Indeed.....hence the trail of massive malpractice and looting that accompanied her reign, it is alarming how we justify corruption and insurbodination, is he not right to bring shady dealings to light ,or you want him to play ball in the name of being experienced? ,while his office is disrespected and due process not being followed?,just when I begin to have some hope in this country I read comments like urs and shake my head in disappointment , if there is any allegation against him I am sure our northern president of fighting corruption would know and do the needful.

IPOB members have never conducted themselves in a chaotic manner and there was never any breakdown of law and order before the start of operation python dance.

While I do not think the army should have gotten involved in the first place, a lot of IPOB members are not the saints you paint them to be,some of them are anarchist, there are a lot of cases where they harassed other people because they do not share their believes,there have also been issues of looting and all. My take is that the bad eggs among them face the law for any crime they commit that can be proven,that they reserve the right to self determination without being killed but they must act within the armbits of the law and not jeopardize the security and safety of other citizens.

What you're asking for is for some to be above the law or the law itself. On what authority are you calling what the state is doing illegal? Kanu has been challenging everybody, even the security forces and all you do is to still abuse the state and hail him. The state has been patient with him, but he cannot be allowed to constitute an alternative government. This guy says he is a British citizen; he should go and challenge the UK government by calling for a referendum and independence of Northern Ireland.

I don't really like the kanu guys cos of his tactics but does that make it right for the army to kill citizens cos they share his believes.. .haba, the government needs to be very careful cos while they may think they have the country's best interest at heart,they are actually playing into the hands of the anarchist with their recent actions.

I believe that majority of Nigerians want restructuring, not disintegration. But if a minority (Northern elites) make restructuring impossible (using their control of the Army and other security agencies to intimidate everyone into silence), then those of us that value our freedom would opt for disintegration or secession. In order to bring the North to accept restructuring, you must leave the option of disintegration or secession on the table.
Of course separation would not automatically lead to progress. But at least it would provide you the platform(which is nonexistent under this lopsided unitary arrangement) to work on making progress.

You have made a very good point, it is obvious that some groups like the northern elite have have refused to see wisdom in the need to restructure and help build a sustainable system for fear of loosing their means of looting and enriching themselves,some fears however like that of total collapse of their region if for example total resource control is achieved as most of their states are totally dependent on federal allocation is to an extent justified although completely their fault , we should try and be sympathetic,not to the northern leaders but the average northern individual who will bear the brunt of the collapse. This said we must continue to push for a restructured country as this would wake their leaders up to their primary responsibility of developing their capacity (northern region) to be self reliable. The aim and motive of the agitation for restructuring which i fully support must be at building a strong nation with strong independent units for the betterment of its citizenry and not to punish a group or section for their supposed laziness. I believe deep down the northern leaders know there is no alternative to restructuring.

While I do not think the system as presently constituted is sustainable, we must be careful not to assume total disintegration will automatically mean progress, the same crop of leaders and some of the corrupt youths will still have the opportunity to lead the different nations formed,hence a change in the status quo must me accompanied by a change in consciousness, in our attitude towards our fellow man, towards work,humanity and life in general. If there was one sure way South Sudan and Libya would not be where they are today, we must do what needs to be done the ways it's supposed to be done with the interest of all in mind and not allow ourselves to be driven by emotions, parochial sentiments and hate. It is very naive to think once the country disintegrates we will all live happily ever after.

Bro.. ..i get ur point and all but you really should not be throwing insults at people cos their opinions defer from yours, besides however ambitious you would want the average man to be,the stark reality is that there would always be poor people as there are rich ones and the poor people also deserve the rightto get married if they so desire nd decide to, it is left for them to face the consequences of their actions, who says a man who marries with a salary of 35k monthly however unwise it might seem cannot have a raise in time or even start a business with support from family and friends. What does not work for one person may work for another, the most important thing is to keep moving, however slow.....just keep moving, there is so much more to life.

Igbos are just too sentimental. The issue of Kanu and arewa youths are seperate. While those arewa youth should have been arrested long ago, it does not detract from the fact that Kanu violated his bail conditions and the FG is right in demanding his rearrest.

This is not about Igbos, it's about treating everybody equally, while you acknowledge the arewa youths should have been arrested, you ignored the fact that the government for some reason is not talking about arresting them but re arresting kanu, and you guys wonder why people think this government is highly biased.

While I think you might have some point, you are not entirely honest with yourself about the causes of the recent agitations, stating just the loss of elections by the PDP as a reason is flawed, the biafra struggle has been on for decades after the war, Kanu just brought a different dimension to it, the country has never been truly united, there have been ethnic issues here and there over the years especially between the Igbos and Hausa's, my guess would be as a result of unhealed wounds and all, all we have ever done as a nation is throw money at the problem or use brute force hoping it will go away, to top it all, the campaigns on both sides before Buhari came to power was so divisive and with all his good intentions after he won he did not help matters too much by some of his rhetorics and actions which served to devide the country more.....my point being,there are a lot of factors responsible for these agitations in different parts of the country, we can decide to hide and pretend all we want but until we come together as a nation,realize and face our deeps wounds, dialogue and come up with a system that would give every section a feeling of belongin on the basis of which mutual trust and true nation buildIng can begin, we will continue going in circles because there is so much even the best leader can do to move a country forward that is plaqued with mutual suspicion on the part of its ethnic nationalities and religions.

I can relate to your point of not owning your body in the Christian marraige, "both coming together to become one",but I don't understand taking something by force claiming to own it, in the first place, in a truly Christian marriage, the husband would not want to take sex by force, that situation will not arise, he would rather be understanding than inflict any form of psychological injury on his wife, besides where does love between husband and wife come in with what you have written, sex should be one of the vehicles with which couples express their oneness in love with each other,love is given and not taken by force hence sex taken by force in what ever guise taints it's sacredness, in that very moment of forcing ur wife u have murdered love. A Christian wive too would not give room for the husband to try to force her either. Forced sex, however you choose to look at it is wrong.
