RED was a really disappointing movie for me.
The concept was good enough to be done without any star power.

I believe the failing of this film was down to the fact that they decided the coast o the backk of the names.

I was really pissed off with this movie because instead of a pleasent movie it could have been a classic but instead they went for the easy option and John Malkovich has to stop playing the same character he has for the last 10 years!

He no sabi any other acting? Jeez.

I give this 5/10

Simple theory for breaking loops.

If you travel back in time and change an event, you are simply creating an alternate universe with a different outcome.

Your original universe is still there with the same outcome.

You cannot change your own personal past.
DONNIE DARKO
Donnie Darko is a 16yrs old boy living in Middle America, USA. In addition to the usual teenage angst, Donnie is plagued with psychological problems which he sees a psychiatrist and takes meds for. He’s also a sleep walker.

One night, he sleepwalks and ends up spending the night on a golf course. The next morning he goes home to find ambulances and fire trucks in front of his house . . . there’d been an accident the night before. Apparently, a flight engine crash landed on his bed.

After the incident, Donnie makes a new friend . . . an imaginary guy in a bunny suit with metal face. His new friend, Frank, tells him the world is gonna end in 28 days, talks to him about time travel and also leads Donnie down a life of crime.

On the day Frank tells Donnie the world is gonna end; he goes to see this old woman, who wrote a book about time travel years ago. He takes his new girlfriend, Gretchen with him.

They get attacked by two bullies who knock Gretchen unconscious in the middle of the road. A car runs over her and she dies. The driver gets out, it’s a guy in a bunny suit (it’s Halloween) . . . his name is Frank.

Donnie shots him with his father’s gun and Frank dies. Donnie carries Gretchen home, puts her in a car and drives to a cliff where he watches a tornado hit the city.

Donnie is back in his bedroom, it's the day of the flight engine incident . . . he laughs and lays on his bed.

The flight engine drops and kills him.

The end.

Ooookay. . . what’s so confusing about that? huh huh

Hahahaha. . . I kid! I kid cheesy

Seriously though, with all the talk of time travel peppered through the movie, it’s pretty obvious what happened here. . .Donnie went back in time so he could die. If he’s dead, he won’t meet Gretchen, if he doesn’t meet Gretchen, she won’t be with him that night, get run over by a car and die. Donnie gave his life for Gretchen. How effing romantic is that?!! grin
Nice one.

My problems with this film:

Exactly how does he time travel? where has that ability come from? he dey use jazz?
If he is shown the future why on earth then does he have to stay in bed?
Surely all he has to do is not take Gretchen with him? and by dying in his bed will Gretchen not be in town when the tornado hits anyway? mumu buruku

Very important fact:

People with memory loss do know that they have memory loss.

The simple act of trying to remember beyond 5 minutes would hint you that your head is not correct.

Spider-man is still a triology now.

They have not released the next one and even if it did, it is not the same spider-man storyline, they are rebooting it.

Toy Story

In Inception did it occur to anyone that the dice was not his totem?

Was his totem not like a spinning top and his wife was the one with dice?

Donnie Darko is senseless and that is coming from a scifi geek

Mulholland Drive is abslute rubbish and Lynch just loves fucking with his viewers, I will not be watching any of his films again.

2001 Space Odyssey is boring, I gave up after 30 minutes of showing the spaceship.

There are things that I love in a movie:

Good fight scenes
Lots of Geek references
Michael Cena
Adaptation of a comic
Hot asian babes

Scott Pilgrim ticked the boxes in all these department and I was really stoked to watch this.

It was f.c.u.king BORING!

I have never been so disappointed in a movie like this.

I never read the original comic so did not have any expectations about the storyline but this basically boiled down to this:

Geekish Band Boy wants to date whorish skank and dump his hotter borderline legal asian girlfriend, to succed all he has to do is beat up all her ex's.

The film basically was a series of fight scenes with lots of boring talk in-between and gratitious gay scenes.

I really wanted to like this movie but could not stand it.

I think it was trying to hard to be clever and cutesy but just ended being silly and pretentious.

I would prefer to watch Jenifa in outer space over this turd all day long.

Cena, you got this one wrong.

Knives you were hot and I definitely would!

2 hours of my life wasted.

I give this a generous 3/10 and only for the sometimes inventive fight scenes but that became repeatitive after awhile.

EPIC FAIL

Ifedisky:
You got your points but picking on Wenger here is not strictly correct given the bench he had and their quality. Granted a lot would have been done differently starting from Diaby but we should remember the center mid was bare. If Djorou wasnt injured, he'd have been in on Diaby while Squill drops in behind. But it wasnt to be. From the options he had, itz admitted Rossa is better than Arsh defensively so he was brought in to nullify the threat of Barton. Ebue had the Right tightened and there was pretty not much left to be done. Factor in a ref wiv a mission and u'd realise it was bad. I elect to look at yesterday as three points gained cos it would have been seven if Manure won. Right now the Chavs are losing so we r still there
I am sorry but no matter what choices he had they are the squad he assembled and nobody else. Protecting a 4 goal lead with 10 men should be do able for so called premiership players.
The excuse of personnel is just that an excuse, we lost 3-2 to Wigan and Tottenham in recent memory after being 2 goals up in both games.
This has happened to often to be discounted as a one off.
If this was the first time I would be willing to count it as an aberration but we know it is not.
Do not get me wrong I am a AKB and I wear it on my shirt as well but this flaw in our teams makeup has to be blamed on him as the buck stops with him.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (R.I.P Bawomolo). by Vieira(m): 4:46pm On Feb 06, 2011
Diaby - I have constantly picked on him in the past but today I will not say he is the reason for the collapse. He was stupid to react that way but it was 100% understandable. Barton nearly broke his legs and those MOTD (muppets of the day) shearer and Lawrenson just ignored it and called it a "robust chalenge".

Referee - He contributed majorly to this fiasco, the things he got wrong are endless: Not carding Barton for his Diaby tackle, Not sending off Nolan for assaulting our keeper, Carding our keeper for not giving the ball to Nolan when it is OUR bleeping teams restart, Best's goal given for offside, the second penalty.

Arsenals defensive game - 10 men is not an excuse to not be able to protect a 4 goal lead. This points to fundamental lack of bottle and fight at the core of the team. We did not have Song and Djourou went off injured and all of a sudden we started playing like a bunch of scared girls.

Wenger - Losing a 4 goal lead is your fault, simple. This is not an aberration but something that has repeated itself quite a few times. Wigan and Tottenham. I hate blaming people for bad luck but if you had invested in decent cover for Song or a CB then we would not be all at sea when one of them gets injured.

1. Who was the lady he went to see up in the cave? and did he make her up or was she real?
2. He said something at the very last scene of the movie that suggested he was sane. . . then he stood up and walked away. . Does that mean he became sane?
Without rewatching it I remember her being a figment of his imagination. She was one of the extra prisoners he made up. Remember he kept on saying there are 4 missing prisoners.

In the end he was sane and remembered what he did but decided he could not live with it and he would rather be lobomitized. Hence he pretended to be uncured and is now going to have his brain operated on to permamnetly damage him.

"living as a monster, or die as a good man" that means he rather die thinking he was a good man than live with the horrible truth of what happened and what he did.

It is not that hard.

Are you sure you did not leave the room for 5 minutes?

1. Dicaprio had a breakdown when his wife killed their children and he killed her for doing that

2. In the hospital they had kept trying to cure him but each time he realises the truth he retreats back into madness

3. They were now making a last attempt to cure him as he had hurt people in the past in his insanity

4. In his insane world he thought he was an investigator, trying to find a missing prisoner. The doctors were trying to use his own fantasy to get him to come to the truth himself.

5. Once again he did realise the truth.

6. The doctors said this is the last attempt to cure him or else for the safety of other inmates they would have to cut his brain.

7. The last bit is him deciding he does not want to live with the thought of what he did and what happened to his kids, so he acts liked he is not cured, so that they will lobomotize him.

I watched this a few months ago, so I cannot remember exact details anymore.
