since you do have a Masters degree you are the better choice for principal applicant. With an 8.0 in listening, age at 31, masters degree and 3yrs or more work experience and claiming points for your wife's degree and current ielts scores, your CRS will be 462. Not a bad score for the pool.

You should commence evaluation for your wife's degree now and then evaluate your Msc when its ready.

Hello All, though i've read through the previous posts, I'm sorry i still have to post this here to get the candid advice of already/near successful applicants for the FSW programme.

Did the IELTS exam 29th October - Results (browsed online) are
(ME) L-7.5 R-7.5 S-8 W-7.5 {i will be 31yrs by Feb 2017, B.Eng (Civil Engr), will get my MSc Construction Mgmt (UNILAG) certificate by Jan 2017}

(WIFEY)L-7.5 R-7.5 S-7 W-6.5 She will be 30yrs by April 2017, BSc (Biochemistry)

We have a 1 year son (that would mean we need about $18500 POF).
What options do you think are feasible now, considering
-No foreign educations to boost score (considering the new rules)
-No job offer
-No PNP yet
-Credentials have not been assessed (i'm wondering if i should wait for Jan to get my MSc Cert before submitting for ECA)
- i seriously believe that our IELTS results should be better.

A sponsor of mine was suggesting we use an agent (based in SA) which i'm partially against because they only seem to offer what proper individual research can do.

Thanks for your time.

Yes. With 3 yrs work experience, mbbs and clb 10 he should get 481, clb9 and he should get 469. Both very good scores for the pool with a good chance of being invited to apply. @esosa4real if you do not have up to 3 yrs work experience, you may want to wait until you do. PNPs are not the way to go for licensed professions since you would need to already have a license to practice in order to qualify for your occupation.
dupyshoo:
Why are you having just CRS score of 270? Very strange!! How many years of work experience do you have?

Also, MBBS is rated the same level as Masters so you don't need MSc. With your age, 3 year work experience, MBBS and CLB 10 IELTS score, you should have 481.

Hello House,
I have a situation. I have 2 months to submit my application to CIC but my ielt exam result expires Dec 5th 2016.
I renewed my passport and the passport office is yet to relese my passport citing no booklet to issue a new passport.

Please, can I submit my application with an ielt result that is about to expire?
You would need to submit your application before your ielts expires. However with the new regulations as regards language test expiry, you may want to consider the option of re writing your ielts in case your case officer requests for an updated language test result. Remember that for ielts, they would no longer be able to access the British council online record once your test expires. Even British council would be unable to access it.
So, if your case officer has not checked and confirmed your result online before then, chances are that you just might be asked to provide another.
As regards your passport, it is true that Nigerian immigration service has not had paper to print passports for about a month now. It's a shame really as they say it's a lack of funds issue. I truly don't know what to say. If your passport does not come out in 60 days and you are unable to submit before ielts expires, you may want to consider declining the ITA. It's a bummer really but stay hopeful, you never know. Passport may get ready in a week.
