PoliticsRe: Ribadu May Be Demoted And Retired! by vigasimple(m): 1:14am On Jun 03, 2008
This may be full of rumours but I aslo think there is likely to be more truth in the story.

Yar A'dull  is not a straight guy. He is the near copy of his boss OBJ

This guy send Ribadu through the IGP and AGF by false pretence to a dodgy school in KURU when even a daft Nigerian knows that they are removing him.

Even Yar A'dull spokesman Segun Adeniyi came on the TV to say that RIbadu is only going to school.

Now we knows that it was not the truth, Yar A'dull has now appoint WAZIRI to replace RIBADU. What his AGF may have not told Yar A'dull that he cannot do that until he removed Ribadu under any of the provision of the constitution.

Sending him to school and appointing someone at the same time is unconstitutional
Mr President.

If he has done something wrong the President should say so but we Nigerians knows that they they just wanted to get rid of him because of the 'untouchables' like IBORI, IBB  etc

Watch this man called Yar A'dull is on the tarmac for runway to failure.

RIBADU is not perfect we all know but majority of Nigerians knows that he means well and doing a great job at the risk of his life.

If we can all recall that it was during his tenure that the saying ' the fear of EFCC is the begining of wisdom' and that they mean Ribadu in particular becasue he has trained his guys to be fearless.

We are all about to see business as usual resume in full force

As far as I am concerned Yar a'dull is being given false comfort by people like IGP and AGF to paint  RIbadu in a bad light.

Governors, senator and a former IGP has gone down because of RIBADU. That has not happen before in the history of Nigeria before RIBADU's EFCC.

Selective justice or not, let's those Alams and balogun comes to say otherwise.

whatever Yar A'dull and his cronies decided to do we should not be suprised but in the end they will all fail.
PoliticsRe: Regular Power Supply; Can We Wait Till 2008? by vigasimple(m): 6:50pm On Jun 02, 2008
As far as I am concern, President Yar A'dull is CLUELESS and maybe to be fair to him he doesn't want the job in the first place since he was 'suddenly put in place' by his late brother Sheu Yar Adua's friend OBJ.

Alternatively it may be that his health is not strong enough for the job, or he is not fit mentally and intellectually to do the job.

I have said it before that this guy may be worse than Sheu Shagari who has Umar Dikko as the country driver while he Shagari was the Passenger during the 2nd Republic.

You may have heard about 7 point agenda and 2020 vision. I have written about the 2020 vision thing that is no more than 20naira 20 naira police vision

I want you to print this and keep it somewhere come 2011 during the time yar A'dull will be due for re-election that nothing will have been done.

This government is backward looking. Once you start to appoint someone like Baba gana Kinigigbe as your right hand man such govt is doom.

OBJ spent 8 years no power. Yar A'dull has spent 1 year no power. PDP NO POWWER shame on you.

Yar A'dull even promised emergency within 100days of his govt a year ago. Where is honesty, so even if he tells me that our power will be solved in 2025 I will never believe him.

What is it that is so difficult about electricity as some people on this website  even suggest.

If you can put petrol in your generator and get power, it is no different. The system need to be assembled from where it may have been purchased from and connect to either Gas or coal or it maybe windmill or Nuclear or even hydro.

Every government in Nigeria up to date lack the political willpower to do anything transformational especially power.

And if I may add there are very few enduring legacy we have seen from any previous administration.

Our Road networks is road to hell. I just think we don't have any leader only
commitee of Chaos Plc running our country.
PoliticsRe: Gani:letter To Senate On Mrs Waziri/efcc Chairperonship by vigasimple(m): 2:14pm On Jun 02, 2008
Without even going to the merits of suitability of Mrs Waziri standing or fitness for office, Gani fawehinmi has make the case abundantly clear that there is no vacancy for the chairmanship of the EFCC.

I, with well meaning other Nigerians knows that we are being mislead and 'attention diversion' when Yar A'dull through the IGP in conspiracy with AGF Mike Aodonkaa asked RIBADU to go on useless course to KURU.

The President has to state categorically that RIBADU has been removed and the reason. I listened to the President during his 1 year anniversary interview on democracy day trying to explain that EFCC should not be about RIBADU but about the system which we all agree to some extent.

let me tell you Nigerians, That man Yar A'dull will be a liar like his boss OBJ. He had deceived Nigerians to remove RIBADU and trying in appointing another person. If Ribadu has not meet the requirement of the constitutional provision or he has done anything wrong the country has a right to know.

Even the lady Journalist IJEOMA even subtly suggested to Yar A'dull at the interview that you need a strong leader to mould the system.

There is a constitutional provision which the President keep shouting about Due process and Rule of law which betwen him and the two most senior law officer the AGF and IGP has not follow.

The vast majority of Nigerians believed that RIBADU was sent to KURU on a false pretence to remove him, barely 6 months we have been proved right. You can fool most people most times but not all the times.

RIBADU removal is unconstitutional and so will be attempt by the Senate to ratify the new appointment. The President though his spokesman should make a statement that RIBADU has been removed for any of the reason stated in the constitution.

We all know that they are waiting for the heat to die down before their next move.

I have never trusted a supposed 'honest' man who promised during campaign that he will declare emergency on power sector within 100 days and well over 365 days he has not done so.

It is either he is lieing or incompetent or does not know the meaning of emergency or a combination of the three.

YAR A'DULL you owe Nigerians a better expalantion why we should believe you when you say Good morning. Because we would need to be sure that it is infact Morning indeed.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Accepted US Army Barrack In Nigeria. by vigasimple(m): 3:48pm On May 30, 2008
First and foremost i have not read what AFRICOM was suppose to be doing for Nigeria.

I listen To President Yar A'dull yesterday trying to rationalise or explain why he agreed with BUSH to accept AFRICOM base in Nigeria.

With the greatest of respect to our own President and his so called education, I am shocked and don't expect to see any President in the world apart from Mugabe who is daft more than George W. Bush.

Even school children all over the world knows that BUSH is daft and that it is all lying and you could imagine what anyone that is daft more than him will look like.

Imagine if an IBO or YORUBA man decided that he want to put a small military barrack in SOKOTO because they can assist the people of Sokoto with their security. I am sure all the Jihad willstart from there. Ordinary church they are burning down.

The west and America in particular do not offer free lunch. AFRICOM -Afican command of the US military is to use the base as a startegic base to launch attack on countries they don't like and it may even be us.

Between Nigeria and South Africa and some other major countries we can defend Africa from rogue nations in Africa.

Why did Yar A'dull not asked them to go and put it in his village in Kastina state.

This single mistake is bigger than anything done since our independence. has he refer this to NASS for approval under his so called 'Rule of Law' and due process.

As a professional, if you are in a particular industry, you will know when somebody opens their mouth and say something when they don't have a clue. YAR A'DULL IS CLUELESS

Yesterday interview simply confirm that Yar A'dull is a disaster waiting to happen. He will be propably worse than Shagari especially that there is oil money everywhere.

Let me give Nigerians some good point about OBJ inspite of all his wrong doings.

1. He would not have accept AFRICOM
2. He paid all the nations debt
3. He has saving for the nation in foreign reserves.

failures of OBJ

1. Corruption continues
2. He can't fix electricity
3, he lacks vison chasing 3rd term and did not groom a worthwhile successor to take Nigeria to the next level.

I hope you guy find that live interview and watch it and you will be convinced that this guy called Yar A'dull is just going to go through the motion. He will continue to repeat 7 point agenda and 2020 vision as if by repeating them everything will fall into places.
PoliticsRe: One Year Of Yar'adua At The Helm: Anything To Write Home About? by vigasimple(m): 1:10pm On May 29, 2008
There is a saying that how sunday will look like, you usually get the the idea on saturday.

From Inception President Yar A'dull is an unwilling candidate. His only track record is that he is the first Nigeran graduate president and not as corrupt as others.

But, wait a minute, In a a blind man's country, a one eye man will be king. During campaign this guy has to be flown to Germany for medicals(at the time they said it was flu like problem). But we all know the truth that he has serious medical problem.

He promised emergency on power. Now it is excatly one year, no emergency, infact no indication of where the country is going. The people who are holding the economy well are the technocrat OBJ left like Soludo etc.

Rule of law, due process to take attention away. part of due process and rule of law is for our leaders to make a campaign and manifesto promise and carry it out but they haven't done so.

Coming back to saturday evidencing sunday. A man who cannot fix his own state health service even for his own benefit to treat him has no prayer in doing so for the ordinary people at the national level especially when he has the option of travelling to overseas with the country resources without being question.

To me, I think the people in position of power has no serious reason for them to have status quo to change. There maybe a need for some kind of revolution.

All those 7 point agenda and 2020 vision is all gimmick and infact if I may be permitted to say is FRAUD on nigerians.

And I prayed for the sake of millions of ordinary Nigerians to be proved wrong that they have the interest of Nigerians at heart.

On the other hand, it may just be a case of president yar A'dull is clueless on what to do about the country. he may just be reading out prepared speeches. TIME WILL TELL

Sometimes simple minds over simplify problems!

Now to the post, I have maintained that the probe itself is a scam
All hot air, achieving nothing sad
I am happy you seems to understand the problem and very quick at criticising others.

Now, can you explain to everyone on this forum what the problem is and what are 'doable' solutions that start now, not next week or next year or 10 years as you think.

I will tell you one thing for sure anything that is not simple is fraud if not a political game. somebody is not telling somebody the truth.

Is it lack of expertise or finance or equipment to use in buliding power ?.

Just to 'simplify' your mind. How long does it take you to buy your generator and put petrol and start it to get light in your house. You see the same concept goes for the large power transformer and station be it at a higer level.

Even though there a slight adjustment as the power station are built from stcrath but the equipment is likely to be assembled on site. The concept is very similar.

When you build 1 storey building or 100 storey building , you start with a plan/drawings etc.

Please direct your argument be it from lay person point of view or a professional for ordinary Nigerians to understand.
PoliticsRe: Power Probe: C’tee To Write Report Abroad! by vigasimple(m): 8:44pm On May 27, 2008
They also want to take their own share of the loot in their diplomatic bag overseas.

Yar a'dull and all his quango are not being upfront with Nigerians.

The issues is Secondary student maths to sort out.

1. How many contractors are awarded contract under the NIPP

2. How much was paid to them

3.What are they suppose to do

4. have they done the work to the value of the monies

5. If any of the contractor has not carried out the work to the value of payment made to them where is the balance of the monies.

Also I think it is high time the minister for energy/power to put up a website and explain all the power situation so that ordinary market women can understand it.

Also, how many megawatts do we need and where is it going to be sited, how much will it costs and how are we going to fund it.

CORRUPTION IS ACTUALLY BLINDING OUR LEADERS BECAUSE I HAVE SPENT ONLY 10 MINUTES ANALYSING THE ISSUES. OBJ SPENT 8 YEARS AND SPEND 10-16 BILLION DOLLARS NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT.

YAR A'DULL HAS SPENT NEARLY A YEAR MAKING SILLY PUBLIC ENQUIRY.

YOU CAN FOOL MOST PEOPLE MOST OF THE TIME BUT YOU CAN'T FOOL EVERYBODY ALL THE TIME.
PoliticsRe: Yar'adua- One Year After- Ft Interview by vigasimple(m): 2:26pm On May 26, 2008
President YAR A'DULL is a CLUELESS MAN. Shikena

let me tell you that when he was campaiging last year he promised emergency on electricity.

I have said it before, I will say it again. Our president either does not know what is called emergency or he is outrightly lieing to Nigerians or maybe to be generous to him, he hasn't got a clue on how to run the country or maybe his health cannot just cope. You can choose which one you think it is more likely.

One thing I know for sure is that this Rule of law and due process is as good as when there are basic amenities in the country.

In another 1 year's time Yar a'dull will be telling us that Nigeria will be good in 2010 and in 2010 he will saying give me 4 more years and you will be in Heaven. After the 2nd term, he himself will be suggesting 3rd term and then he will be talking 2020 as usual.

President CLUELESS should be his new nickname.
PoliticsRe: N/A by vigasimple(m): 12:13am On May 25, 2008
In every honesty and thinking about few issues that the Clintons have got themsleves entangled in this campaign, I will like to give HRC some benefits of the doubt.

However, this is the 2nd time HRC is saying this or in essence implying that the only reason that she is staying in the race when all the odds is stark against her is that RFK was assasinated before the end of the primary in June 1968.(even though she also said that her Husband did not get the nomination until June 1992). the maths and landscape are completly different.

Let me paraphrase what she may be trying to say ' Obama seems to be like RFK and JFK and also black, he may be assasinated (if some bad story did not come out before the end of the process) so I will hang out to step in') she is really really hoping anything no matter how evil to happen to OBAMA for her to 'win'. For her it is all about her winning no matter how even at the detriment of her party.

The cumulative effect of her 'creative maths' campaign and Huckabee statement is not looking like a coincidence.

One mistake, a mistake, two mistakes a coincidence and three mistakes a pattern

On my final analysis, this 'something like assasination' is what is in the mind of HRC and not a mistake, all explanantion is just an excuse.

Maths: OBAMA 1,977      needs     49  to win.
CLINTON: 1,779  needs    247 to win

delegates  remaining   P.R                 55
                                    montana        15
                                    South dakota 16

Total pledege delegates remaining: 86

Superdelegates remaining  : 196    Total pledge delegates and superdelegates remaining :282

SOURCE: AP REUTERS  25TH MAY 2008

OBAMA will get at least 30 from the remaining 3 contest

and he will only need 10% of the superdelegate, that is only 19

Even if HRC is given all the delegates that 'voted' for her in Florida and in Michigan in breach of party rules she will still not be able to win. All superdelegates arguments have failed because OBAMA keep increasing his Superdelegate support despite losing heavily both in W.V an KY.

I think it is time for HRC to eat humble pie for dinner.

I will quote barrack OBAMA ' I may be skinning but I can fight, I am from the south side of chicago politics).

If HRC want to fight to the convention floor, the smiling JFK (OBAMA) can match her toe for toe)

One of the best test of how well a campaign is doing is money(donation) not personal loan. Obama has raised well over 1/4 of a Billion better than HRC with party institution and family name behind her.
PoliticsRe: Behold; Another Ribadu In The Making. This Time A Woman! by vigasimple(m): 10:25pm On May 16, 2008
Slowly but surely Yar A'dull is showing his hands.

By the time this President finish in office he will be no better than OBJ.

We were made to understand (just under a year ago) that RIBADU was only attending a course in KURU and will be back once he finish and our leaders are the ones who are stupid because majority of Nigerians knows that they are simply removing him (because of some powerful people like IBORI etc)

Why can't they simply say he is being redeploy. Now if Yar A'dull may then be bold enough to let his new EFCC woman chase OBJ and IBB and others, it will be dawn of a new era but I personally think this is just AGP Aodoankaa and his Rule of Law and due process nonesense. in international political language it is called status quo.

I prayed for Yar A'dull to be able to achieve something for the sake of all well meaning Nigerians but again it is my own personal opinion that even worse than OBJ, he hasn't got what it takes to lead and govern Nigeria.

I prayed that I am wrong on this for the sake of all the people of Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: Yar' Adua A Faliure! by vigasimple(m): 2:45pm On May 08, 2008
There is a saying that ' How Sunday will look like saturday will usually give you an indication'

President Yar A'dull in my opinion will propably not achieve much because he is not a leader and even if we give him the benefits of doubt he has not communicated his vision and how he intends to achieve it.

To have a speechwriter or other surrogate doing things for you is not the same as what you intend to do yourselves.

I like well meaning Nigerians, I want him so succeed for the sake of our beloved country.

However, part of the reason he may not suceed is that he didn't understand the magnitude of the challenges facing Nigerians.

All these rule of law and due process is simply a glorified 'I have no idea' tactics that has failed in the past and will fail anyday anytime.

Just to give you an idea of why I personally think he is a joker.

His government will be 12 months by 29th May 2008 in less than 3 weeks and he is yet to declare emergency on power/electricity.

I have said it befeore and I will say it again. It is either our First graduate President don't know the meaning of emergency or outrigthly lieing to Nigerians during his election campaign about declaring emergency on Power. I will leave others to Judge.

You can carry out all amount public hearings but you have to give the country proper indications when all these things will happen.

I am one of those that beleives that we need 50,000 MW of electricity and it will cost $50B and can be carried out over 5years at 20% per year. let us asume less say 20,000MW we can do the same arithmetics.

So, until one major aspect of National infrastutures is addressed and fixed , it a complete joke in my opinion. Electricity will power our economy and can grow astronomically well over 1000%.

Think about what the banking consolidation has done for Nigeria which is even not as important as power.

I rest my case.

They should simply take turn. If you can explain to your mum for her to wait as the 'Elder' and for your mother in law to come first for say 1-2 months and your mum to come later and they can alternate it.

It is for you and your wife to reach a good loving decision and explain to your both mothers without bitterness.

If you sense any bitterness or they show one, you should tell them you will cancel the idea or forget it totally.

All the best and congratulations.
PoliticsRe: Efcc Commences Probe Of Obasanjo, Others by vigasimple(m): 12:42am On Mar 28, 2008
with respect to all, the probe, investigation and conviction of IGP, governors etc is commendable.

Investigation and probe of OBJ is also welcome. I hope EFCC willalso be looking into IBB and others.

HOWEVER, THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS FOR THIS YAR A'DULL OF A PRESIDENT TO SET OUT A BOLD, TRANSPARENT VISION FOR THE ORDINARY PEOPLE TO FOLLOW.

let me give Mr president a guide,

Power/energy/electricty - he should declare his 10 month overdue emergency- identify what we currently have  and what we need, bring out the files of who has been paid for what and personally invite all those contract to ASO ROCK and let them give a statement on where they are in terms of payment and work. When he i having this meeting he should have full cabinet and experts on energy standby.

In as much as we all like the idea of panel on energy looking for how $16Billion has been spent or not spent, we need to quickly move beyond that (of course we need to trace it and get it repaid) but that should not stop us from identifying what we have, what we need, what those contractor are meant to be doing.  If you don't have food in your stomach all enquiries means nothing.

Secondly our transport network and infrastructures need a bold plan and start to execute, so it's no point probing and investigating without proactive measures, the problem on the ground is far greater than the extraordinary snail speed of which our President is going.

Those are my short views but believe me the challenges are great and the solution requires sleeplesness for a caring and formidable leader.  NIGERIANS ARE SUFFERING TOO MUCH NOTHWISTANDING THE FACTS THAT THEY ARE SMILING WITH 'BIG STOUTING' AND
'PEPPER SUYAING'  as per igodo Megodo (The edo state Nass assembly Honourable big grammer clown(sorry member).

4 Play:
How does this issue compare to the more egregious pastor controversy ?

Sure,Hillary hasn't always religiously stuck with the facts, but neither has Obama,or should I call him Prof Obama(He once claimed to be law professor with the Uni. of Chicago).

If you want to nit pick each candidate's recollection of events in the past, you will always find discrepancies. This shouldn't distract people from the more substantive issues.
First issue with your observation.

1. You need to listen to the whole of Rev. Wrigh sermon, those statement has been taken out of context even though completely acceptable. However, that was not OBAMA saying that.

Whereas it was Hilary Clinton repeating 'under sniper fire' repeatedly to boster her foreign and security experience credentials.

2. Secondly lecturers are usually referred to Professor in the US, so if OBAMA has lecture or taught law at University of Chicago, he will be a law professor. Even though he will not use the prefix Professor (as they do in Nigeria)
PoliticsRe: Col Umar On Obasanjo And Corruption by vigasimple(m): 12:27am On Mar 27, 2008
I am doing what I usually don't do, that is to reply to a thread without reading the whole questions posed.

And I believe the question that is posed is investigation of Obasanjo Administration and the state of our economy which I think is not only neccesary but of dire urgency.

However, the question of selective justice will be alive and kicking.

Maybe we should investigate all surviving president from Shagari to Obasanjo, then we will be clear the deck and start our nation afresh

In my opinion the most corrupt Head of state in Nigeria by any measure is Babangida and
Col Umar of which I have a great deal of respect for is part of that administration.

The problem of our dear country is not mainly corruption but lack of vision, foresight and the political willpower to lead the nation with different approach and direction.

Any leader has to bring in the people, empower them and carry them along with whatever the government want to do.

The political class are only interested in themselves and not the wellbeing of the people.

For example the panel on Power/energy is commendable but what the government should be publishing about electricity is what is our present capacity and what we need and the costs, and how we can finance it and everything must come with timeline.

They must be done in the open so that ordinary market women can understand.

I am sorry, that Yar A'dull is the product of our political 'godfatherism' so unless he start by setting out bold vision that will look after the ordinary people then no amount of investigation or hearing will resolve our problem.

Hearing upon hearing alone will not solve any problem it will only delay and prolong the suffering of the ordinary people.

Let NEPA/PHCN take light in ASO ROCK like they do in ordinary homes if the President will not bring forward his ever dubious emergency declaration on power. It will be 10 months he took office in 3 days time and he still does not know the meaning of emergency or how to declare it or he is absolutely lieing when he was campaigning.

Every presidnt that has ruled Nigeria has been corrupt and it is just a question of degree and when they work for the ordinary people nobody takes notice.

Yar A'dull should start working for the ordinary people.

Since the woman has papers, she can go during her annual holiday (for a month) or even get another 1-2 months unpaid.

Family and marriage are far more important than anything else.

The husband should(and i beleive he must have talk through with his wife) try to reach some understanding with his wife and set a realistic timetable when they both will be together.

There is bread today and there may not be tommorrow. Anything that will not break the family and still put bread on their table is the best acceptable compromise in my opinion.

Dialogue, understanding and loving communication without some 'usual feminist nonesense' is the best approach. it is not just this two people but there are children and their interest should be equally paramount if not more.

One day the job will be finished, so she will be left with her family and likely her husband if she is wise to keep it, same goes for the man.

Good luck in applying wisdom.

B: So what is your parting word to Nigerians?

O: My parting word to Nigerians is to be patient with the president of the country President, Umaru Musa Y’aradua. I appreciate that a lot of people at this time are becoming very critical in assessing the president because they believe that 8 months is enough to chart a visionary trajectory. I share those sentiments, but at the same time, let us not forget that the country was in a state of economical quagmaya, political fantasmagorie and social stupor at the time the president came on board. So I appeal to Nigerians to be a little bit patient with him.

But at the same time, I want to appeal to Mr. President to see the victory in the cause as a wake up challenge, for him to leave the position of recupensy into one of recusansy. 8 months, people should be able to say “this is the direction of Mr. President”. 8 months, people should be able to say “Mr. President’s stance for this”. There is a difference between amiability; there is a difference between decency and activism. The president must leave his position of political, and social and administrative lethargy and take the driver’s seat.

As Mr. President, he drives, and others follow. So whereas I appeal to Nigerians to be patient with him, I equally call on Mr. President to ascend the challenges of governance, and he cannot do that except he take the driver’s seat as the political do edger, the political emir of trans Jordan, and the political major dobo, the buck……

The words in bold is the main important things rather than all his big grammar. He is showboating. And just reminded Nigerians that the NASS should be renamed National House of Comedians. They are all bunch of Jokers

And above all,  YAR A'DULL is the Executive Jester of the federation.

There is a saying ' if Someone is deceiveing me and I know it and I refused to accept that he is deceiveing me then I am a fool'.

This president like OBJ before him have no idea or the political will to do anything. We would continue to be asked to give him more time and by the end of the 4th year in office they would ask us to give him 2nd term of office and then the idea of 3rd term will start again.

If they are deceiveing me and I know it, then I should not allow myself to continue to be deceived.

I have said it number without times, it is either the President (YAR A'DULL) does not know the meaning of emergency when he was campaign just over 10 months ago about declaring state of emergency on power or he is being dishonest with Nigerians.

I will let everyone judge for themselves. We know our power needs and the costs. Budget was done at $53 per barrell of oil, today oil price is well over $106 which is more than double.

Can we not use the windfall to do our energy sector and transport network as in roads etc.

I will like that we should try and caution ourselves and stop jumping to conclusion that everybody (as in Nigerians) getting married to somebody in UK or America is doing so for papers. It may even be possible that the poster herself is the one looking for papers from this guy. or does anyone not think along those lines?

When we type anything on this site we should not think about the questions the posters is asking us but also apply wisdom in answering.

If the poster wanted to know if  she is being used i am sure she will have ask that question.

Nice reply anyway by BlackMamba
PoliticsRe: Talk Of Priorities:Dress Code Bill Is Being Deliberated By The National Assembly by vigasimple(m): 12:29am On Feb 12, 2008
maybe we on nairaland should explain to the House and Yar A'dull the 'fierce urgency of now' in our nations challenges.

without a shadow of a doubt, the most potent challenges we have are corruption and unemployment.

Dressing (indecent or not) can be addressed in a simple manner by leadership by example.

if you have a leader as in the President and set of lawmakers with vision, they will be enough role model that people will simply follow their ways.

In order to address the main two challenges which is corruption and unemployment.

1. Power/energy

2. transport network - roads and rail networks, sea and air terminals

3. 6 zonal buisness mega city (as in 6 geo political zone) federal goverment in association with the State government of those zone

if we work on the above others things will fall in places and we would not have to spend too much time debating dress code etc)

In a nutshell, in order of priorities it is about number 1000 on the lists of our pressing challenges.

Good luck guys

PoliticsRe: Yar'adua Did Not Spend A Dime Of His Security Vote by vigasimple(m): 1:49am On Feb 05, 2008
There are 2 other points i want to make regarding non spending of this security votes.

I have echoed the word of one of the contributor here that the President may not be spending his security vote but he may actually be spending other monies that belong to the country (highly unlikely but not impossible- politician is always a politician)

The 2 points that I wanted to make is that.

1. The Presidency and other executheives have just get a salary raise of over 100% so they may have just compensate for the non spending of security vote. Can you tell in which part of the country anyone is getting 20% salary increase not talk of over 100%

2. I completely disagree that you cannot do something in 8 months. Let imagine if you are going to build your own house and money (to a large extent ) is not an object, will it take you 8 months to formulate a vision and plan of what you are about to do. How many years will it take you to clear the ground , foundation and build.

what I for one, like other well meanning Nigerians is asking for is this so called 7 point agenda to be defined and the president intends set Time line.

without clear vision, picture and Timeline. 2011 will come and go and we will still say that there is no enough time.

Think about it 2010 that most people are claiming will just be one year before another election.

During the last election campaign last year we were told by Yar A'Dull and all the PDP that Power would be okay by May 2007. We are now 8 months later, no difference.

We should say things the way it is all the time. PDP no power

No darling--not all of it! Some of it will go to him and some of it would go to the kids! kiss
@ Mrs. Almondjoy (since you are a feminist) do you expect Mr. Almondjoy to do equally as you choose to do OR

To leave his estate solely for you

As for me, I will have got to a stage to know what Mrs. Vigasimple will do and I will then decide to leave it for her solely since she will eventually pass it on to the children but if i am in doubt about what Mrs. Vigasimple for whatever reason I will make sure it is shared to all the beneficiaries in my will.

Come to think of think, number without times people are fighting over deadman/deadwoman things when they themselves are going to die.
PoliticsRe: Yar'adua Did Not Spend A Dime Of His Security Vote by vigasimple(m): 7:14pm On Feb 02, 2008
I agree with KOBOJUNKIE.

It is commendable of the president for being prudent with his spending of security votes monies. As KOBOJUNKIE said he may not be spending his security votes but may be spending a larger sum of the country monies. we don't know and we may not know.

On the larger issue,

WHAT CAN ANYBODY TELL US (IF ANY) THAT THIS PRESIDENT HAS DONE SINCE COMING TO OFFICE OVER 8 MONTHS AGO.

We are not asking for abuse or shouting but specific things this government has done since coming to office.

Government will not be judge on whether or not they spend or not spend their security votes (which is commendable and send a message about non- corruption) but what exactly has the government done or can we see any vision that we can point out to.

@ seguno2

I also agree with you but we must also find balance between gra-gra, garrisson mentality and dullness(snail speed). so I will argue that Mr yar A'dull is just too slow and that is why they call him Baba go slow.- Even Lagos traffic 'go slow' is much better than him

That is the debate we Nigerians should get into.

Na fish dey swallow im prey.

So nigeria don turn to fish wey dey swallow meat for food.

What do you think of America or China swallowing Nigeria.

The future is about co-operation and working together in partnership not in oppression or bullying.

And importantly, we should be our neighbours keepers. Might is not necesaary power. All the goliath of this world remember thhe David's of the world.

'He that protect Isreal don't sleep not slumber'  We are peaceful and big brother nation and not a bully.

PoliticsRe: Poverty Of Ideas, Lack Of Willpower & Vision by vigasimple(op): 7:21pm On Jan 31, 2008
Seun:
Like our leaders, you ourself are suffering for poverty of ideas. That's why you
are here to abuse them instead of initiating something within your capacity.
With respect Seun , i think you are so wrong as i am not suffering from poverty of ideas like our leaders.

You have just abuse me without saying what you think or why we are like where we are after 47years. I clearly stated in my previous post to give others the opportunity to air their views before i jump in with my ideas. if you think I am abisuing our leaders let them come and defend themselves after all these years.

As I said that our leaders are suffering from poverty of ideas and quite frankly lack of willpower and vision. anybody who can't see that definitely has a very serious problem. Vison and motivation is even more important than the provison of things as you can motivate people to do things.

I can tell you how to run Nigeria to be more productive in an orderly way. But our so called selected leaders don't want that to happen because they have fear for their own selfish interest, and by the way, they give to the ordinary section of the country what they ask for, patronage!

So what is within my capacity I am doing, and by the way what is within your capacity is to provide the a platform to which we can all discuss this issues but that is not to say that we fold our arms and not let them know that they are not doing well.

Part of what I will like to do i can't because of the lack of enabling enviroment. fisrt there is no adequate power supply to site industry, and your idea of everybody using generator is very deficient because costs of production will go up and the ordinary people will be unable to buy or spend too much money on a particular products.

Government role is to provide enabling enviroment especially when they are receiving huge income from natural resources like oil. They did not provide adequately for the Niger Delta people.

To give you more insight on how bad is every succedding government. 1 road was built from Lagos-Ibadan over 30 years ago and it is in shit now and they are talking about 2020 vision. complete joke.

Go and see my contribuion on power. it can be simpler than that.

We need 50,000M at 65MW per each local government ( of 774 local govt)at costs of $50billion costing each local goverment N82Billion naira or $65Million dollars.

Do I look or sound like someone without ideas or how to implement them. and i can provide you where the monies can come from, so is the other areas like transport etc.

I have solid ideas, i am not in govrnment neither do I want to be but I am saying things can be done better 1000 times, you and all other well mening Nigerians know it, should we settle for less?

I will leave all others to answer that and other questions.
PoliticsPoverty Of Ideas, Lack Of Willpower & Vision by vigasimple(op): 6:38pm On Jan 31, 2008
A lot of people says Nigeria is a rich country, I beg to disagree. Nigeria is potentially a rich country I will say.

Even if you are rich and you don't have good managers of resources, as they say the fool and his money are soon parted.

In terms of natural and most importantly human resouces Nigeria is a well endowed country. You will agree with me without being harnesed properly we are no different from those that don't have, infact we may be worst off because we will get angry and depressed because we know we have resources and not been put into good use.

Today, in the UK shell has just announced £14Billion /$28 Billion profits for this year and after tax they will have net income of £12B and $24B money. The reason why I highlight this figure is that it is the equivalent of our budget for the year being made by one company albeit an international company.

So how rich are we ?

First , like I said earlier we are well endowed but not Rich.

My reason , Our 'leaders' are intellectually bankrupt, suffering from poverty of ideas whilst the people are suffering poverty of lacks as a result.

What is the reason for this? i argued that it is not just corruption as others might like us to see or believe but LACK OF WILLPOWER AND VISION.

what do you think? I will let other aired their opinions so we can all learn and see how to change the dynamics

Omo Eko:
am sorry to say this oh but fu ck the parents decision on marriage. They enjoyed their own lives, now is the time for  kids to do the same.

Parents also think they know the best but trust me they don't.

Some says the pastor said they weren't meant to be together,? oh really how did he know that.

Some says they saw it in their dreams? yea right

I think people needs to make their own decisions, they are the ones that knows what's best for themselves.
If the words in bold is what you think and say about your parents then your children will think and say the same to you.

Try and build manners, even if you disagree with your parents(asuming you have any left) and you can even educate them if you think they are wrong and indeed if they are wrong. majority of times parents are right because they have passed through the exact route you are about to take.

A word is enough for the wise.

tinuade001:
Why not wake your dad in the middle of the night and talk things with him. Ask him why? And if i may ask, where is your dad all these while. For the past 6 years. O boy, do consider we ladies too, even if he say so, where do you want the lady to start now. Put her in your position. Anyway ask God for his intervention.
Very well said, this is the most thoughtful advice and opinion on this issue so far.

1. Your father need to give you a very good reason for his view of  non compatibility.

2. What was he thinking/looking for the last 6 years and you for that matter ?

3. If you have a sister or a daughter would you be happy for them to find out after 6 years that they are not compatible, how would you feel.

In all propabilities we would have make some progress in the right direction even though there is no guarrantee.

I just think that IBB set Nigeria back at least 20 years or more. It also show how the military people think. Since these set of IBB kind of people knows the history of Nigeria and importantly the Army and it's strenght they knew they could get away with anything in their own opinion.

What IBB and peope like him and to some extent OBJ has never seriously factor in is GOD who does not chase before arresting you, who does not negotiate or can he be 'settled'

When God will come, according to the bible 'he will come like a thief in the night'.

EVEN if you think GOD is taking long to come, ask ABACHA. He died like a chicken.

For every evil leader in Nigeria, they wil die like chicken and may DOG eat their flesh and peace of the Lord to depart from them

Nigeria will rise and shine whether or not all the enemies who say they are nigerians but which we all know are 'desert import' like it or not.
