The passport we uploaded during eapr, we couldn't get a non- teeth showing photo lol! However, surprisingly for the photo we sent for the COPR, we got a non smiling forward facing photo for the lil man. I pray we don't have any issues with the pr card cos getting a non smiling photo with a toddler is so difficult. dupyshoo: 1 Like |

I thought once it doesn't meet the spec, then it won't let you upload it. So, how does the error now pop up? I can't even remember this part cos at that point I was just tired of that eAPR process. Lol! I think mine uploaded without issues though. dupyshoo: |

You need to go back to the photographer to take another photo. print out the specifications and take along. you are to upload the soft copy of the passport photo and not a scanned copy of the physical passport photo. specrealq: |

Well, I hear the waiting list isn't quite as long for preschoolers as it is for daycare. The province sets the daily fee and currently its at $20.80/day. I guess for some other centres, dependent on the additional services available, it may go higher. SlowlybtSurely: |

No. I'll most likely be staying for the better part of this year. I'll come back after about 4-6 months if I am unable to get a good support system (expecting my mom to come help out by late summer/fall while my husband comes back to Nigeria for a bit). However, if I do get a job, I will stay. I am just not sure of what kinda jobs are open to me. I found a preschool for 8-4 at $420/month. SlowlybtSurely: 1 Like |

Thanks for replying. I am female though lol! Well, I am not exactly taking my career field into consideration at this particular time because i'm a doctor and licensing would take me a while seeing as I haven't written any of the exams and don't intend to do so this year. So, we are pretty much looking for a place where our cost of living will be "affordable" as my husband would most likely shuttle between Nigeria and Canada in the initial phase. shinarambo1: |

Hello. We may have got off on the wrong foot on the other thread as there was some info you didn't quite provide and I read you wrong. I would suggest you consider sask and nova scotia as recommended by shinarambo, i also know of some imgs who were able to get residency spots in alberta. I am not so clear on how the alberta system works but for saska and NS they have special progs for imgs. However, I think you need clinical experience as one of the pre-requisites and mccee and mccqe1. I would advise you do a short landing and get your documentation and PR card then go back to Guyana and get at least one year clinicals in. i'm pretty sure that would be a requirement for a full license there right? Most if not all graduate progs have closed apps for admission this fall. So, whatever school you are looking at, would be for progs with a summer or fall 2018 start date. olandofire: 2 Likes |

Thanks for opening this thread. Thanks to shinarambo and others for valuable info. I got my PR this month and intend to land in April. I'm currently trying to weigh my options between Calgary and Winnipeg. Its getting quite confusing by the day and would appreciate any input as to the pros and cons of both areas. My earlier research had shown Winnipeg to have lower cost of living......however, searching for apartments recently have shown Calgary with pretty affordable rent, about the same price and in a few instances lower than Winnipeg. I also have a toddler. Thus far I have found Preschool in Winnipeg to be about $400-500/month. Its usually 3 hrs a day about 3 days/week but a few preschools run 8-4 Monday-Friday. Child care could be as low as $600 or as high as $1500. However, the waiting list could be quite long. I had earlier applied for a MSc prog at university of Alberta but I may not be able to go to school this fall anymore. However, lots of schools offer funding for research progs, I don't know about Nursing degrees. Does anyone know of short stay apartments I could get for about a week or two to stay on arrival? Most places on kijiji are either a years' lease or month to month. oohunt: 1 Like 2 Shares |

@byskoye, i did request my gcms notes. once in january and the second in february. i received the first about 3 weeks later and i am yet to receive the second. A friend in Canada helped request for it. you can use gcmsnow though or visafile I think others have used them without complaints. @ugoiyke, scan all the relevant pages of your passport and use it for your eAPR, then you can go ahead and apply for a new passport. During the process of applying for a new passport, your old one would be taken from you so you won't have access to it and on return it would be stamped cancelled without prejudice. You are allowed to request for a passport renewal (or is it reissuance? i dunno) up to 3 months to your expiry date I believe. You can get first hand information from the NIS. When you get a new passport, send a scanned copy of the biodata page by cse. |

You need a new pcc. ircc rules are for cumulative periods of 6 months or more. So, your last 2 visits fall into the cumulative period. damidamsel: |
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by vcole: 2:17pm On Feb 25, 2017 |
@boldinc @damidamsel, please pick one passport, either the Nigerian or US passport. You'll fill the chosen passport details under d column for your child. It will ask if d child has any other nationality and you can then fill d other nationality without having to input the second passport info. This is simpler as two passports does not indicate to the vo which one you intend to use. Also if you use the US passport, when it's time for ppr, you won't have to send it cos it's a visa exempt country. @damidamsel as long as the reference letters were issued after you left those employers and they are in the ircc format, then you can use them. Fill your husband's education under d section for education and indicate that there is no Eva for it. Upload his certificate and ielts trf (if he does have one) under the education section. I have seen a Lotta comments about multiple profiles and I feel I need to chip in. Please multiple profiles are not d way to go unless in extenuating circumstances. It's expected that before you create an EE profile you should have alreAdy researched what you need n proceed as appropriate. If you do need to create a new profile then, kindly withdraw d old one n go with the new. @humanshadow thank you for the much needed info on how to withdraw a profile and then the whole oinp thingy. I'm sure it'll prove invAluable to other readers. @ssemire, it'll be nice for you to share you 9 months journey. This is a DIY platform and it's not enough to just pop in n say oh, I got Bleep. Ppl wAnna know how you did it so as to learn form your experience. Someone asked about AVO, fusion23 got his app processed by avo and ppr in about a month or two. It's always on a case by case basis. Have a nice weekend y'all. 7 Likes |

Lol! you've got jokes @ no ppr yet. Yea, copr and passports duly stamped by london VO. Sent them via DHL to vfs london with a prepaid return envelope and bank transfer for vfs fees in GBP into their uk account. this is a different procedure from the accra vo, just in case anyone gets a ppr from london. You hit the nail on the head. Yes, no one should have two profiles. It is a grey area. however, in a situation like onlineise, where the applicant has concerns about meeting eligibility for a recently received ITA and yet is in a dilemma as to whether to decline or accept it, another profile may be created at the discretion of the applicant and if he or she receives an ITA on that other profile, he or she must decline the first ITA and delete the old profile. It's always easier to keep things simple......read all requirements for PR and EE and meet them, then create a profile. 5Kay: Bimpsy99: |

I really didn't respond earlier because I felt the question was a bit ridiculous. The basic 101 of fsw is that the minimum requirement is 1 year of work experience. You should know that seeing as you just got PR status You should encourage your friend to read up if he is interested in applying. You can also google and read up about your options as well taking into cognizance your degrees. I don't know anything about physiologists, only pointed you in the direction of physiotherapy since you mentioned you had a degree in it. olandofire: |

I also think a loe almost always works for areas that may seem confusing. So, for instance if you use your spouse's account, then mentioning it in your loe and your spouse writing a letter as well may just clarify any ish with the visa officer. merrymum: |

Well, before i submitted my app, i had read on canadavisaforum about people uploading schedule A alongside loe when submitting their eAPR as it would be requested for later. However, i didn't. I have been refused a uk visa in the past and did not get a schedule A request at all. So, its up to you. Beem4cupid: 1 Like |

Nobody said the accompanying spouse "has" to transfer the funds. What has been said here is that the accompanying spouse has transferred POF funds to the PA's account for app purposes and such apps have been successful going by the individual experiences of those on this thread who went down this route. The canadavisa forum is a forum where people share their individual experiences. Some people have stated on that forum that they have used their spouse's accounts and their apps have been successful. However, I am yet to relate with any such Nigerian applicant who has done so successfully. That however, is besides the point. The point is that the app is being sent to IRCC, who have clearly outlined what they mandate as acceptable proof of funds on their website. It clearly states that the POF should be in an account that bears the PA's name. You can clarify further on the ircc website and bear in mind that every visa officer has a bit of lee way to accept or reject certain documents at their own discretion. So it is possible, VOa doesn't have a problem with spouse account but VOb does. At the end of the day, the choice is yours to make for your application. It would be nice for you to share your timeline and experience as well as I do not remember you being active on this thread in recent times. It would help future and on-going applicants. merrymum: 3 Likes |

Lol! I have now decided to delete any PM that comes from a newbie, so if any newbie sees this, pls ask your questions on the thread. Lots of people here to respond to you. I also noticed that some silent members suddenly just pop up with questions like "i just received ITA and I want to know if ......" Abeg na, as una take waka reach ITA no share info, as you still check in, manage share your timeline and experience for others to learn from na. Also, newbies all these "i am interested in canada.......and i want to start....can someone respond....." Remember that this is a forum for sharing oh, not a travel agency. You still try and read naaaa. The first few pages of the thread have a step by step process of express entry complete with how to go about your ECA, how to estimate crs, etc etc etc. Loads of info complete with links and all. This is a process that would require your money and time it is worth your while to read. Then, its also veryyyyy easy to click on the moniker (the username) of that person that you are sending PMs and read their previous posts. Chances are you'll find answers to your questions. lastly, utilize the search bar on the top of the nairaland page and ensure you filter the search results by choosing Travel under section. This is my recommendation and my opinion oh. It may not suit you, and if it doesn't that's just fine oh. SlowlybtSurely: 9 Likes |

Current study means on-going study bro. You dey school?? lol! the answer is No. esosa4real:No Canada travel history. Other travel history, yes....UK, other countries in Europe,Asia and then the US. However, i believe virgin passport holders haven't had any issues securing PR provided they meet all of the requirements. byskoye:My current employer does not affix stamps and reference letter worked just fine for that. Blackbuddy:boldinc and slowlybtsurely una wan use laugh kill person. LOL!!! boldinc:I was denied a uk visa in 2007 or so. I answered yes to the statutory question that referred to visa refusal or entry by any country and went ahead to explain why I was refused the visa and mentioned subsequent applications for uk visas that were successful in my LOE and included the letter the british high commission sent for that refusal (i am obsessive about keeping documents ) as well. My husband did same for a previous US visa refusal in 2008 or so. Bottom line, answer the statutory questions correctly and utilise your loe in explaining the refusals. temitope06: 2 Likes |
